MySAP 2005 - QM Module - QE51N - Partial Lot UD Follow Up Actions Failing

Hi,
I am currently working on a project involving an upgrade from SAP 4.5B to mySAP 2005.
Here is our situation:
We deal with partial lots / inspection points.
Whenever we record results for each partial lot and valuate, a follow up action is supposed to execute.
The Partial Lot Pop up box appears as expected from SAP standard functionality and the partial lot valuation shows as well as the follow up action that is supposed to execute.
But the follow up action is not executing for the partial lots.
We also have another follow up action that executes after a Usage Decision is made on the overall Inspection Lot and that executes.
So i'm not sure if it a mySAP issue.
We performed this testing using the QE51N transaction.
We used QE51, and the partial lot follow up actions are executing so not sure what is happening in QE51N.
Can anyone please help?

Hi Ram,
Selected Sets (QS55):
- Firstly I have defined Catalog type 3 selected sets for usage decisions.
- Within the selected set I have Accept / Reject codes defined with appropriate
  follow up actions.
IMG Config:
Quality Management --> Inspection Planning --> General --> Define Identifier for Inspection Points.
In that area, i have my default valuations set where all characteristics are accepted or when one is rejected.
Quality Management --> Quality Inspection --> Inspection Lot Completion --> Define Follow-Up Actions
I have defined follow up actions here and my follow up functions are set to "Usage decision for partial lot"
I believe all settings are correct since we upgraded our 4.5B SAP test box to mySAP 2005 and overall things were maintained.
So not too sure what is happening.
No error occurs. The partial lot follow up action doesn't even execute in QE51N.
I went into the code of the function and set a temporary breakpoint there to pause execution.
in QE51N, nothing happened so I could tell the follow up action wasn't even executed.
in QE51 however, the follow up action executed and the break point kicked in execution paused with a debug session.

  • Follow-up action for partial lots

Guru's - Need your valuable input in the scenario below
The requirement is to send an email for the partial lots based on the valuation or UD code from the selected sets using follow-up action.
I know as per standard SAP we can send an email based on the UD code at the inspection lot level using function module QFOA_UD_LONGTEXT_SENDING
Please suggest me the function module or available options that i can use for sending an email at the partial lot level.
    Thanks,

Appreciate your Quick response.  I dont see any standard function module(FM) that can be used for partial lots.  I did try to assign the standard FM for insp. lot to the partial lot & its giving me a dump error(Parameter Missing).
We did create a custom module to send an email for multiple users based on the UD at the Insp. lot level but i dont see any standard FM available that i can use for partial lots. Please Help.
    Thanks,

  • Difference between MYSAP 2005 and ECC 6.0

    Hi All,
Can you Please explain what are the components that come under MYSAP 2005
    and ECC 6.0.
Like what are the modules that come under these.
    Thanks
    Arun

    Hi,
For the differences between mySAP ERP 2004 and 2005 from a hardware perspective, please see SAP Note 901070.
It is a full upgrade to upgrade from mySAP ERP 2004 to 2005 (not simply applying support packages). Of course the impact of even a technical upgrade depends on the functionality that you have deployed and if there are major changes between the 2004 and 2005 release. In most cases this is minimal but investigation is required and you should test everything for signoff. Do not let a technical upgrade be considered a no brainer, some people get tripped up with not checking everything and finding the unexpected after go live.
You mentioned that you want to start using xSS. I would suggest that you start with mySAP ERP 2005 as there are technology changes in mySAP ERP 2005 in the xSS solution and it will save you rework in the long term - xSS is written in Web Dynpro for Java and not ITS based in mySAP ERP 2005.
In regard to satisfaction with the upgrade, I would suggest you ask SAP to talk to references and check with your local SAP user group to see if anyone has done it.
I hope this helps in some way.
    Thanks,
    Shankar

  • Partial lot in inspection lot

    Dear all,
I am a PP consultant this requirement is not geeting answered in PP forum so I posted it to this forum. please help.
    our requirement is as follows,
    1) Partial lot should be created from an inspection lot.
    2) A new batch should be created for each partial lot
    3) we should be able to result recording and UD for each partial lot.
At the time of GR i dont know what will be the quality of the batch. Only after inspection i come to the quality of the batch. It may be
    100% ok,
    70% ok and 30% rejected
    70% ok, 20% rework and 10% rejected.
I want separate batch should be created for each result.
I have created the material with batch management and can transfer results to batch characteristics.
Now what i will have to do to map the above scenario.
    Thanks

    Hi S J,
    See your prime concern is,,,,
Say your order quantity is 5000.
At the first GR against this Order you are confirming 1500 qnty
At the second GR against this Order you are confirming another 1500 qnty
At the first GR against this Order you are confirming the rest qnty
And you are in need to issue a separate Batch number to each Confirmation / GR against the Order?
Correct me if I am wrong any where!!!!
If this is the case, then
As i have suggested you Do the settings in Inspection type at material master QM view.
Then keep any of the Inspection point at the recipe..
Now as you are using recipe means there is a Process Industry and Process Order are associated!
So run trx CORY and set the value "No automatic batch creation in process order." for the field Auto Batch Creation
By doing this system will not create any Batch at the time of Process Order release. But the material is ticked for Batch-management hence it will create a batch at the time of GR / Confirmation against the Order.
    Now
At the first GR against this Order you are confirming 1500 qnty it will create inspection lot ABC and Batch 123
At the second GR against this Order you are confirming another 1500 qnty it will create inspection lot BCD and Batch 234
At the first GR against this Order you are confirming the rest qnty it will create inspection lot CDE and Batch 345
I hope it will solve your problem.

  • SAPInst mySAP 2005 - Import ABAP Hangs

    Hello All,
I am currently trying to install mySAP 2005 IDES on the following:
    -> Windows Server 2003
    -> MaxDB 7.6
    -> 4GB RAM
    -> 500 GB Hard Drive
I am finding that during the Import ABAP phase I reach 70 of the 72 and then it seems to hang. I have checked the import log and it is not moving forward at all.
Has anyone else experienced this and resolved it? I thought that maybe the number of database volumes was insufficient and have extended the number from the normal 14 (@13.2 GB each) to 21.
    Regards,
    Nicholas Wilson

    Hi Rajat,
The Import ABAP phase has now completed. Thank you for your attention.
For others reading this thread, the Import ABAP phase takes a very long time (in my case it was the SAPAPPL1_10 import package which took the longest). It may be worth installing on a RAID configuration which will reduce the bottleneck.
    I will close this thread.

  • Partial lot problem

    Dear Experts,
We have created one recipe with partial lot indicator 2 - Partial lot and batch for each inspection point. A process order also created using this recipe which results in the creation on in-process inspection lot . As per the setting the inspection lot has no
batch number . We want to reverse everything  i.e we want to change this partial lot assignment indicator as 1 and want to reflect it in the process order already created which can be done through the function Read PP master data .
But what can we do with the in-process inspection lot already created for this process order. The results recording is not completed for this inspection lot . But for one order the components are issues and partially delivered. How to proceed further.

    Hi
But for one order the components are issues and partially delivered. How to proceed further
If you cancel the process order, the lot will be automatically cancelled.
    lot will have status:"LTCA" automatically.
But if some material is already issued as you said then it's not possible to reverse.
I hope this will add some value.

  • Partial lot creation

    hw to create partial lot?
is it related with procurement or prodn or sales or with all?

    Hi Sandip,
You can use partial lots to manage goods or materials with different quality characteristics. If you confirm that the goods being produced for a production order are not consistent in quality, you can separate the materials according to their quality characteristics and maintain these quantities in separate partial lots. In this way, you can divide the total quantity of a production order into several smaller partial lot quantities.
Partial lots are typically used in production processes to manage batch materials (either in the form of raw materials or finished products).

  • Partial Lot while results recording

    Hi all,
During the In process inspection, Lot has got generated w.r.t the released quantity in the Production Order.
When I do results recording, system is asking for the yield, scrap & rework quantity with the Options for confirmation (partial / final) in the same pop up window.
My doubt is, in the same pop up window, system is asking to generate Partial Lot. If I do not create Partial Lot system is not allowing to save the results recording.
Why the Partial Lot is required. Is it the default system setting or can we avoid this. I hope I do not require any Partial lot option for our client.
One more query is, when i generate Partial Lot system automatically selects QM_PM follow up action. Where this is assigned in SPRO. How to avoid the follow up actions for Partial lot.
    Experts, please guide me
    Regards
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
Nice to know your problem is solved. But no marks assigned!!! That must not the SAM!!!! LOL.
    Ok jokes apart!!!,,,
Now about the Partial lot related documents, Actually I don't have any, but you must go through this link from [SAP Drill|http://sapdrill.com/quality-management-certification-p-77.html], in the learning section pls go through the "PLM420 Course Contents" it will have the partial lot related features.
    Hope, it will help you!

  • Partial lot

    what is partial lot?

    Sandeep,
    Definition
A partial quantity of a material or product to be produced or manufactured.
    Use
You can use partial lots to manage goods or materials with different quality characteristics. If you confirm that the goods being produced for a production order are not consistent in quality, you can separate the materials according to their quality characteristics and maintain these quantities in separate partial lots. In this way, you can divide the total quantity of a production order into several smaller partial lot quantities.
Partial lots are typically used in production processes to manage batch materials (either in the form of raw materials or finished products).
    Integration
A partial lot can contain the produced quantities of materials that are similar in quality and that were inspected in several inspection points. If the finished product is managed in batches, you can assign the partial lots to individual batches. You can assign several partial lots to a single batch.
    Hope this is useful.

  • How to process Partial lot accepted & rejected.

    Hi Team,
I have scenario where in say lot quantity is 100, of which only 70 is accepted & 30 is rejected. How to handle this scenario.
Is it a partial lot confirmation?
Please suggest me steps to handle this situation.
    Thanks

    Hi,
After your rework material's order completion, PP make GR then its comes again in QM with new Inspection lot. QM have to do Inspection acvtivities & stock posting.
Another scenario is PP done Rework independently without rework order. At the end stock transfer from Block Stock to Unristricted stock. At that movement QM have to trace Quality. Then first required to activation of 08 Insp. Type in Material Master & Insp. Plan setup. So, New Insp. Lot will generate.
So, during stock transfer Quantity comes to Quality stock. Then Inspection acvtivities & stock posting activity.

  • UD for partial lot in QM

    Dear QM masters,
We are having Partial lot for inprocess inspection lot. Can we have UD for each partial lot generated with Inspection Point? And if yes then how it can be done, what settings are required for this?
    Thanks in advance for help.
    Regards,
    Devang

    Hi,
To inspect partial lots, you must assign inspection characteristics to your operations in the master recipe or process order. You must then link the master inspection characteristics to general characteristics that you used to classify your material.
If your material is to be handled in batches, you can assign individual batch numbers to the partial lots when you record results in QM.

  • What is mySAP 2005?

    hi
I need to understand the delta on ABAP technology between 4.5B version and mySAP 2005
    ~Suresh

    Hi Suresh,
MySAP is a business suite (set of business applications, clubbed as a package), marketed by SAP. This includes solution for business applications in the areas of enterprise portals, customer-relationship management, supply-chain management, electronic marketplaces, business intelligence, product life-cycle management, supplier relationship management, human resources, financials, and mobile business, as well as for industry-specific business applications. These solutions are realized through mySAP components...
In terms of the delta on ABAP technology, there isn't much. In both products, ABAP is used as the programming language for the Repository objects. Ofcourse java is also used in most of the mySAP Components, which can also be changed/modifiied using ABAP. BSP (Business Server Pages) is another new introduction; which is a mix of tags (markup languages) and ABAP.
    Web Dynpro is also introduced.
There are some key words in ABAP which are obselete in the newer versions, but this is always the case with all version upgrades of SAP; its not specefic to mySAP.
    Hope this helps.

  • Follow-up action : please help - Inspection Lot related

    Hi,
I am having the following trouble:
Through MB02, a printout is generated to the local printer (LOCL).
However, through QA11, when we save, we have a custom follow-up action attached that pops-up a
    dialog screen.
The follow up action is triggered when a usage decision is changed for the inspection lot.
The follow-up action (configured in IMG) calls a Function Module and a screen, which in turn populates
a value into a custom DB table (based on the buttons, on the screen, sending either to LOCL or to a
    zebra printer).
Now, what has to happen is that after inserting the value into a custom table, it should also open a sapscript and output.
The Sapscript and print program are there, with the print program being created 3-4 years ago by someone
else. However, even though we have code in the print program to update nast, in turn creating a message
for output (1st the custom DB table is checked to see if the values match, MATNRCHARG), It does not update
NAST. When we go through MB02, it does, but this should happen automatically after selecting one of the radio
buttons on the original pop-up & selecting print.
Please help. I don't know what to do and can't enable a debugger from the pop-up and if going though QA11,
I can't get it to stop inside the print program (only inside the custom FM).
    Cheers,
    John
