MP Navigator stopped working

I have had the Canon PIXMA  MX439 for almost a year and it has worked perfectly until recently. A few weeks ago I started getting this message every time I try to scan: "MP Navigator EX has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Sometimes the scan still saves successfully to the folder and sometimes it does not. I'm not sure what made this start or how to fix the problem. I've looked online and tried some of the suggestions, but nothing has worked. My printer could beconnected wirelessly, but I've always used it hardwired.

Hi mdolifka,
There are several possible reasons for this error, but let's check the most common cause first.
Follow these steps to check for any non-Canon TWAIN devices that may be conflicting with your scanner drivers:
Click the Start icon and select 'Computer'.
On the left-hand pane, double-click 'Local Disk (C'.
Use the scroll bar on the left-hand pane to scroll down and then double-click 'Windows' folder.
Use the scroll bar on the left-hand pane to scroll down and then double-click 'twain_32' folder.
Under twain_32, right-click on the non-Canon model folder and select 'Cut'
Use the scroll bar on the left-hand pane to scroll up and then click 'Windows' folder.
In Windows folder, right-click in a blank any area and select 'Paste'.
If prompted to provide administrator permission to move the folder, click 'Continue'.
If prompted to provide permission again, click 'Continue'.
Reboot the computer, open MP Navigator and try again.

  • Canon MP Navigator Stopped Working (MX870)

Running Windows7, 64 bit Oper System
    Canon MX870
Scanning was not an issue prior to a few days ago. No new software or programs have been installed.
Went to scan a document and scanning looked like it was working, then it greyed out and received error message: Canon MP Navigator EX has stopped working.
Searched internet for solutions and tried them. Nothing works. I've gone as far to un-install all Canon products and utilities, even went into registry and searched and removed everything I thought I could related to Canon.
Still receive error. What do I do now?
Guess I've pretty much stumped the panal since there's been no response
    Solved!

    Hi jealkon,
There may be a third party scanner driver interfering with MP navigator.  Please try the following:
    1.  Click 'Start' and then 'Computer'.
    2.  On the left-hand pane, click the down arrow beside Local Disk (C: ).
    3.  Click the down arrow beside Windows to open the folder
    4.  Highlight the twain_32 folder.
    5.  The folder should have 2 folders that start with PIXMA MX870 and a file called wiatwain.ds.  Any other folders or files should be dragged to the desktop.
    6.  Reboot the computer and try scanning again.

  • N97 Mini navigation stopped working

I have N97 Mini (firmware 12.0.110.C01.01), and the navigation used to work very nicely, until recently.
Funny thing is that it really gets the GPS lock. The voice guidance gives you the exact instructions where to turn and one of the screens work ok (the one, which shows the next action in symbols and writing). But the other screens are not updated. E.g. the speed indicator may freeze to some fixed value (today I was frightened when it showed 89 km/h in 50 km/h limit zone, while the voice guidance was still working, in reality it was below 50. It stayed 89 for as long as I was in the same screen).
If I remember correctly, the background of the areas outside the map were black, when it worked. Now the background is grey.
I have the Ovi -account active in the phone, internet APN is available and working. GPS gets the signal locked. But my location is not updated on the map.

Your problems sound indicative of poor GPS reception. Have you considered an external bluetooth GPS receiver?
Users should be aware that although it may still appear to function the use of "Bluetooth GPS' as a "Positioning method" is no longer officially supported by Nokia since OVI Maps v3.03

  • Three finger navigation stopped working

The last two days the ability to go backwards and forwards through web pages with a three finger sideways swipe across the trackpad has disappeared. Unclicking and reclicking it in System Prefs doesn't bring it back, nor does restarting Safari. I tried trashing ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist but it still didn't work. Any other tricks to try out? This is on my MBP 13" with 10.6.1.
    Chris

Try doing a PRAM reset, the instructions are:
    *Resetting PRAM and NVRAM*
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.

  • Mouse Navigation stops working

This is weird. I have a multi-forms application running (6i and 10g). At some point somehing seems to happen and I cannot mouse click into any fields in the form. The only way I can move to a new field is with a tab or enter keys. Once this happens, it will be a problem for any new form I open. The only way it seems to fix itself is if I close the entire application and go back in. I put messages in and the 'When-Mouse-Click' trigger is firing. Any ideas?

you are not the only one with this problem. Pls search in the forum. There are many posts with that topic.

  • Ctrl-Enter stopped working in the navigation toolbar in 3.6.13

Ctrl-Enter has always been a standard feature in the navigation bar (URL / address bar). For example you type only "getfirefox" in the bar then press Ctrl-Enter and it autofills the http://www and the .com and submits the request, so you are taken to http://www.getfirefox.com without having to type anything other than "getfirefox" and Ctrl-Enter.
This stopped working when I updated to 3.6.13. Also I cannot type a full URL and simply press Enter to submit it. The only way I can cause the browser to go to the URL I entered is to manually put the mouse cursor on the "right arrow" icon at the right end of the URL window and click that icon.
As you can imagine, this is really annoying. I disabled all of my addons (I suspected Firebug or Web Developer of causing the problem) and the problem still persisted anyway. I reinstalled Firefox 3.6.13 and the problem is still the same. I wonder if it has anything to do with Firefox 4 beta being installed on my system. But I don't try to use them at the same time.

I knew AVG Safe Search couldn't be the problem because I had uninstalled it! Guess what. It was uninstalled, all right, but the add-on to Firefox was still there, disabled. That uninstall was grayed out.
I re-enabled it and disabled it, this time it said it would be uninstalled the next time I restarted Firefox. So I did that. Nothing changed. However, this time I noticed that just above the restart message was a place to click restart. That restart worked!
Some people just know how to write obtuse software messages.

  • Welcome page navigation bar stopped working

I just made a few changes to my welcome page.  Not sure what happened but the navigation bar at the top no longer works.  It works on the other pages.  At one point I retitled the page to "home" and it seems like that may have screwed things up.  Now I can't figure out how to get it to work. Any ideas?  It is iWeb 3.0.4

figured out the problem.  I made some links on the welcome page to the same pages as the nav bar and made the bar stop working for some reason.

  • MP870 MP Navigator EX 3.1 Error Message: "MP Navigator has stopped working"

    Hello
I have a MX870 multi function inkjet. The scanned is the most important thing for me. BUt all of a sudden The software went crazy and cannot load. Everything was working fine up until a few weeks ago.
The error message from Windows is: MP navigator has stopped working then it gives me the option to debug or close. Either way nothing makes it work.
I am running it on Windows Vista Home Premium (service pack 2) . Device is connected via USB.
I have read other posts about the twain 32 folder but they refer to other operating systems  such as windows 7.  I also tried reinstalling the software. In fact, the cannon website where you can get support does not seem to have the model MX870.  I had to select model MX876 which was the closest, in order to obtain a link to download the software.
    Please help

  • Navigation and other features suddenly stopped working after I upgraded to FF4.

A day or two after I upgraded from FF 3.6 to FF4, all the ordinary navigation features stopped working. Backspace/alt-<, even the back and forward arrows, Crtl-R to reload a page, and the address field doesn't show the current URL unless I click the identify information icon. All very odd. None of the keyboard shortcuts work.
My bookmark toolbar does not load automatically, although I guess that Vista is the source of that issue.

Doing a downgrade is not anything I have done or feel comfortable with. Is there a clean procedure to accomplish this?

  • "canon mp navigator ex has stopped working" cannot get this to work - fresh install on windows 8.1

Trying to get LiDE 110 scanner working on my laptop. I keep getting this message once scan is complete "canon mp navigator ex has stopped working" and then a corrupted pdf is saved - fresh install on windows 8.1 I have used most up to date drivers and software and tried these two "fixes" from an internet search on this topic (it seems to be a common problem that hasn't been addressed by Canon) - I'm on the verge of returning the scanner!! 1) Delete this file: C:\Users\<user name>\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts\My Web Sites on MSN.      RESULT - "My Web Sites on MSN" does not exist in that folder on my computer. 2)Remove "sdc330Twain.ds" from windows Twain-32 folder      RESULT - didn't have any effect Thank you, in anticipation!

Currently running the scanner on "Advanced scan to pdf" but would like to have access to the canon software with more options

  • ADF: Page navigation and buttons stop working after a while

    Hi all,
We have a web app built with ADF Faces/JDev 10.1.3 that runs in OC4J 10.1.2.0.2. Sometimes we encounter this problem in our JSF pages: after a while (can't relate to some particular action), all navigation in a page (links, tabs, buttons, etc) just stops working, i.e. you can click them, the server receives some request (we see this in the logs), but the desired action never happens. It's just like the page keeps refreshing all the time. There is no navigation out of the page at this point, it's completely stuck.
If, at the same time, we connect to the app from a different browser, it will work fine, but the first browser will remain in the faulty state.
I turned the enableTokenValidation in the pages on and off, but it seems to make no difference. Can anyone provide an idea about what might be going on?
    Thanks,
    Serban

    Hello,
Any answer on this issue? It seems that ADF is pretty unstable if user clicks repetedly on the same submit button (like a double-click) or on different tabs on the old page, until the next page loads. We are using .jspx pages and combined with SSL access this behaviour is behaving even worser.
Basically we encounter the following problems:
    1) It seems that users with not so good network access (and accessing ADF app on a SSL OC4J) still have access to the origin page until the target page loads on a submit. If they click a different button or tab on the origin page in this interval (waiting for their previous action to complete), they usually get a JavaScript error that will block the interface until they do a manual refresh (F5)...
This can be reproduced even on client machines with good network access if you click very fast on the same button twice or on two different submit buttons.
    2) It seems that sometimes the browser keeps showing the loading bar in the status bar even if the new .jspx page is already loaded. Any advice on how to solve this, as the users might be tempted to push application buttons or browser navigation thinking that the page is blocked?
All the above happen on IE 6, which is the preffered browser.
Thanks! I can give you more details if needed.

  • Navigation bar stopped working

I was using Apache and installed IIS after that some of my
buttons stopped working. When I copy the website to my laptop, it
still works fine. What's going on? Please help!!!!

The navigation bar certainly works, but it is very fussy about the precise positioning of the cursor, which I find needs to be slightly higher than expected in order to activate the links. (Notice the difference between these and the email hyperlink down the page.) The outline of the top image on your Welcome displays while it loads, I noticed that its top edge coincides with the centre of the navigation bar, and I suspect this is what's causing the problem. Repositioning this so as not to impinge on the navigation bar would definitely improve the situation.
Similar behaviour is apparent on the Photos and Words pages (in the case of the latter, only the first four items on the navigation bar are affected, the ones which coincide with the image of the Penn Valley Directory). Take a look at your image positioning in iWeb. Turn on Show Layout. That often gives an immediate visual answer to problems such as this. As a general rule of thumb, it's advisable not to overlap the navigation bar with any other items.

  • Navigation keys stop working

I downloaded Digital Editions from the Adobe site.  After 30 or 45 minutes the navigate keys stopped working.  (all arrow keys, page up, page down)  What must I do to restore operation?  Windows XP with SP-3, Looks like Digital editions 1.7.2.1131

This is a known problem with ADE (and it's been ongoing for a while, and I've never been able to track it down).  Unfortunately the only workaround is to quite ADE and to restart.
