N80 vista x64 portable device driver

Hi,
When connecting the N80 to USB and selecting "Media Player" mode, vista doesnt find an appropriate driver. I installed nokia suite 6.83. I remember that this worked at somepoint, but I somehow managed to delete the nokia n80 entry via uninstall from the Device Manager->Portable Devices. It now shows up under Device Manager->Other Devices with an "exclamation mark". If I right-click and do an "Update Driver Software...", vista doesnt find anything. Forcing it to use the "Portable Devices->Nokia Windows Portable Device Driver" doesnt really help either: windows media player 11 doesnt show the device to sync with.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

I would try re-installing the PC-suite.

I solved the problem as follows:
Click Start/Run and type Regedit. Click OK.
Once the Regedit opened drill down as follows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PC Connectivity Solution\Configurations\Nokia
On the right right Click on "WPDEnabled"=dword:00000000"

  • HT201302 pc with Vista cannot find device driver software for 3GS

Windows Explorer cannot the iPhone.  iTunes sees the 3GS, the memory alloted to pictures, but does not show over 1500 pics.  iTunes only recognizes pics in files on PC.  There are under 50 in the files.
When I plug in the iPhone, it searches for the device driver, but cannot find one.
The iPhone is appearing in Control Panel / Auto Play.  Changing this setting makes no difference.
The iPhone also shows up in Control Panel / Device Manager as a Portable Device referred to as a Digital Still Camera, it has a yellow yield icon on it.  It says it has the correct driver. Also, below the camera listing is 5 other devices.  They are all the same listing of "Microsoft WPD FileSystem Volume Driver", they all have a yellow yield icon on them.
I have deleted all the portable devices and rebooted. They come back, however I have the same problem.
If have tried a number of things, if I recall I saw "Code 10" at one pont.  I do not remember the item it was attached to.  I will follow-up with more info as I can get.  I have had a 3GS for over 2 years.  Apple Care tried to help me very diligently on an other Vista machine and had no success.  Please Help, someone.

  • "NOKIA WINDOWS PORTABLE DEVICE DRIVER" on PC Suite...

I just upgraded my pc suite from 6.82 to 6.83. I have Windows Media Player11 installed. Almost the PC Suite setup was complete... Just when windows found a new hardware called "NOKIA WINDOWS PORTABLE DEVICE". But for full installation it requirs the prefered drivers to be installed. But it didn't found that i guess ! So it showed me an error msg.."The device can't be inslled" So, I opened device manager and unistalled "N70"(My phone) under portable devices. Then I reconnected my phone...and started Add new hardware wizard...At last the portable device installed ..But then I got another msg..which says..In future this device may not work properly !
Then I reopened device manager and under portable devices i found N70 which was installed succesfully..but the main one "Nokia windows portable devices" had an exclamanation mark and the status was "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" ! So...what the hell is this and if i had to download the previous version again..then how could i ?

Same here - Windows XP, Nokia N70, PC Suite 6.83. Very annoying. Found that the answer was to uninstall software and throw PC out of Window. Drove over phone then dropped it from an upstairs window. Finally plunged phone into icy water and cursed it until green in the face.
Also, found out that reinstalling the software seemed to cure it. Had to go to device manager first and delete the Nokia N70 device that Windows had placed under 'Portable devices'

  • Vista x64 & 4gb+ with driver 2.15.0002 - 30th

The blue screen of death still strikes me with this new driver. I thought this update was going to fix the 4gb+ ram issue. It ruins the point of having a 64-bit OS if you can't run 4gb or more of ram without blue screens caused by the sound driver.

My 4GB issue fixed itself after I reinstalled Vista 64-bit a week or two ago.
I temporarily enabled software/hardware memory remapping to use 4GB in Linux and forgot to turn it off when I rebooted back into the clean Vista install. Sound continued to work fine and I forgot there was ever a problem until recently.
I did see an IRQ_(something) related BSOD on a secondary account when firing up Quicktime but I haven't been able to reproduce it on my main login; could have been the graphics driver for all I know. Plays movies/games just fine. Which is odd, because on the last install I couldn't even get the card to make any sound (except for a short crackled mess followed by permanent silence until the next reboot).

  • E71 + PC Suite rebot Vista x64 automatically

Just purchased an E71. Since I installed PC Suite 7.1, Vista X64 reboot automatically 5-10 Minutes after I shutdown my computer...
    Does anyone have a remedy?
    Thx

    Hi,
I think that your older PC Suite version didn't support Windows Protable device driver (and thats why BSOD didn't happen).
I think that problem is in Microsoft's WUDFRD.SYS driver file, see this:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933607/en-us
(I don't know does this solve the problem but check that you have latest version of those WUDxx.xx files.)
Also, you can try to update PC Suite to version 6.85 or disable Windows Portable device driver support from register.

  • Vista x64, PCsuite 6.84, N80, bluetooth - NoGo.

I've mentioned this in a few place but here's a detailed report of my inability to connect to PCsuite over bluetooth

PC: Dell, Pentium 820D 3Gb ram, Vista x64
    From "system info"

    Microsoft Outlook:

    No supported Bluetooth stack found
Now I disagree with that last statement since Microsoft Bluetooth is up and running!
I am able to pair via MS UI, but any attempt to pair with PCsuite results in
    Select connection type -> bluetooth
    NEXT
Detected Devices: N80 (with green handshake symbol) saying "phone needs to be authorized"
    SELECT/NEXT
    X Cannot authenticate the phone
I've tried unpairing, repairing the "connectivity" and "pcsuite" software items, rebooting pc, rebooting phone to no avail.
The same phone works ok on another Vista >>x86 PC, and this phone works ok with a serial connection.

When you say only the MS stack is supported on x64, do you mean that PCsuite can only use the MS stack on x64 - as opposed to saying that BlueSoleil/WIDCOMM aren't supported on x64.
I ask because BlueSoleil definately is supported & works on Vista x64 -- very very recently.
I have found out that there are compatible drivers (from MSI) which should allow use of the MS stack, it's just that for broader purposes (including audio support) the BlueSoleil is more functional, supporting far far more bluetooth profiles, so I would prefer to get this working.

  • Xboard 61 and Vista x64 driver problems

I cannot install the driver for my Xboard 61 without this happening. I've done the following:
    -run as administrator
-changed the integrity setting to "ON" using BCDEDIT
-run driver setup in an unpacked driver application folder
-checked to see that emuumidi.sys is installed in system32 folder

  • PROBLEM RESOLVED: SATA RAID Vista x64 Driver Errors on P45 Platinum

I have installed 5 WD 640GB SATA drives on my P45 Platinum PC build. Using the Intel Matrix Storage BIOS program, I configured them as RAID 0 (480 GB) and RAID 5 (2 TB) volumes.
Now I am trying to install Vista (x64)--as expected, the Windows installer prompts me for a RAID driver floppy. I have downloaded the latest ICH10R drivers from the MSI Website and copied them to a USB key--the installer detects the drivers on the key but when I click Next, I get the following error message: "No new devices could be found. make sure the driver files are correct and loaded on the driver installation media."
Can anybody help--I'm fresh out of ideas?
The P45 Platinum board is a rev 1.1. I have not flashed the BIOS so I suspect that it is v1.0 but am not sure how to confirm this.

Quote from: Jack the Newbie on 30-October-08, 17:39:54
When one of the board's controllers is set to RAID mode, it does not even matter if there are actually hard drivers connected to it, or not.  Vista is not attempting to locate a RAID volume but simply needs proper drivers to be able to initialize the controller.
OK, makes sense. So when Vista was prompting me for drivers it was actually looking for the JMicron RAID drivers NOT the Intel RAID drivers. When I tried to install the Intel RAID drivers it--naturally--gave an error message.
It seems that it is no longer necessary to install Intel RAID drivers when you install Vista as these are already available to the OS (must be on the DVD).

  • Windows vista, Ipod shuffle 4th gen.  Computer cannot find device driver software for ipod.

After several hours trying the troubleshooting options provided by the apple support site, I have come to what I think is the issue here.  My girlfriend recently got an ipod shuffle and when plugging it into her computer the dialog pops up saying it is installing device driver software for the ipod.  Eventually it asks me to insert the CD that came with the ipod.  No CD came with the ipod, so I click the option that says "I do not have my cd".  Then it gives me the option of searching automatically or manually for the driver software.  The automatic way can't find it.  Doing it manually, with the help of the troubleshooting page, didn't work either.  google search can't seem to help me on this one.  Also, I tried plugging the ipod into my computer (not hers) and it worked fine, it was able to install the device driver software on its own.  Does anybody know the issue here?  My computer has windows 7, and hers has vista.  Hers is Serice Pack 1.  When I tried installing service pack 2 it wouldnt work.  I don't know if that is the issue though.  I have tried just about everything, I think the issue is finding the device driver software.  When I do a google search nothing comes up, so I have no idea what to do at this point.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well its surprising to know that! But even  have an ipod shuffle 3rd gen n dint face any problem like that. FYI no cd comes with the ipod jus take ur ipod to an apple exoert n he will solve ur problem .

  • NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT driver for Vista x64

    Hello,
I have an issue with my new MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz 17" that was released on the 5th of June, 2007.
It has NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT installed on it and I simply cannot find Vista 64 bit drivers for it.
I have tried the latest beta Vista x64 drivers (163.11) downloaded from nVidia's official website. I have tried several previous versions including 100.97 one, which contains drivers for 8600M GT model. But they don't work with me. All the driver installation programs allert the following error and quit:
'The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit'.
I also tried Vista 32-bit drivers for 8600M GT. The driver installation program claims the operation system is wrong and quits.
    Anybody has the same issue?
Does a working driver of nVidia GeForce 8600M GT for Vista x64 exist at all?
MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz   Windows Vista   nVidia GeForce 8600M GT

There was one Apple's presentstion where they boot into Windows Vista. So if you claim you can do it why do you forget about Vista x64 customers? I reckon it is because of Leopard that is coming. But it's not an excuse.
I'm currently working in Vista x64 and everything is fine except one thing, I cannot find a working graphics card driver and it is manufacturer's responsibility to provide it. Apple knew there going to be customers who will install Vista x64 on their computers and they at Apple didn't care about it because I guess it's a lame war between you know who.
So why you don't make everything perfect to attract even more Windows customers but instead you hint that you don't care about Vista x64 as you are getting your own 64-bit OS soon. So now they are forcing me to wait having been announced that I can use Vista. But isn't that kind of lame that it's slightly tardy? Why I should wait for Leopard launch if I was insured that Windows will work on my Macbook Pro? Because Apple claim you can run Windows. And don't say it's not official. Who else if not Apple made it possible to run Windows on Mac.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insult you. I'm just angry that I cannot find a working driver.

  • Can't install Windows 7 Pro x64 - device driver missing - can't eject DVD

    Hello,
I am trying to install Windows 7 Pro x64 - I create the partition in boot camp and start windows install process. **During the Windows install process**, it says "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: if the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step".
Apparently the drivers are on the OSX install DVD. But, there is no way to eject the windows DVD! Why on earth is there no manual eject on Macs? Is there another way to eject? I tried to put a paperclick in the slot next to where a CD is inserted but it didn't do anything. Is there another way to get Windows to see the correct device drivers?
I am all for clean slick designs, but when it does not have all required functionality, it is kind of useless.
I am talking to Mac Support and they can't help.
Looks like I will have to return this Mac, I also need to boot into full Windows (without Parallels or VMWare) to do my work.

You don't mention what Mac you have, so I'd have to say there is almost no way to help.
IF the 7 Pro x64 came download ISO thru EDU, you have to burn it, and if you use Disk Utility, at 2X reduced burn speed... otherwise it won't work.
A VM isn't fussy and can use ISOs.
If you want both native and VM, to have Windows installed on its own hard drive and use it under OS X, then you have to install it and use Boot Camp Assistant.
I'd say it is all about your DVD media.

  • Vista X64 Drive Management Snap-In Error with SD Cards

I have someone with an W700, 2752-3KG, running Vista X64, raid 1 configuration with factory image. The system also has a VM with XPP X86 in case it proves relevant.
Everything works like a dream, except for one thing which has got us completely stumped. When an SD card is inserted it is recognized as new hardware as expected. There is no autorun, i.e. Open folder / play music window, as this was disabled when the VM was set up. In drive management the SD card will be shown, but alas not assigned a drive letter. Any attempt to assign a drive letter results in the following message; (translated from German to English using translate.google.com)
"The operation could not be completed because the view
of the Disk Management snap-ins is not current. Refresh your view with the
update task. If the problem persists, close the Disk Management snap-in, and
then restart the Disk Management snap-in or the computer."
    [Original screenshot attached 203KB]
The usual routine of updating / rolling back of drivers, uninstalling the hardware etc. etc has been tried to no avail.
The SD cards work fine on other TPs including W700s with Vista X64, X86 and XPP X86, they also work fine on this system when using an USB card reader
What hasn't been tried is running a recovery to another hdd. As the system is used daily this would mean blowing part of a weekend. And if a weekend is going to be partly blown, then I'd rather blow it completely and reinstall everything from scratch which would be a shame because, as previously stated, everything else is running 110%.
Has anyone experienced similar? Any ideas? I've searched MS thoroughly without finding anything
    Thanks in advance

You may want to try a few different SD cards, there are apparently some which do not play well with Vista.
Personally I haven't had any issues with a 2GB SanDisk SD card running as ReadyBoost in an X61 under Vista Ultimate x64.
