Welcome to Apple Support Communities
First, report this to the police. Then, you can't do anything with your serial number to track the MacBook.
Instead, if you turned on Find my Mac, you can track it if it's connected to Internet. You can track it with the Find my iPhone app from any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or from http://www.icloud.com at any Mac or PC.
If you didn't turn on Find my Mac, there's not anything else you can do apart from reporting that to the police

What do I do if I do not have the Serial Number of my Stolen Macbook Air
I bought my Macbook Air last year in February while in the States and I left the Box it came in there. Recently my Macbook was stolen and I dont have the serial Number. I had it linked to Find My iPhone App and I have currently put a lock that has a pending status till they (the thieves) connect it to the internet.
How can I get the serial number maybe via my Apple ID so that I can call Apple Care and report it stolen.

I would recommend you try following this article http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1941 or http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1366 to find the serial number of your MacBook. See if that helps any.

I am unable to reinstall Photoshop CS6 (I do have the serial number) on my Macbook Pro 10.9.5 (Mavericks os). and am getting the message "Installation on case-sensitive volumes is not supported. Please choose a different volume for installation." I am further told that "Adobe apps cannot be installed on case-sensitive drives, you need to Install the product onto an HFS+ or HFSJ non-case-sensitive drive."
What I don't understand is this: I originally bought and installed Photoshop CS6 back in March 2013, and it worked fine. Yesterday my hard drive had to be replaced and my computer person salvaged as much of what was on it as he could, but now I have to reinstall Photoshop. 1) Why did it work before and it's not working now? 2) Is there anything I can do that does not involve reformatting the hard drive?It means what it says. The "computer person" formatted it wrongly/ unsuitably. it needs to be formatted again.

so my iphone 5 kept crashing and i brought it to the apple store and got a new replacement phone. Unfortunately for me the next day it got stolen, i have the find my iphone app but it says my device is offline so i cant track it nor can i wipe the contents. I have blocked my sim, but someone told me that i could get the product itself blocked so that the horrible theif cannot use it at all. Since it was a replacement product and i lieterally just got it i dont have the serial or imei number to get it blocked. Would apple have a record of the replacement devices number? i tried using the online chat but it wont work becausae i dont have the serial number or anything. thanks in advance for your help.

IMEI number carrier can track a device with but only way to do it is when the police bring a warrent

If you did not activate Find my iPhone, you will not be able to track it. Apple will not help you. But, you should immediately go and change your Apple ID password, and any other passwords you use for accounts like Twitter, Facebood, Mail, Apps you make purchases with, like the Starbucks Mobile App, etc.

If you haven't turned on FindMyiPhone in settings (yes, even for the iPod), there's nothing you can do. Apple will not help you find it using the serial number. If you did turn it on and the thief doesn't get into the iPod (you did have a passcode set, right?), then go to iCloud website using a browser, log in and try finding the iPod. Unless the thief reset the device to factory settings, and if the wifi isn't off, it's location should show on the map. After that it's up to you to report its location to the police.

My macbook pro hard drive went bad and i bought a new one and installed it. Now i have the old corrupted hard drive in my hand and i am looking to recover my files from it, any suggestions please? too bad i never backed them up.
After you have installed the OSX on the new HDD in your MBP, install the old HDD in an enclosure and connect it to your MBP via USB. Then try to drag and drop your data to the new HDD.
If this proves unsuccessful, you may look for data recovery software on the Internet. There will be free trails to see if it will work or not. If the trial suggests that it will work, then you will have to purchase the software.
The last resort is a professional data recovery service that will offer NO guarantees and charge a lot of money.
As you now can appreciate, backups eliminate such predicaments.

My iMac was stolen the receipt doesn't have the serial number but I did register the computer so Aplle must have a record of it. How do I get it.
Go to the Apple website and your support profile. It should list that iMac and the serial number for it. You'll need your Apple ID and password for that Apple ID.

If you have an iCloud account the you can go to www.iCloud.com and sign in with your Appleid. Click on Find my iPhone and Find it's location, deactivate or Wipe it.
I would also call your Mobile service provider and have them cancel the service for that unit.

If you still have the serial number of your iPod touch n it was stolen is ther any way to see if it was reactivated under someone else name
No Apple doesn't get involved in lost/stolen items. If you had registerd in Find My...in iCloud it may show up if connected to the internet and not restored to factory settings. Once restored it will not appear.

The serial number alone is not useful for Find My iPhone / iPod. It is useful to establish ownership, should you recover the iPod.
You would have had to enable "Find My iPod" in Settings > General.
