My (Bionic/Charge/Thunderbolt) keeps losing data signal

Am I the only person that is completely fed up with this?
I've had the Bionic since the day it came out, and I've yet to have a reliable non-WiFi data connection. I live in an area with 3g, and work in an area with 4g...so my phone switches back and forth often.
However, like many of you, I lose my cellular data connection several times a day. This is very, very inconvienient for someone who commutes an hour each way from work (and uses Google Maps or Waze to get traffic updates, listens to music via bluetooth) and who uses their Google Voice number for all phone calls/SMS messages. Not to mention all of the other unusable apps when there is no data connection.
The only thing that works (and is by no means permanant) is restarting the device.
My boss has the Charge and has the same issue, and a good friend of mine has the Thunderbolt...same issue.
I have called Verizon a few times Early on I was told they were aware and it was to be fixed in a software release; it was not. Next I was told to try a few things suggested by Motorola (clearing out cache and cookies in browser, swapping sim card), no fix. After swapping the sim card, I called again out of frustration, and they offered to send me a refurbished Bionic to replace mine. When I expressed my displeasure at that arrangement, they offered tp patch me through to Motorola...which ended up being some far away customer service department that offered the option of sending my phone in for diagnostics. Yeah; I want to be without a phone for a few days...that's a great idea.
Am I alone in thinking this is less a manufacturer issue, and more a Verizon issue? Why am I paying for a monthly data plan that is less than reliable? Is this what AT&T customers are used to feeling like?
This is my 4th Android phone (Droid, Droid Incredible, Droid X) and the only one I have had a major problem with. I'm beyond frustrated, and not sure what I should do at this point.

When you rooted did you install a newer version of the radio for the phone? There are always new version rolling out that you can choose from. That was an issue with the Thunderbolts initially, then the new version of the radio came along and data issues were solved for the most part.
If you don't want to go as far as flashing a new version of the radio and or putting a custom ROM on it and just wait for the VZW update this work around should work to keep you from having to restart the phone to get the data connection back.
Menu, settings, Wireless & Networks, then make sure Mobile Network or Mobile Internet (Which ever one your phone has) is checked and turned on.
This is what is most likely causing your phone to drop the data connection and never connect again until a reboot.
Its an issue with the battery saving part of the software, its designed to shut off the data connection when lost and stay off for a certain amount of time before it try's to connect again to keep the battery from being drained.
This happens a lot with my Thunderbolt, and it is annoying, but until we get a major update (Hopefully Ice Cream Sandwich) this work around is better than rebooting each time .

I have the same problem, I think. I dont lose wifi signal, the mba stays connected to the router the whole time. Pings also seem unaffected by this problem. The problem is that web pages seem to load intermittently, in other words, it loads a page in 2 minutes. It loads:
the first 25% in the first 5 seconds
the next 25% in the next 50 seconds
the next 25% in the next 5 seconds
the last 25% in the last 50 seconds
Its quite annoying considering this can be as simple a page as goolge search results or even google.com.
I thought it was my ISP and i even made a big racket about it, switched ISPs and I have the same problem.
With the previous ISP I had a cisco router. This new ISP supplied their own modem/wifi. That doesnt seem to be the problem.
Im thinking its a config issue on my mba. I have the latest updates to ML.
Any ideas?

Keep losing wireless signal

My 9300 keeps losing its wireless signal. I phoned and was told to connect to a different network and then connect back to Vodafone which worked for a couple of days but I keep losing and going to GSM and then have to connect to a different network and back to Vodafone.

I assume you are running OS X 10.5.5. Try these simple maintenance routines:
Repair Permissions - /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app. Start Disk Utility, select your HD and click on Repair Permissions. When finished, quit Disk Utility and then restart your computer.
Reset PRAM - hold down Option-Command-P-R keys when starting until you hear the startup chime a 2nd time.
Safe Mode Startup - hold down the Shift-key at startup until you see the login screen. When logged-in, then go to System Preferences/Network/AirPort, click on the 'Network Name:' roll-button, select 'Join Other Network...', enter 'Network Name and select the security type you are using, and finally, enter your Password and click 'Join'. Then, click the 'Apply' button and exit System Preferences.
How are you connected to the internet - DSL model > AEBn WAN port? Check your AEBn Internet setup. Open AirPort Utility, select your AEBn, Manual Setup, Internet - is 'Connection Sharing:' set to 'Off (Bridge Mode)' - set to this if not.
Now check System Preferences/Network/AirPort/ - click on 'Advanced', TCP/IP and confirm that 'Configure IPv4:' is set to 'Using DHCP'.
The above two paragraphs assume that your ISP uses a DHCP server to distribute IP addresses (normally the case).

Nokia 5800 keeps losing wifi signal

When i connect to the internet, ovi store, google maps....anything that requires a connect on my nokia 5800 using my wi-fi it only stays connected for about 30-60 seconds then it says connection lost, it makes using wifi at home just impossible. There is nothing wrong with my internet as i conect to my modem with my ps3, psp and laptop and never ever lose signal. The signal strength on the nokia 5800 is over 80% and am never more then 10 feet away from modem but still constanly loses signal.....please help

I am also having the same problem I have to wireless routers in my house never had any problems before connecting to them but just this past week it my phone keeps losing connection and if I do a refresh it picks them up but once I try to connect. I get the messiah no wlan connections available.
Am thinking of contacting orange and asking for a replacement after all I do pay the £5 a month insurance.

WRT300N keeps losing wireless signal

My WRT300N wireless router keeps dropping its signal on my apple laptop and PS3. Its been doing this for months. One day it works fine with no problems and the next day I won't have a signal every other 15 minutes.
Any ideas? Let me know if you need more info.

First check the direct connection from your modem, connect a computer straight to the modem and see if you have a stable connection...If you have stable connection from your modem then you need to upgrade your router's firmware...
Download the firmware from here
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful" After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...You should get a stable connection now...

Keep losing the signal while call is running

Dears,
my problem is in my new phone Z3 Dual, every thing in the phone is good and running properly but i noticed one problem recently.
when i receive calls or starting calls, some time the signal is suddenly lost and call broke and i lose the phone call then it works again.
my sim is nano sim and works just fine.

1. contact your carrier/network and ask for any network coverage issues
2. get a brand new NANO SIM card, don't get a regular SIM card and cut it
3. repair the phone with PCC or Bridge
4. DO NOT install any antivirus or taskillers or battery apps, sweepers etc.

WRT160N keeps losing wireless signal

I'm not sure what it might be - the "wireless" light always stays on but my wireless devices continually get kicked off and then lose their connection for quite some time. even powering off the router and waiting doesnt bring back the connection - my wired devices have no problem staying connected though. Do I have a bad router or what might be causing the disconnect?

how many wireless computers are you using?
if there are more than one wireless computers and
only one is having a problem then you may also need to update
the wireless adapter on your computer.
are all the wireless computers experiencing the same issue?
try to check the firmware version of your router :
first determine the default gateway
         for xp:
                    1. click start > goto Run
                    2. type cmd > click Ok
                    3. type ipconfig
                    4. take note of the default gateway
                        ex. 192.168.1.1
                    5. launch Internet Explorer
                    6. type the Default Gateway on the address bar
                    7. press Enter
                    8. type your router password and leave the username (empty)
                    9. check the firmware on the top right corner of the page.!

Keep losing internet signal

I have a modem through Comcast and a regular, bought-at-Best-Buy router and up till a month or so ago, they've been working well. Not perfectly, granted, 'cause eventually even the best routers need to be rebooted (at least, in my experience), but lately it's been a lot worse.
Sometimes I'll be watching something on hulu (constantly streaming is the best way to diagnose this problem) and the show will suddenly stop and the buffer will show that they've only got 1 out of 5 going. When this happens, I have to click on Airport, turn it off and wait at least 30 seconds to get it going again. Then, it's fine. Usually. Sometimes I have to hit the power switch on the power strip that the modem and router are plugged into, but not that often. And this happens on both computers, and occasionally on my iPhone as well.
I think it's clear that it's a communication issue between the router/modem and the computers. What isn't clear to me is how to fix it. I don't want to buy a new router if I absolutely don't have to.
Any advice?

What is your regular router? What speeds have you contracted from Comcast? Are they delivering? Realize that when many people are on the same channel as you that things slow down so you might want to try changing the channel as a first step. Then run some speed test from: http://www.speedtest.net/
just to see if Comcast is delivering what they promise.

Keep losing mobile data signal

I'm using an Android nexus 5, Android 5.1. Since joining BT I keep intermittently losing data signal. For example I can have full signal with the little H shoeing by the signal bars, but then it randomly changes to and ! Instead of the H, and I can use anying with data. It eventually comes beck. It's not specific to the area as I've been in a whole different county and it still does it. It can't be signal strength either because its full H, and when it eventually comes back it's still full H, it's even still full signal when it shows the !.
I've taken a screen shot but can't see how to post it here.

The exclamation mark is a feature of the Nexus phone Android system.
It doesn't show on the Galaxy S5 when the data connection is lost.
Looks as if you really are losing the signal intermittently.
Not much consolation, but have you looked on the (nexus) forums
When the exclamation mark is there go to settings.
In the Settings listing there should be an "About" section.
In that section look at "status".
This should tell you what the network connection is currently.

I have bought my 5th generation iPod and have not done anything to it that will cause to malfunction in anyway. But im getting annoyed that a lot of times i connect by black video iPod into my Windows Xp computer. Then iTunes pops out. I click on the iPod on the left and its WHITE!? Then i check how much space its used and it says 1.5 g data used? I normally have around 6.3 g.
I just lost all my videos and photos but i still have the songs for some reason. Then i always have to keep updating it cause everytime i connect i keep losing data.
Basically, when i connect my iPod a lot of stuff gets erased and i have to keep updating it.

well umm of course it appears WHITE because it cant detect that your ipod is black and it sounds like you reset it or deleted your videos on your computer and lost them in the ipod last time you connected

E4200 - Losing Internet Signal

Trying to figure out our internet problem. Not sure if it's the ISP or router! Keep losing net signal. Thought it was the modem but last time I checked it & modem looked fine. Router light wasnt steady. It dropped twice after I rebooted both, and the router's light was flashing each time. ISP shows no drops from modem. We had a storm roll through Tuesday but there were no outages in my area & the router is plugged into a surge protector.It's an E4200.

If modem's internet connection is working fine then probably it's with the router. Are you experiencing the problem wired or wirelessly thru the router? If both then what I would suggest is that you change some settings on the router. For the wired connection, you try lowering down the mtu set on the router. For the wireless connection issue, you can change the wireless settings like changing the network name for the 5Ghz network and 2.4Ghz network, changing the channel and changing the wireless security.
