Open Activities

Hello, This is day 2 of administering a new On Demand system, so I hope this is a simple one...
I notice that when I mark a Task as complete (either by using the Mar As Completed' button, or by using the Status dropdown), the activity moves into the Completed Activies section as expected, but it also stays in the Open Activities section. Is there anything else I can do to get it out of the Open Activities section?
Thanks,
Andy

Andy, when you complete a task it should drop out of the Open Activities into the Completed Activities section. Also, another way to complete a task is to click on the down arrow next to Edit and click on Done.

  • How to delete Open Activities in the DTR Web UI? Functions are missing...

    Hi@all,
we have some problems with open activities and files that are checked-out.
To solve this we found this desciption by SAP:
"Deleting Open Activities in the DTR Web UI
Since open activities can be a problem if they cannot be found any longer - for example if a developer
PC crashed - there is a function in the DTR Web UI to delete such activities (ADMINA permissions are
    required).
    1. Open the following URL: http://<host>:<port>/devinf and choose the Design Time Repository link.
    2. Choose the system-tools link.
    3. Choose the Activity search.
    4. Navigate to the workspace that contains an open activity that is no longer needed and cannot be deleted by its owner.
    5. Search for open activities.
    6. For the activity that is no longer needed, choose Revert this activity.
    7. Select the Delete the activity resource also checkbox and confirm with Revert.
The activity is reverted and deleted."
But when we go there, we only found "Activity Search" under "...\system-tools\reports\ActivitySearch", not directly under s"ystem-tools" or "administration".
So all functions for reverting or deleting activities are not there (because of reports?!?), we only can watch them.
Where can we found this? How can we delete activities? in some views files are checked-out, in others they are not... and also activities only can be seen here, not in CBS or somwhere else... we try to solve this by deleting "open" activities.
    Any idea or help?
    thx

Thanks for help, it works (we still "ignore" that dropdown?!? stupid).
    Question:
Is there only deleted the activity or also source code is reverted? Waht is with souce code that is actual?
Because we have some activities on projects that work well, but activities are there for 3 years right now. We want to make NW OK...

  • Extraction of Open Activities from CRM (CRM t-code S_AE2_89000019)

    Hi Experts,
we are to extract data from CRM, in detail the data is about open activities. However it is not pretty clear to me if there does exist SAP content for this requirement (DataSource, InfoSource, DSO, InfoCube etc).
The t-code we can use to display the data is in CRM is "S_AE2_89000019", the data input/modification of the activities is done in CRM using a web frontend. At least a part of the data is stored in the table "CRMD_ORDERADM_H".
Can you please let me know if the data is stored in further tables in CRM and suggest if there exists a DataSource (and InfoSource/DSO) in order to extract the open activities and handle them in BW.
If you have further suggestions/hints or if there are How-Tos/Blogs regarding this topic please kindly let me know.
    Thanks!
    Brgds,
    Marcel

    Hi Raf,
thanks a lot for the suggestion. Data Source is correct, it is in deed DS "0CRM_SALES_ACT_1". Because I have already tried to retrieve data using this DS before opening the thread I checked the DS directly in CRM (t-code rsa3). There data showed up when doing a check of the DS directly in CRM. When I started the InfoPackage on BW side to load data in PSA there was an error that no data is availale . After searching the forum again I found this thread::
CRM - Reload  in INIT mode : get 0 record
My problem could be solved by adding the entry in table SMOFPARSFA as described in the last post of the thread. Now the data shows up in BW. Although I do not know why it works now
However problem is solved, points are assigned. Thanks!

  • Opening activities for the ne Fiscal Year

    Dear All
what are the activities that are required to carry out for opening the New Fiscal Year..
    Thanks  & Regards
    Veena Kunthe

    Hello
The new fiscal year is automatically opened when you make your first posting in the new fiscal year or once the balance carried forward program has been run. You do not have to close the old fiscal year before you can post data in the new one. You therefore do not need to create closing or opening financial statements.
The prerequisites for posting to a new fiscal year are as follows:
If you are using a fiscal year variant which is year-specific, you first have to create a variant for this fiscal year and assign it to the relevant company code. See Fiscal Year and Calendar Year
If you have also defined year-dependent document number assignment, you must have already set up the document number ranges for the new fiscal year. For more information, see  Document Number Assignment
The relevant posting periods must be open in the new fiscal year. See Opening and Closing Posting Periods
Check this link for more documentation on carry forwarding balances

  • Activation of open activities

    Hi experts,
After i made a change to my dc, i checkin the activity and proceed to activate it and activation went on fine. But however when i run the application, the page is not reflecting the updates. What could be the reason ?
    Pls help.
    Regards,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
If you have made some changes in your project on your machine, whether you have checked In the code or not after deploying the application the changes should be visible.
Because before Check In, the application is local and you still can see the changes you have made just by deploying the application.
You checkIn the Code, to have a one place for the code that is your DTR server.
Please check if you are deploying the latest version of your code.

  • Account Team Members and access to Open and Closed Activities

Is there not a way to allow account team members access to view other members on the teams activities?

If you are the owner of the pertinent Account, then for the other users on the Account Team, the Default Access Profile would be applicable, which you should change.
For the Account record type, the access level can be kept as anything (read only, read/edit or read/edit/delete). In the related information for the Account record type, have the access levels of Completed and Open Activities as View.
So, if you add the account team members in the Users section in the Account activities, the activities (appointments/task) would appear in each of the user’s calendars and tasks section.

  • Reg: Open and Closed Activities in DTR

    Hello Guru's,
I am confused with the Open and Closed Activities in DTR, What are the significance of these activities?
And when does an Open Activity changes to Closed Activity?
And why does an Empty Open Activity gets created?
How does the Open Activities effect the Performance of the system?
In NWDS what is the significance of the Public Part and the dcdef xml files?
Please explain and if possible send the links to better understand these? I tried searching for info but with no luck.
    Appreciate the Help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pramod

    Dear Pramod,
Activity in general can be considered as the wrapper of your changes.
While working in NWDI, any modification that you perform on your source code must be associated with an Activity.
    Some Definitions:
Client DTR: Represents the Local Track file system present on you local machine, where Checked-out a desired code from Server DTR
Server DTR: Represents the Central Repository present on the server, where your source code is checked-in.
    Open Activities
These are the activities that are not yet checked-in to Server-DTR, and they represent the Open Version.
    Exmple:
    1) Suppose you have made some modification in "File A" which is associated in Activity-1
    2) When you open the DTR Perspective in your Developer studio, you will be able to see all the changes that you have associated in the Activity-1, this DTR-perspective of your NWDS is also termed as Client-DTR.
    3) But, when you open the Server-DTR in DTR Web interface, you will not be able to see the same file structure that is present in your client DTR, it will not contain the changes that you have incorporated in Activity-1.
    4) The changes present in Activity-A are not available to any other developers, even if you try to use the same developer ID and load the same track, the activities are still said to be purely Local.
    Closed Activities
These are the activities that are already Checked-in to Server-DTR and they represent Closed Version.
    Example:
    1) In the same example explained above assume that we now Check-in the Activity-1.
    2) Now, if you open the Server-DTR in DTR Web Interface, you will be able to see the same file structure that is present in your Client-DTR.
    3) Now the changes that were present in Activity-A are also available to other developers too.
    Open Activity and Performance
    1) Open Activities create a temporary entry point reference on the Server DTR you can serach for open activities in Secer DTR web interface, every single activity occupies space on your local machine. So it may affect the performance only if the activity count is very high.
    2) In the local file system, the meta data is stored in the .dcdef file in the _comp
    subfolder.
    3) The meta data is stored in the .dcdef file, every public part has its own meta data file. They are located in the def subfolder of the component and have the fileextension pp.
Every component (DC) is defined by a set of files, stored and versioned together with the
    component in the repository.
u2022 A file with the reserved name .dcdef stores the basic attributes such as name,
description and component type, the parent component (if there is one), a list
of child components (if there are any), a list of dependencies, links to the component
sources, and the access control list. The .dcdef file must be stored directly
    in the _comp folder.
u2022 The folder _comp/def contains one file for each public part of the component,
which carries the name of the public part with the extension .pp. This file contains a list
of the development objects belonging to the public part and an access control list for
    this public part.
Both .dcdef and .pp files are stored in an XML-based format; you can display them in the
content display of the Repository Browser or with any text editor. However, this is
not necessary. To create and edit these files, use the component tools of the SAP NetWeaver
    Developer Studio.
In exceptions, you can manually repair the .dcdef or a .pp file of a component.
Note that direct manipulations are dangerous and can render a component
    unusable.
I hope you will get a clear picture now.

    Shreyas Pandya

  • Limit Values in Open/closed Activities of BP Page

    Hi,
On the BP overview page we have views displayed for 'Open Activities' and 'Closed Activiities'. By default they would display all open/closed activities. After a while this can become a lot (and slow, and not very useful).
So, there is a view (CRMV_ACC_1O_CUST) where we can customise the time frame of activities that we wish to see. Our problem is that none of the time frames there are useful to us.
We can choose, 'This Year', which is useless in January or we can choose, "Last Year', which is useless in general. What we can't choose is, 'From last year until today'. That would, of course, be entirely useful.
The entries in the customising table take the form Y-1, Y A, Y1 etc and these formulae are translated at run time to an actual date range. This is hard coded in a CASE statement in FORM build_the_query of Include LCRM_BSP_OIC_1O_SEARCHF01 so changes can only be done as a repair.
The way the standard works is that Y+-1, if run on date 20120126, will return the date range 20110101 - 20111231. This means that we won't see any open activities from January. Y A, which means current year will return the from date as 20120101, which means that we won't see open activities from December.
I read about the BAdI CRM_BP_UIU_BT, which would allow us to inject our own selection parameters; but I can't seem to work out which parameter names should be used for activity start/end dates. Pushing 'STARTDATE', 'FROM' etc result in an empty activities table being displayed.
What I would like, of course, is that Y+-1 would return 20110101 - 20120126 when executed on 20120126. Or to create a new entry such as Y*1 which would mean one year either side of the given date. I can make a repair to the standard code, but I'd rather not have to perform a repair to write my own logic for dates range.
Any other ideas? I assume we're not the only people using the 'Open Activities' view; how did the rest of you handle January?
    Thanks for your time,
    P.

    Hi,
    We got an answer from OSS;
For your business requirement, in order to set up a time frame option
like 'last 12 months', you need to extend the customizing table:
"CRMT_ACC_1O_CUST". You can define your own time frame as below.
I will provide a sample for it:
    ***********************Creating Time Frames***************************
    1. Go to Tx: SE16.
    2. Enter the table TSCTFGROUP.
    3. Create new records here with the following details:
(Please ensure that you enter a sort order that doesn't already exist)
APPL NAME TIMEENTITY LENGTH DEF FLAG SORT ORDER
    CRM_1O_LOC M+ - 12 <blank> 14
    4. Go to Tx:SE16.
    5. Enter the table TSCTFGRT.
    6. Create new records here with the following details:
(This table is to create the text. Please ensure that you create here
as many records as you have created in the above step 3)
    LANGU APPL_NAME TIMEENTITY LENGTH TF_TEXT
    EN CRM_1O_LOC M+ -12 last 12 months
    7. If needed, enter the same records in other required languages also.
After this, time frame 'last 12 months' will be visible in the selection list. Now You can select this time frame in the SPRO customizing for certain business transactions. But above changes are not standard changes If you upgrade CRM landscape to higher versions/packages, you will have to transport these changes manually.
That was the answer, we've done as was suggested and things are fine now.
You can have a programmer look at
    Include: LSSC_RULESF03
    Form:  compute_dates_f
To see how the formulae are translated at runtime.
For instance, you'll see that you can create an entry such as D365, which means 365 days before until 365 days after today. However, in the code there is no way for M or Y* to be translated; a programmer can explain that to you if required.
I hope that this helps someone at some point,
    Patrick.

  • Unable to load activities from DTR

    Good Morning.
We're working with Netweaver 7.0.13 and right now i'm having problems when I try to logon into the DTR.
It connects successfully to it(i mean, i can see all the inactive and active DC's) but I'm unable to see my open activities. when I try to login, inside the DTR console appears the following message
Failed to depersist SyncDB C:\Documents and Settings\pe1529\.dtr\.syncdbs\addef7b0d0189847f422188b9ff983de.syncdb.
One of the tests i've tried is to modify the readonly attibute of the syncdb file, but it doesn't seem to affect it.
I hope someone knows what happens...

it seemed the computer runned out of disk space so, netweaver was unable to write the required files. By deleting some files, it worked perfectly...

  • Can not open linked files - word documents

    Hi,
Currently running SLED10sp1 with Adobe Reader 7.0.8 at a school. Some educational CDs use PDF documents with links to various files on the CD, especially word .doc files.
For example, one of the CDs has a start.pdf file in the root of the CD. When you open it it has a menu of a couple of categories. When you click on one of the categories it open activities.pdf which has an index of various subjects.
When you click on one of the subjects Adobe Reader says "Adobe Reader could not open 'act-01-01.doc' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."
Click "OK" - the only option.
Adobe Reader says "The application "/media/path/do/act-01-01.doc" is set to be launched by this PDF file. The file may contain programs, macros, or viruses that could potentially harm your computer. Only open the file if you are sure it is safe. If this file was placed by a trusted person or program, you can click Open to view the file."
Buttons available are "Do not show this message again", "Do Not Open" and "Open".
    Clicking Open does nothing.
When double clicking act-01-01.doc file from Nautilus it opens fine using OpenOffice.org 2.1's Writer.
When running Adobe Reader from the command line the following output is generated when clicking on the link to act-01-01.doc:
sh: -c: line 0: syntax error near unexpected token `)'
    sh: -c: line 0: `DISPLAY=localhost:10.0 ; export DISPLAY ; ( ) &'
Then when the "Open" button is clicked:
sh: /media/0731401689/technology/activities/chap01/act-01-01.doc: cannot execute binary file
The "Allow documents to open other files and launch other application" tick box is ticked in the Preferences.
    Can someone please help.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Rob

Thanks Salil, that works for one CD, the other CDs have spaces in files and directories and it looks like Adobe Reader doesn't know how to deal with the spaces.
    For example:
    In a terminal I execute:
    acroread /media/MQ_9_NSW_5_3_SE/PDF/MQ9\ NSW\ 5_3\ Tech\ files.pdf
When I click on any of the links that link to a word doc files Adobe Reader exhibits the exact same behaviour as in my initial post.
This is the path of the file Adobe Reader tries to open:
    /media/MQ_9_NSW_5_3_SE/Technology files/MQ9 NSW 5_3 TI GC programs/TI GC word docs/010-CoinflipTI.doc.
When I click open, this is what echos in the terminal:
sh: /media/MQ_9_NSW_5_3_SE/Technology: No such file or directory
I hope there is a workaround for this because the mime fix only helped me with 1 out of about 10 CDs.
For Adobe Reader to open Excel documents would I append:
    application/msexel; ooffice "%s"
    to /etc/mailcap?
    Thanks in advanced.

    Rob

  • New Field value not displayed in "My own activities" of CRM 5.0 Own tab

    Hi.
I have a scenario where in we have added a new field to "My open activities" in CRM 5.0 Own tab.
However the value of the field for various transactions is getting displayed only for one particular user and not for all the users.
what may be the reason for this?!!!!!!
The only user who is getting the output properly, the user ID of his was replication based on similar roles to check whether it was issue related with roles. But the output was not obtained even with the replicated user ID.
Hence the output continues to come only for one particular user in all the systems.
Kindly request to provide some inputs / suggestions at the earliest.
    Thanks and regards.

Is aanyone able to help with this?
    Thanks

  • Checked-In Activities not showing in Activation View

    All,
Having a bit of trouble with our NWDI that just started happening.   Normally, when we check-in an activity in the Open Activities view of the Development Configurations perspective in NWDS, we should be getting a dialog that asks whether we want to go ahead and activate that activity.   This is no longer happening.
Additionally, if we switch to the Activation view in NWDS, the activities do not appear there.
We have a work-around (going through the CBS web UI, finding the activities, and manually activating them), but it's less than desirable.
Any ideas of what might be causing this problem?    Perhaps issues with the NWDI track?  Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks!
Edited by: Peter Rauchenstein on Jun 23, 2008 5:52 PM

    Akshatha,
I have tried what you suggested, but this appears to only be another work around (I'll still award you some points though, because I think it was helpful).   I am a member of both the NWDI.Administrators UME group and the NWDI.Developers group, so I can see all pending activities for all users when i apply the filter.
However, when I do not apply the filter (current user), I can not even see my OWN activities, despite having admin privileges on that user.   Perhaps something is incorrect in the assigned actions for the NWDI.Developer role?
However, I appear to have the correct actions assigned...
    UME  -- sap.com_com.sap.lcr -- LcrInstanceWriterNR
    UME  -- CMS -- Display
    UME  -- CMS -- Export
    UME  -- CBS -- Developer
Any other ideas of what might be causing this issue?   We are on NW SP15 and are also using the SP15 version of NWDS.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Iu2019m having problems re-assigning some activities. When i make a slight alteration to an existing activity I added my note and reassigned the activity to another user to raise collection but it is coming up with the red message when I click on update which reads as follows:
'Another user-modified table 'Activities' (OCLG) (ODBC-2039) [Message 131-18]'
    Could you please assist.

    Gordon,
I have tried disconnecting the AddOns to no avail. There are a few stored procedures but none that I can see attribute to the actitivity screen.
I have tried this on a test company and there is no issue. I have ensured no one else is logged into SAP but the same message appears. Having investigated further it is now only happening for one activity in particular. Other 'Open' activities are fine. Newly created Activities can also be edited.
    Any other ideas?
