Need to update email password in settings

i can't tap on my email account in settings, how can I fix this?

If they are greyed out in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars then check to see if you currently have Settings > General > Restrictions > Accounts (under the 'allow changes' heading) set to 'don't allow changes' - if you do then change it to 'allow changes'

Cannot update email password in settings - prompted for password every time I check mail

Every time I open my email inbox I am prompted to enter my password. Whether I enter it or "x" out of it, it continues to ask me for it every time. I went into settings and the stored password is not the correct one, so I update it, press done & it either says "server unavailable" or "save/edit," either way, it doesn't work (doesn't save when I press save, or doesn't allow me to save at all b/c of "unavailable server." Please help!!!

I have, endlessly. It continues to prompt me every time. And when I try to update my password in settings I see it is the incorrect one, but cannot change it either because it won't save even though it says it is.. Or it says the server is unavailable.

Go into settings, the email section. For that specific account, you can enter a different password.

Nevermind, I fixed it (I think). I went into Settings | Accounts & Sync and found Yahoo at the bottom of the list (alphabetically). I selected it and it had an optiion to delete the account, which I did.

Hi,
I´m new to blackberry but have already succeeded in setting up 2 email accounts.
The 3rd one altough I can send and receive email I constantly receive an email to update my password and that messages are not being sent to my BB.
It´s a pop webmail from a portuguese provider (clix).
Can anyone help with this?

I would first suggest that you go to that email provider account and update the password.
Then make sure you also update with the same password at your BIS account login.

Email won't set up - keeps saying I need to update account password

Hi
Can anyone help please.
I have tried everything I can to set up email from my Passport.
I have a pop account and am using Windows 8 on my lap top. I get mails to the lap top and have sync the contacts and calender (created back up file) but when I try to set up email, I put the existing account details for the server etc and it keeps coming back with 'your email account can't be set up right now, please try later' then I get a mail message syaing my account needs to be updated with a password.
I have two email accounts, one at Tiscali and one on our own server.
Any ideas??

And, "our own server" is what kind of server, IMAP, POP or what?

Need to update email address for icloud

I cannot figure out how to update my email address for icloud

If your phone is signed into an old iCloud ID and you are trying to change it to a newer version of the ID, do the following:
If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

Are you getting an error message?
If your account is already set up:
Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calenders->Tap your Yahoo email then tap your email address (account). You can then enter your new password in the box.

I need to update my Apple ID settings on iPhone 4 to match my new ID on iCloud

I am in a mess, as it seems I now have multiple Apple IDs and passwords. I want to use only 1 for iPhone, iStore, iCloud and FindmyiPhone app. On my iPhone4 using IO 5 , I cannot change the Apple ID under Settings/Store. Therefore I cannot login to download apps.

Hi Julie, I have the same issue (except to complicate matters even further the .me address I'd like to keep is an alias) and have spent over an hour on the 'Express Support' chat tonight; where I've been told that to date Apple will not merge two accounts and if you choose to delete one account, that .me address/ID will never be available again ... I did ask if this was something Apple were looking at changing, but was told:
"Once an @me.com email address is created once it is used forever. To create an account you would have to use an email address that would have never been used before. I wish there was a way for us to do that, however there is not. The only way to free up an @me.com email address would be if we recycled accounts and we currently are not doing that."
Crystal, the support technician, then went on to state:
"When you remove an alias from an account that permanently deletes it and makes it unable to be used again on that account it was deleted from or on another account."
followed (after my attempts at suggesting various work-arounds) by:
"Merging of Apple IDs is something that we are unable to do. There are a series of Apple Discussion Boards stating this as other customers discuss not be able to merge their IDs also. If you click on Frequently asked questions at this link, it also states that we cannot merge IDs: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895"

HT201320 Can't reset email password in settings, keeps reverting to old password

Changed yahoo mail password due to being spoofed I think. When I change it in IPad settings, it will verify ok but when go back to the settings it is the old password in mail settings.

This would be a question for Yahoo.

I have recently had to change my email address. Successfully changed it everywhere except in the settings area - icloud - apple id - on my ipad help please

When you deleted the acct. did you do it by going to settings, iCloud and deleting it there?
Try doing that then power it all the way off then back on again and try adding it back again. If it still shows up, you should be able to highlight it and enter your new one.

TECH Support--Need help changing email/password

I have had my Skype account for several years now...and after getting my first smart phone recently, I've tried to add my account on the phone. But the email I used to create my Facebook page (which is how I link to Skype) is nonexistent now (i deleted it and got a new one). Also, my Facebook password does not apparently work when I try to change my email for my account.
I will supply whatever information is necessary to change my email--please help with accessing my current password or changing the email, if possible. Otherwise, I will ask that Skype deletes my account so I can make a new one. Thanks!

You must enter your user ID and password TWICE. Once for incoming mail, and once for the outgoing (SMTP) server.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

I have had the same email account synchronised with my blackberry curve for 13 months. Tonight I got a message saying I need to verify email password. When I type it in it says wrong password. Anyone got any ideas?

This does happen to me time to time on my yahoo but when i enter the password its fine. You got two ways to fix this issue 1.Change your password 2.is to type in the correct password.
I changed my password when my BB kept asking me to verify my password ever since that never happened again!
