My iphone battery goes from 90% to 1% in 10-15 min  sometimes even without using it

My iphone battery goes from 90% to 1% very quickly sometimes in 10-15min, sometimes even if im not using my phone!
I may have 50% left at times and the phone will shut down and I won't be able to turn it in again until I charge it. When i charge it it turns back on with 50% battery! I don't get it.
I tried doing a reset and it didmnt help.
please help!
thanks

It sounds as if a process is locked. Since the reset did not work, then try a restore. First restore from a backup, and if that does not work, then restore as new. If a restore as new does not work, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar or Authorized Apple Service provider, depending on your location, and have the hardware checked.

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • My battery goes down, even without using the iPad and locking it

I've got an iPad 2 with the smart cover, but it's battery goes down quite quickly, even without using it and having locked it.

When the screen is dark, it's still on, unless you've completely powered down.  So, things that can cause battery drain (just to name a few) could include:
    1.  Searching for a WiFi or 3G signal if not locked on to one.......
    2.  Having push on for mail, causes the iPad to seek new mail messages, eating up battery power
    3.  Having location services on can eat up battery power
If you want to preserve the battery, shut it down when it's not going to be used for a few hours.  And if you've got a WiFi version and you're not in one place, turn WiFi off, so your iPad isn't constantly searching for a WiFi signal.

  • Iphone 5s going from 9% battery to 1% battery

if my iPhone 5s battery is going from 9% and then to 1% is that something i should worry about or not?

Battery problems normally do not appear in the Usage and Diagnostics content.  If you want, it never hurts to make an appointment and take the iPhone to your Apple store genius bar and have it tested.  That would give peace of mind if it is nothing, or give you options if there is a problem.  The techs have the tools to find out for sure if something is going on.

  • Any answer why my iphone battery goes off in half a day ..and when i charge my iphone get heat up ??

Hi, I have noticed from last few days that my iphone 5 battery goes up by the i reach home from office then i have to recharge it .... also when i charge it usually gets heat up ... ??? what can we do please suggest

I'd guess someone else DOES have your icloud ID and is giving you grief.  You may not have given it out, but they may have seen the ID somewhere.  I would change the password of your icloud account.

  • Battery going from 70% to 0% in seconds.

I've been having a problem lately with my PowerBook going from a decent battery capacity to zero. Usually I am watching something on YouTube or another video. I've had my battery settings at "Better Energy Savings". I got a new battery during the recall...could it be my battery is on the fritz? My computer is working just fine save for the battery issue.

There have been issues with the recall batteries not lasting a long time. One sign of a lithium battery on it's last legs is when it drops to zero without warning. Typically this happens below 50%, however, as opposed to yours dropping from 70%. You might try contacting either Apple support or your local Apple store to see if they would replace the battery.
You've probably already read how to maintain the battery at http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html

Do that repeatedly and you soon will have a completely useless battery on your hands.
Solution - charge it up BEFORE it auto shuts off on you.
Repeatedly deep cycling a Lithium cell will ruin it much faster than charging it when only partially discharged.

  • Battery goes from 100% to 43% in 7 hrs with no usage (iPhone 3G OS 3.1.2)

So I charged my phone up completely last night before I went to bed. It was showing 100% battery life. Normally what I do at night is I'll put it in Airplane mode to disable all the radios in it, not only to preserve battery life, but also so it won't wake me up in the middle of the night when I get email. I woke up this morning, turned it on, and found it was showing around 43% battery, and it wasn't doing anything all night!
The only thing out of the ordinary was I left it on the dock overnight, but with the computer off (obviously.) Would the dock actually drain power from the phone? Or do I have something else going on here? It's been exhibiting abnormal battery drain throughout the day, and I've hardly used it.
I just got this thing a few weeks ago (refurb through AT&T). I'm sure out of all the things Apple might refurb on these things, the battery is not one of them.

    Copied from this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
If the device is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Don't leave your iPhone connected to your computer when it is turned off tonight, and there should be a difference especially when enabling Airplane mode.
I believe a new battery is installed when an iPhone is refurbished.

  • My iPhone 3GS battery goes from 65% to nothing and crashes. What cani I do?

AFter my battery gets to around 65% it just shuts down. What can I do to fix this problem?

My 3GS is almost 2yrs old and only has 1 small minor crack next to the dock connector.  It's barely even noticeable.
Going through 10 seperate devices in 2yrs is ridiculous.  I could see 3 or 4 being bad luck... 10 is the user being too rough on the device.
Frankly, your posting is the first I've heard of "Apple using inferior materials".  If that were truly the case, there would be postings all over the Internet and it would be big news on TV and in the papers.  You saw the fiasco over the supposed antenna issue on the iPhone4, correct?
If you are going to continue to use iPhones, I would strongly suggest you get an Otterbox case to keep it in and never remove it from the case.

  • Q5 battery going from 50% to 0%

Hi. Please my phone suddenly goes off once the battery gets to about 50% and it wouldn't come on again. If I plug it, it starts charging again from 50%. What might be the cause?

Mostly likley the on-device battery meter is off-sync with the actual battery charge.
Try this, to reset the on-device meter... with your Q5 connected to the wall outlet charger, let it charge an hour or so, and then KEEP IT CONNECTED and POWERED ON.
Press and hold the top edge power button for about 30 seconds and keep it pressed until you see the screen go black and the red LED blink. Let go and let it reboot. Press the power key again after 30 secs if the reboot screen "BlackBerry" does not show in a minute.
You should see improvement. Do it again tomorrow if not, it might take 2-3 times doing this.

  • IPhone preorder goes from bad to worse

I was up early Friday and received a call back from a sales rep I spoke with on Thursday. So far OK. However the 6+ was already not available for 9/19 delivery by then. So we completed order for 2 6's for 9/19 and a 6+ for 10/7.  Received order confirmations. But the late Saturday received email to call Verizon. First order for 2-6's was on hold because Visa kicked back the "test" transaction. Easily remedied as they ran the charge again. Once it looks OK it comes back off until ship date. However the 6+ order was on the system but "empty" and wasn't going anywhere. So it had to be cancelled and preordered again pushing delivery to 10/28 and losing free overnight shipping in favor of 2-day shipping. The rep apparently put in a "jump the line request" but who knows since order confirmation still says 10/28 and a check of the order online still says "in process".
But there's more! I specifically ordered 2-64 GB 6's: one space gray and one gold. But apparently (and I missed this in all the other issues) it got put in as a silver and a gold (basically both "white"). So I have no idea how I'll resolve that one. I don't want my wife and I to both have white, plus I just don't care for white. But phones are already at FedEx facility for delivery on Friday.
So, am I only one not having fun in this whole process. I've been a long time Android user and decided to make the switch this time. Started out being excited but now I'm just disgusted with the whole thing.
Anyone one else have preorder day horror stories?
    Thanks!

        scampbel,
Right off the bat, I apologize for the problems with the pre-order of your iPhone 6. Upgrading is exciting and we don't want this to take away from that. It's important to get all the details correct. If the color is incorrect, we need to cancel the order as you will get what was confirmed. Please reply to my Direct Message to move on to next step.

  • IBook battery goes from 58% to 0% help!!

Hi! When using my iBook on battery when the battery is at about 58% it goes straight to 0% help!
    ~Matt

How old is the battery? The typical lifespan of a lithium-ion battery is two to three years. Some last a bit longer than that, some not quite that long.
The behavior you are seeing is rather typical of a battery at the end of its lifespan.
You can try _calibrating the battery_ (which sometimes makes the battery status indicator more accurately reflect the true status of the battery's charge), but if that (and/or resetting the PMU) doesn't help, chances are you need to replace the battery.

  • Can Apple Support Help - My Battery goes from 40% to 0% if i take a picture, when recharge it goes back to 40% within 1 min.

    I have a iphone 5.
I have noticed that when I do anything that could drain the battery, such as take a photograph, the iphone shuts right down and I get a picture indicating I have no charge and that I need to plug in and recharge.
Within 2 mins of doing this the battery indicates the same power level which it was when I started to take the picture, say 30%.
Do I have a battery or hardware or a software problem, if so is there a fix.

You should get your phone checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place.
You can also contact Apple Support and talk to them. They can check the battery online.
You can also visit this page to do that: iPhone - Contact Support - Apple Support
Click on Apple Support, then on ->Battery, Power &Charging ->Battery questions and troubleshooting, and follow the instructions.

Upon charging my MacBook Pro 13", it fully charges to 100% but not even a minute later, suddenly drops to 93% and then resumes depleting normally.
Anyone know of anything happening like this before? I recently just got my battery replaced so nothing should be wrong with it.

  • IPhone battery impact from streaming while on a dock

If I stream music from my 100% charged phone while it's on a connected charging dock, am I using my battery or the dock's power? If it's using the battery and constantly recharging at the same time how does this relate to battery life being determined by full charging cycles?

If you are using a charging dock, and your phone is fully charged, it will stop charging. If you are using the battery, then the dock will charge the phone. In essence, it is constantly recharging. As with the battery life being determined by full charging cycles, I am not quite sure what you mean. If you mean the cycles the battery does in its lifetime, one full cycle is draining your battery from 100% to 0%, then charging it fully again. Charging it 1% of the time is not technically a full cycle, though some third-party software applications see it is one. It should not effect your battery more than just regular, everyday use in the long run.
