My Blackberry fell into an orange juice!

Yesterday, on the evening, I fell my blackberry into an orange juice that I believe contains sugar. I didn't notice it until about 5 minutes later. Then after that, I take the battery out and trying to dry my phone using electric pump(because I can't find my hairdryer) for about 5 minutes. The wind come from the pump is really strength so I have to turned it on and off every 2 seconds. Then I made a mistake <br>I thought it was okay, so I put the battery back and try to turned it on. It won't start and the LED just blinking red many times. And stupidly, I'm thinking about using the methods for nuked blackberry, and put the data cable (which I oftenly use as a charger) and connecting it with my computer. Many times. It still won't work.<br><br>Then I try to pull the battery, and leave it behind. A day have gone by. And this evening, I just happened to see this forum. And really regret my action :'(<br>For now, I just put my Blackberry and my battery (separated) in the rice and put it on the refrigerator.<br><br>My question is, is it possible for my Blackberry to work well like before? With the sugar, orange juice, and all the thing I've done that might destroy some part of my Blackberry.<br>Please help! There's so many memories with that phone. Please help! Is there any recommendation or tips or anything that will help?<br>Thanks before :'(

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Given your description, I would not hold out much hope. Applying power to the BB between the time of getting wet and being fully dry increases the chances of causing damage. But, then again, I've seen BBs come back to life immediately and be fine forever. I've seen other BBs take days to come back to life and be fine forever. And I've further still seen BBs seem to come back to life, only to fail later.
Orange juice is highly acidic though, so I honestly don't hold out much hope for your situation. Besides needing to be dried, it also probably needs to be cleaned out as residue will be left behind once it's fully dried, and that residue itself may be corrosive even if completely dry.
I've never heard of the bit of putting it into the refrigerator, though...that's a new one to me. Normally, one puts the dry rice container in a very warm and dry place -- atop a radiator, on top of electronic gear, etc. Putting it into a cold place is a new one to me...though it is quite dry inside of a fridge. It will be interesting to see how that works out for you.
All in all, there is no way to predict your outcome...it will be what it will be. Hopefully you've been practicing good backup procedures all along to protect the priceless data kept on your device (the device itself is a mere commodity).
Good luck!

  • I got orange juice into my iPhone....Help!

Hi. I managed to knock a glass of orange juice over my iPhone the other night and now I can hardly hear calls. I didn't realise until morning so it had dried in before I could do anything. Everything else is working fine. I'm wondering if there is dried orange juice blocking the fine mesh that covers the ear speaker. Should I clean it with a damp cotton bud? Should I use water or alcohol? Any help greatly appreciated. Max

hi again. The sound is fixed but now the on/off button is working only intermitently. I was thinking of swabbing ethanol around the button and into the hole around the button. Is this a terrible idea? My phone is under warranty but I hear apple doesn't cover water damage.

  • Ipod fell into a puddle of water, now what?

Ok, I was getting out of the car and my ipod fell out of my pocket and onto a puddle of water. I picked out the ipod out of the water and I drained water out of the bottom and my screen had that foggy look. Has this happen to anyone and if so what did you do? Should I leave it alone for it to dry out and then turn it on? Or should I go ahead and send it to Apple to have them fix it?
    Thanks on any info.

Dropping your ipod in a puddle of water while getting out of the car is considered accidental damage and is not covered under either the ipods one year limited hardware warranty as well as the and extended warranty you have purchased (i.e applecare) if you send the ipod into apple they will do tests on it to determin weither are damage has been done to it. when they open the case if they see any water damage they will NOT fix it. example: i bought a motorolla razer had it two weeks and while i was in the kitchen cooking dinner my brother accidentally spilled orange juice on it while getting a drink. it ***** i know, but making sure you take care of your electronics is your own responsibility on apple's. try ipodresq.com i heard they were good.
    good luck

  • I got orange juice in my phone! Help!

Hi. I recently managed to leave my iPhone in a pool of orange juice overnight and now the on/off switch only works intermitently. I am planning on swabbing the button with isopropyl alcohol. Is this a bad idea? Many thanks for your help.

  • Accidentally Moved Blackberry Messenger Into Wrong Folder - How Do I Move Back?

Hi Guys, I accidentally moved Blackberry Messenger into the SMS and MMS Folder instead of just moving the icon around.
Please advise how I move it out of this folder and back to the Home Screen?
    Thanks,
    PETER

Scroll to the icon > press the Menu key > Move to Folder > and choose which one you would like it put in, Home Screen, if that is where you want it.

  • My iPod Touch Fell Into The Tub!

My iPod Touch fell into the tub. Within 1 to 2 seconds I got it out immediately. It was on when it fell into the tub. After retreiving it I set it on the floor and turned it off. After completing my errands I set it on the nearby stand. As I was finishing up I saw a flash of light go on and off. For the last couple of days I thought it was just completely dead until I figured out that if you press the "home/menu" button and swipe your hand where the "unlock screen" should be you hear the click. You can also hear the click when I turn my iPod off. Also, I have put it in extreme lighting and tilted it a certain way and could see the home menu with all the different apps. You have to strain to see that. I could make out the utilities button and clicked on it to see if adjusting the brightness would help anything. It is up the whole way and it doesn't make a difference. The screen is still as dark as can be. I clicked on the music button and chose the nearest song and it played perfectly. I have also clicked on apps and you can hear the noise even though the screen is so dark that you have to strain to see anything and put it under the brightest light in the world. Please help!!! I'm not exactly sure what the problem is exactly. The screen isn't cracked or anything like that.
THINGS THAT HAVE NOT WORKED ON FIXING MY IPOD
    1. Nearest Apple Store is WAY out of my way.
    2. Tried adjusting the brightness.
    3. Put in a bowl of uncooked rice. (I'm sure there wasn't any water in it to begin with.)
    4. Pressed home/menu button and sleep/power button at same time and 8 to 15 seconds in released sleep/power button while still holding the home button and released.
    5. Updating iTunes software.

Even though you don't believe water enter into it, the fact that it's not working properly confirms that it did get wet inside. It apears that the LCD panel backlight is not functioning. the only cure for this is to have the LCD panel replaced. Hopefully nothing else will fail later due to the water damage. Hope this Helps.

  • My droid maxx fell into a deep puddle got out as quickly as I could what do i need to do to make it work again

My droid maxx fell into a deep puddle of water just a few moments ago .  Got it out as fast as I could  but can't take battery out for the droid maxx what do i do?

While there is nothing you can do to guarantee it will work again, there are things you can do to increase the chances.
Dry it off as best you can with a towel or some type of cloth. Do not try to turn it back on. If it is on, turn it off as soon as possible to lessen the chance of shorting out the phone. Place it in a sealed plastic bag with a dessicant for several days. Something similar to THIS would work best. They are the little bags which come in shoes/electronics to keep moisture from them, but if you do not have ready access put the phone in a sealed plastic bag filled with uncooked rice.
Leave it in for several days before taking it out and giving it a try.

  • How to I fix a phone that fell into water?

My phone fell into water is there any hope of saving it?? Suggestions are also welcome.

You can try placing the phone in a ziplock bag filled with rice for two to three days. The rice absorbs the water. But if the water has damaged the iPhone then Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

    Hello jthompsonn25,
I'm sorry to hear about your iPhone and the issues you are having with Messages on your Mac. If you are trying to send iMessage messages in Messages, your iMessage account should be tied to your Apple ID (same account name and password). If you are having password issues in Messages, you may want to verify that you have the correct password by logging in to your Apple ID directly:
    Apple - My Apple ID
If you are unable to or are still getting an error message with your password, you may need to reset the password on your Apple ID. If that is the case, you may find the following article helpful:

    Sincerely,

my iPhone 5 fell into the water and a writing like that appeared with the apple sign. (when its turning on) but it is now a gray screen and it is not working, nor can i connect it to my laptop.

You're seriously trying to use an electronic device that's been in contact with water????
You do know that since th beginning of time water and electricity don't mix, right?
Start being smart and top trying to use it NOW, and put it in a bag of rice for a week.

can apple replace my iphone if it fell into water

Certainly. But you have to pay. It's called an "out of warranty replacement".

Iphone 5 fell into a mud pit ,need repair .Where I take to repair.in Key Biscayne.Thank's

Take it to any Apple store and they will replace it for $229. If you purchased AppleCare+ when you bought the phone it will be only $49. I think the nearest Apple store to you is in Miami, but you may know of a closer one.

If you have an Apple store in your city, that would be the place to start...an Apple store genius bar can help.  Damage of this kind is considered out-of-warranty damage by Apple and not covered by the warranty.  Replacement of an iPhone 5 is $229 in the US, but not sure of the conversion to Brazilian currency.

  • An SD card accidentally fell into the DVD slot. Any easy eay to retrieve it?

An SD card accidentally fell into the DVD slot of my imac. Is there an easy way to get it out ?

If you are extremely careful you may be able to use gravity to remove the SD card from the optical drive slot. Here's how I did it using two people, one to hold the iMac, and one to gently guide the SD card through the optical drive slot. Do so at your own risk. Take it in to a trained professional if you have any concerns about damaging the iMac.
    1) Carefully inspect the optical drive slot. Recessed inside the slot you will see a grey cloth looking 'cloth' cover over the slot. This cover is split down the middle to allow the disc to pass through. It helps keep dust out of the iMac. It it this cover that you will need to open in order for the SD card to be removed.
    2) Place a towel onto a table to protect the iMac's finish.
    3) Ask your helper to turn the iMac on its side resting on the towell for support. The iMac's optical drive slot should be hanging out over the edge of the table so that you can access it.
    4) Use a couple of business cards or a stack of 6 Post-It-Notes as a tool to slide into the slot to locate and remove the SD card.  IMPORTANT: DO NOT insert the paper tool more than 1/2 inch into the optical drive. The paper tools must not touch the optical pickup assembly.
Here are some other methods that people have used:
