Multiple pl/sql expressions for a conditonal process

Can I put multiple pl/sql expressions in the expression one box? I want run a process on conditions that posts an update when the user has checked a box that was not previously checked.
looks something like this:
when
(p1_checkbox1 = 'Y' or p1_checkbox2 = 'Y')
and ((p1_checkbox1 =! p1_checkbox1_sav)
or (p1_checkbox2 =! p1_checkbox2_sav))
Is this possible or will I need to create multiple processes that do the same thing with different run conditions?

Please tell us your first name and update your forum profile with it to help us. Thanks.
The answer is no, you can only have one expression, for example:
(:p1_checkbox1 = 'Y' or :p1_checkbox2 = 'Y')
  and ((:p1_checkbox1 =! :p1_checkbox1_sav)
  or (:p1_checkbox2 =! :p1_checkbox2_sav))Scott

    Hi Sini,
    I have tried taking the second suggestion but I get no result for that
    "Task Runs"."Start Time" -->Filter->Advanced button->Convert this in SQL->
    WHERE "Task Runs"."Start Time" >= MAX("Task Runs"."Start Time" by "Task"."Task Name")
    Here I did not understand the code Task Runs"."Start Time" by "Task"."Task Name". If possible elaborate.
    And 1st suggestion the query formed just looks the query u suggested.
    Unable to figure out what exactly is the problem.
    Try something as in with 2 queries

  • How to implement PL/SQL expression in Report conditonal?

    Hi All,
    In my application i am want use Pl/SQl as expression in Conditional Display for Report region. Can you please suggest me how to handle using PL/SQl expression in conditonal.
    Thanks,
    Anoo..

    In general terms, your PL/SQL expression should evaluate to true or false - true will display the region, false will hide it. It's analogous to writing the conditional expression part of an if statement.
    So, if you had normal PL/SQL code that looks like this:
    if :P999_MYPAGEITEM is null or :P999_MYPAGEITEM = 0 then
    end if;The equivalent conditional pl/sql expression would simply be:
       :P999_MYPAGEITEM is null or :P999_MYPAGEITEM = 0 Note: this is NOT the same as you would do for "PL/SQL body returning boolean Expression", which looks more like:
       return :P999_MYPAGEITEM is null or :P999_MYPAGEITEM = 0;or
    declare
       bl_retval boolean;
    begin
       bl_retval := :P999_MYPAGEITEM is null or :P999_MYPAGEITEM = 0;
       return bl_retval;
    end;

    Aren't these rules equivalent to "Monday this week, where Monday is the first day of the week"? In which case the PL/SQL Expression you require is:
    trunc(sysdate, 'iw')For example:

  • SQL Expression for date conversion - version XI

    I am trying to convert a number field to a date field in order to use it in a date parameter in Infoview. The database field is in a 15 digit DTM format but is stored as a number. There is also a zero stored in the database field. When I try to create the date SQL Expression I get this error: Error in compiling SQL Expression: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: ORA-01840: input value not long enough for date format. How can I get the SQL Expression to not look at the zero? I tried putting a statement in my Record Selection to not pull any zero fields but that doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks! Kelley

    Hi Kelly,
    It's been a while since I used Info View, so if it's about registering, etc. I won't know the
    answer.
    Did you link it ?  Have you tested that it should even return data ?
    Check the filtering, etc in a query builder to make sure.
    Have you tested the sub report by running it by itself ? (just add a value to the parameter
    field request)
    Do you have suppression formulas in the sub report ?
    Is the section of the main report that is holding the sub report
    free of "suppresion" formulas ?

    Sudha,
    For a default value type of PL/SQL Expression, you could create a function that accepts an input and returns a value. If the function (not a procedure) is named GET_REFNO, you would call it using an expression in the default value field like:
    get_refno(:P3_REFTYPE)
    For a default value type of PL/SQL Function Body, you could call your existing procedure with a default value like:declare
        l_value varchar2(32767);
    begin
        get_refno(:P3_REFTYPE, l_value);
        return l_value;
    end;Scott

  • Entity DATE type attribute : Derieved From SQL Expression for date format

    Hi,
    I want to set one of the Entity's Date Attribute with specific format , for e.g DD-MM-YYYY
    I see a Derieved From SQL Expression checkbox, how can I define the SQL Expression
    can I use TO_DATE(EMP_START_DATE,'DD-MM-YYYY'), I want to insert a date in that format, when I am creating a row using viewObject.createRow()
    Java Type is oracle.jbo.domain.Date which take YYYY-MM-DD as a string, I do not want to use this format
    Thanks,

    Here is a solution, but I am sure it is not the best one. It will work in a hurry. Maybe you can create a helper method to generalize this conversion until something more succinct comes along for US:
    This code assumes an import of jbo.oracle.domain.Date.
        public void updateDateTest () {
            AddressesViewImpl lVO = (AddressesViewImpl)this.getAddressesView1();
            AddressesViewRowImpl lRow = (AddressesViewRowImpl)lVO.first();
            System.out.println("create date for current record is currently: " +
                               lRow.getCreationDate());
            java.util.Date today = new java.util.Date();
            SimpleDateFormat dateFormat =
                new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MM-yyyy");
            SimpleDateFormat jboDateFormat =
                new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
            String lSampleDateString = "15-04-2010";
            java.util.Date lSampleDate = null;
            try {
                lSampleDate = dateFormat.parse(lSampleDateString);
            } catch (ParseException e) {
                System.out.println("Parsing exception thrown:  " + e.getMessage() +
                                   "\n ==> caused by \n==>"+ e.getCause().getMessage());
                lRow.setCreationDate(new Date(jboDateFormat.format(lSampleDate)));
            System.out.println("about to commit; create date for current record is currently: " +
                               lRow.getCreationDate());
            this.getDBTransaction().commit();
            System.out.println("resetting to some other date; create date for current record is currently: " +
                               lRow.getCreationDate());
                lRow.setCreationDate(new Date(jboDateFormat.format(today)));
            this.getDBTransaction().commit();
        }I defined this code in my Application Module Impl file and ran it with the BC tester. Here was its output:

  • Version of SQL Server Express for a Secondary Site in Configuration Manager 2012 R2

    Hi,
    I want to install a secondary site in my Configuration Manager 2012 R2. I want to install the SQL Server Express in a diferente drive. To do so, I want to previous install the SQL Server Express.
    Can I use the SQL Server 2014 Express?
    Thanks in advance...

    Sorry, going to be blunt here, but this is why "best practices" are useless. If you don't know the "why" of the best practice and when to apply it, it will cause you to do things that simply aren't necessary (or even harmful) by
    blindly trying to apply them. It is simply is not necessary for secondary sites for perf or any other reason. Also, if this is a VM, then your virtual disks will most likely be on the same physical disks which means you do *not* in any way gain any perf benefits
    anyway (perf benefits come from have additional physical spindles -- logical separation is just that *logical*).
    You have far bigger challenges ahead of you, push the easy button on this one, let ConfigMgr deploy SQL Express for you and move on.

  • First time an SQL expression is placed on report a DB SELECT executes -CRXI

    The same problem can be created using the normal Crystal Reports XI Release 2 developer environment and/or code (not only a code issue).
    Symptom:
    We dynamically auto generate SQL Expressions, Tables, Joins, Formula's and anything through C# and place it onto the Crystal Report through code via run-time user input in a web environment. I recieved a notification from one of my DB admins that crystal reports is causing massive memory consumption via unknown SELECT statements that have no joins and/or WHERE criteria.
    Some Detective Work/More Info:
    After using Microsoft "SQL Profiler" along with Crystal, I understand what is happening but don't know the "work around" to make Crystal stop executing the following SELECT scenario.
    Anytime I create a new "SQL Expression" for the first time and then physically "drag and drop" it onto the report then Crystal is executing a "silent" SELECT statement against the database in the design environment. I'm calling it "silent" because I need MS SQL Profiler to see it happen.  I'm guessing that this is used for validation or something but this is causing problems when automatically generating a report in a production environment.
    Steps to re-create:
    1. Open MS "SQL Profiler" and get it running. (will show Crystal Engine silently executes the SELECTS)
    2. Add a new "SQL Expression" to your report.
    3. Drag and Drop your new "SQL Expression onto your report
    4. You will see that Crystal has created an SQL query and executed it against your database in design environment.
    The Problem:
    I can see under normal circumstances why you might want this funtionality (if it's actually used for the Crystal Engine to validate your SQL Expression). But, What also makes this functionality horrible is that on my behalf Crystal is creating these SELECT statements and using cross joins which is a major problem in a production environment. As a result, huge record sets are being created on our DB Server. I don't believe that this has any purpose in a production evironment when the cross-joins can create huge amounts of results just for the sake of Crystal Internally validating a new SQL Expression placed onto a report. It would be nice to disable this functionality in production. I don't know a "work around" since these SELECT queries are created on my behalf by the Crystal Engine at design time (via code auto generation in production).

    Can this functionality be disabled to prevent a production server from incurring the execution of these queries?

  • Cannot find SQL Expression Fields

    Hi,
    I am using Crystal Reports 2008 and trying to locate the SQL Expression Fields.  According to the user guide, the SQL Expresion Fields should be under Field Explorer.  But when I go to Field Explorer, I only see the following options:
    - Database Fields
    - Formula Fields
    - Parameter Fields
    - Running Total Fields
    - Group Name Fields
    - Special Fields
    Would you please let me know where I can find SQL Expression Fields?

    Al

    Al,
    If you are reporting off of a Stored Procedure, View, Command Object, or multiple datasources SQL Expression fields will not be available. The reason is for the first 3 is that the SQL has been hard coded, the reason it would not work when ussing multiple datasources is that it would not know which query to append the SQL expression to.
    Correction: SQL Expressions will be available when reporting off of a View.

    Can this functionality be disabled to prevent a production server from incurring the execution of these queries?
    Anybody else notice this and have a "work around"?

    Before thinking about high availability, you need to define your availability requirements (recovery point and recovery time objective.) This should dictate the solution that you will have to implement. If your availability requirements are mission-critical,
    I don't think using SQL Server Express Edition would be the right choice to make.

  • SQL Express

    Windows server 2003, IIS 6, Dreamweaver 8
    Does anyone use SQL Express for their database on their
    production server?
    Microsoft tells me I should not use Access any longer and
    they recommend I
    use SQL Express. I tried to download .NET framework 2 on my
    windows 2000
    pro machine, which is required for SQL Express and I could no
    longer get any
    microsoft websites or google websites. Anyone else have
    problems installing
    this?
    Will my access databases import into the SQL Express database
    without a ton
    of work? I don't see a forum for SQL Express, anyone have a
    clue where to
    find one?
    Thanks.

  • Can I use Signal Express for multiple customers for only the one time $699?

    How do I go about distributing Signal Expresss applications to multiple customers?

    Hi Nutter,
    Unlike LabVIEW, Signal Express doesn’t have any file distribution capabilities.  If your application uses only basic features, you could install the free LE version of Signal Express on as many computers as necessary.  If you need the full capabilities of Signal Express, however, you would need to purchase a license for each customer.
    An alternative to paying for Signal Express for each customer deployment would be to generate LabVIEW code from the Signal Express project and create an executable.  This process is described in the Knowledge Base articles Generate LabVIEW VIs from Signal Express and Deploying VIs generated in Signal Express.  Note that this method requires that you have LabVIEW installed on your development computer with Application Builder capabilities.
