My ipod is disabled and says to connect to itunes but it wont connect to my computer of itunes what do i do??
My daughter got locked out of her ipod touch 4th generation. It now says ipod disabled, connect to itunes. I have plugged it into my computer and to I tunes and It doesn't connect to either. I have plugged in my sons ipod using the same cord and his connects with itunes so I know its not the cord or usb ports on my laptop. I have tried holding the home button and power button until it shows a cord and the itunes icon and say connect to itunes and I still get nothing... Please help!!!

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.

Thank you for your reply, I did go to my general settings, but for some odd reason I don't have a restrictions setting, or a reset setting. I thought I could reset all the setting to see if it could be that, but as I said there aren't any.
My husband also has the iPad 2, and also did the software update and hasn't had any problems at all. I took both iPad's and compared the settings thinking maybe there could be a setting that could have been changed when the update was done. -

They will be gone from the iphone, but you should be syning all contacts to your computer regularly and should be importing all pics to your computer regularly, particularly before any update.

Never before have i ever updated my iphone off the computer, there has been issue with backs up. I am trying to re-able my disabled iPod. It is a 4th Generation iPod touch 8gb. It has a crack screen and the lock/sleep button and the volume buttons do not work. It says in red ribbon on the top of the screen, "iPod is disabled Connect to iTunes". When I connect it to iTunes it doesn't show up in the left sidebar. Instead a message pops up and says, "iTunes could not connect to the iPod 'Madyz iPod' because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter you passcode on the iPod before it can be used with iTunes." What do I do? I would really appreciate help.(: thanks.
If you can't enter the passcode then you have to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod via iTunes. For ecovery mode see:

Note that this requires using the sleep/wake button. If you are not successful then there is nothing else that I know you can do. -

Converting Quark Files to InDesign CS3
