NoClassDefFoundError: Can't instantiate class on WL, works fine locally

I have an ear running on WebLogic that contains an ejb. All runs well until the ejb tries to instantiate an object of ServiceFactory - one of our own classes.
In my unit tests, I could create an object of the class locally. It's on the server that the error occurs.
I'm guessing this is either a build/packaging issue or a WebLogic 10.3.6 quirk but don't know where to proceed from here given that the dependency exists in the ear (in APP-INF/lib). I've also tried moving the dependency that contains the class to the root of the ear. "Class-Path: " is blank in the MANIFEST.MF file for the ejb and the ear, but the product has run fine until now without them. I'm building with Maven.
javax.ejb.EJBException: what do i do: seems an odd quirk of the EJB spec. The exception is:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class com.company.ts.management.icm.service.ServiceFactory

A web application doesn't use the standard classpath settings.
It uses the web-inf/classes directory, and web-inf/lib
I'm not sure what the equivalent would be for blazix, but you need your jdbc driver in the web-inf/lib directory. - maybe blazix/lib if the pattern follows?
Hope this helps,

    Hello,
    I'm not sure, but i would try to put the package only in lowercase.
    Your class pakageis declared with first Upper case letter.
    And in you faces-config file, you declared with lower case.
    Note : it's recommanded to use only lower case for package name.

  • Drop down problem -javax.faces.FacesException: Can't instantiate class: ''.

    Hi,
    I am using jsf 1.1
    I am trying to populate a simple drop down in MyJsp.jsp with the List values generated in ContactsListBean.java. I am copying the code here for reference.
    when I launch the page (forwarding to this MyJsp.jsp in index.jsp) I am getting this error below. Can anyone help me out what is it that I am doing wrong?? I am unable to trace out what's wrong. I have even tried the same logic with h:selectOneListbox also but I get the same error..
    Any help/advice would be highly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

    Your class is now been put in a package? Good, now the next step is to remove all of those managed-property entries from the faces-config.xml. It makes no sense because 1) you already created the list in the backing bean and 2) you didn't assign any value to the item in the managed property.

    Hi Clark
    There is a good chance the printer is just getting auto IP internally..
    Plug it into your TC. And then set to dhcp via the controls on the printer.
    If you know the name of the printer it should be immediately available to the network.. but anyway, you can find its IP by printing out the test page. That will also give you the network name.
    Most later HP printers have web access to the print servers.. just type the ip into your browser and see if it comes up.
    From the Mac, you should then be able to set it up via the printer preferences. Most HP will just appear.. but if not you should perhaps delete the local version and then check again for network printers.

    Can't open Pdfs in firefox, works fine in Safari. Please help?

    This resolved my problem
    I checked and my Firefox is doing (or not doing in this case)  the same thing.  There seems to be a problem with the Snow Leopard and the Adobe browser plugin.  I was able to get Firefox working again by going to Firefox > Preferences > Applications and switching all to Adobe settings to "Use Adobe Reader (default)" instead of the plugin.  Then I went to Tools > Add-ons... > Plugins and disabled the Acrobat plugin.  Restarted Firefox and now pdf worked.

  • Page not displayed on server but works fine locally in Jdeveloper

    Hi,
    The page works fine locally when run from Jdeveloper.
    But when the page is imported to server and when the page is called....it trys to load the page for long time and times out and displays the IE error 'The Page cannot be displayed'.
    Do I have to do anything specific in server after importing a page?

    In the CO of the table region:
    public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    ApplicationModuleImpl am1 = (ApplicationModuleImpl) pageContext.getRootApplicationModule();
    SalesOrderHeaders2VOImpl VO1 = (SalesOrderHeaders2VOImpl) am1.findViewObject("SalesOrderHeaders2VO");
    String HeaderId = (VO1.first().getAttribute("HeaderId")).toString();
    if (HeaderId != null)
    Serializable[] params = {HeaderId};
    OAApplicationModule am = (OAApplicationModule)pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    OADBTransactionImpl DBTrans = (OADBTransactionImpl)am.getOADBTransaction();
    boolean log = DBTrans.loggingEnabled() ;
    // Write Diagnostic message...
    if(pageContext.isLoggingEnabled(1))
    pageContext.writeDiagnostics(this," am : "+am ,1);
    if(am != null)
    OAViewObject viewObject = (OAViewObject)am.findViewObject("InterfaceSummVO");
    if(viewObject != null)
    viewObject.setWhereClauseParams(null);
    viewObject.setWhereClause("header_id = :1");
    viewObject.setWhereClauseParam(0, HeaderId );
    viewObject.executeQuery();
    }

  • We had migrated our servers from a domain to cloud. all the web applications working fine locally, but from outside they are accessible but on editing giving 404 with some request id.

    hi all,
    recently we migrated our moss 2007 from a domain to cloud env. everything goes well and all the application working fine locally.
    but when users are trying from outside first they get promt for basic auth, that is enabled, its fine. then servers serve first page smoothly. all the application browsing is fine. but when authorized users are trying to edit a web page and they click on
    anything(save, submit for publication, publish) they get 404 with a request ID. another thing if they add a new page to app and then make any changes to that page then they are not getting any issue.
    please help if any one resolved that kind of issue.
    thanks in advance.
    SJ

  • Ethernet connected Apple TV 3 can't play content.  WiFi works fine.  What gives?

    Apple TV 3 has a strange problem since the latest update, 5.1.  It is only partially functional when hard wired to my router, but is fully functional when connected wirelessly.
    When hardwired, I can control it with the iOS Remote app, airplay from iPhones & iPad, and browse the menus of the various services, Hulu, Netflix, etc. But, when I try to play content, for example, a  Hulu show, I get a “there was an error…” message.
    When I connect wirelessly- everything works fine- I can play all the content without a problem.
    I prefer to have a wired connection, and have been using one successfully up until 5.1 – does anyone know how to fix the  limited functionality of the wired connection?
