Open Document Management API[ODMA]
We want to know how to integrate open document Management API thru java.
I did a Google search for "ODMA Java". The first two hits I got were two of your posts here. That tells you how much useful information there is on the topic. The third hit was an FAQ; in August 2000 somebody asked "What is the Java support for ODMA?" and nobody has answered yet. The fifth hit is an article that suggests you don't waste your time with ODMA.
This may not seem helpful but it really is. It tells you that you should be trying something else.

Itunes document manager pro will not open a document with .cwk extension. It will catch the document then error message states that it cannot open document. Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong?
Forgive my ignorance but I have never hear of iTunes Document Manager Pro. If you mean Document Manager Pro, i was able to find that. Back to your problem, have you tried opening one of those files in the iOS iWorks apps? Form the quick read that I did about this, .cwk files can be opened by Pages, Numbers or Keynote, depending on what type of document that it is and those files can be read by Document Manager Pro, after properly saving them. I don't see that you can go directly from the .cwk file in Document Manager Pro without converting them first.
I took a very quick look at the app, so I may be a missing something about its capability. -
Reset & reverse document with open item managed and none open item managed
Dear forum,
I would like to confirm the below.
If i have a posted document where the double entry has open item managed account and none open item managed account and where the open item managed account is cleared, how can i reverse this document.
The problem now is FBRA cannot reset and reverse (as the document partly has none open item managed account) and FB08 also cannot reverse (as part of the account is open item managed account and it is cleared).
Besides manually reverse via FB01, any other method?

Moderator: Please, avoid asking basic questionsWhich document are you trying to clear using FBRA? You should reset the "clearing document" using FBRA; not the original document that has one open item and one non-open item. Once you reset the clearing document using FBRA, you should then be able to reverse the original document (the one that has one open item and one non-open item) using FB08.

Clearing Non Open Item Managed documents
Hello,
we have an existing G/L account where it was previously set to non open item managed. after some time, they have switched it to OI managed. since the balance of this account is 0, they were able to switch it successfully.
problem is, during FBL3n, these documents (that were posted when the account is still non open item managed) is listed in the open items. can this items be "cleared"?

When u have created the GL and if you have not activate or deactivate the OPEN ITEM mmanagement.
You have to use the follow SAP std progrom. ther are four std program SAP has provide for this these

you have to check the documentation of the program to know which one u have to used here for your case .

GL acct change to Open Item management (with archived docu.)
Dear all,
When we use program ZRFSEPA02(copy from RFSEPA02) to switch on OI mang for GL acct,but program prompt this acct have documents were<b> archived and NOT allow to execute!</b> I know SAP announced RFSEPA02 was not usable since 4.5A,but users insist to use old GL acct,and ask SAP OSS and replied for consultant issue.
So is there any ways to solve this problem?

As you would not get to see the old docs even if the program did work then you should go the recommended route of creating a new G/L Account (with open item management switched on) and redirect your users and any system settings to it.

Sorry, I am new to the type of problem-solution process and I do not know how to edit my first statement. My true statement is below:
My pdf freezes when I click on COMMENT. I am trying to get at the tools to edit a pdf. If I use the tools from the toolbar, there is no issue, but once I click COMMENT, the document freezes and I have to open Task Manager to crash it. This started in the last seven days (3.31.15).I answered your questions below, BUT while I was searching for properties, I found the REPAIR ACROBAT INSTALLATION feature, did the repair and (Voila!) the issue was resolved!

I am using Acrobat XI Pro, version 11.0.10.32.
I did not create the file I was working in during the freezes, so I tried a PDF that I created with Adobe and it also freezes when I click on COMMENT. I did discover that the COMMENTS plug-in is loaded. (see image
I have used COMMENT for years without this issue occurring. It started in the last 2 weeks.
I could not find Properties under the file menu, but found a security setting in Preferences under the Edit menu. It did not have a way to allow/disallow COMMENT. -
Archiving documents having open item managed accounts
Hi All,
We have a requirment to archive accounting documents older than 2 years. I would like to know if it is possible to archive those accounting documents which have postings on open item managed accounts.
Example: If I have an accounting document for good reciept posting as stock account to GR/IR account. can we archive this document.

For Archiving must full fill creteria:
1.The docouments must no longer contain open items. The system takes into account only cleared items or those with out open item management. -
Drilldown with Open Document API

I am having a problem in BI. Please anyone help of solving this. The problem is like that:
I have a report with drilldown capabilities. Report is like that KPI Vs YEAR. Now after drilldown the report change to KPI Vs Month. Now Month has a hyperlink that switch the report to the another report (details record of that particular month). Now i want a add a feature something like this: from details records Is there any way to back to my master report with last status(KPI Vs Month). I have made a solution, from details report using Open document API i can switch to the master report but it has an initial stage like KPI Vs YEAR. But when i switched to the details report from master report, the master report has the stage like KPI Vs Month.

I usually add the parameter sWindow=New to the URL that drills from the master to the detail report (i.e. in your example from Month and KPI to the new report). This makes the detail report open in a new window. The user gets back to his starting point (the monthly view) by simply closing the browser window of the detailed report.

Thank YouThere are a number of solutions, none of which, unfortunately, are trivial:
In decreasing scale of difficulty:
a) Hand-code the entire solution. PDF and MS DOC are both well documented formats.
I wouldnt recommend you try this.
b) Use ready-made open source libraries:
Other than the ones mentioned earlier, there is an Apache Libraray (POI ?) which can be used for reading and writing streamed OLE objects (which is what a word doc is)
c) Use the Java-Activex bridge and use mature COM/Activex components
WinWord itself is an Activex component. There are loads of mature Activex components that can spew out PDF.
d) If platform is not an issue, use C# or VB.NET
I'll probably get flamed for this.
I am not a .NET advocate usually, but in this particular case you should be able to complete your task with least effort by using mature Activex libraries and one of the .NET languages. -
First Java Project - Document Management and Workflow
We are about to embark on our first java project around document management and workflow.
I would be interested to know how others have approached similar projects – Open Source applications or other tools/APIs.

Crystal Reports version 13 managed api's run slower than native version 11
Hello,
I am a senior engineer, working in a project of porting client code written in C++ using Crystal 11. It uses the native COM api like shown approximately in the following code fragment:-

... code to setup Export Options, setLogonInfo on database, set parameters for report etc.

This code is launched in few threads, and works nicely, and a very stable used code in real world.
We have ported this to Crystal 13 .NET api's and our code approximately looks like

.. set diskfile format options, pdf format options, paramters, logon info etc. very very similar to the native C++ code, almost matching 1 by 1 line

document.Close();
No problem so far, and it works fine. This is also launched in multiple threads same in number like native, and works fine. We get the same pdf file generated.
But here is the problem. In native we are getting easily around 2000 reports in 20 mins. But in managed we are taking 35 mins for the same set of reports. The output looks fine and same etc. But there is a good 40-50% performance regression, and we have tried so many things, but never able to beat this 40-50% perf degradation.
Can you please help ? A few questions. First are we executing document.Export really concurrently ? Is there any waiting or serialization going on insider Crystal api's. Is this Crystal 13 managed api, a thin stub layer just passing on to native COM apartment threaded dll. Can this layer introduce such a delay ?
A few things we have tried and haven't succeeded for summary:-
1. Opened 1 dummy report in the beginning and kept opened throught, to flush any ref counted inits
2. Didn't perform Close immediately, but had another thread chew on it and Close delayed
3. Reduced the thread to 1, (in native as well), again our perf degradation is comparable.
4. Optimized the reports from various suggestion in this forum. Did better, but so did the native, and still we are comparatively poorer.

Does someone know if the Configuration Manager API is still supported in NetWeaver 2004 SP15? The com.sap.engine.frame.core.configuration package is still present, but I can't find any documentation.
That is, via SAP Help I do find this old (WAS 6.30) document: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_webas630/helpdata/en/a8/c7ccfd2ee40c438a4e0a21210baede/frameset.htm">Configuration Context</a>
And via Google I was able to find this recent (NW 04) document: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/33/8439e52dc94c7192eb53f99854dfd6/content.htm">Opening a Configuration in Read or Write Mode</a> but when I use the search functionality in SAP Help it doesn't come up.
Besides, the API is not present in the <a href="https://media.sdn.sap.com/javadocs/NW04/SPS15/index.html">SAP Netweaver 2004 SPS 15</a> javadocs.
As a sidenote, would you recommend to use this configuration mechanism or use a framework like <a href="http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/configuration/">Apache Jakarta Commons Configuration</a>?

The API version is hardcoded in Microsoft.ServiceBus.dll, which ships as part of the Service Bus. Each version of this lib has a different string.
If you install workflow manager 1.0, here are the pre-requisites:

Clearing GL with Open Item Management
Dear Experts.
A liability GL (Remuneration Gl account) has been created by the client in the system without open item management. After that several entries has been posted in that GL account. Few months back they have activated Open Item Management for that GL using a program.Now they want to clear few entries in that GL account and while clearing the GL in F-03 system is displaying an error
Document splitting: Items for clearing 1000/9300000661/2012/001 not found
Message no. GLT0002
Diagnosis
Document splitting cannot perform clearing because it was not possible to find complete splitting information on the items to be cleared (company code, document number, fiscal year, item).
System Response
Clearing cannot be performed and the document cannot be posted.
Procedure
Exclude the affected item from clearing.
It may be that this item was not posted with active document splitting. In this case, this item or document would have to be migrated.
This error occurs due to the Open Item Management activation in the GL after entries were posted.
Now the client wants to clear few entries in this GL account for which Open Item Management was activated recently. The client is not willing to create a new GL and post transfer entries. Is there any other possibility to clear this GL account.
Please provide your valuable suggestions.

The reason for the error GLT0002 is that there is no values for
document in tables FAGL_SPLINFO and FAGL_SPLINFO_VAL
Regarding the clearing process in the FAGL_ACTIVATE_OP:
The clearing of the 'old' items is the standard process in the report.
Here is the part from the documentation:

The system then activates open item management and clears all existing
open items. After this clearing, you have the option of having the
system repost the amounts that were initially written off.
This is done to start newly with the OI management once it is activated.
So if you want to activate the OI management for an other account in
your system, please take into account that the clearing should NOT be
opened again in standard.
I would request you to please read the documentation in SE38 for FAGL_SWITCH_TO_OPEN_ITEM
and please check whether all criteria's are fulfilled or not.
