Muse changes size of embedded HTML-Elements

Hello,
Muse drives me crazy: I've added some HTML-Elements to my site and Muse always rescales 'em. For example: One element is 317x356 Pixels - but Muse scales it at 396x423. Now I go and change it back at 317x356 - and a few seconds later it's again 396x423. And if I try to rescale it with the mouse, it gets bigger and bigger each time I try to rescale it.
What can I do? What is wrong with muse?
Best,
Sven

How are you setting the width and height? Are you editing the embed code or using the width and height controls in Muse? YouTube videos and most HTML embed code specify their own dimensions. If you've accidentally changed the dimensions of the container holding the embed code, the easiest way to reset the widget to the default size is to drag-resize the widget with the mouse to dimensions that are much smaller than their default size. Muse will initially allow you to resize to these smaller dimensions but will then ask the browser to render the embed code and report its dimensions. If the dimensions are larger than the current size of the container, Muse will reset the container's dimensions to match those reported by the browser.
With respect to your bandcamp embed code, it consists of an iframe with internal dimensions of 356x317. For HTML embed code pasted onto a page, Muse does not know what is in the code but it needs to know the dimensions so it can put it in a container. So, Muse hands the embed code to the browser and lets the browser determine its dimensions and generate a poster image for design time rendering in Muse. These dimensions are the initial dimensions of the container. Muse lets you style this container by adding a stroke and fill, for example, and it lets you resize the container. If you attempt to resize the container by dragging a resize handle or using the width and height controls, Muse gives the html embed code a chance to adapt to the new size of its container by handing the embed code back to the browser along with the container it needs to draw within. If the embed code is smart enough to adjust its dimensions, it will do so and pass a new poster image and new dimensions back to Muse. In this specific instance, the iframe has hardcoded dimensions so it cannot change its size. However, Muse will still allow you to adjust the container's dimensions as long as you don't resize it to be smaller than what the browser says its dimensions should be.
Try the following experiment with your bandcamp widget. Give it a colored fill. Resize it larger than 356x317 by dragging the bottom-right selection handle. When you let go of the mouse, Muse will pass the container and the embed code for the widget to the browser to give it a chance to resize the widget. The band camp code does not respond so you see a colored fill in the portions of the container not filled by the widget. Now resize the container smaller than 356x317. Muse again gives the widget a chance to resize but the browser again returns 356x317 for its dimensions. So, Muse adjusts the dimensions of the container to match this minimum size.
If you want to really make the widget a different size, you need to adjust the dimensions specified in the embed code. If you want to experiment, try the following:
1. Right-mouse click on the widget and select "Edit HTML..."
2. Find the 'width' and 'height' values and change them to something else. Try changing the width to something like 500px. Make sure you preserve quotes and semicolons and only change the numbers so that you do not break any syntactical rules.
3. Press OK and watch how it changes the widget.

  • Is there a way to change the font-size in the html element

I notice that by default, the font-size in the boilerplate.css file is set to 100%. Is there a way to set it to something else such as 62.5%? I would like to see exactly what my content will look like in my WordPress theme. I build my themes using a font-size of 62.5%. This make's it very easy to do the arithmetic when using the "rem" unit.
I tried manually changing the size in the css boilerplate file but that did not work. If this cannot be done in the current version, I may be a usful feature in a future version. Thanks.

If you click on "Body" in the status bar and select the Styling tab, you can set the text properties that cascade from the body element.

  • Muse keeps crashing when embedding html vimeo

I am on a Macpro (mac OS 10.7.5). Using Muse 7.3. Whenever i try to embed a vimeo video by html insert, muse crashes constantly. Also trying the vimeo widget in the widget library keeps crashing Muse. When i try the youtube widget there is no crash.

The update to AIR 13 introduced a bug that impacts Macs from 2006-2009. The AIR team is aware of this and working on a fix.
The short-term workaround would be to uninstall Adobe AIR (using the uninstaller "Applications/Utilities/Adobe AIR Uninstaller" and directly install version 4.0.0.1390 from
Adobe AIR 4.0.0.1390 Mac (27.6 MB)
following which you'll need to ignore the AIR update alerts to avoid updating back to the AIR 13 version with the bug. (AIR changed their version number scheme to match the corresponding version number of Flash Player. The major version after AIR 4 is 13.)

  • Muse CC crashing when embedding HTML

Trying to embed a YouTube video into a Muse site with Muse CC and is crashing every time. Is this a known issue? Is there a work around?

Google very recently changed the behavior of their embed code and this change is triggering a crash within Adobe AIR (all versions) when Muse attempts to work with the embed code.
At this time the only workaround we have is for you to replace the embed code for ALL YouTube videos with newly generated embed code from YouTube with the "Enable privacy-enhanced mode" option selected. (It's off by default.)
Sorry for the inconvenience. We're actively working with the AIR team to fully understand the root cause of the bug and how best to address it.

  • Changing size of standard data element.

    Hello here,
    I need some clarification.
I have standard data element TIDNR - Technical identification number (Used in PM tables).
It has Data Type - CHAR and Length  25.
Is it possible to increase his length to 35?
Maybe, it is possible to create new data element ZTIDNR and make reference to TIDNR?
Or easily is to add some user field to equipment time segment?
    Thank You in advance.

    Hi andriy,
    always be careful.
Check what the where-used-list says: It's not only the use in programs and database tables, all input/output fields are also affected and must be changed manually (which is a modification).
You may create an own translation table: If i.e. you allow only 96 characters as defined ind [CDC display code|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDC_display_code] , this can be reduced to 8 characters in 6 bytes or 33 chars in the original data element. Some bit&byte operations required for the conversion. If you define your own code with, say only A-Z, 0-9 and space and some more you can reduce to 5 bits having 8 characters in 5 bytes and so forth.
If you are on unicode with 2 bytes per char, possibilties are even more...
Yes, it's kind of a challenge - but at least an idea.
    Regards,
    Clemens

Can I upload a php file to my host with an embedded html contact form in Muse for it to work?

That would require to know your hosting provider and his requirements. And therein also lies the answer: You cannot blindly design a form in Muse and just hope it will work, you have to know this stuff beforehand and design "to spec".

  • Gettting values from HTML elements in a servlet

    Hello
I have some Java and embedded HTML code in a servlet which is asking the user to enter a value as below:
    out.println("<form name=\"generategraph\" action=\"/monolith2/graphingoutput\" method = \"get\">");
    out.println("<h3>Pick slope for graph type</h3>" +

    out.println("<input type = \"submit\" value = \"Generate graph\"></form>\n");
However, I cannot access the contents of the element slope which I need to validate. I have tried:
    String str = request.getParameter("slope");
But without success; I simply get null.
    Have you any ideas?
    Thanks

  • How to include text as HTML elements (see DOMElement)

I am working with Flash PRO CC v. 14.0.  to convert my Flash website to HTML5 / javascript
I have converted a file to the HTML5 Canvas
I am very happy that the new Flash Pro has the feature to convert to HTML5 canvas
    HOWEVER:
In my original .FLA file project I use only one font: Copperplate Bold.  I use several sizes of that font within the project / scene
In the original file for all text I use static text, Letter spacing, AntiAlias, AutoKern and single line (Linetype)
    - none of which the HTML5 canvas seem to allow / support?
How do I maintain the FONT look that I have chosen in my original FLASH project, after I convert to HTML5 canvas?
Is there a way in the HTML canvas to maintain the FONT look that I want?
HTML5 canvas will not allow Font embedding
The device font destroys the LOOK of my Copperplate Bold font.
How do I include text as HTML elements (see DOMElements)?

Text support is limited. It is generally recommended to include text as HTML elements (see DOMElement). (6)

  • Embedding HTML in Tabbed Panels

I created a campaign in Mailchimp and downloaded it as HTML so i could show the newsletter on my Muse site, with working links to emails, subscription and interviews.
I placed the HTML Element inside a Tabbed Panels widget and that caused alot of issues with the other elements on my Muse page.
It seems to be rather random in nature, sometimes moving a subheader, other times changing the color of the header or expanding rectangle elements.
    Any suggestions or questions welcomed!

    Michael,
We might be experiencing similar issues. I posted this yesterday:  HTML inserted into a MUSE accordion widget issue
In Adobe MUSE 2014.3.1.44, I have inserted an HTML snippet into an accordion widget:
    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://burkeauto.workstiming.com/external/next_available_time.js”></script>
When published all I see is the clock numbers to the top left corner of the page—no other page content and no accordion—just the unformatted clock at the top left corner.
The snippet works fine outside the accordion widget.
When not inside the accordion the HTML frame is normal, but as soon as I insert it into the accordion it adopts the attributes like other widgets, with the round blue icon on the top right corner of the frame and a stripped down context menu.
Adobe chat support has duplicated this on their end and suggested that I post the issue in the forum.
    Any thoughts?
I will be watching you post.

  • Write Back - Change size of displayed textbox

    Hi
I'm using write back in OBIEE 10. As I know we can define the size of the input box in means that no one is able to add more text than allowed. But even if I allow 2000 characters the text box is shown as a single line input box.
Is there a possibility to change the size of the displayed text box especially to allow more than a single line?
    Thank you

    Hey,
You will somehow need to hack the OBI CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) when the the writeback (table view) is present so that instead of a textbox HTML element, it displays a TEXTAREA HTML element. There is currently no other way to achieve this.
You can read more about HTML input types here,
    http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_forms.asp
    and
play with an example of a TEXTAREA HTML element here, http://www.w3schools.com/html/showit.asp?filename=tryhtml_textarea

  • Embedded HTML is moving my rectangles

    Hello all,
I'm embedding HTML (a Business Catalyst module) into my site and it moves down my two side rectangles.  I don't understand why because there's plenty of room.  I tried moving the rectangles (they're on a master page) backward, moving them to a separate layer, as well as moving the embedded HTML on the page they're on to a separate layer but nothing has helped.  Can someone please help me with this?
    I provided a link below.
    http://thecoffeebean.businesscatalyst.com/africa

Yep, that's what I thought I'd see. The height of the box containing the HTML embed in Design view is important. It sets the minimum size of the output "div" and it also establishes the distance you'd like to have maintained between the item and what's below it. Thus in this case bottom of your HTML embed will remain above the top of the left side bar and when the HTML item ends up being much bigger on the live page everything will shift down.
To fix this resize the HTML embed object in Muse Design view tall enough to contain a typical item from the module tag.

It works fine, but I see no way of controlling the font size
of the text in the myText.txt file. I've tried putting a
<font> tag in the file, but that did not work. I tried adding
a line to the action script code above, but that did not work
either. What am I doing wrong, and how can I change the font size,
if it can be done? Thanks.
    Bob

Try other segment of html code into content editor web part and check

  • Lightbox Embedded HTML not working

Hi, I have been building video lightboxes, and once I put the HTML in them, they will work, then go back to displaying the default text.
I uninstalled, and re downloaded the muse software, and tried to build an entire new site from scratch to see if that helped, but the same thing happened.  Works once in preview, then once I add the second lightbox, the first one goes back to the default text and will not display the embedded HTML (Vimeo Video).
Is there an issue with more than one lightbox on a page?  I want to do one for each of the videos on my page, 20-30.
Any help would be appreciated, it just comes out of nowhere with no other changes and has me stumped.

    Hi,
It still sounds like Dave is on the right track with the rich text vs. plain text.
In TextEdit, when you have the file open, under the Format menu at the top of the screen there is an option to toggle to format. Does it say 'Make Plain Text' or 'Make Rich Text'? If it's the former, it's currently Rich Text.
As for the Terminal commands, 'cd' is used to move to a different folder.
    Pedro-Correas-Sexy-Box:Desktop Pedro$ cd Desktop
-bash: cd: Desktop: No such file or directory
In the first line, you're trying to move to a folder called Desktop when you are already at the Desktop level Hence it failing.
    Pedro-Correas-Sexy-Box:Desktop Pedro$ touch test.html
    Pedro-Correas-Sexy-Box:Desktop Pedro$
Many commands do not output anything when they run successfully, as is the case here. You should now have an empty file on the Desktop called 'test.html'.
PS. If you want to post code, enclose the section you want to post between {code} tags to prevent the forum software mangling it.
