Netscape package (plugin???)

Hey,
I'm currently doing an applet that requires me interacting with javascript (bidirectional communication). And I apparently don't have the netscape.javascript.* package to import. I've looked around for a day and everything
http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/index.jsp says this:
Java Plug-in technology is part of the current version of the Java Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (Java SE)
but I know i have the current version of JRE on my linux machine (i have a unbuntu box and also a Powerbook G4) and the default JRE for my mac.
Can anyone please help me? Thanks!

Netscape using plugin doesn't display Japanese characters in a tree node

Hi,
I have a problem displaying a swing tree node name in Japanese. The problem only occurs on Netscape browsers. When I run the same applet with Internet Explorer, all the Japanese displays correctly. Now, with Netscape, the node name is displayed in little rectangle characters but the tooltip is displayed in Japanese. I don't believe I have any problem with the Java code because it works with IE.
I am using the java 1.3.1_01 plugin on a Windows NT machine that has a Japanese OS. I've also installed Japanese versions of Netscape. Also, Netscape is able to display my help files in Japanese correctly, so I am wondering if the problem is with the java plugin.
Any clues?

Found the problem. I set a font type of Arial. It's best to set the type to MS Gothic, or dont' set it at all so the system default font is used.

Netscape 6 plugin applet security

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has been able to get a unrestricted Java Applet to work over Java Plugin in Netscape 6. I have a signed applet which I can grant all permissions to in IE via the initial Java Plugin (1.3.1) dialogue box. However, the same operation in Netscape 6 does not grant the Applet any permissions - and I get security exceptions when I try to perform a restricted operation such as accessing the filesystem.
After a bit of fiddling around, I have realised that Netscape 6 does not read the information in the .java.plugin file in my home directory and although it reads the info in JRE_HOME/lib/security/java.policy, it seems to loose it almost immediately and not grant any permissions set in the default policy file.
Any help with this particularly thorny issue would be welcome!

I am also stuck up with the same problem. I have an applet which gets loaded with signed jar in IE with plugin 1.3.1 but it is unable to load in Netscape and gives the following error in the java console. If get hold of any clue or solution , you may plz respond ASAP becoz, it is a very urgent task for me.

Java 1.4.2 Plugin doesn't work on Netscape 7.1 on Linux

Hi,
When I run the Java 1.4.2 plugin on Red Hat Linux 7.3, I get the following error when Netscape starts up:
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: No manager for initializing factory?
System error?:: Success
After that Netscape just quits. If I remove libjavaplugin_oji.so, then Netscape starts fine but doesn't have Java. Netscape 7.1 doesn't work with Java 1.4.1_03 on Linux either.
Netscape 7.02 does work with both versions of the Java plugin on Linux. Has anyone gotten Netscape 7.1 running with Java? Does anyone have suggestions?

It didn't work for me .... The applet started then netscape came back to the prompt with the following error. (System is Suse Linux 9.1 and Netscape is 7.2) Any Ideas??
I am also listing the sybolic link to the jre.

Netscape Plugin / Weblogic - response hangs

We just switched over to using the netscape nsapi plugin.with weblogic. At
some point in the chain from the appserver to the webserver to the browser,
the response is hanging, and the browser keeps trying to load the page even
though all the content is already there. The connection is staying open. We
tried the keep-alive in the .properties file but that didnt seem to work.
The delay is 30 seconds each time before the connection finally closes.
Anyone know about this? NES / WL5.1

how to install netscape java plugin? how to delete old plugins?
Why must we install this plugin?

If you use netscape 4.x and want to use e.g. swing classes or any other new class files that came with jdk/jre 1.2.x and 1.3.x, then you need to use the plugin (you also need to change the html page from where the user accesses your applet). Just keep in mind that if the user doesn't already have this plugin, it means he will have to download and install it (5-8MB I think).
The same goes for iexploder.

Can't Import netscape.javascript; classpath set properly

I have an applet that is trying to say
import netscape.javascript.*No matter how I try to compile it, I get the error
package netscape.javascript does not existI am primarily using ant for building; here is the pertinent section of my build.xml file:

javac -classpath "./;javaclasses/packages/epsgraphics.jar;/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0_update13-sr2/jre/lib/plugin.jar;javaclasses" myApplet.javagives the same error.
Moving plugin.jar to my local directory, or any other directory specified in the classpath (which worked just fine until I tried accessing plugin.jar) and re-jiggering the classpath so it can be located gives the same result: it can't find netscape.javascript.
I'm using javac from java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0_update13-sr2 on Suse Linux 10.3.
What am I missing here?

As noted, the class is present in the jar file, as revealed with 'jar -tf plugin.jar'
I've fiddled with separators, as well. You're correct that a colon is used under Linux; that is what I had used in earlier attempts, but wound up copying the latest incarnation, which was desperately cribbed from another forum's example, thinking that Java might have other ideas. None of the variants I tried worked.
Trying it again, replacing the command line given with colons, still doesn't work; fails with the same message.
Currently pursuing another Ant solution, with no joy.

I'm new in Java so I don't know how to add any external classes to my Java environment. I've downloaded
the ifc112 library, I have all sources, I defined the environment variable CLASSPATH but still when I write in code:
import netscape.javascript.JSObject;
the compiler tells my that the netscape package no found. Maybe I need somthing more then j2sdk1.4.2_03?
please help!

The JSObject is located in plugin.jar which located in: ..\java\j2rel..4.2_03\lib on my machine.
plugin.jar is part of the Java 1.4 sdk.
Direct your project to reference plugin.jar and it should fix your problem.

Picture package plug-in might be in wrong folder in cs4

My problem is this. I successfully installed the Picture Package plugin for PS CS4 but then ran into a problem with the computer and had to go to an earlier restore point. After restoring the computer I needed to reinstall Picture Package. When I installed the plug-in I must have accidentally installed it in the wrong folder. I've repeatedly tried to reinstall it from the exe file but I get the message "not enough memory, or don't have write privileges." I suspect one can't install Picture package twice. But now my problem is that I don't know into which folder Picture Package installed so that I can move it to the right folder. Or do I need to unistall the plug-in and try again. But how do I do that?

16 bit Picture Package

I would like to have a Picture Package plugin that can produce 16 bit images from 16 bit files and runs with Photoshop in 64 bit mode on a Mac.

Adobe changed plug-in support In the Subscription version of CS6 so some old plugins like Picture Package and Web Photo Galery no longer work.
Adobe does not do a good regression testing they do not maintain Photoshop so it backwards compatible with previous versions of Photoshop. They remove features they have added and break features. Its a good idea to keep old version and not so old version of Photoshop around.
CC 2014 added and removed features and removes some support.
I have written Photoshop scripts that I use to do thing like Picture Package and Web Photo Gallery.

I've tried to deploy my application into the Azure Worker role but could not get it done successfully. I hope somebody can help me.

You can try it later. I had this issue long ago and waited one day.
You also try those two solution:
1.redeploy your project to worker role and enable the RDP setting (see this blog
2.recklessly, you could delete your worker role and redeploy it. The error will be disappeared.

Write permissions for FCP plugins

Hi,
I have downloaded some trial film effects plugins to see if they are apropriate for a project I am working on -and to see if they are any good of course. They are from a company called nattress. Anyway, I am not sure how to get the write permissions to install them in my plugins folder. I have the read permsissions, but not permission to write. Can anyone tell me how to do this or even reccommend some other good film look filter package plugins? This is rather urgent so any helpful response would be greatly appreciated.

Copy the plugins (folder with plugins) to your FCP plugins directory:
<pre>/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins/</pre>
Just drag and drop the files/folder inside that Plugins-folder. You will then get a dialog about Authentication. Click the Authenticate button, type your password and click OK.
If you still can't get this working, you can put the files/folder inside your home directory, inside the following folder:
<pre>Library/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data/Plugins/</pre>

VM in Running (Installing Extensions) state - it seems it's failing to enable the Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.IaasDiagnostics plugin

My VM is in the follow state "Running (installing extensions) state. In the dashboard it appears that the IaasDiagnostics extension is not enabled. The message displayed in the dashboard is:
Enable failed for plugin (name: Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.IaaSDiagnostics, version 1.2.0.0) with exception Command C:\Packages\Plugins\Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.IaaSDiagnostics\1.2.0.0\DiagnosticsPluginLauncher12.exe of Microsoft.Azure.Diagnostics.IaaSDiagnostics has exited with Exit code: -3
How can I get this working?

Can you RDP into the VM? If yes, you can check the log in the path below to see if you can find any root reason for this issue:
C:\WindowsAzure\Logs\WaAppAgent.log
I also tried to use the Remove-AzureVMDiagnosticsExtension cmdlets to do that and got the same results as yours:
I am sorry to say that I haven't found any ways to remove the DiagnosticsExtension in Azure PowerShell at present. I recommend you to feeback this on the Azure feedback

By the way, you can access the
preview portal by going to Browse Virtual Machines, select the VM, select
Extensions, select the extension to remove and click Delete. After it has been deleted, go back and select
Add and add it back.
