Need a report by Business Unit

We have in our model 5 custom fields in Product defining a % for BU1, BU2, etc.
In the Opp. we have the correspondent product revenue...
We would like to build a report that has BU1 name in the 1st.row, BU2 name in the 2nd.row... and in columns we would have the Opp.product x %BU1 (in row1), Opp.product x %BU2 (in row2), etc.
Trouble is that the BU1 name, BU2 name, etc. is nowhere in the data base...
Any suggestions for this model ?
Txs. a lot
Antonio

Lombo,
I have created a 5 level organisational hierarchy using custom pick lists on the user profile. These are all available through reporting and can be changed quickly to reflect company re-org's and sales reps leaving/joining the organisation. Whilst this is maintenance it has worked very well and stood the test of time, we now use this for reporting globally rather than territory/team or any other fields on the opportunity or account entity... worth a thought.
Thanks.. Oli @ Innoveer

  • Report painter- business area and Cost center

    Hi All,
we have a requirement to create the Report painter report where in the Revenue will be By business area and cost of the particular cost center by Cost element.
i.e revenue by Business area against cost by department.
It it possible to use report painter to create such report?. when i was going through the report painter it does not allow me to pull the cost  by department .

    Hi,
Business consolidation is for more of consolidation purpose and cost center grouping is more for management reporting purpose for cost control purposes.
Both the organizational units serve for different purposes. Consolidatied business will not have much meaning unless you go with EC-CS.
Cost Center Groups are much for control purpose and help in managerial reporting.
Business Units are part of FI Organizational Structure and Cost Centers are part of CO organizational structures.

  • Report of all sales orders for a business unit

I am analyzing revenue, and I would like to run a report that would list all sales orders and the value of those orders in a particular business unit.
I require the value of each and every sales contract during a certain period. Can I run a report that lists all sales contracts opened during a particular period?

    Hello,
from the standard SAP menu, under: "Logistics --> Sales and Distribution  --> Sales --> Information System  --> Orders" you can find some transactions reporting sales orders lists, such as VA05 or SDO1, which perhaps could fit your requirements. Otherwise you can create a query to merge the tables containing the information that you need. As of my knowledge there's not an organizational level called "Business unit" in SAP, so you should check if in the transaction mentioned above the field you use to identify the "Business unit" is available.
    Hope to be useful.

  • Show reports based on business unit in crm 2013

    Hi,
I have two reports Partner Report and Manager Report. I have created two business unit Partner and Manager. I want to show Partner report to Partner Business unit as like Manager report show only Manager Business unit. Please tell me how is it possible?

    Hi,
Assign business unit level read access to your entity for which you have written the Report.
Assign the respective business unit to the user, in your case assign business unit Partner to user Partner
and  business unit Manager to user Manager
Also use filtered view in your report if it is SSRS report.

  • Missing "Business Unit" in report?

    Hi,
for users there are fields "Business Unit", "Business Unit 1", ..., "Business Unit 4" as standard fields provided. When creating a report I cannot find "Business Unit", but BU 1...BU 4. Is there any reason for this missing field?
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

What subject area are you reporting in? You will notice that there are differences in the fields made available in real-time reports vs historical analysis. Over time, with new releases, these differences have diminished but unfortunately remain in some areas.
A quick check shows that the Business Unit field is available in Account History but is not available in real-time Account reporting. If this field is important for your report, make sure to build it from an area that supports it.

  • Questions on setting up PeopleSoft FIN AP Business Unit for India with TDS

    Hi,
Does anyone here have some advice for me on how to handle AP transactions for a business unit set up for India with TDS (withholding) and statutory reporting.
We are configuring AP BU for India in our existing database which has other BUs for other countries not using withholding. For India the way we understood on statutory is that all invoices must be recognised for withholding at the time of invoice entry or payment which ever ealiest. For PeopleSoft we always have to create voucher before we can make mayment so the earliest occurace will be at voucher entry that withholding should be deducted (at voucher post).
The problem that we are encountering is that if we have prepayment invoice, we can use prepaid voucher to record this. However, when we receive the final invouce and entered into PeopleSoft the voucher post reversed the original withholding lines and recreate in the final invoice with final invoice amount. This could be in different period. As for the India rule the way we understood this is that the entries that created at prepaid should not be reversed, also those withholding might already be paid to the goverment in prior period before receiving the final invoice. The final invoice should have withholding calculate just for the difference of the invoice balance.
Our other problem is on the statutory reporting that all transactions should be recorded in that particular period. Our current setup has AP close period at the end of each month which means we cannot enter invoices raised in previous period or have adjustments put in the period that already closed.
Any help and advice on how companies that has India AP business unit deal with the above mentioned issues are much appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Thanks Marc Sachdeva.
I don't mean where to set up withholding. I have alredy configured all withholding details and everything works fine in AP.
However, as India statutory comes in, I'd like to know how other companies handle cases like accounting entries for transactions in specific period if your system has AP/GL closed periods. Normal cases would be put entries in the next accounting period. But as my understanding on the Indian rules is that withholding must be recorded at the time of entering the invoice. So how should adjustment be made.
Another thing is the prepayment invoices, using PeopleSoft Prepaid voucher would cause the accounting entries for withholding lines to be reversed and then re-recorded when posting the final invoice (that matches with the prepaid). I would like to know how companies are dealing with such case as the TDS lines could be revsersed and recalculate in different accounting period. Also if the period that it revsered the TDS % could have changed and when the reverse happens it will recalculate withholding based on the new rate for the whole of invoice amt.
For example an invoice of 10000 INR, 50% is to be recorded and paid in advance so raise the invoice of 5000 INR in Feb. TDS is 10%.
    - So vendor will be paid 4500 and 500 is for withholding.
    - In April then receive final invoice of 10000 INR, record into PS as 10000 but matched to prepaid so the remaining invoice is 5000. withholding rate in Apr is now 15% so 15% should be applied to the remaining invoice of 5000 INR. As the prepaid voucher option reversed withholding lines and recalculate with final invoice total so the withholding to be deducted is calculated at 15% = 1500 (10000 * 15%).
    - As the prepaid invoice withholding might have already been paid in March before the rate changed, the final invoice should have withholding of 750.
I'm not sure if my understanding of recording withholding for India is correct and whether it really needs to be recorded in the month that invoice is raised. As the way I understood and have been told it has to be recorded in that month. I.e. invoice received on 30 April must be entered into accounting period of April. Our business close AP/GL about a week before the end of month so if we receive invoice on 30th April but our AP/GL already closed on 25th Apr then 30th Apr invoice should go to May accounting period. As statutury requirement is to record this into April. How does anyone handle this?
    Thanks.

  • Business unit against each partner.

    Hi all,
I am new to HR and not much in experience with ABAP aswell.
I need to generate a report that shows each customer from kna1 alongwith the business unit.
I saw some sample programs .To fetch the busines unit they are using ldb PCH. infotypes 1001 and 1008.
    Though i am not sure.
Please advice how can i do this.
    Thanks in advance.

In BCS this would most likely be where a matrix consolidation is configured and the master data for related cons units is not maintained for this combination.
If this is BPS, as you mention, there may be a defined validation check for acceptable combinations and this combination is not included.
Because it is only a warning, are the results okay?

  • Track Purchases/payments Sales/Receipts for 2 business units in 1 OU

    Hi,
We have one Operating unit and need to capture the liabilities/payables for 2 different business units. What approach can be undertaken to set up the liability account ?
Should we maintain 2 different liability accounts ?
If the same supplier deal with both business then at which point do we enter different liability accounts ?
How do we track the purchases made for each.
    Kindly through some light.
Same is required for the AR side too.

    Hi
2.On the Purcahsing side , when entering the po the users should put the BU value in the segment when entering non-inventory(expense) item . How about the inventory item purchase ?
Ans:You can use two separate Sub Inventories for each BU
    3. Any ideas to overcome the inability to receive cash against BU ?
Ans: There is an Account Generator called AR: Substitute Balancing Segment: Replace Balancing Segment. Using the WF customization, I understand this could be possible. But it will not be supported by Oracle because before the receipt hits the Cash account it has to pass through several intermediary accounts like unapplied receipts, undentified receipts, Confirmation account, Remittance account On account receipt etc., Only R12 Subledger Accounting has the supported solution. If you are using Oracle Public Sector Financials, then there is a solution for this called Multi fund receipt in 11.5.10.
    4. Just like we can setup different transaction types in AR, can we have some means to identify the purchase/invoices of the 2 different BU ?
Ans: You need to capture only through a DFF. But I feel this is not required when you run the AP Trial balance report, you need to specify the Liability account. So if you give in that as BU2, you are going to get only BU 2 related invoices and if you specify BU1, it is going to filter BU1 invoices only. If it does not happen also you can customize this report to filter in that way.
    Hope this helps

  • Multi-tenancy for a seperate business unit

Apparently, we can't do multi-tenancy with SCSM 2012 R2 (see link below).  We'd like setup SCSM for one of our business units, but we don't want any of their stuff mingling with our IT stuff.  It looks like we'll have to create a
new Management Group.  Is it possible to create a new Management Group on the same server as our current IT Management Group, or do we need a new server ?
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/0891a803-c5f6-4e21-9958-ea4adc2381c6/scsm-2012-multitenant-architecture
Also, to save some work, is there a way to export settings (eg. for the connectors) from our current IT Management Group to the new Management Group ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
as per Microsoft Definition "The Service Manager management server and its associated Service Manager database make up a Service Manager management group." This means, that if you need additional Service Manager Management Groups, you have to install
    additional servers.
I find it very handy, that you can leverage a single data warehouse Management Group and centralize your reporting if you register your many Service Manager management groups with a single data warehouse management group:
"In your enterprise, you might create multiple Service Manager management groups. You can centralize reporting for multiple Service Manager management groups by registering multiple Service Manager management groups with a single data warehouse management
    group."
    Source:
Planning for System Center 2012 - Service Manager Deployment
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh519640.aspx
About exporting your settings...They should be stored in management packs, which you can import in the new management group. About the connectors - you have to recreate them in the new environment and this shouldn't be a big administrative effort. It will
take probably not more than 30 Minutes to recreate all possible connectors.
I hope I could help you further.

  • Assign Chief Position to custom OM Object Business Unit

    Hello
Is it recommended or doable to assign chief position via 012 relationship to the top most custom object Business  Unit. Currently the  chief position relationships is for Org Units. We would like to keep Chief Position to OU, also if possible to create similar 012 relationship to Business Unit. Since Business Unit will have one-to-many relationship with Regions, need is to identify chief position for the Business Unit for reporting purposes.
Evaluation path for Business Unit - Region - OU - Position - Person.
    Thank you.

yes, in om structure it will be seen as top most OM object business unit (top most)  region --> o.u. --> position --> person. Can I use 012 relationship of position assigned to top most business unit and keep 012 position relationship to OU.?
Narrowing down. Currently, chief position relationship is assigned to top OU that is tied to region 1:1 relationship. Now with the new top most custom object business unit has many regions. So need to identify top most region tied to business unit via 012 position.
    Is it possible and how?

  • Business units info requirements

    Dear FI Experts,
I am a novice. I hope you could share some information regarding information requirements of the different business units in terms of finance reports.
For example, for Marketing, what sort of finance information would ,say line managers, require operationally?
Likewise for Sales unit and manufacturing or production unit.
Would appreciate if you could let me know the broad picture.
    best regards
    Sanjay

    Hi Sanjay,
For catering the different needs of the business units like marketing, sales units area wise geographical wise, SAP has come with COPA (Profitability Analysis), in this module u can see the required info based on your marketing segment and geographical segment or product wise.
Coming to specific report as you are saying for marketing,  a line manager can generally look how much cost has been incurred in their area and how much sale has been happened and compare the Profit margin.
coming to requirement it might changing as per business therefore there wont be any specific report kind of a stuff.
Thats why using COPA u can customize your requirement as you can?
    Hope u understood

  • Help needed to report open orders from R/3 SD!

    Hello all,
I need to report net open order value from SAP R/3 SD to BW. I'm using cube 0SD_C05 to report inquiry vs. quotation vs. orders. Is there any standard ods object in business content which can be used to report open orders? If not, will it be a good idea to create a ODS object and use it directly for reporting open orders? This BW installation is for a small IT company and we don't generate a lot of quotations or orders on a daily basis. Please guide.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • How to set up Pymnt Method for different business units

    Hi,
Can anyone shed some light as to how to set up P Method in FBZP in a way that one type can be identified according to its Business Unit?
To clarify, FBZP is currently set up in a repeated way:
    Pymnt Methods:
    T - Transfer - Business Oil
    S - Transfer - Business Engineering
    V - Transfer - Business Equipment
    A - Boleto - Business Oil
    N - Boleto - Business Engineering
    C - Boleto - Business Equipment
As you can see, we are repeating same payment method as it is needed for business to identify which business unit this refers to.
Is there a way of setting up only one type of Transfer and one type of Boleto and how this will categorize the type of Business Unit ??
    Any input is welcome
    Regards
    Roger

    Hi Roger:
How about some enhancement on F110? The logic would be something like read all the proposal lines, group by profit center and then re-assign the payment method based on profit center. There are couple of user exits available starting with RFFOX###, depending on the payment method and the program you using.
Something similar to substitution rules user exit.
Not sure if there is any other standard configuration to combine lines by profit center.
    Thanks.

  • How to Capture Multiple Cost centres and Business Unit information in a project?

    Dear Experts,
With the help of UDA functionality in project super responsibility, I have captured Cost centre and Business unit information and this info will be used/reflected in CC and BU segments of all transactions gets recorded against that project.
Now, our user wish to have multiple cost centres and business units to be tracked in the same one project. How is this feasible? Below example describes my requirement in a summary, please advise.
An Indirect project is created when a defect on a machine reported from client's customer and all subsequent activities (purchases, travel to customer site to analyse and troubleshoot, purchases for any in-house analysis etc..involves costs spending internally) in resolving that defect/project involves 6 to 7 different departments (Sales, Tech Support, Quality team etc.,who actually work/travel and spend costs against project until defect resolution). And, each of the above departments will have 1 dedicated owner (project owners) to manage that project and each of these 6 or 7 owners owners will have their own cost centres (eg: 2345 - Sales team) against which they wish to see their transactions (travel, purchases during defect resolution) globally.
So, all I want to know is how can I make one single project to accommodate multiple cost centresand business unit information to be assigned using UDA? Please let me know if I am not clear.
    Regards
    Venkat

I think you should use the expenditure organization on the transaction itself to derive the CC/BU. Have AA lookups and define AA rules where you look at a Exp Org to BU or Cost Center to derive accounting.

  • Crystal Reports to Business Objects

    Hi Gurus,
Please help me out with your valuable suggestions. Here is my scenario,
Very recently my client implemented Business Objects for their Corporate reporting in place of Crystal Enterprise.
There are about 400+ reports that to be converted in Business Objects. In the phase 1 we planned to convert the High priory reports of about 80 + reports.
Our game plan is to convert CR to Universes and then after using Universes >>>webi reports. Please suggest me whether we are going in the right path.
After analyzing the reports I found like we are using about 65-80 tables over all. Please suggest me, Can I create a single Universe and point the 70 reports to that single Universe or do I need to create a single universe for single crystal report.
Moreover, we are upgrading my back end too. But in future some of the tables, fields may exist or not. As the Back-end is also in the initial phases. So please suggest how to convert the CR to Universe with back-end modification.
As having discussion with client. User have no experience in creating any sort of reporting, All they need is exact the same report in Business Objects.
Please post me your valuable suggestion.

    Hello,
    Here a are few tips:
    - How many different data sources are used?
A Business Objects universe can only point at one data source (there are some workarounds for this). Therefore it's quite important to know how many different data sources are involved.
    - Complexity of reports
When developing complex reports in webi you'll find that you can't always meet the requirements by using standard webi functionality.
In that case you will have to move some of the more complex calculations to the universe. Therefore it's not uncommon for a very complex report to have one universe but in most case a universe will serve multiple webi reports.
    - Ad-hoc reporting.
From reading your post I donu2019t think this is very relevant to you but I mention it anyway.
If users want to use the universe for ad-hoc reporting, always make sure that you give proper business descriptions to the dimension and measure objects.
Also, it's important that you don't try to stuff everything into one universe as this will confuse the business users. Try to divide the universes into the logical business areas i.e. finance, HR, Purchasing etc.
    - Training / Involve the Business
Have you considered training a few web intelligence super users that can help converting some webi reports?
If you involve the Business users at an early stage of the project, the reaction to the change of reporting system will be a lot more positive.
    - Make the reports more intuitive
Instead of simply re-developing all the reports in exactly the same way as they were developed in Crystal look for ways to enhance the usability.
Business Objects has many great features that could help with this i.e. input controls, data tracking, profiles, dynamic recipients etc).
Also, you will find a lot of duplication i.e. multiple version of the same report with different prompts. You should possibly try to consolidate those reports.
    Best regards
    Rim Geurts
EDIT: Like Fritz mentioned, you probably don't need to migrate all of the reports because you can simply migrate you Crytsal report to te new BO environment
