Open items check in OVA8

Hi Friends,
Can you let me know the impact if I have not maintain the *Max open item% *and maintained only No days openit as 5 in OVA8 transaction.
Thank you,
Ram

Hi,
You need to do some testing to understand clearly on how the sytsem behaves,
In normal scenario, the field Max.open item % is used in tandem with NoDays openl.
In the field Max.open item %,  a % is added which denotes the ratio of the open items overdue by a certain number of days (which you mention in the field NoDays Openl) to the customer's balance should not exceed that % value.
If no value is maintained in the % field  then, I assume, it is going to denote 0%. So when the ratio between open items overdue by certain days to the total customer's balance will always be more than 0% during credit check. This means the customer will always be in credit block (to me which makes no sense).
As mentioned before, do a test by changing the settings before moving any further.

P.S: I can see some questions you have posted earlier, which are still open. Can you please close if those threads are answered so that the members can understand which answers really helped solve your problem. Thanks.

    Hi,
If you are in an new GL environment, you cannot change it; a new account is required as you may have to abandon the old one.
Are you release 4.5 A or earlier? Then SAP supports the change program RFSEPA02/03 after you zero down the balance of the balance sheet account. Beyond 4.5A and untill New GL, you can change it but beware, SAP no longer supports RFSEPA02/03, since handling errors frequently occurred in the past causing data inconsistencies.
If you nevertheless want to use the reports, copy them to ZFSEPA02 or ZFSEPA03 and mark the following lines as comments:
    INITIALIZATION.
    CALL FUNCTION 'POPUP_DISPLAY_TEXT'
    EXPORTING
    POPUP_TITLE = ' '
    TEXT_OBJECT = 'RFSEPA02' ('RFSEPA03')
    EXCEPTIONS
    TEXT_NOT_FOUND = 1
    OTHERS = 2.
    LEAVE PROGRAM.
In addition, you must adjust the EPA00F00 include. Mark the following line as comment:
    INCLUDE EPA00F00.
    *>>>> START OF DELETION - NOTE 175960 <<<<
    CHECK SY-REPID = 'RFSEPA02'. "<<<< INSERT - NOTE 0065877
    *>>>> END OF DELETION - NOTE 175960 <<<<
    Enhance the following line:
    INCLUDE EPA00F00.
    *>>>> START OF INSERTION - NOTE 175960 <<<<
    CHECK SY-REPID = 'ZFSEPA02'. "<<<< INSERT - NOTE 0175960
    *>>>> END OF INSERTION - NOTE 175960 <<<<
Please be aware that questions regarding the use of the reports will only be considered as SAP Consulting, since the account change is a correction to an incorrect account control

    Hi,
In OVA8, there is a check on open items.
May I know what is max open item % and NoDays OpenI?
Let say i maintain max open item % = 10 and NoDays OpenI = 40, can advise how system work with these with example?
As each open item has its own due date. so I just wonder what does this 40 for. I read F1 but not quite understand.

  • Open items not considering in credit check.

    Dear Experts,
We have implemented credit management in our new role out company code with the same credit controlling area for both company codes.
As per our configuration at the time of sales order creation, credit limit has to be checked and check the open items and oldest open items. It is working fine in old company code, but in new company code its not considering the open/old open items its only checking the credit exposure value. But the old company code its checking the credit exposure and open items and old open items.
In OVA8 we have configured the below way
selected the Dynamic check box  - reaction C
selected the Cretical fields check box  - reaction A
selected the Open items check box  - reaction A
selected the OldestOpen items check box  - reaction A
The above credit management is working fine in quality for both company codes, but in production its working fine only old company code.
I have already checked the all relevant configuration and requests, there is no issue in configuration.
Please let me know the possibilities for not considering the open items for credit check

    Hello
You are absolutely right ,  the automatic credit control is at credit control Area level and not at company code level. Need to know few things from your end.
why business has not set up the new credit control area, when new company code has been configured. I think this would have made more sense .........
however its bit strange that sales recevables are not getting considered in the credit check, only in production ....... I think you need to keep your search on in SDN as well as try to search for any sap not in Service market .......
Once you get the answer; hope you update the thread ........
wish you luck in your search ......

  • How to change status of open item management check box??

    Dear Members,
There is a GL which was not defined as Open Item Management Previously.
Now we Identified and we wanted to define it as Open Item Managed account.
    For ex take ..Payable Account
say there is one line item with credit balance ..to make this accoount balance as 0 (ZERO)  ..we reversed the original entry ..we tried to select open item check box..
but system is not allowing us to change ..instead its giving msg"Account balance is zero but stil open items exists"
    i dont understan this ..
now how to solve this problem
    thanks & regards.

    Hi suja csc,
Thanks for the points : )
OK it's very easy to transfer the balance. Either u have already customised program to upload data or if the data is "little" u can just manual posting using FB01. just zerorise all balances in the old account.
    Eg. old journal:
    01  MAN        NIAGA SDN.              1,975.00
    50  80070010   Rental-Car Park              1,975.00-
    To transfer:
    17  MAN        NIAGA SDN.              1,975.00-
    40  80070010   Rental-Car Park              1,975.00
Means, the account will be zero.
    Hope this will help you.
    TQ

  • Pupose of Item Check in TCode OVA8

    Hai,
Can any one tell me the purpose of item check in OVA8. Actually it purpose is to allow credit check at item level. But in my case customer order is blocked only when we check item check in OVA8.Only I want  to know the purpose of it,
    Regards,
    Madhav

    Hi,
If you would have seen & understood the F1 help for Item Check field activation purpose in OVA8 then you'll come to know the clear logic of activation {_Actually it purpose is to allow credit check at item level_ - this statement which you've drawn in you query is wrong}... I mean to say that, if you activate the Item Check  in OVA8 then the credit check with start as soon as you enter any item in the sales order, system will not wait for the sales order to be saved...
So, eventhough you de-activate it system will block the sales order if customer credit limit is exeeded.

  • Credit Management - Maximum time overdue limit for open item

    Dear all,
I've this scenario to configure for automatic credit control. A customer is billed on Jan 22nd '10 and now the account receiveable shows an open item. This customer is allowed 52 calendar days to make payment for this invoice, hence no credit block yet. As such, the customer can still make orders.
In my existing configuration, I've already enable "static" credit check on "open orders" and "open deliveries". The static check is to check against the customer's credit limit.
So, if I were to add in the earlier mentioned overdue open items check, is it sufficient to just maintain the field "Days oldestItem" with "52" within the automatic credit control screen?
    Thanks.
    Steven

    Hi
The sytstem will shows oldest open items depending on the payment terms from the invoice date.
Once it crosses the days of payment then it will show in oldest open items
if you want to extend some more days for that then you need to maintain the days in "Days oldestitem" the automatic credit control area
Prerequisites for credit management to work in Sales and Distribution:
1.Assign credit control area to company code
2.Maintain the credit limit in FD32 with details of risk category and the credit limit value
3.Do the settings in OVA8 -automatic credit control area with combination of Credit control area/Risk category /credit group.
4.Assign the credit groups to the sales and delivery document types.
5.Maintain the Subtotal 'A' in the pricing procedure against which value the sytem should check the credit limit.
If you have any further clarifications on above let me know
    Regards

  • Regarding open items in credit management

    Dear friends
My query is that is it possible to restrict credit management for credit and debit open items? See i am using oldest open item blocking in my scenario. Now credit and debit amounts are both considered as open item for credit management. I want only invoice (Debit entry) for consideration and not his payment(credit entry).
Please advise is it possible or not and if possible where to define that???
    With regards
    Inder

    Hi,
All business have their own credit management needs, SAP allows you to specify your own automatic credit checks based on a variety of criteria. You can also specify at which critical points in the sales and distribution cycle the system carries out these checks.
    SM30 - Table/View
    V_TVTW – Define Distribution Channel
V_TVTA_KKB – Assign sales area to credit control area
V_T014 – FI - Define Credit Control Area
T001CM - FI – Assign Permitted Credit Control Area to company code
OVXG - Set up Sales Areas
    e.g. Sales Organization
Distribution Channel Division Distribution Channel Division
    FD32 - Customer Credit Management
OVAK - Define credit limit check by sales document type
    Check Credit
A – Credit limit check and warning message
B – Credit limit check and error message (no sales order can be created)
C – Credit limit check and delivery block (block delivery if hit credit limit)
Options B and C -> used for checking open order values (when you create/change the sales order)
D – Automatic credit control with open order values
More control in transaction OVA8 - Automatic credit control
You check for open orders and deliveries, or just open deliveries.
or open order values with other options
    Credit group
Allows you to combine different sales document types for the credit limit check
VKM1 - Blocked SD Documents – Finance have to released the delivery block
OVAD - Define credit limit check by delivery order
whether the automatic credit check occurs at the time of delivery creation and/or goods issue
OVA7 - Define credit limit check by item category
Set whether to include/exclude item category for credit limit check
OVA6 - Define credit group. You can groups together different business transactions which should be dealt with in the same manner with regard to the credit check.
You enter the credit groups when you configure the sales document types for credit management and define the (D – automatic credit check).
    SAP default credit groups
01 – credit group for sales order
02 – credit group for delivery
03 – credit group for goods issue
OVA8 - Automatic credit control – Double click on the line items
You can have the followings credit limit check :-
    Static
Depends on the customer total value of open orders, deliveries, billing documents and open items.
    Open items
    No of days open
Overdue open items checks is based on the ratio of open items that are overdue by a certain number of days.
    Max open items %
The customer balance must not exceed a certain percentage.
    Oldest open items
If you don’t want to deliver to the customer at all when even only 1 invoice is overdue.
Tick the Check for Oldest Open Item and Set the field Days oldest item = 1.
    Days oldest item
No of days allowed for overdue or payment terms.
Use of the credit check Oldest Open Item. If a user attempts to alter the order quantity of a released sales document
that was previously blocked, it would be reblocked again by the system. The system only reblocks the sales document if the new order quantity is above a certain % amount.
    Released documents are still unchecked
The preset % is whatever you want to set it as when configuring your automatic credit processing. You enter a deviation % and number of days,eg, you can set it so that an order can be changed by up to 10% within 30 days of original order entry date without it going back on credit block.
    Next Review Date
If a customer has a credit limit of 1000 USD, and you would like to restrict this credit limit only to be available in current month (say March). If the document day is in April then the credit limit is zero.
You can use the “NextReview date” and “Number of days” fields and combined it with the “Last int.review” field in customer credit master “Status” view (FD32).
VOKR - Display of work list for credit management (configure the display variant)

    Siddharth.

    Hi,
Open items check means it will consider all the open items when it is doing credit check. Here it adds all the open items amount and do the credit check..
Oldest open item means it will consider only the oldest open item and based on tht i will do credit check..Here i will check the oldest open item value and its date then do the credit check..
Coming to payment terms check, system is responding correctly.. because payment terms are immed due net. tht means still time is there in the same day. that is the reason it is not blocking the second document.
once move to 2nd day then it means first doc is not cleared tht is the reason it is blocking the 2 nd doc on 2nd doc..

  • Switch to Open Item Management at a Line Item Level

    Hi Guru's,
I want to change a non Open Item G/L account to an Open Item  at Line Item level, we are on version 6.4
We have activated New G/L and I checked OSS note 175960, it says its not applicable if New G/L activated.
I tried program FAGL_SWITCH_TO_OPEN_ITEM , it switched the account to Open Item but the problem here is it did't switch at line item level it is just showing total balance. My requirement is to switch at Line Item level.
Is there any solution other than creating a new A/c with Open Item checked and transfering balances from old A/c to new A/c.
    Please suggest
    Thank You

    Hi,
There are 3 ways to realize it.
    1. create a new account with XOPVW, then transfer the balance from old account to the new one. this is recommended by SAP.
    2. if you want to change  flag of XOPVW in this account, then make the balance to zero, then change this flag in FS00, at last trasnfer the balance back to this account-> Not recommended by SAP, because it is easy to cause data inconsistency.
    3. method in note:175960-> but report :RFSEPA02 and RFSEPA03 are not support since release 4.5A.
So if possible, suggest you to use 1.
    Best Regards,

  • General Ledger - Open Item Mgt/Line Item Display

    Hello Experts,
GL Account was created with no tick in open item mgt and line item display.  Business users posted few entries and now realised that the accunt type should be open item manageable and display should be at line item level.  Going through the SDN forums, few experts suggested the workaround  as follows:
    1. Block for posting GL master
    2. Make it zero balance in the account(clear existing trans)
    3. Run program(SE38) RFSEPA01
    4. Check Open Item Check box/Line Item Display
    5. Unblock the GL master
    6. Continue posting as normal.
However the above solution was recommended for 4.7 or earlier versions and for ECC 6, the recommendation was to open a totally new GL master with correct attributes and block the old GL master.
My client is running ECC 6.2 but requires this corrected asap and I wonder if anyone can suggest a better solution than creating a totally new GL master.
    Appreciate quick resolution/advice.
    Thanks
    Mohammed.
