Opening external video file

I was wanting to know if it is possible to open an external video using java code. I am not wanting to open the video inside my jframe but just locate the file and make it play.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you have a some sort of a media player which accept the media file to play as a command line parameter then you can use that with Runtime.exec.
Also in windows 2000 and later versions you can play a media using its associated player by typing its file name in the console. You can make use of this with Runtime.exec.
Both of these approaches are platform dependant.
If you want a cross platform video playing capability take a look at JMF or JVLC

Indicas que no puedes abrir ningun archivo de video, se supone que has probado varios formatos, mp4, mov,..
Has actualizado el OSX a 10.9 ?, funcionaba antes? La versión de Photoshop es la CC, no la CC 2014?
En el menú de Ayuda>Actualizaciones, cual es el resultado, dice que esta al día?
    Tienes abiertas otras aplicaciones?
Prueba a cerrar todo, espera media minuto y abre Photoshop a ver que ocurre.

  • Can I open PSD Video files in premiere elements 12?

I have Photoshop CS6 and would like to purchase a video editing software.  My question is if I purchase Premiere Elements 12, will I be able to open PSD video files from photoshop in the Premiere Elements?

Ps CS 6 (and the Extended version back to CS 4) can edit Video (limited Import capabilities, and limited Export capabilities). However, Ps will NOT Export any Video as a PSD. The PSD format is the Ps native Image format, and is output via Save.
My *assumption* was that the PSD was a Still Image, that was perhaps going to be animated in Video via Keyframing the Fixed Effects, such as Motion>Position, over time, as there is no PSD Video. Perhaps my assumption was incorrect, as to what the OP has, and wishes.
In Ps CS 6, Video output will be to a standard Video format/CODEC, but the list of available formats/CODEC's is very limited, compared to Premiere.
Maybe I am just misunderstanding what the OP is looking to do?

You are still under warranty.  Call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.
#1 - You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your computer with no questions asked.
#2 - You have 90 days of FREE phone tech support.
#3 - You have the standard one year Apple warranty.
#4 - If you've purchased an AppleCare Protection Plan, your warranty last for 3 years.   You can obtain AppleCare anytime up to the first year of the purchase of your computer.
Take FULL advantage of your warranty.  Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.

  • Opening psd video files in premiere elements

I have Photoshop CS6 and would like to purchase a video editing software.  My question is if I purchase Premiere Elements 12, will I be able to open PSD video files from photoshop in the Premiere Elements?

Yes. PrE can Import a PSD, so long as it's RGB and 8-bit Color Mode.
Now, if it is Layered, it will be Flattened upon Import. PrPro can Import a Layered PSD as a Sequence (something that PrE does not have), and maintain those separate Layers.
The workaround, if you do wish to retain Layers (well, sort of), is to Save each Layer as a separate PSD from Ps, then Import those resultant PSD files, stacking them on successively higher Video Tracks, one above the other.
Good luck, and hope that this helps.

PS - I had Moved your post from the Ps General Discussions Forum, before seeing this one. I will Lock that other post, when it shows up, so that if you have any questions, we can continue in this thread - the Adobe Forums are acting up a bit today, and some posts have been very slow to migrate.

  • Apple Script For Opening External EML File With Apple Mail

    Hi folks,

I am working with Apple Script for implementing numerous function related to Mail App.

I am using the following Apple Script lines for opening the mails which are in Mail app for each modes.

View Mode : open theMsg

Reply View Mode : reply theMsg opening window yes

Reply All Mode : reply theMsg opening window yes reply to all yes

Forward Mode : forward theMsg opening window yes

I want to know how we can open external eml file in different view modes (View, Reply, Reply All and Forward) using Apple Script or Apple Event programmatically with a similar mechanism available through script in Mail App.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Nisar

I'm not sure what you're doing here, but this isn't anything I recognize as compilable applescript. what is this 'mode' thing you're talking about.
at any rate, if you have a loose emlx file sitting around somewhere you can simply open it in mail (use the 'open' command and the file specification for the emlx file) and work with it appropriately. if you're talking about an actual eml file (e.g. from Outlook Express) you'd have to GUI script Mail's 'import mailbox' command (the applescript handler for importing mail only works with Mail.app mailboxes)

  • Can't open a video file after Final cut export

Very strange issue which getting me nuts.
    I've FCP 7 on Lion.
I'm finishing a project and export it as it is on an external hard drive for back up.
    I've got a .MOV file.
After that I'm making an other folder and export all the working file from FCP.
    End of the story.
Later I want to open the Quic time video file... and then I've got an error message telling me that QT is looking for data of the video file "xyz-FIN-0000000e"
There is only a STOP button.
If I press it I've got a new error message telling me :
The file "xyz-FIN-0000000e" can't be found. Without it the video can't be play correctly"
(I'm translating the message from my french system)
So I can find sometimes the files is asking from the other folder (the FCP back up files) and then it open it...).
But WHY does the video file needs reference files ?
It was an export and I ask the exporter to make a self movie...
    Realy I don't understand what's wrong.
    Any cue ?
    Thanks !
    Jean do

Is this a Final Cut Pro .mov file. If it is it would open with FCP. Are you sure you saved with "self contained" checked. I seem to remember someone with a problem like this.
I think in the future you need to open your exported self contained FCP.mov files with quicktime Player and change the "open with" to quicktime player.

  • Quicktime doesn't open any video files (app loads, no video)

I've done my best to search for a solution, but I have come up with nothing.
Whenever I try to load any video files (.mov, .mp4, .avi, etc) Quicktime Player 10.1 opens, but no video file is displayed. Same results if I use the "open" command from within Quicktime. All of the videos play fine in VLC.
The only exception to this rule is when viewing a trailer on trailers.apple.com. If I "download" an HD trailer, Quicktime opens and begins to stream the trailer, however the ram runs away (8+gb instantly) and the computer starts chugging very badly.
In the old days I would have just reinstalled quicktime, however with how deeply it is integrated into Lion I am unsure of how to proceed (short of a clean install). Thanks in advance!

Is there any way to force an install the latest from nVidia or is this a bad idea?
A previous poster with a Toshiba posted how he installed a generic driver. If I recall it was
    Uninstall the graphics driver.
Remove the display driver from Device Manager.
Reboot declining prompts to install a driver.
    Run the generic installer program.
I'll see if I can find the original post, I had it in my clipboard manager but that has the unfortunate habit of killing off its database every few months
