OM - Moving Org Unit don't change relat 002 between my Position

Hi,
I have a problem with my OM system,
I have five org unit (A B C D E) everyone with one position head of own organizational unit, a b c d e.
this is my hierarchy

I have this relat in HRP1001
Org Unit     Positions

I'm moving (with ppome transaction) org unit C with its position c, under org unit D.

After the moving in HRP1001, relationship between org unit has changed B 002 C (is delimited) D 002 C (is new).
But, I don't have relationship between Position d and c (d 002 c), and relationship between position b and c (b 002 c ) is still valid!!!

Hi Frederica,
if I understand your problem correctly, I'm afraid there is a major design flaw in your OM.
You have an Org-hierrchy with leader positions assigned to each orgunit and the "normal"positions also assigned to those orgunits. This is absolutely sufficient for the system to know, who is reporting to whom and standard reports, evaluation paths, structural auth., workflows all can be set up to work with this correctly. And this is best practise.
BUT you also seem to be using a position hierarchy in parallel. A position hierarchy is really only meant to be a quick and chaep alternative for an Org hierarchy, if you don't want to create orgunits. There is no new information in there. It's completely redundant. And your problem is proof for why this redundancy is damaging: you get inconsitencies.
I"ve seen this before. Whilst their might be good resons for it (I"ve never seen one), thsi is usually done by consultants, who don't understand orgmanegement or do understand that what they are doing is wrong, but rather have teh customer do double manual work with almost guaranteed inconsistencies than make an effort to properly understand struc. authorisations, reports or workflows. If you have no clue about OM, the extra position hierarchy can make some things easier.
So, my recommendation is:
1) check our, where the position hierarchy is used for reporting, workflow, authorisations or other things in your system
2) replace this by the org hierarchy
3) delete the position hierrchy (i.e. the 002 relationships between positions)

    Org unit is not getting defaulted for the selected position in infotype 0001 during the hiring action.
    In OM Org. units and positions have been created.
    The Org. unit to Position relationship is also created.
    But inspite of this, In infotype 0001, the after selecting a position, the Org unit is still getting defaulted to "00000000" instead of the Org. unit Id to which the position belongs. (Please note: At the time of selecting the position, I do structure search and the position is shown under the correct Or. unit)
    Have I missed any step?

    Have u run the RHINTE programmes properly ?
    are u able to save the record?
    As some times it may be display probolem, if u r able to save the record then check the relationship in pp10/po13.
    and U have not answered what Mr. Valeri is asking about your Implementation/support because these type we come accress if data is not uploaded properly.

    Hi Experts,
    Can any you please let me know, is there any option of changing the Org Unit Validity period.
    Ex: By mistake I have created an Org unit with Start Date as 01.01.0091 and End Date 31.12.9999.
    Now I would want to change the Validity period of Start Date from 01.01.0091 to 01.01.1900.

  • Retro payroll processing for org unit cost centre changes

    We have created some new cost centres and assigned  it to relevant org units . when we run payroll , retro run is happening from the period we changed the cost center and assigned the new cost centre to the org units . please suggest a solution

    Hi Tressya,
    changes in IT0003 won't affect retro calculation, since you have already created result periods for retro calculation. The payroll programm will detect this and allways will repeat the retro unless you delete those results first.
    Try TR PU01 during correction - then clear Earl.pers. RA date  by PU03 (PA30 won't work here)
    After that you hou'll have to repeat payroll run for effected employees to get new results for actual period only.

    assume the bug your are reporting is that MOVE is not doing anything here. Its not that it doesn't update the taskflow. If I am correct then yes, this appears to be a bug.

  • Changing personnel area/subarea (IT1008) from org unit to position

    We are live with PA and Org. Mgmt, but have been advised to change the infotype 1008 data - personnel area and subarea to be stored on the position instead of the org unit (where we have it now).  A big reason for this is we have cases when we need to overwrite the personnel subarea at the position level.  For example, a position belonging to an org unit with subarea ABCD, may really be in subarea WXYZ.  Therefore, even though the org unit is ABCD, it will be overwritten at the position level to WXYZ.  My understanding is that the RHINTE30 program will not work approrpiately if we are maintaining the data this way. 
    In transaction PPOME there is an account assignment tab on the org unit with cost center (filled in) and personnel area/subarea (which will be blank moving forward since that data won't be maintained on the org unit).  Then, there is also an account assignment tab on the position with cost center inherited from the org unit (sometimes needing to be overwritten at the position level), and the personnel area/subarea data.  My question is how should I handle the view of PPOME for this data?  Can I hide the personnel area and subarea on the account assignment tab for the org units only so it is not confusing for the users?  The problem with having it this way is that personnel area and subarea are blank on the org unit and filled on on the position.  They are conflicting and both visable/maintainable to the User.  Any advise please?  Thanks!

    I gave you my input on your other related message and now will go for this one.
    As I commented on the other message, RHINTE30 will not integrate infotypes 1008 and 1013. So you don't have to worry about using this functionality (first part of your message).
    On the second part (personnel area / subarea on position rather than org unit): there are some considerations here that are more functional / process driven than technical. From a technical point of view, everything can be done. You can hide data from infotype 1008 on the tabstrip for your org. unit using dynpro handling, even via customizing. You can even transfer the data from infotype 1008 on the org. units to the positions or delimit it on the org units. There are some quite easy ways of achieving this using the LMSW tool (have you used it? I can forward some documentation).
    But personally, I would not recommend to do this from a process point of view. Everything in SAP HR is about the inheritance concept, and I think this works very well when it comes to org. units and positions. It is normally advisable to record personnel area / subarea on the org. unit level. This will be inherited by positions (even if you cannot see it at position level in PPOME) and thus defaulted for the employee. At position level you should handle only the exceptions, which will be in turn also defaulted for the employee holding the position. In this way, data maintenance is minimized. If you delete (or do not use from now on) information about infotype 1008 on org. unit level, your HR department will have to maintain this every time a position is created, and even in cases in which a position is shifted from one org. unit to another one.
    In my opinion, you should address this with your HR department and explain the concept and the consequences of maintaining all at position level. It would only be advisable to do it if the org. unit structure is very cross-personnel areas and subareas. If it is a matter of handling exceptions, again, I would recommend to continue recording this data at org. unit level. All in all, if the data is not recorded on the position and you need to see which is its personnel area, you just need to double-click on the org. unit above.
    Just wanted to let you know my opinion, of course it's your decision. By the way, I'm of course not aware of other possible implications like home-developed reporting and so on.

    +What is the best way and steps to properly move an employee from one Org Unit to Another Org Unit without messing up prior configuration. I need to move this employee from Manager (Org Unit A) to another Manager (Org Unit B).  Would editing the Org Unit number or changing the Org Unit number work. I have a exact new validity date as well.+

    Thanks for your indepth reply. I guess there is some steps involved based on your ans.
    Per your answer: in PA, you create the Action for reassignment and take into consideration the possible changes to Quotas, Benefits, etc... is there anyway to keep prior info/configured data and bypass these steps - copy/paste/dragg feature to the new org structure- so data stays the same and no other possible changes occur.  I understand that position is linked to Org Unit. I can copy the position to the new Org/and then assign the position to the new Org Unit. Does the record automatically get delimited(prior record). Are there any additional steps to verify the data validity and that this employee got reassigned properly.
    Also how would I test the change before transf. it to production.

       I have requirment like one perticular PERNR i have one Org unit position costcenter and personal area. I wanted to move this PERNR position ,personal area and costcenter into new Org Unit.
    I mean The PERNR  Org unit needs to change with out changing the position personal area and costcenter.

  • Changing Org Unit

    Hi Experts,
    I have created an org unit (say 5001) and a position (say 7001) then I have assigned the position to org unit and finally we hired an employee on position 7001. After the completion of hiring we realized that the org unit is wrong and hence we created to a new org unit (say 5002) and changed the position assignment from org unit 5001 to 5002 through PP02 by clicking on the change button (Pencil Icon). after doing this when I goto infotype 001 it shows the old orgunit (5001) only. Please let me know how to rectify this.

    As you have found out, your process of changing the relationship in PP02 does not directly change the IT0001on the PA side.  RHINTE30 or copying to create a new IT0001will bring in the new organization assignment. 
    Next time, use the drag-and-drop functionality in PPOME.  You can drag the position to the new org unit to create the new reporting relationship.  Both IT1001and IT0001will then be changed automatically.  
    In all cases above, please pay attention to the dates of the org units and the change.

    Is it possible that one same position is available in two different org units with 100% occupation. actaully, I have a situation where an EE is moved to diff. org unit but it is not updating org key automatically generated by combining per area and org unit. Though its working fine for the previous record till the time org unit was not changed but not when the org unit was changed.so, the new record is not updating automatically. where cld be the problem.

    Create new postion in the new org unit to which you want to transfer the employee with 100%.......
    then use the transfer personnel action for changing his org unit and the new position....
    you can find new records in IT0001 for new org unit and postion and also in OM the old postion would have been vacant and new postion will be occupied

  • Missing position and Org Unit relationship in PO13

    Hello SAP Pundits,
    I created a Position 1234 with transaction PPOM with Org Unit A and Job code X with start date 01/01/2009
    Now I hire an employee XYZ with this position X from start date 01/01/2009.
    When I go and see position X in PO13 it shows following relationships
    1)     Position 1234 - Org Unit A from 01/01/2009 to 31/12/9999
    2)     Position 1234 u2013 Job Code X from 01/01/2009 to 31/12/9999
    3)     Position 1234 u2013 Person XYZ from 01/01/2009 to 31/12/9999
    Perfect till now.
    Now if I change the Org Unit of the Position 1234 from A to B from date 01/04/2009 using PO13.
    A new record is created in IT0001 with start date 01/04/2009 and previous record is delimited.
    But now if I check the relationships in PO13 for position 1234 I donu2019t see the new record for Position 1234 and Org Unit B.
    However the previous relationship between position 1234 and Org Unit A is delimited till 31/03/2009.
    Why am I not able to see the assignment of Positon 1234 with new Org Unit B? Any reason why I am getting such an error?

    When you have changed the Position 1234 to org Unit  B from 01.04.2009 then the previous relationship will not show in po13, it goes into History which you can see in Complete Position Description..
    goto pp01 and select that position and create relationship with Org Unit B... am not sure why in Infotype 0001, previous record get delimited and new record got created..

    you can always find the link between Org unit O and its related BP in table HRP1001.
    Key in Org unit ID in the table selection parameter OBJID and execute. It will list postions (S) assigned to the Org ID and its BP number. Look at the relation B207(subtype) which will show O-BP assigment. It will be the last entry in the output list.

Like in PPOME when you display/change an Org unit we should be able to see similar positions displayed together in sorted order based on their description and not the eight digit object id.

    Hello Sandeep,
    Unfortunately the only standard functionality is to change the rankings of the positions within transaction ppome. Therefore you have the buttons 'Move up in rank' and 'Move down in rank' in the overview area of the ppome. As you know if the field PRIOX in the table hrp1001 is empty, the transaction sorts the positions by OBJID. So perhaps you could create a abap program to change this standard functionality to insert values into field PRIOX for the corresponding relationship in HRP1001 that you want to sort.
