My Iphone is kind of faulty

My iPhone is faulty at the moment and the charger does not work, I've booked an appointment with apple. I just wanted to know if they will change it for an iPhone 5s or 5c as they don't have any iPhone 5 in stock? Will they change it for a 5s or 5c
Thanks

Does your phone charge if you hold the lead when it is inserted into the phone? If it does, then you may hVe a bit of dirt or fluff inside the charging dock which can be cleaned out carefully with your SIM card removal tool.

  • My iphone 4 wont restore my photos from my old iphone 4 that was faulty i have saved them but the only photos that save are the ones of my camera and i cant delete them off?? HELP

I need help I got a repcement iphone 4 on monday because the one i had was faulty! I did the update sunday night to make sure i wouldnt loose everything! I restored the new one on the monday when i got home and i have lost all my photos and some contacts! I am really upset I have had the iphone 3 and wheni restore it with the faulty iphone 4 it worked but not now!  HELPP

what photos are you talking about?
Photos taken with an iPhone are stored in the camera roll.  Like any digital camera, it is advised that you import these into your computer for safe keeping.  That's where the photos should be--back on your computer for you to be able to resynch back to your phone.
As far as contacts, again, it is recommended that you synch your contacts with a contact manager like Outlook or Address Book.  That's where the contacts should reside.
Have you not been using your phone as recommended?  If not, well, now you know why these steps are recommended.  The iPhone is NOT designed as a storage device.

  • New iPhone replacement has a faulty power button.

I have got my iPhone replaced 4 times till now because of various issues with the handset, out of which 2 iPhone replacements have had power button issue, the last replacement that i took from the service center on 6th December 2013, again had a faulty power button out of the box. Due to the same issue recurring for the 3rd time, i called apple customer care on 7th December,2013 and registered a complaint. The response that i have got from the apple engineering team has been highly disappointing. I was told that it was my usage fault and not an hardware fault. How can this be a usage fault if the phone was faulty out of the box. Such a response is not expected from a brand like apple.
This has offended me and i am highly disappointed with such a response from a brand like Apple.

  • Stupid O2 rule on iphone 3g replacements when faulty

    HI
I got my iPhone 3g in FEB 09. and I was having a few problems and the aol account password problem. So last week I took it in for repair.
I got another iphone back which from what I can make out is a refurb.
it starts with a 5 on the serial number.
but the point is this iphone did not even last 24 hours. i was able to restore it after it restarted and locked up at apple boot logo. i was playing the game cops and robbers on it at the time
Ather the rstore i started the reinstall of apps etc and it restarted part wa into the install. and locked up again
The day after I was able to enter recovery mode again and restored it again. but his time when it came to install apps it did a kernal panic and put up a load of text.
I told 02 i wanted a brand new handset as I was not happy the one i got was faulty more than mine was. but i was told NO, 02 do not give out new one's as it was in there terms that they do not.
Is it me or am I getting conned I am not willing to pay £810 for what is a secondhand phone.
I keep trying to look for the terms on 02 website but it keeps saying its down.
And what really stinks is I was told that if I had taken out insurance with 02 i would have got a new iPhone.

Annoying as it is, it is within the law to replace faulty handsets that are within their warranty period with referb units. However you are entitled to a fully working replacement, and not some half working dodgy returned iPhone.
When my iPhone broke I didn't take it to an O2 retail store like Apple Care and O2 said over the phone; instead I took a risk and went to an Apple Retail Store to see if they could offer a replacement.
I organised an appointment online, went in, and within 3 minutes a chap was in his drawer getting out a "new" iPhone. A complete swap, little questions asked - right in front of me. I was out the store within 20 mins.
O2 in comparison told me for sure that I would be without an iPhone for weeks whilst it was away for repair. Also they would send it to a 3rd party repair house - this didn't sound good.
The Apple Retail store on the other hand was a seamless experience.
I would recommend giving them a try.
My replacement didn't look like a refurbished handset, but who knows, I guess it was. No probs yet (apart from c**p battery after 3.0)

  • My iPhone is kinda crazy.

I think after the last time I dropped my iPhone it thinks that I have the earbuds plugged, the whole time. And what this does is that when I plug the earbuds I can hear every sound from the phone, but when I unplug them the phone doesn't play any sound. I know the speaker works because when I'm on a call and I put "speaker" it sounds.
Also, the proximity sensor and the receiver do not work now, because of the aforementioned problem!
    Help!

Tap on your screen 2x with 3 fingers.  It's in Zoom mode.
Once your screen is normal again, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom > Turn off

  • Should an Apple Premium Reseller replace my iPhone if it is faulty?

They told me they do not do this but my chat assistant told me otherwise?
The top of my screen has come off a little and my chat assistant told me that I can visit Western Computers, and they can sort everything out for me.
When I went, the man had a quick look at it and said sorry we don't replace iPhones in here.
I am super confused, do I have to go to an Apple shop or should Western Computers be providing me with a new iPhone?
    Thanks,
    James.

None of us would know.  Sorry.  You need to either resolve this with who you bought the phone from or speak with Apple.  We're just users here like you.

  • IPhone 5 has a faulty battery

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 5 in a Best Buy mobile store. The guy who gave it to me said it was previously activated (I ordered it brand new) but that this wouldn't be a problem. They said the battery life would be twice as good as my iPhone 4. This was a lie- my battery life is terrible; when I make a phone call for an hour on my phone, the battery runs out quickly. I need to charge it twice a day if God forbid I want to listen to music and make a couple of calls. I know about all the battery saving techniques, like closing all multitasking apps, turning off location services, turning off push notifications, bluetooth, etc.  I use it exactly the same as my previous iPhone 4 yet the battery drains EXTREMELY quickly.  I went back to the Best Buy Mobile store 3 weeks later to get the phone replaced. We are Premier Silver members at Best Buy. On their website it clearly stated that within 60 days items may be returned. However, the manager and salespeople at the mobile store said that that statement was outdated and their policy is not to include iPhones. Yet, there was NOTHING on the site page that said it was outdated OR that iPhones were excluded. The manager seemed surprised that one of her workers had given me a previously activated phone- if I had known this could result in a weak phone I would've made more of a fuss and demanded a new phone. The salespeople suggested we go to an Apple store, since we have a 1 year warranty on the iPhone they may be able to replace the battery.  However, at the Apple store, when a diagnostic was run on my phone they said the battery was fine. It's not. My brother has a new iPhone 5 and only needs to charge it every other day. I am disappointed and would really like a new phone as I don't want to be saddled under contract for the next 2 years with one with a weak battery. If I can't get this problem fixed somehow this is definitely the last time I'm buying an Apple product.

Restore it with iTunes on computer. This will give you the best battery life possible. Then you can compare it with other iPhone 5 like your brother's.

  • My iphone 4 has a faulty charging port - bought UK in July 13 through Orange shop

You have a one year warranty. Make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store.

  • IPhone 3GS Sim reader faulty

I am experienceing some problems with my iphone 3GS.
The sim reader failed to read most of the time. With some luck it reads.
But when I restart the phone the sim failed to detect any signal.
    Anyone know why?

For me "illegitimate" sounds very much like "illegal"
It may very well have been illegal. You have no way of knowing. How did a US AT&T locked phone wind up there in the first place? It may have been legitimately sold by the original purchaser. It may also have been one of thousands of phones stolen in targeted robberies of Apple Stores and one hijacking of a truck carrying them.
Illegitimate, though, does not mean illegal and it was not intended to mean illegal. It was intended to mean 'an unauthorized' source. Gray market.

  • Husbands and my iPhone 4 home button faulty at same time.

My husband I noticed that the home button was unusable at the same time and then started working again at the same time. We both had a good signal and were in the same room.  Today the same thing happened didn't work then did around the same time..

I checked with my daughter and her home button has been having problems during the times we have had them too.  Does anybody think this is all just coincidental?

  • I have an iphone 3gs if i went to the apple store what would they do if it is faulty orwould they offer me another phone for a little extra money

    Hi,
i have a iphone 3gs and its faulty i am just wondering would apple replace it or offer me a newer model for extra payment

The device is out of warranty. If there is something wrong with it, they would offer you an out of warranty replacement, a 3GS just like you have. You could purchase another device if you want. Some Apple stores will offer a gift card when you turn in a device, but I do not know how much that would be on the 3GS. Carriers also offer subsidies, depending on where you are located, when you sign contracts. Many ways to get new or like new devices.
