MSS problem.
I just imported the MSS Business Package and my client has chosen some functionality in "My Staff". I ahve created an "R3 dedicated system" in my landscape that all the iviews point to. My problem is that when I preview the iviews, some of them give me some partial screens, and others do nothing, but no errors. With the exception of "null pointer exception" on one iview. Any one have any ideas on where to begin. Also Im not sure if the backend is configured, it is an R/3 4.7 SR1 110, IDES system.

Hello Jeremy,
That is a difficult question to answer. First off, do you mean the My Staff or My Budget areas of MSS?
At a bare minimum, for the HR side, you must have a well defined Org. Management structure, and your MSS user mapped to a "Chief", or manager user in this structure. Typically, this means that infotype 105, subtype 0001 ofthe R/3 user contains the Portal user id. From there, it depends on the workset. Logically, if you are looking at an Appraisal iView, you should have appraisal data for the employee in question, etc.

Thanks for the reply. But my query was not regarding ESS in MSS.
Its about Generic iViews where you can fetch data using custom queries and user groups and display the same in the general information. I have attached the link provided by SAP below. There are mainly 3 parts to the config:
1. Creating of custom query.
2. Using FPM to add the generic iview for list to the perspective of the FPM appl of General information.
3. Then creating the WD iview of the added view within General information from content Admin and then adding the WD page to the General information page.
This is my comprehension of the steps provided. However there is one of the link within the Portal Content Admin that does not work.

MSS Problem in Employee Documents iview
Dear Folks,
When I try to access MSS Employee Document iview I am getting the following message.
"Item not found
/alias/userhome/<user.id>/Personal Documents/EmployeeDocuments/00007917

I tried adding the missing subfolders: EmployeeDocuments/90001554 in KM and then I get another error:

We are using ESS/MSS within the Portal 7.0 SP 14. The SAP Backend which we are using is ECC 6.0.
SSO between the Portal and Backend works efficient.
Problem
There are some issues when using the Universal Worklist. All tasks appear in our Universal Worklist from the Backend. Unfortunately, when trying to open any task we are facing the following error:

Following steps have been followed up
The URL parameter of the resource "Employee_travel_tripform_srv05 has the value "sap_xss_tra_UsePdf=true"
The iView "Display Trip Form" has the application parameter "sap.xss.tra.UsePdf=true"
Question
When a task is opened from the Universal Worklist, the Trip Form must appear in PDF Form.At this stage the iview "Display Trip Form" opens but shows the error mentioned above.
Is there anyone who could help us out?

Again thank you for your response. We have checked the workflow *WS90000013*, and you are right; it is a customized workflow.
As we already mentioned, we are using a &BUS2089&.
In this &BUS2089& there are the elements: &TRIP.EMPLOYEENUMBER& and &TRIP.TRIPNUMBER&
Unfortunately it is not possible to delete &BUS2089&. Deleting the &BUS2089& will cause a lot of problems for this total Workflow.
UWL iView
For the UWL iView we are using the XML file "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.xml" that comes with the ESS/MSS business package.

now if you want to activate PCR's then you will have to take there help understand the process identify the
PCR used in it and self configure it.

We need third party software to display meaningful and good organisation chart.

I have a MSS problem. When push a link in the BSP application it calls the bakecnd system with hostname:8000. this results in the error:
The following error text was processed in the system:

In portal I have written the system object with the exsension company.com on the WAS, Connector and ITS. So where does the url come from? ERP?
I need to change the call to be with a fully qualified domain.

I have checked the BSP aplication and also the tried deactivating/activating the service in SICF transaction. But im getting the same error.
This BSP iView is in MSS performance management. The BSP page is triggered on the click of a link from a WD java application. These links are dynamically generated from the Backend system. My doubt is the application parameters for generating the BSP page must be present in the backend system and passed on. Is there a way to find out the URL for generating the BSP page in MSS???

recognize the MSS value sent by the client and then send its own MSS
value in the SYN-ACK packet. Once both the client and the server are

that there are a few HTTP servers on the Internet that do not honor the

This can be caused by several problems:
- is the WP-PI installed on the R3 side?
- make sure that all your system properties are configured corerctly
- if you are using User Mapping - make sure the mapping is correct (try using upper case letters, maybe)
- there is a nice tool for testing connection to back-end system. go to the PortalAnywhere.Go page and search for 'Connector Test' - with this tool you will be able to eliminate connection problems.

Problem in Approving Requisition Request in MSS UWL
Hi,
I'm facing problem in approving requisition request sent through Manager in MSS UWL.
We have configured standard process HR_MSSRCF_REQUISITION with ISR scenario is SRQ3. Workflow is WS45600028
Case: When I successfully Check & Send Requisition Request form from MSS Recruitment, it is coming in Manager UWL.
But, when i open the workitem for approval it is not coming as a PDF form with Approve Button in the bottom (Standard). Instead, it opening as per the below screen.
Please help to resolve this issue.

Which release you are on , what is the SP level of component EA-HRGXX?
Further as per note 972322 - HR Administrator: Migration WD4A - the start process application has been migrated to WDA.
Check the UWL XML configuration to see if the config is as below for the approval task...
APPLICATION ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE(For EhP4, otherwise application depends on the level of EA-HRGXX )
DYNPARAM WI_ID=${item.externalId}
NAMESPACE sap
SYSTEM_ALIAS <use your system alias>
A sample XML is available with note - 1371626 - UWL Configuration for HR Administrator BP version 1.51.
This appears to me to be a XML configuration issue. Collaborate with your portal and UWL config consultant.

Problem in MSS Approve Timedata application-Overtime approved twice
HI,
We are using ESS & MSS packages in our projet. We are facing a strange problem when approving time sheets under MSS. For a particular user, timesheets got approved twice. Employees cannot enter time sheets twice for a day.
When MSS user approves time sheets, application freezes for some time showing revolving circle on the screen. User needs to logoff the portal and only able to login after some time.
In our case, employee is entering timesheet data only once in a day and manager is approving it only once but in backend, the records are saving twice.
Any idea why this happens? Is it a portal related issue or a backend configuration issue?? Suggestions and solutions will be very helpful.

Problem in MSS - Create Requisition
Hi All,
We implementing E Recruitment on EHP4 sp4. we are facing a strange issue in the MSS-Create requisition request scenario.
We are using standard HCM process HR_MSSRCF_REQUISITION.
MSS user is able to create a requisition and send to his manager for approval. His manager can also approve it. But once the requisition is finally approved, the recruiter cannot see
the requisition in the recruiter dashboard
We have checked the workflow log, its finishing without errors.The e-rec infotype table HRP5131 does not have any new entries for Otype NB, But Manager can see his requisitions from MSS-Requisition Overview iview as completed.
Pls let me know if any config is missing? Do we need to run any background job to update the e-rec tables? There's no error message in any stage of process..still recruiters can't see the new requisition.

Dear SDN,
I am running MSS 60.1 and I am trying to troubleshoot the iviews. I just installed the BP and created the connection to r/3 (4.7). The connection seems to be fine. I can see the "team overview iview" but ALL other iviews give a runtime error.
It goes something like this
Access denied (Object:com.sap.portal.system/security/com.sap.portal.ep50/ep50_safety)
See details in the exception ID log file
Where can I find this "exception ID log file"
Anyone have problems like this?

Jeremycom.sap.portal.system/security/com.sap.portal.ep50/ep50_safety refers to the security zone. You need to enable end-user permission on ep50_safety security zone. Go to System Admin > Permissions > Security Zone and open this object, add MSS portal role or any role that MSS is part of to the list, and check the Enable box. When you do that, portal may warn you that you are breaking the permission inheritance, just go ahead and accept that since that is what you want.
