No 90 day Motion telephone support in the UK

This website offers 90 days free telephone support to people in the USA and Canada. Foolishly I figured there would be something similar in the UK. However when I phoned Apple UK for support I was told there wasn't any and to email iTunes support because I had purchsed Motion through the App  Store.
Itunes customer service say they can't help other than to give me a refund which doesn't solve my problem (because I actually want Motion, I just also want it to work properly) and to contact the Developer. The Developer is Apple! So Apple say it's iTunes and iTunes say it's Apple.
So basically there is no 90 day phone or any other tech support for Motion in the UK and I think Apple should make this clear at point of purchase, and since it's saving them money, give us a discount.

Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy ; click the Firewall option ; at the bottom of the window, click on the lock -- you'll have to enter your password to unlock the pane.

Click on Firewall Options
Click on Automatically allow...
Click OK -- and lock up (click the lock icon again) before you close the preference pane.  In the image above you can see two threads starting with "Compressor" -- below, scrolled out of sight will be more including one for Motion and one for FCPX (if you have it, and maybe even if you don't have it.)
If you're using a computer at work or at a school and you don't have the password (or a user account password) get the sysadmin to open it up for you -- Motion is an Apple app and it's a trusted app; there should be no problems getting permission to allow access.
[I use a firewall in a router instead of on my computer -- this computer is not directly connected to the internet and I have several other computers on a local area network all sharing the one internet connection.]

    Hi, i am having an issue with a basic motion scroll effect.
    I already watched and read every tutorial out there regarding this topic and even tried the adobe chat support, but the guy on the other end of the line disconnected me…, probably he didn't understand what i wanted from him because english is not my native language, so a will try to be very, very clear about this one..
    please note, that i am new to muse, this is my first project ever.
    my idea is as following:
    when the customer comes to our companies site, he just sees our logo on a white Background. the logo consists of, say, four elements. when the customer scrolls down, the logo starts to disassamble: first the first part of the logo flies out the left side of the site, then the second part of the logo vanishes down, then the third part of the logo flies to the right, then the fourth part of the logo flies to the top and out of the customers view. given what i have seen, it is possible to do that….
    so…..
    now i have the four parts of my logo imported as png files into muse and assembled them in design view to build our companies logo. I select every one of the four parts and go into the scroll effects tab left beside the layers tab. first i enter the same values for every one of the four parts: initial motion: 0x and 0x again for the left and right motion; key position ( t-handle) : 0px; final motion: 0x and 0x again for the left and right value.
    now i hit "preview".: the logo is "pinned" at the correct position, i can scroll but the logo stays where it is. so far so good….
    now i select all the four elements again and go to the scroll effecs tab. at "final motion", i click the down arrows and enter 1x. I hit Preview…
    when i am scrolling down the WHOLE logo goes down…. so far so good.
    NOW i want the first part of the logo to go down, THEN the second part to go left, THEN the third part to go up, THEN the fourth part to go right.
    so i select ONLY the first part, go to the scroll motion tab, at "final motion" i click the left arrows, then i enter 1x.( the up-down value, i set to 0 again).. i hit Preview…
    the first part of the logo goes left as soon as i start scrolling, the other three parts still go down at the same time…
    NOW i want the second part of the logo to start moving, when the first part has left the scene, not at the same time as the first part.
    SO I SELECT THE SECOND PART AND DRAG ITS T-HANDLE (KEY POSITION) DOWN TO, LETS SAY, 200PX. SO IT STARTS MOVING ONLY AFTER THE CUSTOMER HAS REACHED THAT POINT, RIGHT?
    BUT WHEN I PREVIEW THAT ****, THE LOGO IS NOT TOGETHER ANYMORE, THE SECOND PART IS FLOATING ANYWHERE ELSE BUT WHERE IT SHOULD BE…..WTFF????
    short: when i move the t handle, the initial position of the object changes. thats what i said to the adobe employee, but he said, that thats the expected behavior….
    but if thats so, how can i have my four parts correctly together, so they form my logo, but with different t handles, so that they all start to move at different times??
    Pleeease help me, i am dying of frustration here…..:( that behavior cant be right, right?

    But i really wonder how you did that. did you always switch between design view and preview view, then change the key position for 2px then switch back, to align the four letters? because i imagine that can get really frustrating, if you have a logo consisting of 58 parts instead of 4!:)

  • Does Motion 5 support the Keylight plug-in by Foundry?

    I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade my old and now unseable copy of AE or just make the jump over to Motion.
    I need to do some rather reasonably high-end chroma key and like the idea of being able to bring the footage into Motion and doing it there, but want to make certain the Final Cut version of the plug-in will work with Motion.
    Having a difficult time getting compatability questions answered.
    Anybody know for sure?

    The last release note for Keylight is from 28 October 2009, and hasn't been updated since.  So no, it's not FCP X compatable.
    There are other keyers that are dynamite in Motion.  Phyx, CHV, and the built-in keyer are all excelent.  I use all three, depending on what exactly I'm doing.  Phyx is probably the most professional (and was a Shake plugin originally).
    Motion 5 is only $49, so it's not like you're spending too much money for what you get.  And www.AppleMotion.com is a great resource for us Motion users, too.  And, get some real Motion training to make the switch, too.  Ripple Training has the two best video based trainings.  The book "Apple Pro Training Series: Motion 5" is the best hands-on training.

    Did you check through the whole menu content at the left hand side panel. There's a sub-menu called 'Customer Support Services Centers'. That's where the support contacts are.

Please help.

    Hello Steve.
    You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
    If you detect a faulty add-on, you should contact its author for support. You can also search for alternatives. Site filters are relatively common in the add-ons gallery: [http://addons.mozilla.org addons.mozilla.org].

  • Xtreme Gamer is "not Supported by the Application" Problem. He

    My SoundBlaster XFi Xtreme Gamer has suddenly stopping being detected by my creative software, such as Volume Panel. The drivers are installed, and when I hover my mouse pointer over the volume panel is still shows "SB X-Fi Audo [E000]" which is the sound card, but when I doubled click to open the volume panel it says that "The current selected audio device is not supported by the application. Do you want to select another audio device now?". When I click "Yes", it doesn't show anything on list besides "Windows Default Audio". This happened out of no wheres, with no changes at all to my computer. Volume Panel was working yesterday, but when I woke up today it wasn't. I have no idea what could be causing this, or what caused it... I did update the drivers about a week ago, but it was all working fine since, until today.
    I haven't installed or uninstalled anything since it was working properly.
    I tried reinstalling drivers and software, and it did not fix anything. I also uninstalled everything including drivers from computer, and used my original installation CD to install everything over again. Every installed fine, but then for some reason it would not install the drivers. Windows was detecting the device, but when I went to install the hardware manually, it would ask for CD to find some files to install... it said this twice, I located the files it needed, and each time it would complete the process it would instantly reboot computer without notice. When the computer was booted up, it would ask then ask again for the Creative CD to install the detected hardware. So I for awhile I could not install the drivers, but for some reason out of no wheres it finally installed when I used the update installation file I downloaded from Creative.com, even though I had tried the same thing a few times, it for some reason installed drivers. But now it is all installed again, my software seems imcomplete and will still not work with the sound device. What seems to be the problem here? Only thing I can think of now is the installation for some reason became corrupted. Only way I can think of fixing it is reformatting my whole computer, but as of right now I don't feel like spending a whole day doing so.
    Is there anything that you can think of to fix this problem? I have had the sound card for about a year now. As of right now, I am still using headphones in the soundcard, but it doesn't sound good at all as I can't change anything in software. I also noticed that is no longer has as much installed as it would if I used my original CD. It doesn't have an option to switch sound modes anymore. It also doesn't now have "X-Fi Soundblaster" in "Add/Remove Programs" list. All it has in Add/Remove is "Creative Audo Console".
    I uninstalled everything I could and deleted left over files in the Creative directory, so I deleted the whole folder after.
    Only other thing I can think of is something in the registery is messed up, and causing the sound card not to be recognized. I also have WinXP SP2.

    I spent yet another hour or two trying to fix it, and nothing changed.
    I put it into a different PCI slot, and made no difference.
    PCI slot doesn't seem to be the problem, I am thinking it is something within the registry itself.
    I also put in the CD and there was no option to remove drivers, so I just went ahead and tried overwriting them, but that actually made things worse. My computer kept rebooting over and over when it hit the Windows Boot Up logo, and had to go into safe mode and do a system restore to get it back to normal.
    It also keeps asking for the CD when windows loads and it detects the soundcard.
    It will ask to locate acouple files, I do what it it says, but just as it is finishing installing the drivers it reboots the system.... when windows is loaded again, it will ask the same thing over, and will keep giving same results.
    There isn't anything to completely remove all the creative files and folders including the 00's of registry keys. Maybe Driver Sweeper or Driver Cleaner Pro might help? ill try them, but as of now im not bothering with the soundcard.... ill just reformat. I just hope it ain't the card itself, because I am a month over the one year warranty, and the azzholes from creative said there was nothing they can do about it.
    That alone made me want to turn to a different brand next time with better support. Creative has some of the worst support I know of.
    They tend to leave people hanging with their defecti've hardware. What I don't get is, that the card still installs the drivers at times, and it will still work but the software won't.
    I have been using it this whole time, but seems to freeze up my Guildwars alot.
    It still sounds good, way better than Onboard, just not as good as before because there were no options for change mode, or couldn't access the equalizer.
    Anyone know of any programs that will completely remove everything for the Xtreme Gamer Creative Software? Including everything in registry.
    Also, is it possible that there might be a Windows Service that might have an effect on the problem? I tried enabling a few things, then try rebootin and reinstalling, but didn't seem to help.
    But then again, I am not sure which services would cause the problem.
    Definately something happened with the last Creative Driver update, only took a week afterwards for something to go wrong.

  • Airport express extension (old model) appears no longer supported by the airport software. What's up?

    I was gone for a few days and returned to a message from the Airport Extreme base station that the older airport express which I use as an extension for the network was no longer supported by the updated airport software. Does this mean that the old model can no longer be used anymore for anything? It initially showed a green light on my return, although the message suggested it wasn't. I did a soft, then a hard reset on that device and now it doesn't reset and is not recognized by the main base station at all. Is that the end for this particular piece of hardware? Appreciate any intelligence.

    I'm not sure what to suggest other than you may need to downgrade or fall back to an earlier version of the firmware for your Time Capsule. From the AirPort Utility you should see the object that represents your Time Capsule, click on that object then place your mouse/pointer over "Version" while depressing the Option key. You should see a menu of version numbers related to the firmware that the Time Capsule is using. Selecting a previous version number and then clicking "Update" will downgrade you to an earlier version of the firmware. I think the most current is 7.6.4 and I've read some other Apple Discussion posts that say that 7.6.3 is better than the current version. Not sure if this will help but I don't think it will hurt. I've done that on my iMac connected to an AirPort Extreme and while it didn't solve a separate issue I'm having with an older AP Express, it doesn't seem to have caused any issues with my network.

  • Can't install 30 day trial, Adobe Support is no help

    I've had no help at all from Adobe Support over the last couple days and have grown extremely frustrated.
    I'm trying to install CS6 on my new Mac. I deactivated it on my PC, but when I try to install it on my Mac, I'm told my serial number is invalid. After some research, I've learned I need to contact Adobe about this to do a cross grade, but none of the support outlets are working for me. The phone number says there is no phone support for CS, and the chat is perpetually not available or fails just as I get in contact with an employee. Sometimes it works but I can't answer back even though I can see answers coming in.
    In the meantime, I wanted to install a 30 day trial of CS6 so I don't get too behind on my work, but when I try installing it, I get the message that I need to close Safari first. I've followed all the steps Adobe provides in making sure the application is closed, and it most certainly is, but I still get the message that Safari needs to be closed. When I try to contact Adobe about this, I run into the same problems. This time, chat isn't even offered to me as an option.
    I don't know what I'm supposed to do, and Adobe has done nothing to help me in addressing my issues. Can anyone please point me in the right direction to fixing these problems? I would greatly appreciate it.

    Lindsay Duet I am sorry you have faced so much difficulty contacting our support team.  You may want to try utilizing a different web browser if you continue to face difficulty contacting support.
    In regards to needing to close Safari.  Have you tried closing the process using the Activity Monitor located in the Applications/Utilities folder?  If so then please reboot your computer, make sure Safari is quit, and try the installation again.
    Finally you are welcome to purchase the upgrade to CS6 online.  Please make sure that you choose Mac OS when purchasing the upgrade.  You will want to make sure you are logged into the same account which has your copy of CS5 registered when you make the purchase.  You can purchase the upgrade to CS6 at Creative Suite 6.
