NWA or User Management doesn't start

Hello, All !!
I have recently installed a NW 7.0 system. Details listed below:
System: SAP SRM 5.0 SR3
Stacks: ABAP+JAVA - single install
Platform: HP-UX (64-bit)
Database: Oracle
Issue / Problem that's on hand
I am not able to bring up User Management or NWA from the URL:
<http>://<AS_Java_hostname>:<AS_Java_HTTP_port>/nwa
<http>://<AS_Java_hostname>:<AS_Java_HTTP_port>/useradmin
User ID: J2EE_ADMIN
Password: Installation Master Password
Once I enter these details and click on login button, I get back the same blank login screen. If I enter incorrect password, then I get an error: "User Authentication failed".
When I log on to AS ABAP, I see the following users defined:
J2EE_ADMIN
J2EE_GUEST
SAPJSF.
In the config tool, the guest user is specified as J2EE_GUEST (property ume.login.guest_user.uniqueids).

Hope everyone's doing fine. I have been bothering a few on the team with my questions and have been receiving prompt reply. And here's yet another question I need some advise on.

Eventually, I want to change the client in AS JAVA to point to production client and not client 001. But right now, I am not even able to bring up NWA or User Management. But I can bring up "System Information" - logging in as J2EE_ADMIN user.
Please let me what needs to be done to correct this problem.

Hi,
Login into your 001 client and check whether your j2ee_admin or j2ee_guest are locked? If yes then unlock them and try again.
Also if you want to change the password then make sure you update the pasword in the secure storage area of web as java through configtool.

I've tried to follow the wiki's systemd/cron functionality article to have a systemd service to run hourly.
Everything seems to be working ok, except that the hourly timer doesn't start automatically : I have to issue a
systemctl --user timer-hourly.timer start
command every time I start the machine to get the timer running.
Can you help me understand what I'm missing to get the (user) timer to start automatically after boot?

test_service.py is a simple python script that appends the current time to a file, to check if the service is being run by the timer. (it is after I start the timer after boot, and runs correctly every hour)
db_backup.sh is a script that dumps a database into a text file in a mercurial repository, commits the change and pushes it to backup locations.

Enterpirse manager doesn't start

Hi all
When I try to start the Enterprise manager through the "start \ run \ emctl start dbconsole" option nothing happens.
For a brief moment a dosbox appears, and that's it.
Am I missing part of the installation or is there something else I need to look into?

In the link you have added is mentioned that in directory $ORACLE_HOME\... I can find the portnumber
I have searched all directories for this dir but can't find it. I have also looked for the dirs oracle_ base and Oracle_sid, but they are also absent.
Does this mean I have an incomplete installation or am I just missing the skills to work with Oracle?

Job Manager doesn't start

I installed Oracle BI EE 10.1.3.2 and used Job Manager to configure the Scheduler for Delivers. I had no problem with that, but later I tried to change the configuration and the Job Manager wouldn't start. When it's executed it just does nothing.
I couldn't find any logs that said what the problem is, and I don't know in which archives it stores the configuration. Does anyone knows about this files or have any idea what the problem may be?

LMS 3.2 Deamon manager doesn't start

Oracle Process Manager doesn't start anymore - orageneric11.dll

Hi,
we have an OPMN installed as standalone for containing Oracle Data Integrator 11 agent. All was fine until a technical maintenance that reinstalled the antivirus and some other stuff.
Now when i try to start OPMN service it fails and in the event log i see a "orageneric11.dll no found, try reinstalling the software".
Have you got any idea about what happened?

User Management problem after upgrade of SAP DB/Database Studio

Hi,
after upgrading SAP DB to 7.8.02.21 and Database Studio to the same version (this is on Windows 7 64 bit professional) I experience that starting DB Studio as a normal user fails with a message regarding not being able to execute (?) User Management. To start the program I have to run it as administrator. Once I do this it will, afterwards, work fine for a normal user, too, but only for one day (or possibly one logon to Windows 7).
(The error message does not even contain a hint to that solution)
In previous versions it was necessary to run DB Studio once (after installation) as an adminstrator. After that it would work all the same for normal users.
Is there a way to fix this? The desired behaviour being the one from previous versions that after one administrator run it can be started by my normal Windows user? It's, of course, not serious and I do know a workaround, but it's a bit annoying nonetheless.
(And yes, I do know that Windows 7 is not an officially supported platform. I'm just shyly asking).

due to the changes in the security concept in Windows 7 it's now required to be admin when you want to start or stop a service or to create 'global objects' like the shared memory files that are used to communicate between DBM-client, server and database kernel.
Since the user management of MaxDB Studio actually is just a small MaxDB instance, the service for this must be running.
To start the service and to create the shared memory the admin privilege is necessary on Windows 7.
What you may do is to flag the dbstudio.exe as "execute as administrator" - that will give you a pop-up warning every time you run the program but it will work.
I assume that is the workaround that you're already using and it's the one I use as well.
AFAIK the colleagues in Berlin are working on a version that doesn't require a MaxDB instance for local user management - that should remove this kind of problem as well.

Where are these interfaces and methods documented? I searched help.sap.com for "User Management Service" but am not able to find the javadoc API documentation.

The requirements driving Starter Edition's feature set are as they pertain to the enterprise as a private cloud deployment. Given this environment, the two primary deployment scenarios SE addresses are 1) no external user account data source (no directory integration), 2) external data source integration using one of the three types of directory servers supported by Cloud Portal. Scenario 2 two supports user authentication only and user authentication and authorization.
Scenario 1 supports user and organization management using Cloud Portal as the data source. Scenario 2 supports a pre-populated data source under the premise that enterprises most commonly have a existing directory services they desire to integrate with the solution, which is to say that an uncommon and not natively supported scenario is one in which the enterprise has no existing user account data source, but has idle directory services they would like for the solution to populate with new user accounts created through he solution. Certainly, such a scenario may be supported by extending the solution.

Node manager service not starting

I am doing a uccx setup with cucm in VM ware.
I am not able to open the appadmin page and when i triy to do so the node manger service get stopped .
from the mvir loggs in "c:\program files\wfavvid\logs\mivr " i cann't see anything.
what can be the possibility for this.

You're not providing much to work with here.
What version of UCCX are you working with? What version of Callmanager? Have you confirmed that your services are running on CallManager (like the callmanager service, CTI Manager, AXL service, etc.)? Those services sometimes don't start properly if your VM's are on underpowered hosts. Check them.
If the node manager doesn't start, usually, it tries to reboot the UCCX server. Is that happening? What errors are you seeing in the event logs? Are your services working and processing scripts?
Is this a new install, or was it working and just broke?
Tell us more. We can't see what's going on over there.

User Management Service Item in Cisco Portal

Hello,
I am right now using the CIAC portal to perform simple tasks on my infrastructure and I would like to be able to add a user to a given group in AD.
I have done the TEO process (with group and user parameters) and it works.
I have done the service request (with the form, the fields, the category, etc.) and I can fill it.
But I cannot figure out how to integrate these both elements through service link, with an agent and adapters.
Does somebody knows how to do it? Or where I can find some step by step information to do it?

Firefox doesn't start

tried re-installing

tried creating new profile, profile manager doesn't start
uses 50k memory and 50% of CPU power

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

Print Manager not automatically starting in OES11

I have had to recreate the print manager with a different name. Now when I restart the server the print manager doesn't start up automatically. Is there a file I need to edit to get this to start. We are using OES11SP1.
I can manually start the print manager fine in imanager.

Remote Update Manager on Yosemite doesn't start

Yesterday i installed the firefox 6.0 on my windows 7 computer. When i double-click the mozilla icon, it doesn't start. I opened the task manager and noted that the process "firefox.exe" appears and desappear after 5 seconds. I tried to start mozilla in safe mode but the problem remains. The only way to use mozilla in my computer is restarting the windows in safe-mode. Last thing: i already tried to reinstall the program. Please help me!
