From your post it appears that you are using an earlier iPad, which can only update to iOS 5. Some developers do offer compatible versions of their apps for people running older iOS versions, but ultimately it is up to that developer to make an older version. Check out the article for more information about installing the latest compatible version of an app on your iPad.

my iPad is frozen.. it won't shut off.. i can't do a forced restart by holding the sleep/wake and home button.... it doesn't respond to that either.. i can't connect it to iTunes because it needs passcode entered but again the iPad is frozen so i can't input the passcode… I also can't do recovery mode as the ipad won't shut down for me to do a recovery mode.... HELP
Erase iPad and setup iPad from scratch
1. Launch web browser on your computer
2. Sign in to www.icloud.com
3. Tap on Find My iPhone
4. Select the iPad to be erased
5. Tap Erase iPad
6. Message: All your content and settings will be erased. An erase iPad cannot be located or tracked

Sounds like you have a damaged library7 To check launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and try to create a test library. If you can import a few photos. If that works then your original library is damaged so make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the three fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #3
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

You are mixing different issues. I will address Numbers.
Has Numbers ever been installed on this new Mac? Did you have the Mac App Store version of Numbers or did you have the DVD version of Numbers?
You should be able to redownload a previous purchase of the Mac App Store version of Numbers from the Purchases pane after signing into your account.
If you had the DVD version, then you will need to install that from the DVD media. -

For some reason my QuickTime player has stopped playing all my .avi movies, I can't seem to upgrade and it doesn't offer any solutions except that it may need additional software but not what or where to obtain it from? Help most of my movie are in .avi!!
Google 'Perian' and 'Flip4Mac' — these are the extensions that will make QT play other file formats.
However, a simpler solution is just to abandon QT in favour of the free, open-source player VLC, which plays just about everything natively without further downloads.

My iPod Touch will not function with certain updated apps ie MindTools, YP.com, Mint, Ymessenger etc and I get the error message that I need to install updated software to load these apps to my iPod Touch; however, I have double checked and all the software updates have been loaded in obht the iPod touch and my computer. There are no updates availabe; yet the error message on App is a software update is required for App. "was not installed because it requires a newer version of iPod software."
The iPod Touch is using 3.1.3 software and it tells me that is the current and updated software version.You are correct in that your 1G iPod Touch has all the latest software updates. It can only be updated to version 3.1.
However that Apps you are trying to download and install likely require iOS version 4.0 or later, which is not compatible with your iPod Touch. So either you'll need to buy a newer iPod Touch or find other Apps that are suitable replacements if possible.

Trying to update software but after its downloading for a while, shuts off?
So i've been trying to do a software update but ive tried it 3 times tonight and the same thing keeps happening. I start the download, it goes for like 2 hours, and then the macbook just restarts. at first i thought it was restarting because the download was done but when it turned back on, nothing happened. i went back in to the software update and it told me i needed to download it all again. im getting really frustrated does anybody know what the problem is and has a solution??

hopefully some one can help me with this one- its driving me crazy!
I have a Mac desktop computer. When i click on my i photo icon, it tells me to update software and will not let me go into i photo or see any of my pictures. However i have tried numerous times to update my software and it tells me im fully up to date- nothing to update. but still will not let me into i photo as apparently i need to update! So i am unable to get access to my i photo photos.
i am on max os x version 10.6.8.
Any ideas?!

Cannot submit app update - "Error The submission can only contain one appx or one appxbundle."
I'm trying to submit my app update to the store and I get the following error:

So I thought I should maybe utilize the "Delete" option to allow me to submit an updated appx or appxbundle (since these are the only file types that App Studio allows us to build). However, when I do, I get the
following message:
Can't delete this package
You must have at least one 8.1 package in your submission.
... So I'm basically stuck. Can't delete to upload a new one. Can't upload a new one because there's one already there. It would be nice if you could automatically sunset the old appx/appxbundle package in favor of the new
one.
Update: Solved! Solution below.Since this is still an issue, shouldn't it be escalated for a fix so that the page works on any modern browser?
I see two independent problems here:
- Hitting Delete should work, not bash the user with a "You must have at least one 8.1 package in your submission." message (i.e. allow the developer to delete and then add a new file, if so desired). After all, when making the initial submission
we are in the same situation (no file yet), so it can't be that bad, as long as this is checked for at a later stage.
- Show that Replace button which seems to be hiding! If it is a Silverlight issue, why require Silverlight in the first place?
P.S.: I am experiencing this with IE (no Replace button, Windows 8.1 x64 and latest updates).

When importing a CD, the 'View Options' do not stay as I have set them. Ugh
(In iTunes 7), When I insert a CD, the 'DEVICES' part shws the disc. When I click on the disc, the columns of data is pretty minimal. I NEED to see the BPM, Year, etc.. I have to set it for EVERY device (CD) that I insert. Um, can you say ANNOYING?!?
