My iPhone 4 has died. I was just surfing the net on my phone (a reputable hotel site), put my phone down to make a cuppa and now the screen is dead.
Nothing I do will bring the screen back. Phone had around 30% charge and I'm charging it now but still nothing.
I've tried all the available buttons. It won't even show it turning on or off. There's a small hole in the side.... should I try putting a paperclip in there to reset it or is that not what it's for?
My husband just sent me a message and it hasn't come through.

the small hole in the side is the sim card. Don't touch it
Hold the home button, the round one on the bottom and the on/off one , on the top, together. Hold them till you see the apple logo. Let it reset.

I solved my own problem. Hopefully this will help someone else.
I did a DFU restore, then started it up as a new phone on iTunes. Everything loaded properly, then from iTunes did a restore from backup, selected the one I wanted and it still took me to the same screen with 3 options of restore. I chose the start up as new phone from the actual phone and after all the syncing was completed, my phone is back in working order. -
Hi my iPhone 4S has no signal bars but shows the network carriers name and the 3G icon but just doesn't have no siganl bars but it was working fine till today then all of a sudden lost signal what do i do any help much appreciated
I've been experiencing with the same problem lately. Have you tried getting a new sim card?
With the new sim it seems to work well for a few days and then it goes back to the same problem. The warranty on my phone just ended about a month ago, and I've never dropped it and no water damage either. When I do a erase all and reset, it seems to work for a few days again and comes back to the same issue. I've deleted all my apps and been using the phone just as a phone and txting device. New IOS update doesn't seem to change this issue either. I've been getting by with doing a network reset and turning it off and on a few times a day.
Anyone have any solution? Much appreciated! -

My iphone 5 has "died" on the charger - it will not charge or switch on. I have tried to restore the phone as apple suggest. This was restoring for 5 hours then an error appeared saying it could not be restored. What should i do now? Take it back? I'm really disappointed with this fault as I need my phone on a daily basis.

I had the issue exactlly same as yours. My iPhone5 was died suddently after fully chagred . It couldn't be turned it on whatever tried . I called Apple technical support and it suggested me to bring my iPhone 5 to the nearest Apple store. In Apple store last night, the tichnical staff spent couple of hours tried to turn it on. Finally they decided to give me a new iPhone 5 to replaced the died one.
The big concern for me is I have a lot of private data in my died iPhone 5, I was asking if I can keep the died one but it seems Apple wants to take it back and "fix" it then give it some else as "service part" - my understanding it is refurbished phone.
Good thing for me was they eveually turn it on, so I am able to erase all my private data from the "died" phone. Make sure you erase all your private data before walking out store. -
My iPhone 5s has stopped playing music out of the speakers. It works when I plug in my headphones but other than that there's no sound. It just randomly happened so I'm not sure if I can fix it or if I need to bring my phone in. Help?

You need to use the credentials for the iCloud account that was used to turn on the Find my iPhone service.
If you can't remember yours, you can recover it here: https://iforgot.apple.com/appleid
If you've been walking around for 2 years with someone else's account set up for Find my iphone, then you'll have to get hold of that individual. If you can't, there is no way to bypass activation lock. -

Yes, if you have been backing up on a regular basis.
If this is your first time backing up, then no.
you can check edit - preference - backup - see what is listed -
I recently got the iPhone 5s and I transferred all of my music, pictures, etc. over from my iPhone 5. My music was playing fine the day I got it (2 days ago) and now my music skips, stops in the middle of the songs, or just stops playing and exits. It was just working and now it wont. What is wrong? What can I do?
Not sure if this will help but a reset is the first thing to try. To reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

My iPhone 4 has never backed up to anything, the account I started it with I never used so I was never able to verify it or anything. I now have a new icloud account and I want to backup my phone before I get a new one in a couple of days. If I delete the old account will I lose my photos or will they still be on my phone (remember they've never been backed up)? Thanks!
You cannot delete an Apple ID, you can just stop using it. If your photos are still on your phone now, then I suggest you do back them up. Transfer them from the phone into your iPhoto Library. iCloud only backs up your Camera Roll automatically. But the Camera Roll only contains new photos that were taken but not yet transferred using iTunes.

I am trying to reorganise my apps on my iphone via the new itunes software, you don't seem to be able to move one app at a time to a different screen, just move the screens around, what am I doing wrong

The button on my Ipod Touch (the big one just below the screen) will not work when I press it. Nothing happens, when before it would wake my IPod out of sleep mode, and exit out of programs I was using (ex. ITunes or Safari to main screen) . Now, no reactions. When I press the button, it appears to be more indented then it was before. What should I do? Do I need to get it fixed or replaced, or is this a problem I can fix on my own? Not with they limited information you have provided so far. Are you backing up to iCloud or to iTunes on your computer? Do you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer? Was it installed from a Windows or Mac user ID that had administrator privileges? Does the phone show up in iTunes? What is your operating system? Are you using a USB port directly on your computer (not a hub)? If it's a USB port on the computer and you have a desktop or tower computer is the port on the back, not on the front? -
I had my photo stream on and my icloud all set up, i just had the screen replaced and they somehow lost all the photos off my phone, but why wont the photo's reload back on to my iphone now that im connected to wifi again, where are all my photos???
When photos are added to the photo stream album on a device (either due to a new photo having been taken or having been synced from another device using the stream) they remain in the album. However, the syncing process involves copying the photos to the photo stream server where they are kept for a maximum of 30 days, up to 1000 photos. If a device is reset or the stream is turned off or turned back on again (or in your case, the device was repaired), the photos that were on the device's photo stream album are gone and the only ones to appear are those that are currently on the servers (recall the 30 day limit).
If some of your photos are older than 30 days, then they are no longer stored on the cloud and hence are not synced down to the iphone.
Recall, photo stream is just a syncing service, it is not designed as a storage service for photos. Always sync photos to a computer for archiving.
