NWBC for ECC 6 EHP6 IDES

Hi Experts,
I have installed IDES ECC 6 EHP6, to learn MDG, do i have to install NWBC separately or to activate from ERP? Please guide me

Did you activate the NWBC service? Check in transaction SICF.

  • How to install the ADS for ECC 6.0?

    Hello All,
    I have few questions before I can start with my problem
    1) Is the ADS a part of the WAS for ECC 6.0 ?
    2) Is any Ehp available for installing the ADS separately?
    My requirement is to have a PDF application run in ECC 6.0 . I have no idea about the architecture like weather it includes the ADS as we have for Java WAS 6.0 SP 14.
    What my team is doing is deploying the application in the Java WAS currently. But they need to deploy it to the same server i.e. ECC 6.0.
    I would like to know what is the process to install the ADS in ECC 6.0. And if it is already installed then how to configure that.

    Hi Dipendra,
                         For running the Adobe application You need to configure some thing in both Java as well as in ABAP stack for that abobe form application to work. You need to do some configuration in the Visual administrator for Java & also in the ABAP stack sidi using your SAP user id line creating ADSUSER , ADS_AGENT    user id creation and roles assignment and RFC destination creation etc..          
    Just refer these documents for the installation and post-configuration of Adobe Document Service on NW2004s.

  • Best upgrade path for ECC 6.0

    Hello,
    We've been stuck on the base ECC 6.0 release for quite a while.  There hasn't been management support for the time/resources necessary to implement and test any upgrades.  We also have a lot of local modifications to SAP supplied programs that we're planning on phasing out so that we keep closer to standard.  This is one of the main reasons we haven't been able to upgrade because of the effort involved in changing processes back to standard.  There was also an unwillingness on specific parts of the user base to change their processes.   We're now in a position where business and reporting requirements are going to force a system upgrade.  We also need run a unicode conversion from non-unicode at the same time.
    As we're starting the planning process we're unsure of the best path to allow us to implement future upgrades as necessary.  I see that EHP 7 runs on a basis version of Netweaver 7.40.  Is upgrading to an EHP pack for ECC 6 better than upgrading directly to 7.4?  Can the unicode conversion be done at the same time?
    I looked over previous discussions in upgrades but haven't found something that seems to match what we're looking to do.

    As you have an ECC 6.0 system then you need to do an EHP update on the system.
    The latest is EHP7. EHP 7 is based on SAP NetWeaver 7.4 so when you update the system to EHP 7 you will be on NetWeaver 7.4
    The most important thing here is that you need to have a supported OS and DB for EHP7 installation. From EHP6 there is a need to have a higher version of OS and DB.
    Check PAM for the supported OS and DB combination.

    Regarding Unicode conversion you may read this.

  • BI 7.0 and ECC 6 IDES

    We have connected the BI 7.0 and in the source system defined a new  ECC IDES system as the source and replicated .
    But when the Extraction is done , no IDOCS are generated to the IDES ECC system no errors.
    By the way the ECC 6 IDES has BI content activated for client 800.
    Is that the issue , can we deactivate the BI content in IDES ecc so it can work as source for extraction to BI.

    let me ask it some other way .
    1. ecc 6.0 with bi enabled , connected to bi 7.0 system does this work ?

    - Attribute CT_PROC_TY of the structure is well;

    You want to transfer the contract to ECC?
    Please check the ECC and SRM both sides of the scope of the contract number.

  • EEWB BUPA - relevance for ECC

    I try to enhance BP in CRM 5.0 with EEWB. These fields should be also generated in ECC 6.0.
    EEWC customizing is correctly. Enhancements for Business Transaction works fine.
    When I generate the extension via wizard in CRM everything is ok, I have only a flag for BW relevance, but not for R/3.
    Any idea?

    You need to maintain the settings for the logical systems for ECC (and similarly for Mobile), if you want to generate fields in the connected systems. Note 649336 and following is describing what settings you need to make in order to have the boxes displayed.

    for ECC 6.0(with  bi,pi,ep) requires > 2gb ram 320 gb harddisk

    When i am trying to import BI CONT 353 installation packages i am getting the following error:

    Reason for error:TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM

    while installing BI_CONT, execute all 4 steps sequentially. You can do this by changing the start condition to start manually..
    Also check the error log, to find out at what point it got stuck

    SAP ERP is the application in which ECC is one of the installable unit of. ECC means ERP Central Components. It is basically what was included in the SAP R/3 4.7 with additional new functionality.
    - ECC 5.0 is part of SAP ERP 2004
    - ECC 6.0 is part of SAP ERP 6.0 (previously called 2005)

    IDES is the name given to a learning systems provided by SAP. It means "International Demo and Education System". These systems include sample data, configurations and step-by-step guides for learning and demoing to business users.     IDES applications are available for customers who have the applicable application license (SAP ERP customer can order SAP ERP IDES free of charge).

    You can install most SAP applications on a super-sized PC if you down-tune the applications. As you mention Material Management (MM) the best option is probably to get your company to order and install SAP ERP IDES for you to learn on. Install of SAP applications requires a lot of SAP technical knowledge.

  • Transfer rules are not exist for ECC Quality source system in BI Dev

    I Connected BI Dev system To ECC Dev and installed the sales, purchasing,... data flow, but here i am not getting the quality data to show the reports, to get Quality data  I established the connection between BI Dev and ECC QA, while installing the transfer rules for the ECC QA data sources there no transfer rules are exist(only some of them exist) in the business content, but all the update rules,... are exist, when i right on the data source say create transfer rules it is proposing App praposal.
    When i select source system as ECC dev while installing the transfer rules i can see all the transfer rules, but when i select source system as ECC QA i can see only some transfer rules.
    only problem with transfer rules(some of them exist), for remaining all objects are properly existing in business content for ECC QA source system.

    Thanks for the quick reply. We are not moving the stuff to QA. We are only connecting QA ECC system to BI Dev. We already have datasources moved to ECC QA and created source system for ECC QA in BI Dev.
    The problem is I am not able to get Business Content transful rule for new source system. We I can find some but not all unlike development.
    Help on this would be appreciated.

    We are working on ECC6 EHP 5 and this requirement is for Taiwan.
    I have found the SAP Note; 376018, however this is valid for 4.6c ONLY.
    Could you please check and advise is this note is valid for ECC 6 as well. Or do we need to apply any other notes.
    Or any other suggestions.
