Non-Best Buy Purchases no longer getting points on MyBestBuy Mastercard

This to let who it may concern know, that I will probably be cancelling my BestBuy Mastercard soon. I have not recieved points for my account since 9/10/2013 on all of my Non-Best buy purchases. I have called the "Elite Customer Service Line" about 4 times since this started and every time they have apparently added in notes and I would be contacted and this probably would be fixed within 1-2 weeks. Well I called today again and was told the same thing. Which I am sure nothing will be done about yet again. So this is just to let you know that I am missing thousands of points and should not have to call multiple times to fix a merge issue because you guys wanted to update the name of your rewards program and weren't trained to merge accounts correctly. This is pretty sorry customer service for a 10 billion dollar company. The worst part is to fix this problem probably takes about 6 clicks of a mouse... Thanks Best Buy.

If you have a My Best Buy™ MasterCard, then you should earn 1 point for every $2 spent on qualifying purchases made outside of Best Buy.  Those point will generally post to a member's account the same time every month.  Please feel free to send me a private message if you have made purchases outside of Best Buy using your MasterCard, but have not received points.  A private message can be sent by clicking on the blue button located within my signature.

    Since around fall of 2013, I've had to call a HOUND the phone lines just to get my non-Best Buy purchase points credited. ...
    In the latest SAGA, thier response was 832 points for EIGHT months worth on non Best Buy purchases when I literaly ran THOUSANDS through the card in that time span. ...  Say WHAT ?  They are having me EMAIL pictures of my statements becuase evidenataly they can't download PDF files? In response, I converted PDF to JPG & put a picture of EACH month in a SEPARATE email & sent it back to them, but I've seen another fellow get his issue handled quite qucikly by using this forum.  I have to wait weeks, or days just to get a half hearted email response.

    Can we help?  Well, that is a definite YES!  You should not have to spend your valuable time calling into us just to make sure that your points for non-Best Buy MasterCard purchases are added to your My Best Buy™ account, and it is my goal that you will not have to call into us in the future regarding your non-Best Buy MasterCard points, as they should post automatically.  Let me see what I can do to help. 
    After using the email address you registered with the forum to review your My Best Buy™ account, I can see exactly why your non-Best Buy MasterCard points have not been automatically posting.  It looks like you had two accounts merged about this time last year and the merge was not processed correctly, which resulted in the link between your MasterCard and My Best Buy™ accounts to be broken.  We are going to want to make sure they are properly linked so that future points for non-Best Buy MasterCard purchases post automatically.

  • How do I get Serial Number for Best Buy purchased PE12?  Which lift of label?  Neither work

    Instructions refer to peel of labels for to find Best Buy purchased full box PE12.  Which label, it has two and neither lifts off?

    I bought my PSE12+PRE12 bundle at Best Buy some months ago, and the Redemption Code sticker for mine was on a black card inside the inner box next to the installation DVDs with instructions to go to http://www.adobe.com/go/getserial and enter in the 24-character long code that is a random mixture of letters and numbers in 6 groups of 4.
    There is nothing to peel off on mine for the redemption code.  Packaging from a few years ago may have been that way but not recently.

  • Best Buy may no longer be my first choice

    My husband and I purchased a dishwasher about a week ago.  We were able to snag a deal on the delivery and installation for 19.99- or so I thought it was a deal.  I did receive a call, several actually, about the delivery time and date, which is for today.  After speaking with Geek Squad after my intial purchase, I was told I would receive a call yesterday to confirm my installation time for today.  I did not receive a call, so I called Geek Squad this morning.  After being placed on hold for over 15 minutes, I was told that my installation was cancelled for today because the installer was injured last night.  Optimum did not find out until after 9 p.m. last night, so that is the explanation they gave me for the no call.  I'm not sure why I wasn't notified first thing this morning.  I was then told by the Geek Squad rep that I would receive a call within 10 minutes to reschedule.  30 minutes later, no call.  I call back.  Put back on hold for another 30 mintues while Geek Squad reached out to Optimum.  Was told that they would not be able to install today (which is totally unacceptable), and that they could install June 5 (which is even more unacceptable).  My husband had to take off work today to be available for the delivery and installation today, now that the installation is not going to happen today, that requires an additional day off work with lost wages.  It is not my responsibilty to accomodate Optimum and their inability to meet deliverables.  I want to know how we will be compensated for loss time at work for Optimum (ultimately BEST BUY's) issue.  
    As of now, we still do not have a time for install.  I was told I would have to wait until up to 9 p.m. tonight to have an installation time.  How am I supposed to give adequate time to my employer to let them know I need to take a day off?  
    It is very disheartening that the inability for a company to take responsibility may sever my relationship as a consumer.  
    Extremely disappointing and going further I will definitely rethink purchasing through Best Buy.

    It is regretful to hear that the technician was injured so late the night before your appointment. I do hope that he is okay. That being said, it certainly should not be difficult to reschedule your appointment, and I am terribly sorry to hear that it seems to have caused such a hassle for you. Unfortunately, same day appointments when rescheduling are often not possible, but of course we do prefer to offer it should it be available.
    Using the information you registered with the forum, I was able to locate your dishwasher purchase and work order for the delivery and install. I’m happy to see that we were able to successfully deliver the dishwasher yesterday, as that was completed by our own agents. Due to the type of installations needed, sometimes we must use 3rd party entities to assist in the installation.
    That being said, I have reached out to our support team to research the issue with getting you rescheduled, as it appears this has yet to be completed. As soon as I have more information in regards to your appointment, I will make sure to reach out to you right away! In the meantime, your patience is greatly appreciated.   • Non apple store purchase?Still get RAM?

    If I buy an iMac at an electronics store,not an apple store, can i still go to the apple store to get an extra gig of RAM added? And if I purchase it somewhere else can i still get a free one hour workshop?
    Any extra advice for first time mac buyers would be helpful

    The store where you purchase the iMac should also be able to upgrade the ram, or sell you the modules to do it yourself.

  • Just bought a laptop in store, now trying to get a promo code from best buy

    I recently purchased a laptop in requirement with the new deal from microsoft offering a free xbox upon purchase of a PC of 699.99 or more. The guy in the store told me I needed to contact microsoft for the xbox, but microsoft says I need to get a promo code from best buy, help!

  • Best Buy, what is a loyal customer worth?

    I have never written this type of message before but I felt this to be important for Best Buy to read. I was in retail for 37 years. I started out stocking shelves and ended my career a Senior Director. What I experienced in the last 3 days over a cell phone purchase with Best Buy is certainly why businesses today are not truly worried about developing loyal customers.
    I was in the market for an i-phone 6 plus and went on line searching for any kind of deal on this phonefor Christmas. On Best Buy.com in bold print was the offer, "Receive a Free $150 Best Buy gift Card when you purchase any Verizon Smartphone with a NEW 2-year or Edge activation." I printed off this copy and went in to a store and asked about the promotion. I was told they had none of the phones, the deal was over on Friday so there was nothing they could do. I went to another store and got the same story. Feeling defeated I went home and got back on my computer and there was an e-mail from Best Buy saying I left this phone in my cart, are you still interested? I decided to call customer service and ask about the promotion and if I could get the phone. I got a guy named Ralph who said he was familiar with the promotion. They had phones to order on line and would help me all the way through. He did say that he was not sure if this meant just for new customers, but he said it does not say that so I will go through your purchase with you and make sure you get the gift card.
    He helped me all the way through and said at the end of the transaction was when they would get me the gift card. At the end, the gift card offer still did not come up and he said, "now I see in my notes you will receive an e-mail from us within 4 hours with a link for you to get the gift card." Well, that did not happen. I waited for Friday after Thanksgiving and called customer service. This person said you get the gift card when you activate the phone. Just take the phone to the store when it arrives, activate the phone and that is when you will get the gift card.
    My new phone came today and so I took it into Best Buy. I handed the associate my printed copy of the promotion and my phone and told him, I wanted to activate the phone, but only if I was going to receive the $150 Best Buy gift card. He proceeded to tell me that the promotion was last week but the "New 2-year activation" was only meant for new Verizon Customers. I asked him where it said that. He said "that is what it means" the Verizon person told us that. I again tried to tell him, I would be signing a "new 2-year activation" with the activation of the phone but I was already a Verizon Customer. He said that is an upgrade 2-year activation, not a new customer 2-year activation. I again pointed out that this distinction was not made in the add. He called his boss. His boss said the same thing that the add "meant" new customers. I said so it does not say that but I am supposed to know what it means. He told me this was a Verizon promotion and that is what they told him. So I asked if I could take this over to Verizon and would they honor it? His words" they won't, they are worse than we are."
    At this point I could not beieve my ears and I said I will just return the phone. This $150 Best Buy gift card, that would be used on your merchandise with your margins would maybe have cost you $75. I will probably not purchase anything at Best Buy for a long time unless I have to. My story will certainly be discussed at gatherings as we all talk about our Christmas shopping trials, good deals and bad experiences.  Best Buy, was it worth it? Do you even care? It sounds like you received conflicting information when you tried to take advantage of the promotion, and I sincerely apologize for any frustration, and disappointment this has caused. I also hope I can provide further clarification. 
    Per the terms and conditions of the promotion, which you can view in the link MMaier kindly provided, it states: "Valid only for customers NEW to Verizon." I'm very sorry if the agent that helped you when you called was not aware of this information. Using the e-mail you registered on the forum I was able to locate your information, and viewed that you have since returned the phone. Are you still interested in purchasing a new phone? Is there any way I could further assist you? We truly do appreciate our loyal customers, and I assure you I will also be documenting your comments for further employee training.

  • How long do points last when banking?

    I'm an elite plus memeber and I am interested in knowing if there is a cut off date for points? I have $90 worth of point saved up and I am planning on saving them hopefully for christmas was just wondering how long they last. I looked on the points section of the eliteplus membership page and I could not find anywhere where it stated. 
    I am not affiliated with Best Buy nor have I ever been employed by Best Buy. All of my thoughts and posts are of my own opinion and personal experience.

    I hope you are having a pleasant day so far.
    That is a really great question!  There really isn't a cutoff period when it comes to how long our Elite and Elite Plus members can BANK their points.  As long as a member with Elite or Elite Plus status requalifies by spending $1,500 (Elite) or $3,500 (Elite Plus) on eligible Best Buy purchases within a single calendar year, they should be able to continuously BANK their points and issue certificates when they decide.
    I looked over your My Best Buy™ account using the email address you registered with the forum and can see that you requalified for Elite Plus status during the 2014 calendar year, so your status will not expire until February 2016.  If you were to not requalify for Elite or Elite Plus status by 12/31/2015, then your status would be downgraded in February 2016 and any banked points would be converted into certificates down to the $5 level.

    Have you officially enrolled in the My Best Buy™ program?  If so, then I would strongly encourage you to read over the Program Terms just so you have a better understanding of how everything works.  I would also be more than happy to help answer any questions you may have about the program.
    As a new member, you can earn 1 point for every $1 spent on eligible Best Buy purchases; however, any purchases made before actually enrolling in the program would not be awarded points.  With that being said, your MacBook Air would not be eligible for points if you did not enroll in the program before or during the purchase.

  • Droid Pro "stop sale" at Best Buy

    All, apparently Best Buy received a "stop sale" notification from Verizon on the "Droid Pro" today.  This seems to point to a technical issue/problem with the phone, but I was wondering if anyone from Verizon can comment on why the Verizon system will not allow retailers to sell this phone right now?

    I preordered at best buy. Normally I wouldn't buy it for a while, best GCU is making things a bit more affordable. I hope this one doesn't disappoint. 15 was ok, but far from perfect. Improvements to the running game would be nice.
    This comes out in August so this should keep me busy until October for Halo 5.

  • It's 6-2 ordered iphone 5-24, I WORK during day, & Best Buy won't allow me to pick up at UPS?

    This is CRAZY.  I ordered a phone on May 24, to give as a gift on June 4; today is June 2. 
    The phone was shipped and the First Delivery Attempt was made last Thursday...I saw the form and figured like the OTHER carrier I could sign and leave the form and my phone would be left for me on Friday - WRONG.
    On Friday, I received attempt #2 of the delivery - with a note that after the 3rd attempt the phone would go back to Best Buy.
    So, on Friday night, I called UPS to setup a pick-up - this way I'd pick it up after work on Friday....NO GO because BEST BUY does NOT allow the option of allowing its shipping customers to PICK UP THE PACKAGE AT THE UPS OFFICE.
    Supposedly if I signed up for the UPS My Choice Program, I could use the "will call" option and pick up the phone..so i created a UPS My Choice account....only to see that i do NOT have the Ship to another address option OR the Pick up at UPS option.  I can only wait until the package is rejected by me a 3rd time - because I work during the day - and then it will be sent BACK to BEST BUY.  That helps a lot in having a phone here to give as a gift on June 4 - the day after tomorrow.
    UPS told me tonight that only Best Buy has the ability to lift the "no pick-up at UPS" stipulation, so I should call them.  After being told I'd be helped twice (and only being transferred into the waiting cue - for a total of 30 minutes), I finally got a girl who told me I just needed to go to the web site and sign up for UPS Mychoice (but THIS time, sign up for MyChoice on the BEST BUY website).  Then, I'd just click on will call and schedule the package to be picked up by me "anytime" i choose.  Sounds great, huh?  If only that option really existed, what a wonderful world it would be. 
    BEST BUY, why don't you tell your customers they MUST BE HOME or have a neighbor who is home during the day or their package will ultimately be UNTOUCHABLE until it is shipped back to Best Buy, only to be of absolutely no use to the purchaser.  Doesn't MOST of the world work and expect they can either sign a Signature Form and delay the delivery one day if they choose this approach OR pick it up at UPS AFTER WORK?  
    I asked tonight if the Best Buy rep could just tell UPS to send the pacakge back to the Best Buy and then transfer my order to a Store Pick-up so I could stop by the Best Buy Store tomorrow and get the iphone.  She said she'd gladly do a store order but I'd have to pay for the store pick-up and then my money would be refunded after they recieve my package back.
    And the very best part of all of this?  Verizon has had my info and been charging me since May 24 - when I ordered this.  So Best Buy gods..if you're reading this...I need an iPhone 5S - preferably the one I paid for on May 24 - and i need it by WEDNESDAY, June 4....and I"m willing to DRIVE my car to pick it up....just tell me where to go and I will....
    Tonight, UPS told me to call

    I can understand your frustration. I have elected for the option to pick up an item from a UPS location when missed upon delivery before; it is definitely a convenient option when working around a work schedule. I apologize that this option wasn’t available to you for your phone purchase.
    We do understand that people have to work and this is why we allow three opportunities for you to receive the product. I see that AWBrown has submitted an idea to ideaX page asking us to look into reevaluating this process. Using your email address you have supplied here on the forums, I was able to look up your order. Based on the tracking information, it appears that you successfully received the phone on 06/03/2014.
