NSCD Segfaults - Bug or incorrect configuration?

Hi, my NSCD is segfaulting a couple of times a day. The only record I have of it is:
LINODE2: 04-22-2010 09:35:01 [kernel] nscd[31604]: segfault at a ip b776bcdb sp ae91a9dc error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so[b76f8000+141000]
I don't know if it is possibly due to me configuring it incorrectly. Here is nscd.conf

Can someone take a look and tell me if I should file a bug report?

There is a bug report here: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/19157 .   So far I have not been able to figure out what is going on.   Given you appear to be using Linode, I doubt this is a suspend-to-ram issue that the bug report suggests.
Edit:  try

Thanks for the answer. It turns out though that the hosts cache is actually the only one that is important for me...

    Set up the HFM cluster on the FR Studio machine.
    1. Go to Start > All Programs > Hyperion >Financial Management >Server and Web Configuration
    2. Go to the Server/Cluster Registration tab.
    3. Enter the computer name of the HFM server used to get cluster information or the name of the single server if using a non-clustered environment. The HFM server needs to be referenced exactly as it is on the HFM server (hostname/IP/FQDN/clustername, as well as case-sensitivity for any letters).
    4. Apply and OK.
    5. Restart FR Studio.
    Note: if HFM client is not on the FR Studio box, it will need to be installed prior to set up of the HFM cluster as listed above.

  • Firefox sync error server incorrectly configured

    The very first time I loaded firefox on my laptop (which i bought only a couple months ago) the syncing worked just fine.
    After i dont know how much time i started getting errors that the syncing was failing. I tried to reconfigure the syncing properties but started getting the error server incorrectly configured. I scoured the net looking for answers following all the troubleshooting that I could find.
    One thing I notice is that when i choose I have an account it is supposed to load a key that i can use on my already synced devices but that never actually populates and it immediately kicks me to the user name password and sync key screen. This issue remained throughout the duration of all the troubleshooting below. Additionally I cant even create a new sync account on that pc as it fails everytime.
    I have done the following in a effort to resolve this issue.
    I created a new sync account using one of my other pcs
    I added a pc that was never on the sync account to it to verify it does it fact sync
    i uninstalled firefox 4 separate times deleting all the folders and even as far as the registry keys
    i tried using a lan connection vs wifi
    i updated windows
    My computer;
    I have a lenovo ideapad with windows 7 and 8 gigs of ram with a amd processor

    appears it is trying to check some cache or something and cant find it so it just gives up....
    please help I have spent countless hours trying to fix this.

    One addition note: in my own situation, I checked my about:config and saw my sync server's URL (https://scl2-sync42.services.mozilla.com/ ). I entered it into my address bar and got the following message:
    "server issue: database is not healthy"
    (quotes were included) I've seen no mention of such a phrase in a Google search, so I assume that no one else has reported any such thing.
    Going into my about:config, I deleted the URL and it synced just fine!

  • Installed sync on Firefox 3.6.8. I receive error message: Server Incorrectly Configured. How to fix it?

    I installed Sync on Windows XP Home Edition, Firefox 3.6.8, with Zone Alarm and AVG anti-virus. Sync is not updating, instead it produces error message: Server Incorrectly Configured and hangs up. How to fix it?

    You might want to also post on this Google Group dedicated to Sync (formerly known as Weave), since it's such a new add-on.
    http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla-labs-weave

  • "Cluster is incorrectly configured on the virtual server." re-add server

    Took a server out of a pool, then later went to re-add. /OVS/ mounts fine on the server, but when I go to VM Mangler, it throws the following errors:
    "OVM-1011 Oracle VM Server sonorx3 operation HA Check Prerequisite failed: failed: <Exception: ha_check_shared_storage_mount failed: <Exception: srv('sonorx3'). failed! => <Exception: Cluster is incorrectly configured on the virtual server.> ."
    In /var/log/ovs-agent/ovs_operation.log on the host that fails to join, I see:
    "StackTrace:
    File "/opt/ovs-agent-2.2/OVSXHA.py", line 99, in check_shared_storage_mount
    raise Exception("Cluster is incorrectly configured on the virtual server.")"
    What step is missing here?

    I've tried re-doing ovs-makerepo.
    Google doesn't know anything about the problem (other than this thread here, which it has already indexed).
    What gives?

  • Why will sync not synchronize my information between devices after saying that the server was incorrectly configured and then saying that my password was incorrect?

    I've recently started having this issue within the last few days. I started getting error messages saying that the sync server was incorrectly configured.
    So I reset my sync data and then attempted to re-establish connectivity between my devices. Sync is now saying that my password is incorrect. I've reset my password twice and after each password reset I am getting the same error message saying that my password is incorrect. I should note that both times I double checked the password entry to rule out any fat-fingering lol.
    Does anybody have any other information about this? I am wondering if a reinstall of Firefox will be necessary...thanks for any help you can provide! (:

    It sounds like there are a couple things going on here.  First check if you have a successful install of SQL Server, then we'll figure out the connection issues.
    Can you launch SQL Server Configuration Manager and check for SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) if default instance or SQL Server (other name) if you've configured your instance as a named instance.  Once you find this, make sure the service is started.
    If not started, try to start it and see if it throws an error.  If you get an error, post the error message your hitting.  If the service starts, you can then launch SSMS and try to connect.  If you have a default instance, you can use the machine
    name in the connection dialog.  Ex:  "COWBOYS" where Cowboys is the machine name.  However, if you named the SQL Server instance during install, you'll need to connect using the machine\instance format.  Ex:  COWBOYS\Romo (where Romo
    is the instance name you set during install).
    You can also look at the summary.txt file in the SQL Server setup error logs to see what happened on the most recent install.  Past install history is archived in the log folder if you need to dig those up to help troubleshoot, but the most
    recent one may help get to the bottom of it if there is an issue with setup detecting a prior instance that needs to be repaired.

    I have  tried many,many times to download elements 12 but have had no luck so far. I have even had help from an expert . However, when I get  to the final screen it states that my computer is incorrectly configured! Where do I go to from here?

    Hi Mike,
    Please confirm what operating system you are using.
    Exact error meesage you are getting? Screenshot of the error message would be good.

  • Bug or wrong configuration of the Sun Ray Server+DTU+17" and 24" screenres.

    I have 2 DTU, one has a 17" screen with a resolution of 1280x1024 and the other DTU has a 24" screen with a 1900x1200 resolution attached. The setting of the Sun Ray server is configured only that registrated cards, can make an kiosksession to VMware View 4.6.
    When I start the DTU's, there is nothing wrong. The correct screen resolution is displayed on the screen for both DTU's. When I put a smart card into the DTU that has a 17" attached, it's indicates the correct resolution. The problem starts when I hotdesk to the other DTU with the 24" attached to, the session what was builded on the 17" will be showed on the 24". So the the resolution is 1280x1024. With this action there's nothing wrong, because the kiosksession is made on the 17" and no disconnection is made, so this is a correct resolution at this point. When I pull the card out of the 24" DTU, the screenresolution will be still at 1280x1024. It's looks like the setting will be saved on the DTU. Only a restart of a DTU will turn back the good resolution.
    When I do the same as the case before, but only I start at the DTU with 24" screen the kiosksession will start at 1900x1200. When I hotdesk to the Other DTU the kiosksession is still at 1900x1200, but only this time when I pull out the card out of the 17" DTU, The DTU will give the right screen resolution of 1280x1024
    the DTU's are Sun Ray 3 Plus, it doesn't matter which DTU's I place, the problems seems like that the DTU will save the last screen resolution. I got 300 of these DTU's and try a lot of them, but still the same issue.
    Note: with each case explained in this thread, the kiosksession will be started at first time, the kiosksession is not builded yet or has been disconnected.
    This behaviour is with a standard installation and configuration of Sun Ray server software 5.1.2. No extra script is implemented. Also I tried the UTRESIZE script that I've found on this forum, but it didn't helped.
    Is this problem a bug (known issue) or is this a wrong configuration of me? This is a big issue for me

    I have also a lot of fun with different screens, so I walk the "hardwired" mostly when I run into my screen does not look like correctly.
    utresadm -a -c MAC -t default 1280x1024@60 ... and then this is nailed, whatever you do with this box. Very effective especially for beamers ...
    what you can set, utresdef is your friend, utresadm -p show all the devices overwritten in case you need to change for a new monitor. And finally utresadm -d -c MAC -t default clears the setting.
    regards, thomas

  • Filing Bug Reports in Configurator

    I spend a lot of time looking at the logging in Console that comes from this app, and I have a few uncaught exceptions and Crash Reports that I can recreate consistently.  Can I file bug reports with Apple?  Where do I file bug reports?  I have seen the Apple Bug Reporter, and there is no clear product type that matches Apple Configurator (iPad, iPad SDK, App Store, Other) and I am not sure if this is even seen as official.  Anyone does this before?

    Please do file bug reports using Apple Bug Reporter and they will be routed to the Configurator engineering team. Provide as much information as you can about the problem, what specific actions you take that cause it to occur, versions of all relevant software (Configurator, OS X, iOS, etc.), and anything else that seems relevant.

  • Bug: BasicComboBoxUI incorrectly does setSelectedIndex(0) on model change

    The case with bugId=4150466 "BasicComboBoxUI incorrectly does setSelectedIndex(0) on model change" seems to be closed and fixed. I'am using JDK1.3, and a version of BasicComboPopup is * @version 1.31 12/04/99, and the problem still exists, the bug is not fixed.
    So, the question is if the bug is fixed.
    Thanks alot!

    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae)
    // When the button is clicked, create a new model and set it.
    // would expect the selected item to change to the result
    // of getSelectedItem in the model (i.e. "Three"). Instead
    // it is always set to "One".
    m_combo.setModel(new MyModel());
    It's because BasicComboPopup$PropertyChangeHandler.propertyChange()allways calls JComboBox.setSelectedIndex(0), but in my case it should call setSelectedIndex(x);

    I posted exactly the fragment of the journal that shows the moment where cronie stoped to work normal. At the moment every cron job is causing the problem not a particular one and before everything was fine. The only thing that gives a hint that something might have changed is the *Reloaded configuration* message. I looked at the pacman log and recognized that I did an update of the following packages:
    [2015-02-09 15:52] [ALPM] upgraded mpd (0.19.8-1 -> 0.19.9-1)
    [2015-02-09 15:52] [ALPM] upgraded net-snmp (5.7.2.1-3 -> 5.7.3-1)
    [2015-02-09 15:52] [ALPM] upgraded nodejs (0.10.36-2 -> 0.10.36-3)
    [2015-02-09 15:52] [ALPM] upgraded patch (2.7.3-1 -> 2.7.4-1)
    [2015-02-09 15:52] [ALPM] upgraded python-lxml (3.4.1-1 -> 3.4.2-1)
    [2015-02-09 15:52] [ALPM] upgraded python2-ecdsa (0.11-2 -> 0.13-1)
    [2015-02-09 15:52] [ALPM] upgraded python2-keyring (4.1.1-1 -> 5.0-1)
    [2015-02-09 15:52] [ALPM] upgraded udisks2 (2.1.3-1 -> 2.1.4-1)
    [2015-02-09 15:52] [ALPM] upgraded youtube-dl (2015.02.03-1 -> 2015.02.06-1)
    But I can not sea how these should be related.
    Basically I don't even understand what's the problem here to continue to search for solutions.

    For me this means restarting a lot of machines when updating; glibc is the only package where updates are so invasive.
    Is there some reading material availble somewhere on why this is and if it could possibly be avoided?

  • Major bug or incorrect setting? "intersect" gone completely wrong

    Hi all,
    I’m having massive issues with Illustrator CS5’s auto-alignment of shapes via the “smart guides” tool – and even when this functionality is turned off. It’s easier to see the problem when “smart guides” are turned on, however.
    So what’s the issue? Well, you know when you want the centre point of two shapes, say Shape A and Shape B (both of which are non-identical), to “intersect”? You drag Shape B to the desired side of Shape A until the helpful green “intersect” confirmation appears. Great. But when I release the shape by lifting my finger from the mouse, Illustrator ALWAYS moves the shape one pixel – just one – either up, down, left or right of the intersection, depending on which side of the shapes I want the intersection to occur.
    It’s maddening, and completely throws everything off. Yes, one pixel off is enough to ruin the whole graphic. Without a doubt. Especially when you're using the "shape builder tool" to merge shapes for specific results. I just want the things to intersect correctly and not continuously move off by one pixel; it’s really wasting time. Even moving the path points with the “direct selection” tool is a non-runner: they, too, refuse to snap into place where I tell them to, always moving one pixel off from the position I want them to settle in.
    Ok, I definitely haven’t noticed this issue before. And it can’t be a feature – who’d want this to be happening??? But what could possibly be the issue? I’ve updated Illustrator to the newest version – still no change. One pixel off, always.
    A final note: whenever an exact replica of a shape is created, it intersects perfectly with its clone. All other shapes, however, fall victim to the one-pixel-off bug.
    If this is too baffling, should I uninstall and reinstall Illustrator? And, if so, how could I go about doing that?
    Any help GREATLY appreciated at this stage...
    - C

    Excellent! Well done, all – very knowledge indeed. I’ll certainly remember this little detail in future...
    Still, there chould be some possible warning re: this on the “create new doc for web” panel on start up. I checked the “align to pixel grid” by default cos, well, wasn’t I told it was all the rage? But seems like it’s not everything it’s cracked up to be after all, is it?
    Anyway, well done again. Problem solved!
    Cheers,
    C
