No internet connection, log-in problems.. No help.

I've had a lot of troubles with my spotify this year. (Android)Months ago I didn't have any connection even though I was at home using my Wifi. I found help online and I was told to go to Settings in spotify and delete all cache and saved data. And then re-install the app. That was a downer cause I had to re-download all my downloaded albums or lists.Anyway, after doing this I had problems logging in with my new app. After a couple of times trying it finally worked. But it didn't last long. Maybe after 2-3 days my connection was again "gone". Even though I had full internet connection. I had to use my mobile network to listen to music, to download music (I use Premium) and my phone bills just kept getting bigger. I did the same thing all over again.. Clean all cache and data and reinstalled the app.. And now I can't even log in anymore.  It's been like this for a couple of months now. I'm considering to just give up and don't use Spotify anymore.

Hey
Thanks for reaching out to us and sorry to hear that you're having difficulties with the app.
To get this looked into, could you let us know the following:
- Which make/model of device are you using?
- Which OS are you running?
- Which version of Spotify are you using?
- Does this happen with other devices, or is this device specific?
- Do you have an SD card inserted in the device?
Also, we'd recommend to check how many devices are showing at this link. How does that look?
We're sure we'll be able to get this looked into for you!
Thanks

Problem connecting wirelessly from iMac to NETGEAR router, get invalid password message with WPA and WPA-2 encryption in place but if I remove them, so no security, can connect without a problem. Help!!

Thank you for your suggestion but I have already had a couple of phone sessions with NETGEAR support and they don't see any problems with the router settings etc. They referred me to Apple support, who helped me discover that it is possible to communicate with the router but only if I turn off the encryption/security software, which I don't want to do. The frustrating thing is that I can connect wirelessly from a laptop running Windows 7 and two Anroid smart phones, with WPA-2 in place, without a problem. Do you have any other ideas?

  • HT5945 Why does Instal Java SE 6 keep popping up and when I attempt to install it says that there is a problem with the internet connection ???  Please help

I keep getting a pop up reminder to install Java SE 6.  When I attempt to install it an error occurs saying that there is a internet connection problem and the Java cannot be intalled.  This thing pops up every 15 minutes.  Am I doing something wrong?  Thanks for any help

OK, so you don't have a working iTunes.
What I would like to do now is to try installing each iTunes component separately.
First uninstall the 5 iTunes programs that you have installed.
You should have iTunesSetup.exe saved in a folder on your PC, probably in the downloads folder. If not download and save it now.
Open the folder containing iTunessetup.exe with explorer.
Next open notepad and copy the following 3 lines into it.
    md temp
    itunessetup /extract temp
    pause
Save the file as extract.bat into the same folder that contains the itunes installer.
Open the downloads folder and you should find the extract file that you saved. Double click on it and a black window will open telling you what it is doing. When its finished, press any key to continue.
You should find that a folder called temp has been created containing all the itunes msi files.
Install in this order by double clicking on them:
    Apple Application Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Apple Software Update
    Quicktime
    iTunes
If one of the installs fails, stop and post the error message in full. I am hoping that by doing this separately we will get a better error message.

My Firefox automatically updated to Firefox 8. Since doing so, when I open the browser the screen displays a box saying 'Unable to connect' and says the same for any website. My internet connection is fine. I uninstalled and installed Firefox again, but problem persists. Please help as this is really frustrating me :(

  • Addition of third computer in network causes router to drop internet connection (is the problem Dropbox???)

This is not specifically about MacBook Pros, per se, but since all of the communities are based on specific products, I chose it since it applies to two of the devices concerned.
We have a LINKSYS WRT54G router in our home connected to cable internet.
We normally run a number of iOS devices on it at any given time (iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPhone 4, two iPad 2nd gen., one iPad Mini with Retina), and almost at all times, an Intel MacBook Pro on 10.6. We sometimes also have an Intel MacBook (black) on 10.6. These all live in harmony just fine. Both laptops have Dropbox on them, but signed in on different user accounts.
I used to have someone working at my house quite often on an Intel MacBook Pro on 10.7, also using Dropbox (but signed into a unique account). Whenever she had her computer on in our house, it would often cause the network to just drop the internet connection suddenly. The network would still have a strong signal, internet just wouldn't work.
We never quite figured it out. We had to reset the router constantly. It was NOT the modem -- you could reset just the router and the results were the same as if you had reset the modem. I didn't pursue a fix since she has since stopped working here.
Recently we just added an Intel iMac on 10.6 to the house, and it is doing the same thing. The only difference is this time, it's logged into the same Dropbox account as my MacBook Pro. At first, it seemed as if there was an issue if both were trying to update at the same time. When I paused syncing on one computer or throttled the upload/download bandwidth, it seemed to get better. However, lately, I am not syncing any large files -- or any files at all, it seems, sometimes -- and I also kept one machine on throttled connections, while a THIRD machine is even off completely...and it's still kicking the internet connection off.
Any ideas? I'm getting really tired of re-setting it every so often.
    Thank you!

Also, there are no other networks we pick up here. Sometimes, we randomly get the neighbor's, but it's protected and we don't ever join it.
    Try the basics first:
Change your router channel number.  Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem.  unplug it for about 10 seconds.  Plug it back in.  Do the same for Apple’s routers.  Wait for everything to reboot.
    System Preferences>Network
    Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

  • No Internet Connection - Apple, Where's The Help?

I started using my MBA last week and have been unable to consistently connect to the internet through wireless networks in multiple environments (my home, my office, airport, hotels) when other Apple laptops are connecting without issue.
Right now I'm on my old PowerBook because my MBA won't connect to the internet through the same Airport wireless network.
Reading the posts on this board it's obvious that there is a systemic issue with the MBA. Multiple posters have returned MBA 2X to give up and get something else. Lots of different variables, but the same result - no internet connectivity.
I just concluded another 1 hour call with AppleCare (2 hours in total now). The support person did everything to push the problem onto my modem and internet service provider. I kept coming back to "my PowerBook works just fine". She was totally rude, refusing to acknowledge that there is any systemic issue with the MBA. I asked her if she read the forum. Can hundreds of users be wrong? She fed me some party line and sent me back to my place of purchase.
Apple, what are you doing about this issue?
Has anyone been able to resolve this issue.

Unfortunately with networks and ISPs Apple will always have to ask about your ISP, the Router and your modem. It's information that is needed to accurately troubleshoot the problem.
There is a few things you can check.
    Open:
Applications > Utilities > Network Utility
Once in here the first screen is very informative.
The Info tab will show you many things, the pull down will let you select the interface. The wireless should be en0 or en1 . .
The things I'd look for is do you have an IP? and if you do what do you see in the Transfer Statistics? You should mostly see 'Sent Packets' and 'Recv Packets'. As long as you see numbers it's good. This shows the wireless is connected, has an IP and is transmitting.
I'm guessing that the people with the issue will not have an IP. If so there is more to check still.
(Or if they do the sent packets will be small and the Recv Packets will be minimal.)
Another spot to check is System Preferences > Network
    Highlight the Airport.
    You should see a 'status'
and then something like . .
AirPort is connected to YOURNETWORKSNAME and has the IP address 10.0.1.200.
If you are not connected use the pulldown menu and select your network. (Enter any password as needed.) Under the Advanced make sure you don't have a proxy UNLESS you need one.
Next make sure the network your trying to get to is reachable from a different wireless computer If you have that option.
If you have a different computer that you can connect wirelessly to YOURNETWORKSNAME and you see that your MBS's Airport is on and your password (if needed) is correct , in the Advanced section under TCP/IP you are using DHCP (Unless you have a static), and you don't have any proxies set (or it's set correctly if you need one.) and after All this you still aren't connecting. . . . you may want to bring it in . . .
Networks are fun . . . The next thing is you can be connected to a network but no route to the internet, this is usually a router problem. The other common problem is DNS not being set up right.
All this is enough to show the Apple Helpdesk people. In store they will be able to try to connect to their local net and duplicate the problem. Once they can see the problem they will fix it.
Sorry if I rambled some, Im tired and in need os sleep.

  • TS3297 Error message: 'Cant connect to the itunes store. An unknown error occured (-3212) please check you have an active internet connection and try again'. Help !

Can someone help me please ? I was using itunes (downloading albums etc) just half an hour ago. I had a pop up asking me if i'd like to download the latest version of itunes, which i accepted. • When I enter Yahoo.ca, I lose my internet connection(safari). Can anyone help me with this. Thanks.

When I enter Yahoo.ca, I lose my internet connection. This happens most of the time. Sometimes immediatly, other times after a few minutes. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

All that you had to do was to sign into the old account in order to update those apps. What I mean is that you just needed to sign into that account in the store settings like I described and that should have worked. You didnt need to enter the credit card information again - you justed needed to use the old ID and password.
Anyway, I think the good news is that if everything else is OK with the new account, just download iBooks with the new ID - it's a free app so its not like you have to pay for it again. I'm not sure what the other App is that you are talking about - but if it is the Apple Store App - that is free as well.
Try this anyway, when you try to update iBooks, just use the old password if the old ID still pops up.
Did you try signing into the store settings with your new ID and see what happens with the updates then?

  • Log in problems-please help!

    Hi everybody!
I repost my log in problems with some uppdate info, it may help someone to come up with a solution....I am no computer expert, so please excuse my way of describing this problem.
I switched my Mac off manually after having been frozen from the sleep mode.
I have 2 accounts, one admin and one regular. I try to log into my admin, and I get the message "You are unable to log in to the user "my username" at this time".
I restart the computer, same problem again. I can log in to my second account with no problem. I reinstall OS X, same problem again. I ran the disk utility from the installation CD, even changed the passwords and I am still gettig the same message. Neither can I log in when in safe mode.
I would appreciate any suggestion, since my admin account contains valuable data and to reinstal/restore everything will be a pain..and probably impossible. Moreover, the data are encoded in the file vault and I cannot open them from my regular account, or can I? I have tried to open the sparseimage file in the admin user catalog, but I get "no mountable file systems".
Is there any hope? Or should I return my Mac to Apple, in 3 days my one year guarantee expires....
    Thanks
    Evacha
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    "no mountable file systems"
Sorry to hear of your difficulties, but unfortunately, the above message suggests that your data is likely permanently lost.
When data is stored in a disk image, damage to any portion of that image has the potential to render all of the files on the image inaccessible. Shutting off the power to the computer without "shutting down" normally increases the risk of damage to the directory in general, but if the image was actually mounted at the time, then damage could also occur to the directory in the disk image. Sometimes such errors may be repairable, but with "FileVault", the disk image is encrypted, reducing the chances of a successful recovery. It is unfortunate that nobody told you that maintaining up to date backups is essential when working with "FileVault" protected accounts.
" the data are encoded in the file vault and I cannot open them from my regular account, or can I?"
Normally, only the owner of the ".sparseimage" used in "Filevault" is able to access the image to attempt to open it - this is strictly a permissions issue and has nothing to do with encryption. If someone other than the owner attempts to open the disk image, the message is something like "Filesystem failed to mount... permissions denied". If the permissions are changed such that other users are allowed to use the ".sparseimage", the they would normally be prompted for the password and be allowed to mount the image. However, the "no mountable file systems" error indicates a problem with the image itself.
It is not likely to succeed because I think the filesystem needs to be mounted for this to work, but there is no harm in trying to repair the disk image. Control-click on the "user.sparseimage" file and select "Get Info" from the contextual menu. Under ownership and permissions, change the "Owner" to the second user, or else give "Owner", "Group" and "Other" "Read & Write" access, then follow the instructions in this document:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25695
You could also try some of the strategies described in this hint, but again, the probability of success is low:
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050326041757989
I don't think you will be able to return your computer - check the documentation to make sure, but I think the "one year" only covers repairs if there is an actual physical defect - perhaps what is responsible for the original sleep problem. However, if you suspect you may have a lemon, you might want to consider buying two more years of AppleCare coverage as insurance, but I think it has to be activated before the original 1 year is up so you would have to hurry. But so far, I don't see any solid evidence of a defect - loss of the user data can be attributed to cutting the power without shutting down, which you said you have done more than once.

  • Connection to 2WIRE problem, need help soon before I have to format

I'll start off by providing a picture
    http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/8102/picture8zw1.png
Basically what happened was at first I wasn't able to connect to my Aunt's 2WIRE router, this was while I was using 10.4.9 (and after it stopped working I tried upgrading to 10.4.10 and nothing changed.) The reason why I couldn't connect was because nobody knew the password, but after calling SBC they disabled the password/WEP and disabled S SID broadcasst so that I could connect to it without any issues and without every neighbor being able to see the network.
This worked fine for about a week. Then one day it stopped working, and the only thing out of the ordinary is that the power in the house went out.
Here is the thing, I can still connect to a local Apple Network someone around me has set up. The only problem is 1) I cant stay connect for more than 10-20 mins and 2) Im stealing someone's internet basically.
I've called both SBC and Apple care. First I went to SBC, we did all the trouble shooting and they said it was a problem with my MacBook. I called Apple and they told me it was a problem with my router, but I forgot to tell them that another computer (a PC) is currently able to connect to the router, just not mine. But I called SBC again this morning and again they referred m e to apple care.... and I called Apple Care this morning but I was on hold for almost 45 mins and after 10 minutes of talking the call dropped so I just went to bed.
I think I might try calling them once more, but I'm more than likely going to format my computer. If anyone can give me any tips for I do so, please let me know.

    Hiya...
Just trying to help.. I dunno what sort of router your ISP is using... But doesn't your 2Wire router or modem have a software control panel? Which could be access via HTTP?
For most routers the IP address should be 192.168.0.1 or something similar.

  • Internet connect and mouse problems

My computer keeps asking me if I want to stay connected to the internet every 10 minutes. Its really irritating and if I happen to have stepped away for a minute it will log me out if I'm not there to press yes. Is there a way to make it stay connected without asking?
Also my mouse keeps jumping around the screen when I'm trying to work. Is there a way to fix that?
    Thanks!

    taliafr,
First of all, Welcome to the  Discussion Forums!
Also my mouse keeps jumping around the screen when I'm trying to work. Is there a way to fix that?
It might help to know what mouse you are using? Apple wired/wireless mouse etc. or third party?
A couple of things to try are to make sure your mouse pad is of a solid color instead of a patterned mouse pad (you can test by using a solid color sheet of paper). Secondly, go to System Preferences and make sure under KeyBoard & Mouse>Mouse tab settings that the tracking is not set all the way to fast. Also, if a wired mouse, try plugging the mouse into a different usb port if you haven't tried that already.
    hope that helps some,

  • No Internet Connection In Solaris 10 Please Help

I installed Solaris 10 on a Dell Dimension 3000 on my home network. It took my 3 days to finally figure out that I had to make changes to my /etc/driver.alias file but I finally got my integrated Intel pro/100 nic to work.
Now I can ping my DSL gateway and I can ping the other 'Windows' computers on my network but I cannot connect to the Internet. Help will be greatly appreciated.
Also. I am able to access my Gateways configuration pages through the web browser with http://192.168.1.1.
    Thanks in advance.

Looks like you need to setup your /etc/resolv.conf and use the correct /etc/nsswitch.conf
    1. To setup /etc/resolv.conf you need to know your ISP's nameserver IP. Since you have access to your router, you can get those information from there.
For example, my /etc/resolv.conf looks like this:
    search comcast.com comcast.net
    nameserver <comcast's primary nameserver ip>
    nameserver <comcast's secondary nameserver ip>
    2. Setup your /etc/nsswitch.conf by copying the /etc/nsswitch.dns to /etc/nsswitch.conf
After you make these changes, reboot the box and try pinging www.google.com
