OC4J and BC4J Runtime installation for Solaris (Unix)!

We have successfully installed, configured and deployed JSP/BC4J apps using OC4J and BC4J on Windows NT/2000. However, our production environment is Solaris.
We have installed OC4J on Solaris, with some difficulties. How/where is the installation process for the BC4J Runtime Installation? The download (bc4j-ojsp.zip) for this utility is Windows only.
Is there a method or process to install BC4J Runtime on Unix? If not, we are stuck.
We cannot use JServ (servlet limitations) and refuse to use OSE (to many issues).
Any guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated...

Stephan,
I have located multiple "connections" files and will remove all but the default located in the OC4J classes directory. We have been developing with JDeveloper and it often created multiple connections files that appear when you "jar" project components.
We also installed JDK1.2.2_008 and are using this. However, when I use the classpath method of starting OC4J, I receive numerous errors. Using the jar method, everything works, with the exception of BC4J apps. I'll have to look into the errors more.
Thanks for the response. At least I know one other person (organization) is using this successfully. I hope to join the "success" crowd tomorrow!
Thanks again...
Dean

  • Wu-ftpd installable for solaris 10 and solaris 9

    Hi,
I could see only "proftpd" is available http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/freeware
But I am looking for the "wu-ftpd" server which is compatable with Solaris 9 and Solaris 10.
Any one help me from where I can get the "wu-ftpd" installable for solaris 9 and solaris 10 sparc server.
    thanks,
    Amudha

    Hi Robert,
    Thanks for your reply.
I too saw that the ftp version used in solaris 10 by default is wu-ftpd, but I am not sure about it, because when I tried to ftp to my solaris box the version it is started is not "FTP server (Version wu-2.6.2(5)".
I have got the wu-ftpd installable. But I could not get the proper document for configuring the same.
Question1: How to stop existing ftp service and start newly instlaled wu-ftpd in Solaris 9 and Solaris 10 servers?
Earlier solaris 8 version I change the ftpd version in /etc/inetd.conf file and give HUP signal to inetd then this new wu-ftpd version will be used.
Question 2: It always starts the system inbuilt ftp server and also I am getting ftp log in failure for any user which I add newly or even existing users.
could any one help to resolve these issues? Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Need Agent Installer for Solaris (SPARC)

    Hi All,
I have downloaded Grid Control Agent Installer for Solaris from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oem/htdocs/agentsoft.html.
When I tried to extract the zip file, I am getting the following error message.
"Can not open file. It does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again."
Even I tried using http://sac.us.oracle.com/download/index.html also but getting the same error.
Please send me the location if you have,
    Thanks
    Sumathi

Most commands are identical. Performance analysis, loading all are similar. Tape interaction, creation of tape devices is going to be pretty much the same.
The differences show up a lot at the hardware level. HBAs aren't usually the same, many drivers (and their quirks) are different between the architectures. If you're debugging connectivity to a tape library, those differences may be critical.
So you can't get as close as you may want, but I'll bet it would still be helpful.

  • Does Reports 9i comes with a runtime executable for Solaris?

Does anyone know if Oracle Reports 9i comes with a runtime executable for Solaris that I can just install and call to generate my reports without having to install Oracle 9iAS?

I dont think you will be able to run reports in Reports 9i without IAS R2. I was told by an Oracle employee that Reports 9i has been ready for some time but that it has not yet been released because it can not function without IAS R2.

  • What is latest Flash for Solaris/UNIX?

    Hello,
I am currently running Firefox2 on Solaris 9 (UNIX) operating
    system.
I have the following flash version installed:
    Flash Player 7 for Solaris
    Version 7.0.66.0
    September 2006
When going to certain websites, they tell me that I need
    "Flash 8".
I went to your download site and attempted to dowload "Flash
    9", but
the download appears to be the same that I have installed:
    install_flash_player_7_solaris_sparc.tar.gz
    Question:
Does Flash 8 or Flash 9 exist for Solaris/UNIX? If not, when
    would it
be available? I am looking for the free version as I only use
    it for
    personal use.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Installation for Solaris 10

Greetings all...I'm not sure where this is supposed to go so I figured I'll start here since I technically am new to java, hehe... New meaning new to the Solaris installation of Java, specifically in regards to downgrading the JDK/JRE from 1.5.0 (latest as of the 6/06 release of Solaris 10) to 1.4.2_12.
    More detail:
We have four T1000s and four T2000s, all with Solaris 10 6/06 installed. Apparently, the latest 1.5.0 release of java is installed and used by default (java -fullversion shows 1.5.0_06-b05). JRE 1.4.2_11 is also installed but since then, 1.4.2_12 has come out and the developers that are going to be on this machine absolutely demand 1.4.2_12.
For those familiar with Solaris and pkgadd/pkginfo/pkgrm, I'm looking to A: remove 1.4.2_11 and 1.5.0_06 and B: put in 1.4.2_12. I've done both the self-extracting .sh script as well as the packages but when I run that version of java, it comes back with the following error:
Error occurred during initialization of VM
    java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object
I've looked everywhere I can think of to fix this but I'm at a loss now. Anyone have any ideas? Not sure what PATH variable I'm supposed to have. Thanks in advance!

  • Creating Runtime Installer for VI with VISA Read VI

    Greetings Fellow Users,
Please let me know which 'ADDITIONAL INSTALLERS' the  LabView RunTime engine requires in order to run a VI that reads from the built-in serial port (COM 1) of a Windows XP PC.  For instance, I include LabView Run-Time engine 8.0.1 to creat an installer for the VI.  If I want to load and run this .exe on a PC that has no other NI software, do I need to include any of the following as 'ADDITIONAL INSTALLERS':
    ->NI-SERIAL 1.8?
    ->NI-VISA RUNTIME 3.4?
    ->NI-DAQmx 8.0?
What does the NI-VISA RUNTIME do anyways?  Also, when I do include some of these, I have to dig out my LanVIEW installations CDs and they are loaded from teh D:\.  What is the cleanest way to load these onto my HDD so that LabView will select these automatically.
    Thank you.

    ->NI-SERIAL 1.8?
This is the driver used for serial port controller boards and
interfaces from NI. You do not need that software when trying to access
built in serial ports or ports on interface cards from other
    manufactureres than NI.
    ->NI-VISA RUNTIME 3.4?
This is the software LabVIEW uses to talk to all kinds of IO interfaces
including serial ports. This is what you will need. Runtime means it is
a stripped down version without LabVIEW, C, VB, Delphi and whatever
    development bindings and examples etc.
    ->NI-DAQmx 8.0?
This is the software driver for NI data acquisition devices (analog IO, digital IO, counter , timers).
These are all to be considered drivers and (very maybe apart from
NI-VISA) it is usually not a very good idea to include drivers into the
application installer. If you use them your user is likely to have
bought his own kind of hardware and no matter if he happens to have
bougt the newest SuperPCI interface board with 256 ultra-high-speed
serial ports over wireless connections or an old standard PCI board
with 2 RS-232 interfaces they both will have come with a CD that is
appropriate for that device, whereas the NI-Serial driver you included
is only appropriate for NI serial boards that are still AND already
sold at the moment when that driver was released. The same applies for
    any other driver software.
NI_VISA being able to connect to standard built-in serial ports could
be considered different but it isn't really. I have included NI-VISA on
application installers in the past only to find out that the included
NI-VISA version did not run or not run reliably on newer machines with
new OS versions, so we had to point the customer to the NI site to
download the newest version anyhow, or even burn a new CD with updated
NI-VISA versions and express ship it.
Basically including any kind of driver software in the application
installer may seem like a good idea but will usually cause lots of
additional support after some time due to incompatibilities with newer
    OS versions, new hardware, etc.

  • Flash Player for Solaris - And J2SE 6.0 for Solaris

    Hello,
The current version of flash player for Solaris is 7.0.67.0. For Windows it is 9.0.45.0. What gives? Is Adobe just giving up on Solaris? Now, in Firefox and Mozilla for Solaris, imbedded videos on web pages such as www.nytimes.com will not display, apparently due to the ancient version of Flash for Solaris.
Also, does anyone know when and the new java runtime j2se 6.0 will be released as a patch for Solaris 10? The patches are 118666 and 118667.
    Thank you.....

From Adobe Lans web site above:
Adobe Labs is currently featuring prerelease versions of the Flash Player 9 Update software. This update includes enhancements and bug fixes for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux versions of Flash Player 9. Please see the release notes for more information regarding this prerelease technology. The prerelease program for Flash Player 9 for Solaris is closed at this time, and Solaris versions of Flash Player 9 will be available shortly from Adobe.com.

  • Java2 runtime environment for Solaris 2.5.1 ?

    Hi,
I need to run Java2 applications on Solaris 2.5.1
    (SunOS 5.5.1)
Can I install Java2 runtime environment on Solaris 2.5.1?
Which version of JRE should I have?
    Any advise will be appreciated.

According to Sun's Download Center, the latest JVM version supported on Solaris 2.5.1 is Java 1.2.2_06. If you use this, you'll need to make sure you have the absolute latest Solaris patches for 2.5.1 applied.

  • How to apply an Outlook 2013 Open license to a pre-installed Office Home and Business 2013 installation for Email Auto Archiving functionality

    We're deploying new Dell pc's.
Unfortunately we have a large existing install base of Office Home and Business in the field due to customers buying Office bundled on Dell machines.  Buying Open License Outlook licenses is more cost effective than upgrading to Office Pro Plus for all
these users and is our preferred path.  We aren’t sure how to apply these Open License Outlook licenses since the Home and Business installations work off a single license key for all the applications

    Hi,
Isn't the Office bundled on Dell machines already activated?
If it's the OEM version that has been installed on the machines and you want to use retail product keys to activate the Office, it's not possible. You will need to uninstall the OEM version and install the retail version.
You can check the OEM licensing system here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/OEM/en/licensing/productlicensing/Pages/office-2013-licensing-packaging.aspx
To find more help about OEM depolyment, I should recommend you to get contact with the OEM Reseller Support System

I've tried reintstalling about 3 times, changing order of operations, still get blue screen.

I have a brand new windows 7 installation disc, i have tried both 32 bit and 64.
boot camp that is in my OSX is 3.0.4 (322), but it does download the support software for windows which i save in a separete usb stick.
and I am doing the partition on a relatively new hard drive 500 gigs thats been partitioned.
    Any Ideas?
I've attached of a photo of the blue screen message.

Pull all the other hard drives?
Upgraded to Boot Camp 3.3 already?
Have an Apple software RAID on other drives - AppleHFS and AppleMNT to mount and read HFS volumes - is buggy
you didn't burn the DVD from ISO etc right?
Safe Boot and rename AppleHFS.sys and MNT to .sys.old
Install MacDrive instead to access HFS
Who what or how did you partition the drive? normally I would just use Windows 7 DVD and not use BCA or share the drive with OS X.
