    I had a HP3052 whith a scaner message error 5 which can't print anymore. Anyway scanning with this HP is not supported anymore. So looking into the huge HP compatibility list on the web I see no good choice:

    The new HP LaserJet M127fn MFP  duplex is not even on this list...
    I prefer laser than ink printers (I hate buying cartridges every month or have the system stuck with dry ink when not used for a month).
    There are some good brother laserprinters, e.g. MFC7860DW, but PC-Fax doesn't work on Mac (I believe).

    mainly because more and more people seem to have bad experiences with HP printers in the $150-$300 range and manufactured in recent years;

  • New officejet 6600 - Can't scan or fax, printing A-ok. Using wireless.

    Hi I have read and tried every thread on this topic. it is now 6 hours later and about 30 restarts, installs, re-installs and re-re installs, oh and full uninstalls, each time turing off firewall and anti-virus. Microsoft paint won't work either, but the printer shows up in the windows scan and fax, but just hangs when trying to connect. I have tried HP printer and scanner trouble shooter recognizes the printer but when scan trouble is selected hangs also on drivers. What else.. umm I tried most of the help topics here... so who is up to the challange of this one. Windows 7 machine. I  had a office jet 6700 connected last week worked great at work, so bought this 6600. I thought conflict but uninstalled all hp files and reinstalled using hp installation package. Followed thread on regestry updating, and services.msc. I read about reg edit or mechanic, have used AVG reg cleaner, but disabled it for the install.

  • When will there be scan and fax drivers for kyocera FS-C2126 MFS

    I am new to MAC OS X and was a bit astonished that the MFP printers manufactured by kyocera are not supported any more regarding scan and fax option. This was not really clear to me when I checked their driver homepage a few weeks ago. I managed to get at least printing work on my FS-C2126 with their drivers but kyocera support told me that scanning and fax is not supported under os x 10.7.x neither via USB nor via ethernet. From their side there's no plan to provide a new driver, they told me to ask apple about that issue. Thats a bit frustrating as the kyocera printers are commonly used in business environment and I cannot beleive that there should be no way to use them in combination with a mac...
    Does anyone know a solution for these issues? Maybe a (commercial?) third party software? I could not find any clues in the internet. I already checked SANE for scandrivers but there are none.
    What's your experience with apple regarding these things? Is it likely the'll provide drivers from their side?
    Any help is welcome.

    I totally agree but for whatever reason they don't at the moment....
    I just read that apple is providing updated printer driver packages sometimes (they just released packages for samsung, canon, gestedner etc.) so it seems they do take care about these issues.

    Were you migrating from a Time Machine backup or via WiFi, ethernet, or Firewire?

    I assume that you have installed new RAM in your MBP.
    It would be helpful if you indicated the EXACT model/year MBP that you have.
    What the the RAM specifications that you are trying to install?

    This is more about your modem then anything. Sometimes you'll need to unplug and plug back in your modem. Consider it a glitch from the ISP or just the modem in general.
    when I need to turn something off then on I try the modem first. This when I'm not doing any ware and tare to the device.

    See if the Disk is issuing any S.M.A.R.T errors in Disk Utility...

    Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
    How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
    Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
    In the Memory tab of Activity Monitor, are there a lot of Pageouts?

    Scanning to a computer from the front panel only allow scanning to a computer with Windows or Mac OS X, not to a tablet as I understnd from your information.
    From iPad you may scan by initiating the scan from the HP AIO Printer Remote app, not from the printer itself.

    icloud has worked perfectly. now a message comes up saying" it has stopped working and microsoft will attempt to fix the problem". I have signed out and signed back in. restarted the computer. no luck. Any ideas?

    First thing I would try would be to remove the battery from your MacBook, connect the computer to it's power adapter and start up, then see if the keyboard and trackpad work normally. Some older batteries have been known to expand and interfere with keyboard and trackpad. If this works, replace the battery.

  • Mail won't stop fetching, and doesn't find it all

    I'm on Mail 2.1. When Mail goes to check my pop account, it will download the first mail or two and then it just keeps the little circle spinning. When I look at the activity viewer, it says "Fetching new mail" "Fetching 15 of 15 <subject of the email>" and the progress bar is the little barber pole guy - not moving. I've literally waited for this all day, just to see if I was being impatient when it would stall for a few minutes, and it still hasn't worked. I know there's mail out there since I can check it with the web interface.
    I have checked the forums, and tried all of the following tricks I found (not all at once, but separately), and still no joy:
    1. Getting rid of what I thought was the "offending" email with the web mail interface, and in fact, clearing out the entire box, and then sending myself a test message from another email account.
    2. Disabling my Rules AND turned off the "Enable Junk Mail Filtering" checkbox in preferences.
    3. Removing the "MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded" and "MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2" files.
    4. Removing the "Envelope Index" and "Envelope Index-journal" files.
    5. Moving the entire ~/Library/Mail folder out onto my desktop and re-importing my mailboxes. (Which, by the way, is a real pain.)
    Using the Get Info command, i can see all of the mail up there, however, that only works when I take my account (in Mail's preferences) off of the "Include when automatically checking for new Mail", and it isn't spinning and spinning. If it's spinning, then the Get Info doesn't work, either.
    Also, another person on our network here is using Mail and the same POP provider and is having no issues at all (so it must be something on my account or my computer).
    Does anyone have any other route for me to take?

    Try this to determine the scope of the problem:
    1. Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accounts, and create a new user account for testing purposes.
    2. Either log out of your main user account or just quit Mail so that it does not interfere with the other user account.
    3. Log in as the newly created user and set up Mail anew there.
    4. If this is a POP account, go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Advanced and disable Remove copy from server after retrieving a message if it’s enabled.
    5. Check whether the problem also happens when logged in as another user.
    Also, try using a different method to connect to Internet, if possible, or connecting the computer to Internet as directly as possible, i.e. bypassing any routers that might be present, using an ethernet cable instead of wireless, etc., and see whether that makes a difference.
    I'd rather get emails on this issue where I'm sure to
    get them at my email account that is my alias.
