Multiple alert rules  for alert category?

Hi,
I have created Alert Categories and assigned Alert Rules for them. <b>Can I assign multiple Alert rules for the same alert category?</b> I mean RTW--> Alert Configuration lets me do it. But when I test it by running report RSALERTTEST, I could get only error for one alert rule, even though I defined multiple alert rules. I haven't tested with real error out scenarios. Any update on this would be helpful.
Thanx&Regards
Navin

Hi Navin,
1) the report requires authorization object S_XMB_AUTH with area MONCONFIG and activity 02. It's actually part of the standard role SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR_ABAP.
2) sorry, don't know that, but you might want to check SAP Note 913858 for troubleshooting the alerting. it contains the following statement:
<i>Q10: Why are sometimes certain error categories (e.g. SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT) not filled?
A10: This is due to an error in the Business Object Repository when the value of a container variable exceeds 255 characters. Please implement the correction described in note #947738.</i>
3) You can configure alert rules for the way from the sender to the BPM and from the BPM to the sender. If anything happens in that communication you will get an alert. However as far as i know, the only way to trigger an alert for something that happens within the BPM is by using an according control step.

  • Maintain settlement rules for order category 30(Maintenance order).

    Hi Gurus,
Can we maintain two settlement rules for an order without distribution rule?
Eample:-  In an order there are three  different costs i.e. material cost, external labour cost and internal labour cost.We want to settle the material cost and external labour cost to Profitability segment and the internal cost to a particular GL account directly.
Note: No distribution rule is required, because all the cost should settle directly to correspoanding heads i.e. PSG or GL.We don't want to assign  the GL# again and again for different orders in the corresponding order's  settlement rule.
Require your valuable inputs to proceed.
    Best Regards,
    Ramakanta

    Hi Govardhan,
If you are working in ECS, the Shopping cart will not create any follow on document in backend R/3.
I think your Product category is 30, thats why the error says Manual reservation for order category 30 is not allowed.
Where did you get the maintenance order? Generally maintenance order is created in the backend R/3 (Plant Maintenance) and a P.R will get generated against that order.
Using PDP (Plan driven procurement) you can transfer that P.R to SRM and can carry out sourcing and can complete the procurement cycle.
Can you please tell me what is your exact business requirement?
Hope this will make you more clear.
    Clarifications are welcome.
    Award points for helpful answers.

  • Unable to assign AUC as settlement type in settlement rule for FXA category

    Dear Experts,
One of my requirement is that one WBS has several actual posting for AUC of different types and settle through CJ88. Investment profile is not in scope.
To run the above scenario, i created AUC manually via AS01 of different types. When i create settlement rule manually for that WBS i can't see the settlement type "AUC" for FXA category. I can see only the settlement type of "PER and FULL". 100% settlement should be done for all AUC posted for  that WBS at the time of each period closing.
Could you help me to resolve this issue asap?
    Regards
    Vetri

    Hi,
To get AUC in settlement rule , you need to allow settlement at wbs level which use to be controlled in settlement profile. Also you wont find AUC but u will find fixed asset-  FXA.
One more thing settlement rule come automatically when you run the settlement first time as captilisation. You will get the settlement rule automatically.

  • How to Define Multiple Notification Rules for Different E-Mail Channels?

In C4C we can define a notification rule for New tickets, for example, that provides an acknowledgement of receiving the customer's e-mail.
This works great for a single support team, but what if we have multiple support teams, each with their own e-mail address, and each with unique requirements for their auto-acknowledgement?
When setting up a new notification rule, there doesn't appear to be any option to define the e-mail channel, service and support team value, or a "from" e-mail address.
We're on-boarding over a dozen e-mail teams, and I'd hate to tell them that they'll all have to share one auto-acknowledgement template from a single do-not-reply address.
Does anyone know if this is possible to:
Define the e-mail channel or service and support team as an condition in the notification rules.
Define the outgoing "from" e-mail address for a notification rule.
Thanks for any insight the community might have!
    Mike
    T-Mobile USA

    Hi Mike,
As of release 1402, your analysis is correct.  The out-of-the-box notification rules do not include the "incoming email channel" as one of fields on which to build condition, and all notifications are sent from a common do-not-reply address.
You can easily overcome the first limitation by using the SDK.  For example, when the ticket is created you could set an extension field based on the email channel, and then use the extension field to define different notification rules, using different templates.  All extension fields are automatically available to be used as conditions.
Thank you for your feedback and for bringing this item to our attention.  We will definitely keep this in mind as we plan for future releases.
    Kind regards,

  • EBS - Electronic Bank Statement Multiple Posting Rule for One External Transaction Type NTRF

    hello SAP Gurus,
I'm configuring EBS - Electronic Bank Statement. My requirement is for Bank External Transaction Type NTRF <for Incoming Payment> I want to assign 2 posting rules for Posting Area 2 that is Sub-Ledger posting viz. <1> For the payments received from Customer which should clear the Customer Open item since it is bill to bill exactly matching the open line item and <2> For the payments which should not clear the Customer Open item since i know that they are not bill to bill and only partial against the original line item
Is this possible? if yes then how?
Currently, SAP allows only one assignment like one external transaction type NTRF => one Posting Rule <either clear the sub-ledger-system picks FB05 or just post on Sub-ledger so that not to clear - system uses FB01 >
    Journal for Posting Area 2:
    Bank Clearing Account Dr
To Customer Account Cr  <either set this to clear with original invoice / or just post on customer so as to clear/handle it manually later on once paid fully>
So, what is the solution; how can i differentiate my incoming whether fully payment or partial payment; since bank statement always tag it to external transaction type NTRF always for any incoming payments !
    regards,
    `raj.

    Hi,
You cannot create separate rule with sub ledger postings while executing electronic bank reconciliation. The reason is your bill to bill transfers should posted to bank sub ledger account first and then you can write a BDC to clear sub ledger account.Otherwise use F.13 to clear the sub ledger account.

  • What is Completion Rule Setting for Item Category KBN?

    Hi,
In the standard SAP configuration, what is the setting of Completion Rule for
Item Category KBN?  In our system, currently it's set to "B".
    Thanks!

    Dear Mari
In Standard, item category <b>KBN</b> will have "<b>A</b>" as billing relevance.
"A" Indicates what the basis for billing should be.
Billing is based on the outbound delivery. Billing status is only updated in the outbound delivery.
For information, in standard, both <b>KBN</b> and <b>KEN</b> item categories will have "<b>A</b>" as Billing Relevance and in <b>KEN, "W"</b> will be maintained in the field "<b>Special Stock</b>".
    Thanks

  • Siebel Assignment Manager: Multiple Assignment Rules

    Hi All,
We have a requirement where in we have multiple assignment rules for a single assignment object.
Each Rule has only one candidate. When mutiple rule satisfy, it will assign the highest scoring candidate along with other candidates, keeping the highest scoring candidate as Primary.
We only want to keep the Highest Scoring Assignee on the assignment. Anyone knows if this is possible without customization ?
    Regards,

    Hi Yossi,
    yes this is possible.
Although I have not done it myself I know that it will work. You should find all necessary steps in Bookshelf "Assignment Manager Administration Guide" Chapter 10.
    You can read it here:

  • Alert Rules vs Alert Category - Is there any limitations for multiple rules

I have an alert configuration implemented already and i want to add few more rules for the same alert category.  While creating the rules for new set of scenarios, I am able to create only one rule . Is there any limitations for having the rules per category ?

    Hi,
If the Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule checkbox is selected (default setting), then no further alerts are generated once the rule has been met until the first alert has been confirmed.
There is no limitation of creating alert rule for a particular alert category.
Check out the steps of Alert rule configuration.
    Creating Alert Rules
To create an alert rule in which you use a defined alert category, proceed as follows:
           1.      Give the rule a name (Description).
           2.      Select the alert category that you want to use by clicking the corresponding category in the alert category table.
           3.      If necessary, specify conditions for the sender or receiver, or both.
&#9675;       If your rule results in alerts that must be assigned to a specific message, select the option Yes for the Bound to Message condition.
&#9675;       If your rule results in alerts that are not assigned to a message, that is, they are caused by errors that occurred before the message was sent, select the option No for the Bound to Message condition.
In this case you cannot enter any further details about the sender or receiver.
&#9675;       If the rule is to cover both cases, select the Not Relevant option.
           4.      If required, restrict the errors further to:
&#9675;       Errors reported from the Integration Engine (with or without error category or error code)
&#9675;       Errors reported from the Adapter Engine (with or without adapter type)
You can enter an asterisk (*) in steps 3 and 4. You can enter just the asterisk, or enter it at the start, end, or start and end of a string.
           5.      To add the new rule to the list of alert rules, choose Add Rule.
If the Rule Activated check box is selected (default setting), the rule is automatically activated when you add it and is displayed as active.
If the Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule checkbox is selected (default setting), then no further alerts are generated once the rule has been met until the first alert has been confirmed.
Once you have created a rule, it is automatically displayed in the list of alert rules. If you want to display the conditions of a rule, select a rule in the list and choose Show Conditions.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Transport alert category and alert rule

    Hi,
We are using SAP BASIS 700 (NW2004S SP9). We have created alert category and alert rule in development system. We now want to transport this alert category and alert rule to test system. I have referred to sapnote 913858 but its valid till SAP BASIS 640 and we are using SAP BASIS 700.
Does anybody know how to resolve this issue?
    Regards,
    Mateen.

Thank you all you 3 wonderful people, your replies did helped and I am definitely going to reward you with the points..Now I am getting alerts in my alert inbox. Can you also help me with some info on alerts?
    1) What exactly happens when I check and uncheck "Suppress Multiple Alerts of this rule" checkbox while creating alert rule? I have read some documentations for it in sap help website and also in some of the forums but its still very confusing to me. Can you please give me an exact picture of it?
    2) I am unable to get alert emails in my lotus notes. I compared my profile setup in XIJ and XIT using TCode SU01 and found that the PARAMETERS tab had some discrepancies. Can you please confirm if this can be the reason?

  • Multiple alerts for the same Message ID

    Hi
I have configured outbound ftp adapter. I have configured alerts inorder to capture any error in the adapter engine.
Now,alert is triggered showing an error in the ftp adapter ( say incorrect ftp details). But i get multiple alerts for the same message ID several times. I have also set the parameter Max No od Delvs to 1 in the ALRTCATDEF transaction.
I keep getting the same alert number of times a day. How can i restrict the number of alerts to 1 for 1 message ID.
    Regards,
    Vani

    Hello Andreas,
    Thanks for your reply.
In my scenario i would need an alert per Message. That is the reason why I have not checked the option "Supress Multiple Alerts" since it would allow only alert per rule.
Is there is any way we can get one alert per message.
Also, after correcting the eror in the file adapter will the file which was not placed due to error in the adapter be placed automatically. I wanted to know what would happen to the lost file or unprocessed file since it dint reach the destination due to error.
    Regards,
    Vani

           Sender Service   : *
           Sender Interface : Test_OB

When i tested this alert rule, mails are getting triggered for Integration engine alerts. But when messages fails in adapter engine, i am not getting any alerts/mails at all. Why this happens?
    How should i debug this?

    Check this for troubleshooting: /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--troubleshooting-guide
Also the alert should be raised in Adapter Engine for Test_OB as source interface.
Uncheck Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule checkbox.

  • Alert Category in rule not yet confirmed.

    Hi All,
I am getting the following error in Alert log
        Error :
"Alert Category ALERT_CCMS in rule not yet confirmed, Skip creation of new alert".
I have followed all the steps in the Monitoring setup guide
       for sap xi 7.0 ( 2004s) sps 12
but still not getting alerts to inbox
Can anyone help me in overcoming this error?
    Regards
    KLK

    HI,
In the Alert Inbox check whether you have confirmed the Alerts which are already generated.
If supress alerts check box is check for alert rules , if the previous alert is not confirmed the next alert wont be triggered.
Check the Report RSALERTPROC and delete the Old alerts.
    Thanks,

  • Alert Category missing in RWB and "Add Rule" button disabled

    Hi,
    1) I have added an Alert category in ALRTCATDEF but this alert is not
visible in Runtime workbench -> Alert configuration. I have even
pressed the "Update Table" button but still the alert category is
    missing the table.
    2) The "Add Rule" button in Runtime workbench -> "Alert configuration"
is missing, even after selecting an alert category from the table of
    Alert categories.
Is this some problem with my browser or something else??
    I am using IE8 / IE6/ Moziall Firefox and PI 7.1
    regrds,
    Piyush

    Hi Piyush,
-->make sure that you created the alert category in ABAP stack of PI only. Please recheck once.
-->In RWB if the buttons are in diabled mode means please check the roles for the user which you are using.Make sure that all the roles are assigned to your user for creating the alert category and alert rule.
    have a try with these
    Thanks

  • How to test alert mechanisum after checking., Suppress Multiple Alerts of this Rule.

    Hi Experts,
Currently,  Suppress Multiple Alerts of this Rule. condition is not checked, now its checked to avoid dulicate alerts.
Please let me know how to test this conditon?
    Thanks,
    Thrilok Chandar

make the message fail in PI for example 3 times, and check if you get 3 alerts.
you won't get 3. after one you have to confirm the alert then only you will get another consecutive one.
for that go to alert inbox and complete the alert and check if you get the alert or not.
if you don't check Suppress Multiple Alerts of this Rule no need to do above activity.
