Authorization - Sales Manager: Lead Management / Opportunity Management
Hi Portal Gurus,
As per our requirement, in the 'Sales Manager' role, under 'Sales Cycle', we need to provide only 'Lead Management' for one set of users and 'Opportunity Management' for another set of users and both for other set of users.
What would be the best way to do that. Thanks in advance for your help!

The best way to implement this is to maintain a single Sales Role with all the sub catagories ('Lead Management' , 'Opportunity Management' ) and apply role filtering concept according to the users. That way you need to maintain a single Sales role. Check out the below blog for more details abour role filtering.

Or else, you can create three different roles, one for each 'Lead Management' , 'Opportunity Management' and other containing both of them and assign to users accoedingly.

Populating Status field in Opportunity management
Hi All,
I need to populate my own values in Object status list box in opportunity management(CRMD_BUS2000111).Is there any way to fill these values.It would be great helpful to me if u have any solution for thishi Rekha,
just create a new status profile via like Rekha said : SPRO -> SAP Reference Image -> CRM -> Transaction -> Basic Settings -> Status Management -> Define Status Profile for User Status
just create new status profile and fill the status that you like to have.
don't forget to choose the object types CRM Oder Header for the new status profile.
and save it
after that you need to assign the new status profile to your opportunity transaction type and save it.
after that try to testing it, i think it will works

Weblink issues for copying opportunity and lead records
I am trying to create weblink fields for copying Opportunity and Lead records. I am basically successful for Opportunities except that I can not get picklist or link values (such as the associated account) to copy over.
I am having no success at all for the the lead copying field. My code is as follows:

To my knowledge there is no written documentation available. But this is the way i do it. Go to the lead edit page. Right click in your IE and choose view source. Search for that particular field say "First Name" or "Last Name". As part of the HTML code displaying the field (<input> html tag), you can find the exact field name to be used.
The example in my case is below says the field name is LeadCreateEditForm.First Name

Relation between activity , opportunity and lead

Could you please tell me relationship between activity, opportunity and lead?
How I can create opportunity based on activity? I didnt find where its possible
ThanksActivities are different from opportunity & lead. Opportunity & lead are two different stages of sales cycle. While activity is the medium through which any kind of customer interaction happenes.
Functionally, lead is start of prospecting. For example, a call center executive take a list of customers & call them up. She asks them if customer might be interested in the product. Out of 10 calls, 6 might say yes. So, these 6 leads are created in the system. Corresponding to these leads, call center executive can create 6 activities where she can assign 3 sales executives (2 leads each) these activities so that they can visit two customers each in a day.
Now a sales exec goes to these 6 customers & finds that 2 will definitely not buy. But 4 might buy. So, 4 corresponding opportunities can be created in the system.
Correspongind activities can be creatd where sales exec will again visit customer & try to initiate a sales cycle (quotation, negotiation, confirm order, deliver, billing).
To create opportunity based on activity: Go to any activity. You should find a button to create "A followup transaction". Using this button you can create any type of sales document, including opportunity.

Planned Activites in opportunity managment
Hi Experts,
I am working with CRM 7.0 . In opportunity managment I find two assignment blocks 'Planned Activites' and 'Completed Activities'. When I create a Follow up activity . I find the activity in my 'Planned activities' assignement block. Now when I click the action corresponding to the activities. The activity moves to the 'Completed Activities' assignment block. But to my suprise there is no change in status of the Activity.
Is this the standard behaviour or I need to do some customization regarding this ?. Could you please then explain what is the use of the action link in both the 'Planned and Completed Activities'.

Thanks for replying. You are right saying that the change from planned to completed activity in opportunity management is dependent on the system status. Only the system status is updated to 'completed' for the activity when I click the 'Close' Action.
But I am wordering what could be the business case to set only the system status in this case ? is there any way to set both the statuses ?

Please inform me in anybody work on opportunity Management in mySAP CRM. Our requirement is the partners maintain in Partner tab of opportunity needs to flow on buying center Tab Page.
But we were not able top find out any BADI or Function Module regarding the same. So never aware for completing this functionality do we need to write down any code or is there any configuration is available for the same. I have not worked with the Buying Center, but...
It sounds as if you need to work with your Partner determination procedure, which determines how partners are determined e.g. copied from one transaction to the next.
Have a look at the Partner determination procedure for your transaction in:
SPRO - CRM - Basic functions - Partner Processing - Define Partner Determination Procedure

What are the changes related to opportunity management when we upgrade from crm5.0 to crm2007?

-Graphical Maintenance of Buying Center
-Copy Buying Center to Account to store as template
-Download Buying Center Template from Account to Opportunity
-Quotation Creation through Template in MS Word
-Partner Re-Determination anytime during an opportunity
-Opportunity Assessment based on Expected Sales Volume (e.g. certain assessment if over $1,000,000)
-Tracking of competitor products and prices
Of course the opportunity is also much easier to use due to the new UI layout without tabs.

Is opportunity management available in the Standard Edition (100$) of Fusion CRM(Sales and Marketing) cloud version?
Also, is Fusion Base CRM same as the standard edition or does it refer to something else ?

SAP INBOX TICK IN OPPORTUNITY MANAGEMENT
Hi,
SAP inbox check box in sales team at Item level of Opportunity management.This is provided for whether a partner is considered in inbox selection or is deleted.
We have to leave this field unmarked if you want the system to consider the partner in inbox selection.
Logically this should go to SAP Inbox workplace,but it is not going.Can anyone tell what are the settings required for that.

I think you have a misunderstanding of the phase history. It's showing you how long the Opportunity was in a specific phase. Not what is the planed time for that phase.

Create Opportunity From Lead Workflow WS10001011

My Requirement is whenever a lead is created with Priority = 1 and qualification level is 001 i.e level 5 and Lead group is TOP Customer need to vreate opportunity automatically with workflow 'WS10001011' . we customized the standard work flow and maintained conditions as above and BOR BUS2000108 and events for the Business Object in the create opportunity task but it is not working properly .please give some input regarding this .

Funds management & leading Ledger
Hi,
I am working on ECC 6.0 and have define 0L as leading ledger. Now we want to go for funds management to cater to budgeting requirement.
On activation of funds management, for every transaction system ask to define the leading ledger which already has been defined. I activated funds management thru below path;
IMG -> Public Sector Management -> Funds Management Government -> Basic Settings -> Activate Global Funds Management Functions (PSM-FM).
Let me know the solution for the same.

Hi.. User is owner of Schema.. Schema contains all the objects ownd by particular user. One user can be owner of one Schema. So.. user and schema is same thing? ( HR is Schema )
