OBIEE - Spatial maps -restricting counties based on state.
Hi,
We are using OBIEE - map views which is utilizing oracle spatial 'mvdemo'. we notice that USA there are many counties with the same name across states such as 'Orange', which is present in around 5 states.
We are unable to restrict these counties appearing on map based on the selected state.
Steps followed:
- We have added two layers for state and county -THEME_DEMO_STATES and THEME_DEMO_COUNTIES in 'Manage Map Data' tab on OBIEE.
- BI data has been added to both the layers using 'Key Layers'
- We populated state level information on map.
- As we drill down from state level to county level, we observe that all the counties with the same name across the country appear with the same data irrespective of which state they belong to.
It would be great if some one can suggest how to over come this issue. Thanks in advance.

We are working on OBIEE 11g. We have created a new column in Spatial Database - 'MVDEMO' in the backend. we are unable to get the column to appear in the LOV of ' Manage Map Data ->Edit Layer -> BI Associations -> Key Layer'. We have tried restarting the BI Server but this did not help.
It would help us if anybody could help us resolve this issue as soon as possible.

OBIEE SSO enabling and role based reporting

I had installed SOA10.1.3.1.0 and OBIEE10.1.3.4.0 already on my WINDOWS. I understand that I need to install 10.1.4 infrastructure to enable SSO in OBIEE, can you please tell me what is 10.1.4 infrastructure? is it equivelent to Oracle Identity Management Infrastructure and Oracle Identity Federation 10.1.4? I tried to download this from OTN since last night, but the page is always unaccessible. Where can I download 10.1.4 infrastructure except otn?
I have another question regarding to the role based reporting with SSO. We want users to see different reports based on their roles once they login. What options do we have to implement this? From my understanding, we need to maintain a user role mapping table in our database, create groups in OBIEE and map the user role with the group in OBIEE? Is it true? Are there other options? Is there a existing product we can use to implement this?

Script to map default printer based on user input
Hello everyone,
Complete scripting noob here but I managed to cludge together a vb script (from various sources) that will remove all current printers and then add printers based on group membership. It can also add a default printer and if they have a local printer
make that default. All that works just fine, my problem is that we have very large floors with many printer clusters. Group membership for printers is by floor and I do not have the option to further define this (Also GPO is not an option as getting
our network group to deploy anything takes years so we need to go this route).
What I would need is something graphical (like an HTA) that when run it prompts the user to input which floor they are on, then it asks them which of the print clusters (on the floor they specified) is closest to them. It would then install all the
printers on the floor and make the default printer one from the print cluster they indicated (unless they have a local printer). I hope this make sense.
I think I have most of the pieces laid out but I don't know how to get the user prompts/GUI and then perform the correct mappings. Thank you in advanced!I agree with Bill. Using the correct method will be best. You network people will be more than happy to tell you what is set up and how to use it. You just need to ask your manager to get you in contact with them for a little parley.
If you are really insisting on a script then look in the repository. There are dozens of scripts that you can use and modify.
You should try to see this as a challenge to bring modern technology to your company. Approaching this kind of thing as a global IT challenge will usually get the attention of IT and they will usually take it seriously. You will likely learn

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear but I'm not asking anyone to write the script for me, as I said I have most of the parts working. My issue is getting the user input and getting the script to take the action I need it to (I can map the printers based on
AD group membership I really just need to prompt the user to select which one they want as default). My thoughts were to wrap a GUI around it but it's not needed.
I agree that GPO is the way to go but in State Government it takes an act of Congress to get anything done in the mean time I'm trying to get things done with the means available to me. -

For the Tcode PC00_M40_F24Q when it is executed for the Quater 4, We are getting the below error when we are trying to validate the efile:
"T-FV-2133 For Form 24Q quarter Q4, SD is mandatory, so count of salary statement
records must be greater than 0 (zero)"
The steps followed are to select “Salary & tax details” and then select “download e-File”. The chalan details of Q4 have been maintained in the system through Challan mapping.
This error is coming for Q4 only and not for Q3. Initial investigation
Please help in resolving this.

How to restricting comepetncy based on grade

We have a requirement to restrict the comepetncy displayed after seraching by employees to those valid for its grade.
Navigation -
Employee Self-Service -> Competency Profile -> Add Comnpetency -> Find Competencies -> Search
Is there anyway to restrict this based on the grade of the employee.
If so, what kind of setup is required in the Competency KFF?
I tried defining a DFF segment for competency and attaching a grade to the segment. So each cometency will hold the grade for which it is valid ( assuming a 1-1 mapping between each grade and competency )
And then I tried to restrict the result of the query by using OA framework and adding a where clause to the View Object dynamically. But it doesn't work.
i will post the OA Framework part of my post in OA Framework forum, but in general is there a way to achieve this requirement.

-DebYou've pretty much done what I would have tried first (except I am no good at OAF so would have asked a technical buddy).
There is no way to link Competences to grade.
Depending on how many grades you have, you might like to define one Competence Type, each type mapping onto each grade, and then associate the competencies to the type. I believe Types can then share some common competencies if there is crossover. Types will be easier to write SQL off of but you'd still have to customise your VO. It also makes it really easy for employees to search for the correct one.
By the way, storing the grade on the competence keyflex effectively makes it part of the competence name which may start to look clunky in self service. I'd consider sticking the grade on the Competence flexfield which will also make your SQL easier to write as well as streamlining your competence name (I find querying on keyflex segments a bit of a chore).
Last resort is you could simply code some PL/SQL in a user hook to error if the employee tries to add a competence that is not appropriate for their grade. -

Pl suggest the possible solution for below case
I have a counter based preventive maintenance Plan of 100km, 200km,..... with op1,op2,..... respectively.
Now I have done maintenance for 600 km and going to enter another reading in IK11.
Here, system is giving error
Counter reading in doc. 251591 larger than in subsequent doc. 251585
Message no. IR171
Diagnosis
No counter overflow reading has been defined for the measuring point, and the counter reading that you have entered is larger than the one in the subsequent measurement document.
This is not allowed, since the counter is not marked as running backwards.
System Response
Processing will not be continued.
Procedure
Check your entries and the counter data of the measuring point.

DarrenBut I am getting this alert from SCOM and SCOM has no information about the alert for me to find out what to do - thought that was the point of SCOM to let you know of problems and how to resolve them. :)
The alert is coming from the Error Count Monitor that is part of the Hyper-V Management Pack Extensions (v 4.0.0.0)
I have tried looking in the Event Logs on the Host and there doesn't seem to be any storage related errors there. I am trying to establish if this is a false positive, why it is happening and if it is safe to override and ignore.
There is nothing on the Product Knowledge tab and nothing on the Alert Context other than what I have already mentioned (see below).

Mapping an account based on a column in source file.
I need to map an account based on the value of a different column. It is not used in FM so I don’t think I can use the varvalue function. So in this case based on store 1000 and account 1103-000 I need to map to 22222. For combination store 20000 and account 1203-000 I need to map to 33333. I can’t use concatenate in my import format because the mapping table would need to be huge to accommodate all possible combinations of account and store. Any ideas?

You could have this mapped to a Custom 4 in HFM, or an available custom in Essbase depending on your application and utilize conditional map scripts (Look up VarValues in the Admin guide) if there is not a large number of accounts.

column. Like if a risk is created on 02/02/2015 and closes on 03/03/2015 and an another risk is created on 17/02/2015 and closes on 14/03/2015. Then the count of the risk from 02/02/2015 to 16/02/2015 is 1 and from 17/02/2015 to 03/03/2015 is 2 and
then again till 14/03/2015 is 1. I want to retrieve the count based on the dates rendered dynamically on X-axis that is from current date back to past 24 days. I tried to create two datasets with one storing the risks after being queried based on creation
date and closure date and retrieving the count from Graph Y values but it is returning me count 0.

the sql stement is grouped by city and it is joined with 5 more tables.

Counter based warranty determination
Hi Experts,
My requirement is warranty should be determined when equipment reading is less than u201C10u201D and when counter reading exceeds 10 warranty should not be determined.
I have created new counter. Counter category-equipment, counter type-forward counter, counter unit-HR(hours),minimum value-1,maximum value-20,overflow value-21
I have created counter dependent warranty. Warranty type-customer warranty, warranty basis-counter dependent, counter attribute-equipment running hours, counter attribute value-10(warranty is applicable till counter value is less than 10) and counter unit-HR(hours).
Then I have assigned new counter and warranty to install base object.
*When I create service order and enter this install base object reference object, warranty(counter based) is getting determined. Then if I enter counter reading greater than u201C10u201D,still warranty is shown being determined(it should not be determined because counter reading is more than u201C10u201D
Request experts opinion on this. What settings need to be done so that counter based warranty is determined till counter value does not exceeds u201C10u201D.

As you said..there is no specific reason for not downloading material and serial number from ECC. We can download these combination as Installed base.
My concerns are
The installed base coming from ECC is not carrying Warranty information, and as per out client it is not impossible to assing warranty to each installed base and IOobject manually. it has to be automated.
secondly, installed based is getting created after outbound delivery in ECC and replicating to CRM. But as per client process, warranty only starts after Invoice document created in ECC system. Then how to capture invoice creation date details in warranty and how to assign it to respective installed base / IO object automatically.
In SAP CRM where can we see the downloaded Ibase and IO Objects? What is the difference between these two?
I hope you have understood the requirment. Please help me that how to resolve this issue.
