As CS 6 was never tested on any of the latest versions, there could be an issue with compatibility of the OS and the software that you are using.

Computer issues since installing Photoshop Elements 11
I have had nothing but problems in other software programs since installing PE11. The most recent? PE11 replaced ALL of my programs with itself. Try to open Excel? You get PE11. This happened with every program. I had to totally uninstall PE11 to get my computer back. Any suggestions? I have a newer HP running Windows 7. I'd like to use PE11, but wondering if its worth the frustration.

Getting a new computer - Can I redownload Photoshop Elements 7.0, registered?
Hello!
I'm getting a new computer. My old one has Photoshop Elements 7 on it, and I've managed to register it to my Adobe account, so I've got the serial code.
I hear that you can re-download Adobe software if you have the serial code. The general idea that I've gathered is that you have to download the trial, enter your serial code, and then you can have the full version of Photoshop Elements 7.0.
Will I have to uninstall Photoshop Elements 7.0 from my current (old) computer in order to download it onto my new one?
Are there any terms or variables I should know about?
Thank you in advance!To deactivate an installation you normally just need to open it and choose Help -> Deactivate. If that is not how it works for PSE7 then I guess there is some other mechanism.
The other option is to ask Adobe Support to reset your activations by contacting them thru cha.

Installing photoshope elements 12 and premiere elements 12 on Mac/windows
I own a Mac with bootcamp installed. so I have a mac and windows 7 (one computer)
I have installed photoshop elements 12 and premiere elements 12 on mac
and want to install it on the window side.
On the windows 7 side I do have photoshop elements 7 installed but, what to uninstall and
put in 12.
12 has been registered
and so has 7All versions of Elements can coexist, so you don't need to uninstall v7. Also note Barbara's reply in your other discussion concerning licensing.

Need to re-install lr4; but would like to upgrade lr5 instead
I had to replace my hd in my laptop. I previously had LR4 installed. Now I would like to upgrade to LR5. How to I update my license from LR4 to LR5? I do not have the LR4 software but do have my license key.

you probably should have two files, an exe and a 7z file in the same directory. if so, click (or double click) the exe.

I havev installed a new Hard Drive on my laptop but cannot find my Photoshop Elements product box with the serial number to install Elements 10 or Elememts Premier 10. How can I find out the serial / installation codes for these? I saw a reply however, it was not my name and assumed it was for someone else. Now timed out. Can UI still have help on this matter please?
If you registered PSE before, go to the main page of adobe.com, sign in and go to your account and you should find the serial number there in your purchases.

I am trying to install Photoshop Elements on my new Windows 8 computer (I recently upgraded my windows 7 computer where Photoshop was working fine on before). It says the serial number is invalid. Do older versionsnot work on Windows8, or do I need to uninstall it from my old computer first?
You are allowed to have two activated installations. If you happened to have one on this Windows 8 machine before, it is possible that the activation used for it was never deactivated (did you deactivate it before you upgraded Windows?). Talk to Adobe support thru chat. They might be able to resolve this with you:

You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.

I installed Photoshop Elements 11 on a new computer a month ago. It opened several times until yesterday. I uninstalled it and now am trying to reinstall from the CDs that I own and it will not read the disk. Nothing happens. I had previously downloaded it to my laptop and work computer. How do I install it again?
You can't run PSE from a USB drive, nor can you transfer PSE to a different computer via a USB drive. PSE must be installed on a computer using the installer program provided by Adobe.

I don't have proof of purchase.. all I kept was the two cd's and the instruction book.I bought it in June of 2008, and don't think I have bank records that far back.I was hoping I could get the information from my installed copy.. there a long number on the bottom rightwhen I open it, but that didn't work and a number etched on the back of the cd... but it too didn't work....

It is not viewable on your old computer. We may be able to get you a replacement serial number. Do you still have your proof of purchase for Photoshop Elements 5?

and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version. -
