Numbers Expression translated to Obj-C - Possible?

Question

The following formulas in Numbers I wish to translate into Obj-C. I can't figure it out....
> I need to declare the value of X=3, Y=1.5, and Z=99 (in Numbers: =IF(E8="X",3,E8), etc to declare Y & Z)
> Need to create an expression for the SUM of the LOWEST 2 numbers of 3 fields (each contains a true value of 1-25 or X,Y,Z with 3,1.5 or 99 values assigned) (in Numbers: =SUM(A12,B12,E12)-MAX(A12,B12,E12))
I imagine it must be possible. Thank you.

Here's a copy of the errors and coding I am using. 
Is it a matter of needing a field assigned (totalLabel.txt) to have the data be able to appear? Is it possible to synthesize a string with the integers used in a calculation? What am I doing wrong here?
