My iPhoto library is entirely referenced. When I try to consolidate it into Photos the program crashes a few seconds after I choose "users" in the pull-down. As a result I cannot upload to iCloud. How should I proceed?
Referenced libraries are very problematic and I recommend against them - and having old photos is not an issue in iphoto - you can import old or new photos
In any case it is a personal choice and you have what you have and there is no easy way to change that since iPhoto has no ability to consolidate originals into its library after the fact - only on initial import (Aperture can do it and iPhoto Library manager can if you wanted to go back an change)
As to Photos I understand it is better with referenced libraries but again since eI do not use them I have not investigated this in any depth
It sounds like your Photos library is ready - check the photos count to verify that everything is there

I downloaded and installed Production Premuim CS5 on my computer and when I try to open it out of the applications folder it bounces at the bottom and then disappears. Does anyone know why this is? I've tried everything to open them but they will not open. Does anyone else have this problem?
I have a mac osx version 10.9.2. I used to have the student version of creative cloud cs6 earlier this year. I cancelled my subscription several months ago and bought cs5 two weeks ago. I never had any problems with the cloud. I went through the entire download process for CS5, and they all showed up in my applications folder and appeared to have downloaded but every time I try to open them they bounce around next to the application manager icon and then disappear.

I am having problem downloading application on Mac app store, when I try to login and start downloading the application, it will say "Your device cannot be verified"

Peggy, thanks for the try. I think you are on to something about the multitude of sections in the sample document.
I think the many many sections are a result of the formating to make the word document look just like the legal case book (multiple columns of text, special sections, graphical headnotes summaries etc). The doc opens just fine in Word for windows 2000, XP and 2003. Maybe I can request a NON columnar flowing word doc that will be possible to open with Pages 3.
In the meantime, the other good options for these legal document downloads, PDF and HTML are not good options for processing the files with Pages. I sure hope the interoperability of Pages 3 is enhanced soon. I would rather not buy the Office 2008 for the Mac if I could stick with Apple's products.
By the way, do you know...... is there a business, marketing, or technical reason (maybe all 3)) why Text Editor seems to have greater capabilities than Pages 3 (like HTML and similar functions)?

When on some website pages, the page disappears after a few seconds and a blank screen appears.
When clicking on a link in some web pages (AARP in this case), the web page loads in a separate tab, and after a few seconds the page is replaced by a blank page and the word "done" appears on the second from the bottom bar on the screen.
I have updated Windows XP as of 9/15/10 and Firefox to version 3.5.12, but the problem persists.When I turn on my ipod or I plug it in the apple logo appears for a few seconds and then the screen flashes white, soon after the "use itunes to restore" message appears but when I plug it in to my laptop the device isn't recognised on itunes

I was trying to open iPhoto one day, when I noticed the icon had a white circle with a slash mark through it on top of the icon. I clicked on it, and an error message popped up that read: "In order to open iPhoto, you need to update to the latest version." (I had just updated my Mac with the OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Supplemental Update) So I go ahead and click download on the error message, and it brings me to the app store and says "Item Not Available. The item you've requested is not currently available in your country." (I live in the U.S.)
Had this happened to anybody??Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -

This happens when I view Fox news, cnn or any of the local news stations.You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

I do want to remark on the issues created by Adobe's inconsistent explanation of how DPS can be used with the Creative Cloud. After reading that FAQ, I also spoke with an "Adobe Agent" through the chat system that pops up on various product pages and asked the agent as specifically as I could if the Single-app version of Creative Cloud would allow me to publish single .folios through DPS. In no uncertain terms the agent said the Single-app version would be fine, and referred me to the order page to begin the order process.
I spoke with another agent over chat in the morning on Saturday and they also said I should be able to publish single .folios with the Singe-app subscription to Creative Cloud. When I presented my App Activation problem to the agent, the agent said I should just wait 24-48 hours for my subscription to Creative Cloud to process so I could create my app.
This has been a very vexing process that has cost my team valuable app review time. If I had not encountered the FAQ and two agents who specifically told me that I could use the Single-app version of Creative Cloud to publish my .folio, I would have been happy to go straight to purchasing the full version of Creative Cloud.

It seems their server is down. I've had problems trying to update apps on iTunes and iPhone.

for example when im now downloading a directX update, so the download starts normaly, but after 15-30 seconds it isn't just making any progres, not eawen if you wait for a while. then I pause the downloading and continue straight after. It si downloading 15-30 seconds agen, and then it stops.

When phone came back on, the screen showed a line coming up from the bottom of the screen to a locked padlock, then an up arrow above the padlock, then an Itunes icon above the arrow. When watching videos on YouTube and other sites, the sound plays for a few seconds and then stops.
I've ensured that the sound is working by pressing the volume up/down buttons and by looking in System Preferences to check it's switched to Internal Speakers, and sound plays through iTunes, so I think it could be something to do with Safari. When I Quit Safari and reopen it the sound tends to work, but then goes off again.
Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.
