  • Help... IPhone down the loo problem again

I dropped my iPhone down the loo yesterday which seems to happen to a lot of people.  I have read some of the other topics on here but I still have a question. It was down the loo for a mere second and I dried it off as best I could. It seemed to be fine and I even received a phone call on it and I was really relieved! I knew it needed charging as the battery was on red, but I have never left the battery to die I've always kept in on and charged. I had to pop out and took the phone with me, I received a phone call and a couple of texts and everything was fine. When I got back it started going funny. I didn't know if it was because it needed the charge though so plugged it in even though it had died. I then went to the forums and did all the rice stuff suggested and I haven't touched it since. It is currently residing in a bag of rice. But because I thought it was ok I had tried to turn it back on before putting it in rice and all I kept getting was a silver apple sign on a black screen and I have no idea what that means.  I know from reading discussions that I should have turned it off and left it but like I said I thought it was fine because it carried on working after the incident....... Please help! Any thoughts? The battery is probably dead but do I dare plug it in? And what about the silver apple? Any help gratefully received, I feel lost without it!! :)

You need to find an Apple authorized Service Center and have it checked out. Very likely that running it prior to completely drying it out fried something (other than the battery).

  • I dropped my iPhone down the toilet! 4s

I dropped my phone down the toilet after a night out!
In the morning after, I found my phone on the floor where it had been drying out over night.
Since this it has been in a bag of rice for 32 hours but still no sign of life.
The top one button had already broken so to switch the phone on it needed to be put on charge or plugged into the computer but both these things haven't sprung the phone into life!
I have heard a red mark should be seen in the charger point to state water damage but I can't see this.
Does this mean there is hope for it to start working again?
And is there anyway to get my information, picture, ect of the phone if it is completely broken?

Your data from the device may have been automatically backed up to icloud. If after 72 hours in the rice the device still does not respond - I'm hoping you have backed up your data to icloud.
    Good luck.

  • I just dropped my iphone and the power botton stopped working and the screen went black i allready tried to connect it to the computer and nothing what can i do

I would instead say you have a problem since nearly all IPs work as advertised.  IF you do have a bad phone, take it into an Apple store and get a replacement.  Hope you didn't jailbreak your phone though as Apple probably will tell you, you broke it, you fix it.

    See if this helps: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#USB
If it does not help, the drop probably damaged something inside the phone.

  • I dropped my phone down the toilet and before I switched it off I sent a text. I have left it to dry out for the last 48hiurs. Is there any hope for my iPhone 5c?

I dropped my phone down the toilet and before I switched it off I sent a text. I have left it to dry out for the last 48hiurs. Is there any hope for my iPhone 5c?

Probably not. First of all, 48 hours is not enough. 5-7 days is better. Secondly, if you did not turn it off the very instant you retrieved it, it probably did worse damage. Even if it powers on, it's very unlikely it will function 100%.

  • I dropped my phone down the toilet and after drying it out for 3 days, it will turn on but turn itself off after several minutes

  • HT1430 i just dropped my iphone and it went black.  is there a reset button?

i just dropped my iphone and it is black.  wont turn on/off, charge, etc.  is there a system reset button?

Hold down both the power button and home button for 10 to 15 seconds
If that doesn't work then the drop broke something inside take it Apple for replacement

  • I dropped my iPhone in the toilet?

So, I was in my bathroom just about to get in the shower while listening to music, being the clumsy person I am, I ended up dropping my iPhone in the toilet. I quickly gathered the iPhone, and placed it in rice. I waited 3 days, and if I plug it into my laptop, it turns on for about 10 seconds (only logo appears) then it shuts off. I was wondering if I visited the Apple Store, would they replace this? I have an iPhone 4.
    Btw, I don't have a warranty.

It was $99 with a contract heavily subsidised by the carrier.
Retail price for a new one without the carrier subsidy is $450.

  • I dropped my phone down the toilet 2 days ago, is there any way of saving it?

I dropped my phone down the toilet and immediately took it out, dried it off and put it in rice overnight. I did try to turn it on (i know i shouldn't have) and it did however the screen was very flickery and could tell there was still water in it so I left it in the rice and haven't taken it out since. I've tried to turn it on as I believe all the water is gone but it won't turn on. I've tried putting it on charge and nothing. It's still in the rice, is there any way at all it will turn on or is it completely dead?
Also, there is no home button, I've been using assistive touch.

There's an almost 100% chance you ruined your iPhone. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • HT4061 Hi, I dropped my phone down the toilet this morning. I took out my SIM so it would do. I put my phone into a bag of rice for about three hours. I tried rebooting it. My phone still isn't turning on-what shall I do?

    This is URGENT-please reply.
I dropped my phone down the toilet this morning. I took the SIM out straight away so it would not get damaged. I put my phone in a bag of rice for almost four hours. I tried to reboot my phone back to it's factory settings like it said on the internet but my phone doesn't connect to Itunes at all. My phone won't turn on. What shall I do?

It would need to be rice for around 7 days ,however trying to turn on has probably fried it so try around 7 days and then when it still doesn't work either exchange for a refurbished iPhone 4 or use the money to get a new one.An iPhone 4 is $149 in US
ps the sim is not likely to be damaged water conducts electricity across all the wrong circuits frying the iPhone

  • Ive just dropped my iphone 3 in water

Ive just dropped my iphone in water and the screen stayed on for a while but now it has switched off. Ive put it in in rice - is there anything else I can do?

Thanks. Only trouble is phone is still on and it won't turn off as the slide action on screen won't work.  Managed to get sim out and that still works luckily but I haven't figured out yet how or if I can get my contacts off icloud!

  • I dropped my iPhone in the sink

i dropped my iphone in the sink when i was washing my hands. it just had water sort of splashed on the screen and i immediately took it out and dried it off and everything was fine. it was sitting for about an hour and i wasn't using it. then when i tried to turn it on and use it nothing happened. like i said, the phone was dried and it was working before. is there any way i can fix this?

    $149
They do not repair .Apple exchange and all returned units are refurbished at The Apple plants in China
So you get a device that looks like and functions like new
Are you familiar with the results of water and electricity mixing
