Ok now i am mad...

Ok.. Miriam.. help me out here.. I need the number to apple customer relations again.. My imac g5's sleep light has messed up again.. System isnt crashing yet though.. all i have done lately is burn like 5 dvd's and encoded them.. that should not damage the system.. what is happening.. I have a g5 2.0 ghz.. It has been into apple 3 times in the last month an a half.. had the powersupply.. well everything was replaced last time.. Sleep light and everything else working perfect.. i burned some dvd's in the last 2 days and well i wake up.. look at sleep light.. not pulsing.. here is how i have it set up.. I have system set to not go to sleep.. I have the display set to sleep after 10 minutes.. When in normal sleep it pulses.. and when the display was asleep.. it pulsed.. until yesterday.. Screen goes off.. Light stays on.. good news is that it still dims.. but it does not pulse at all.. so i guess i get to call apple customer relations and make them finally replace the machine... Thats what they promised to do if anything else went wrong.. and i want them to replace it with an intel. which i have been told should not be a problem.. What do u guys think i should do??

Ok.. well customer relations is closed today.. I called my local apple store... I talked to a genius.. he tells me that when i have my machine set to not go to sleep, and screen saver set for 3 minutes. and the monitor to turn off after 10 minutes.. that the sleep light should NOT pulse.. I was like um.. well then why did it pulse in that mode for me until this morning? So he says they are going to "Test" it out on a few machines and call me back. I just got back from my aunt's house and "Tested" it on her intel 20 inch mac.. and well... it pulses in that freaking mode!!! Mine still "Dims" as it should in that mode but it does not pulse anymore. I know they do not want to give me a new machine but doode.. they have already invested over $2500 in this machine trying to make it work according to my reciepts.. I told the "genius" guy that i would be calling customer relations to get their opinon on it on monday. He didnt seem to happy about that... anyways. The saga goes on...

    I made my item in several projects before glueing the 5 parts together. The first two I could just do by copying and pasting from another project. However, the 3rd copy-paste just wouldn't work. FC continued to paste the former edit. Even when I quit FC and restarted. Even when I deliberately emptied the clipboard by pasting some line of text from another program. Even when I turned the part of the project that I wanted to transfer into a compound clip. In the end I solved it by exporting the project and importing it as a file into the Events so that I could paste it, and this worked. (2nd time round because the first time all my text effects had resetted).
    The next copy-paste, part 5 of the video, worked fine again. I've no idea why this happened, but it is probably too specific.
    Anyway, thanks again Tom, greatly appreciated.

  • Trying to change the name to the itunes account and made one myself because my sister use to use my computer and updating my apps where under her email now that i made my own i cant update anything on my phone its still showing my sisters email.

    basically my sister used my computer and everytime we had to update our apps it would be her email thats showing and thats when i knew that pw. since shes doesnt use it anymore i made my own and now it wont let me update it its still showing hers.

    To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. 
    If your sister doesn't know the password for her old ID, and if her old ID is an earlier version of her current ID, she needs to temporarily recreate the old ID so you can delete if from your phone using her current password.  To do this, have her go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with her current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to her old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to her old email address.  You can now use the password for her current ID to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for her old account ID.  After you do this, Next, have your sister recreate her current ID again by going back to https://appleid.apple.com and changing her primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.
    Then your can save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to the camera roll on your device, then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted.  You will be prompted to either keep or delete the iCloud data from your device.  If the data is already in another account you can choose Delete.  If you need to migrate it to another account, choose Keep, then choose Merge when signing into the new account.

  • Unknown error (-50)... now I'm mad

    Well, this problem has been going on for a long time, and Apple's support has been totally not helpful, so I decided to try here. I've been getting the unknown error (-50) for a long time... And I'm just now motivated because I've tried to download some TV shows and music videos for my iPod, and got nothing but errors four times for four separate videos. It turns out to be really convenient for Apple, considering that they get money, I don't get video (or music), and all of my home videos that I add to iTunes aren't playable by my iPod anyway. I've got a lot of money spent uselessly in the last half-year in both videos and music that I'd like to get. Please help me!!!

    my question...we have netzero "highspeed" (if you can really call it that) DIAL up connection. Could this be a problem?
    We have windows XP. I have installed the itunes & ipod disk that came with the ipod. I also installed the free itunes program off of the website and when I try to get the music that i purchased I get the following message:
    THERE WAS AN ERROR DOWNLOADIG YOUR PURCHASED MUSIC. AN UNKNOWN ERROR OCCURRED (-50). USE THE CHECK FOR PURCHASED MUSIC COMMAND IN THE ADVANCED MENU TO TRY AGAIN LATER.
    I don't know what to do? I tried your troubleshooting options and I still get the same error.
    Any suggestions??

    Thanks to the Lynda.com tutorials I'm quite confident about most basics (FCP7 users should checkout their 'from 7 to x' tutorial, it's good). However, I've encountered several things I'd like to share and maybe you guys can help me out with some of them.
    First of all, I was appalled by the numerous crashes.
    My last edit, for example, was a 7 minute video that was certainly not very complicated. Just lots of clips and some music, and a modest amount of filters. I've had at least 4 completely dead experiences. Since there's no Save function, in one of them I lost a considerable amount of work. After that, every time when I did something that involved a lot of effort, I wanted to save but coulnd't. PLEASE bring the Save function back so that we can at least actively preserve our work!? (Or did I miss a menu option?)
    Some other things that I wondered about:
    One of the things I used frequently in FCS is dragging filter settings from one clip to another, so for example if I made a nice vignette, I would drag and drop the settings of the filter onto another clip. From the Info tab I'm not allowed to drag. How do I do this?
    Why can't I put transitions on text effects, only on the primary storyline?
    What's the thing with drop zones? I can't get templates with multiple dropzones to work properly. The dropzones just do not show up in the info tab, it only works with single-dz templates or double dz-transitions. How can I get my multiple-drop-zones templates working, and how do I determine the order of which dz takes which clip?
    I wanted to put a certain filter on multiple clips at once, by just selecting all the clips. This didn't work. Is the only way to do this by turning them into a compound clip?
    how can I more easily set in-and-out-points in audio clips without dragging them to the timeline? Do I have to import them as files rather than just dragging from the iTunes tab?

  • Now I'm Mad!!!!!!!!!!

    My computer crashed about 2 weeks ago and NOW I went to go put some new songs on my 5th Generation iPod and it ERASED all my old music because it said I was using a new (or another computer) I am sooooooo angry!!! I had over 1000 hand picked songs that took me over 1 month to compile on my iPod and now they are all gone. WHY did this happen and what can prevent it from ever happening again should I have to do a system restore on my puter?

    When you connected to your computer after recovering from the crash, you should have seen this message;
    "The iPod "iPod" is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPod and sync with this iTunes library?"
    You apparently clicked 'yes', so it did just what it said. It replaced the contents of your iPod with the current (apparently empty) library.
    Sorry... this is why it's important to make a back-up. Do you have access to all that music somewhere? Did it come from CDs, or were they iTunes purchases? If you can't re-load them from CDs, you might look into a data recovery service. I hear that there are some good ones available, but they may be expensive, so you might have to shop around and compare prices with the cost or replacing any purchased content.

    when I open safari it works and instagram, but I'm not getting any notifications through and my twitter isn't working either,

    Maybe try resetting network settings in settings, general, reset.

  • Have been trying to upgrade my plan for a week now, had it handled but they are now reneging on the agreement they made. Basically happy to see my family leave over a one time $30 charge.

    I Went to the store to upgrade phones and get a new plan. They didn't have any of the three phones I was gettin, Tried to sell me a plan for 8 gigabyte, even though we don't even use 1 now. Left mad, manager watched and did nothing. Tried to call, I got mad when the customer service agent chuckled at me. I was pretty well done then. Wife tried, had it all worked, we were getting the arrangements as we wanted them. I even listened since it was on speaker phone, she was still talking as she left the house, the Verizon phone dropped the call, she called back and now they won't us the same deal they already agreed to. I told her I would try one last time. I explai this was my last call, at the end I found that my plan is paid through the 21st. What is really bad is that they don't even care enough to have a supervisor call. They won't even let me speak to one. I was willing to stay with them because in the past I had never had a problem with them, now I can see how they could be any worse.

    My phone is an iPhone 3gs too, and last night actually it said the same thing, "No Sim Card" and my friend and I started panicking but I did what I call a "Forced Reboot" where you hold down the Home and Power buttons until you see the apple logo. DO NOT RELEASE UNTIL THEN otherwise you are just shutting it down. So, I did that and it worked again....

    i was supposed to get my iphone today, but it was delievered so early that i was still in bed when the ups guy showed up and knocked and i got up and ran down stairs like a kid on christmas, but he was already gone and left me that ****** 1st attempt note. i am so mad at myself right now.

    This is a user to user support forum and not Apple employees so it is best to not post your email address in an open discussion group.
    Have you tried a reboot of the iPhone?  Hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears.
    My iPhone went to full brightness all the time after updating to iOS 6.1.3.  A reboot seems to have helped make it work as it should.  Also check Settings > Brightness and Wallpaper and see how it is set, reduce the brightness level it is too bright for you.

  • Genius is evil - madly changing track info in the background

    I think I've figured out why iTunes, starting in version 8, has been behaving strangely. It's Genius.
    I started out noticing that when double-clicked a song in the list view to play that it would jump to the end of that album's list. This drove me nuts. If I double-clicked each song, it would do this for each and then i could play the album how I wanted. I thought maybe it was tinkering with the track number info but couldn't find anything different.
    Then I started playing songs that I didn't have album, album artist, or composer information for and saw that once I played it, iTunes immediately updated to show me this information filled in. Now I was mad, b/c in a lot of instances the album information was some screwy greatest hits or tribute album. It finally dawned on me when I played a song and saw a foreign language soundtrack show up in the album field. Genius was filling in my missing information with information from how other users have classified that track. Yikes!
    So I've disabled Genius, but the damage is done as soon as Genius does that analysis of your library.
    Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm going to wipe my library and reimport everything, hoping that iTunes hasn't written the changes to the tag but only in the library. I wish Genius behaved more intelligently...
    Can someone confirm that Genius is changing/adding track info where it perceives mine is missing or incorrect?

    I had the same problem! I realized it today and googled my problem. I guess Zune is just really dumb at figuring out song information. I noticed it today when I had 42 new Rihanna tracks in my library. Apparently Zune took several songs that had nothing from Track 1 (etc), Unknown Artist and Album as its song information and changed it to some random album by Rihanna and did the tags completely excluding the Tracks. I have NO idea how it came to that conclusion as the songs were actually Soca music from Trinidad! FAR from Rihanna!!
    Other than that, sadly, I like Zune software better than iTunes on my Vista machine. The visualizer is the part that gets me. It's great for just playing music and I have something better to look at than just some seizer causing fullscreen lines. I have dual monitors and the full screen visualizer acts as if its a background so its sexii

  • Appointments made on an iPhone not pushed to iCal server

    I do not understand it.  It was working well but now all appts made on an iPhone are not getting pushed to an Lion iCal server but if I use a client Mac to make the appointment it gets pushed to the iPhone.  iPhone is able to push appointments to iCloud.  This appears to be a very recent occurrence but it may have occured for a while.  Any solutions or suggestions?
