Officejet pro 8630 printer software

the printer assistant or properties for the 8630 is lacking options tha tare including  inother hp's printer assistants and properties.. I am using Windows 8.1.
1. Missing: Looks whats printing option.  The only way I have found to open the print queue is to go to devices and printers and right click on the printer icon and choose See what's printing. I Isn't there an easier way?
2.  When I click Print, print options is displayed. When I click on on printer properties there is no chortcut to choose what tray to print from.
3.  2.  When I click Print, print options is displayed. When I click on on printer properties there is no option for paper size , ie envelopes or 8 x10 paper.
Am I missing something?  Can one of you geniuses please reply?  Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Community @Melonhead
I read your post about how you are not seeing all of the features that you used to see in previous versions of Solution Center. Although the software has changed depending on which printer you had owned previously, to ensure you have the full features available, download and run the installation for the Full Feature Driver below. You will see all of the options included in the printer software afterwards.

    HP Officejet Pro 8630 All-in-One
Trying to change settings for printing an email directly to the printer.
Email prints in color on separate pages, want black & white with two-sided.

    Hi @George1978,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that you would like to learn how to change the print settings when sending an email to print on your Officejet Pro 8630 printer.
To better assist you, would you please supply some additional information:
How are you sending the print job to the printer? Are you sending it from your computer and choosing Print, from one of HP’s mobile apps, are you forwarding the email to the printer’s ePrint email address, or another method?
What operating system are you using on the device you are using to send the print job? I have included wikiHow’s guide titled How to Figure out Your Mobile Operating System if you are using a mobile device. If you are using a computer, please click on http://whatsmyos.com/ as it will tell you what your operating system is.
How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)?
    Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8630 won't print from tray 2; says there's no paper

    Action: Print from tray 2.
Expected Results: Paper feeds from tray 2 and prints.
Actual Results: Printer displays "out of paper" dialog.
Notes: Ever since I purchased the Officejet Pro 8630 six or eight months ago, tray 2 has not functioned. It says there's no paper in that tray. I've tried multiple types of letter sized paper. I've inspected the bottom of the main printer unit and the top of tray 2 for signs of damage; there doesn't seem to be any.
Tray 1 works just fine. It's actually a fantastic printer. The best I've owned. If only Tray 2 would work.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8630

Today I purchased a Officejet Pro 8630 all-in-one printer. The issue I'm having is with different paper sizes, specifically legal and letter. When I try to copy a packet of documents that have papers that are legal size, it only prints on letter size paper which cuts it off. The packets are large, have to be in a specific order, and must be prepared for shipment next day. So spending time sorting papers by sizes and then copying takes up too much time. I have legal paper in tray 1 and letter in tray 2. Also have the default tray set to 2 as well.
    In short:
When it copies a legal sized page, I need it to actually print the whole page on legal size paper.
Is there a setting that tells the printer there is legal paper in tray 1, and to use it when a legal sized page is copied/scanned?

I am having the same issue and have the same settings. Tray 1 is set to Legal, Tray 2 is default and set to Letter.  I want the device to detect paper sizes (Excel, Word, PDF) and pull from the appropriate tray.
Printing, scanning, copying and fax all do not DETECT or PRINT on the proper paper size.
    1. PRINTING: Most documents I print are either PDF, Excel or Word files and are usually letter or legal sized.  I usually print using ePrint though sometimes I print from the application (Excel, Word, Adobe Reader). ePrint is why I purchased this printer but sending a document to an email address doesn't allow the printer to know what size paper to print on and thus all documents are printed from the default tray which is Tray 2 set to letter size.
1a - How can I set the printer to detect the paper size when printing from the computer,
and then to print from the proper tray?
1b - How can I send ePrints that detect the paper size and then print from the proper tray?
    2. SCANNING: It is important that when I Scan to a file on the computer (with the glass or the ADF), that the resulting file be the size of the scanned document. As of now, this does not happen automatically. I have to tell the software or the touch panel what size to scan.
2a - How can it be set to detect the correct size and save the file in the proper size?
    3. COPYING: This is the function that operates close e to what I need but I seldom copy so that doesn't help me much. I still have to tell the touch panel to copy legal sized or it will only copy up to letter sized even if the paper I am copying is legal sized.
3a - How can it be set to detect the correct copied paper size and print from the proper tray?
    4. FAXING:  Faxes that are sent are fine. Faxes received are printed from the tray I select. If I get different sized faxes (letter or legal), the printer does not detect the proper size and pull from the proper tray therefore it would always cut off the bottom of my legal sized faxes. To get around this, I set the Tray 1 for faxes which has legal sized paper. However this is not a good solution, it is a band aid because I don't want all my faxes on legal paper.
4a - How can it be set to detect the correct fax size and print from the proper tray?
Can you please tell me what to do for these concerns?

  • HP Officejet Pro L7590 Printer - HP Solution Center does not work

I am not able to get the Solution Center suite to work because the installation has an error.  I am using Windows 7 Home Premium.  The printer I am installing is the HP Officejet Pro L7590.
If I go to Devices and Printers and add the printer.  The driver Windows 7 driver would work, it would detect the printer and the test page and everything would be fine.
However, if I install using the software provided by HP for the L7590 it would result in an error and it would not work.
The failed driver installation is only from installing the full bundle software provided by HP, if by itself through Windows 7 it would be fine.
Because of the failed installation using HP software the HP solution center does not work.
In Devices and Printers, the printer has the yellow exclamation point requiring troubleshooting, I click on troubleshoot and no device drivers were found.  In addition, I could not remove the printer.  Before installing the HP software, I could successfully install the printer and there would be a green checkmark, and there would be an option to remove the printer.  This leads me to believe HP has a faulty software bug that is causing the error.
I am suppose to use the HP add a printer shortcut that populated on my desktop after installing the software, the first time it would show the failure to successfully install the driver, afterwards it would not even detect my printer if it is plugged in.  If I remove the usb and reinsert it, the Windows would just show the failed driver.  I repeat, it failed after I install the software, it works fine without.  The primary reason I want the software is to use the scanning feature.

Hello NickRT, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are having software installation issues.  i would like to try and assist you.
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would reinstalling the HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver.

  • Hp officejet pro 8500 a910 software will not open

I have had my printer installed for over 2 years on my laptop via the network (Dell with OS Win 8.1).  Recently, as in I have no idea why or what happened, I have an issue where I cannot open the software on my computer to scan a document.
The icon on the desktop as well as under Programs > HP is "C:\Program Files\HP\HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910\Bin\HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910.exe" -Start UDCDevicePage
    with a Start In of "C:\Program Files\HP\HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910\Bin\"
I suspected that the link was broken and opened the link in Windows Explorer and it would not open from there either.  Also, the icon in Windows Explorer is nonspecific and does not look like an HP icon.
I tried uninstalling all HP software and reinstalling it, but am having the same issue.  I cannot open the software.
Anyone have any ideas?  Thank you!

    Hi @SandraDee1961,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Officejet pro 8500 a910 software will not open on Windows 8.1. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help you with this issue!
I would recommend the following steps:

  • Is Officejet Pro L7590 2008 software compatible with Windows 8.1?

I've recently upgraded computers to a Lenovo K450e running Windows 8.1 64 bit. For the last 7years, my printer has run flawlessly on Windows XP, and most recently on Windows 7(installing the XP starter CD ). Now, I'd like to move it to the Lenovo. I haven't tried to install either the Windows XP starter CD or the Windows Vista starter CD. Anyone have any ideas as to which will be more compatible or am I about to encounter problems with either of these ?  Any help is appreciated.

    Hello ml163,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are looking for software and driver for the printer on a Windows 8.1 computer.
Do not run the drivers disk for Vista or XP.  Please click on the following link for the HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver.  This download is meant for Windows 8.1 64 bit.  If you are connecting the printer to the computer with a usb cable, please do the download first and run the installation first. You will be prompted as to when to connect the usb cable by the prompts on the installation.
If you have any issues or any questions, please feel free to write me back.

  • HP Officejet Pro not printing for me, but printing for my coworkers

My office just got an Officejet Pro 8630 and I have been installing them onto our laptops. I have installed the drivers on four computers, and it has worked well for three of them (all but mine). Our office is doing wireless printing, and the printer is attached to the network. My computer is connected to the network as well. I did everything the same (to my knowledge) for the downloading, so I am very confused. I was able to scan from the printer to my computer in PDF form. I restarted my computer and also uninstalled/reinstalled everything but to no avail. When I try to print, it goes into the printing documents queue, waits there for a few seconds, and then goes away as if it had printed properly. Printing to our old printer still works for me (also wireless, but an Epson) but of course we will be getting rid of that soon. Am I missing something?

Hi , I see that you are having issues printing from just the one computer, but you can scan from the printer to the computer. I will certainly do my best to help you. Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor, it will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. If the issue persists, try the steps in this document to see if it will help. Wireless Printer Prints a Partial Page or Fails to Print All Pages in Windows 8. The Microsoft hotfix KB3000461 should help with this issue. What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages) If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know. Thank You.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Scanner Software

I am running Windows Vista and just purchased the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer. I am having a hell of a time with this printer and am seriously considering returning it if I can't get this figured out asap.
When I open the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 software, the main panel opens I double click on the "Scanner Actions" button, and then the "Scan Document or Photo" button, nothing happens. I can not get the scanner software to open so that I can control my scan options from the computer.
As well, from the printer control pad, when I go to scan, I am only able to "Scan to Network Folder" and am unable to scan to computer. The message that I am getting is "Computer is Unavailable".
I am able to "Scan to Network Folder" so I am not overly concerned with that issue however, I need to be able to access the scanner software so that I can adjust my scan settings etc on my computer.
I purchase the unit for the wireless. I could not access the software while connected with wireless so I attempted to connect via usb. No difference what so ever.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software 4 times so far. 2 times from the CD and 2 times from the software available on the HP site.
    This question was solved.

When I try to print from a Word Document the HP Officejet Pro 8000 Printer series - A809 Printer takes on average 1:24 to respond and print.
