Oracle Configurations for High User Volume

Hi,
Can anyone point me to some resources which discusses choosing a suitable Oracle configuration ?
Like what configurations are best suited for a high user(5K to 10 concurrent logged in users) Architecture ?
Regards,
Amila.

Hi,
We can call the stored procedure using receiver adapter using ccBPM, we can follow different approaches for reading the data in this case.
a) In this  a ccBPM instance needs to be triggered using some dummy message, after receiving this message the ccBPM can make  a sync call to the Oracle database the store procedure(this can be done using the specific receiver data type strucure), on getting the response message the ccBPM  can then proceed with the further steps. The stored procedure needs to be optimized for improving the performance as the mapping complexity will largely get affected by the structure in which the stored procedure returns the message.Prioritization of the objects can be handled in the stored procedure.
b) In this a ccBPM instance can first read data from the header level table, then it can make subsequent sync calls to Oracle tables for reading data from the child tables. This approach is less suitable for this interface as the number child tables is big.

  • Shop configuration for internal users

    Hi SDN,
We are using ecommerce 7.0 for SAP ECC 6.0.
I've seen at the shopadmin that there is a possibility to configure an eshop for internal users. There its possible to create a scenario "B2B For Internal Users".
So in my point of view. I have to define a b2b configuration at XCM. And then i should see that new scenario after login.
But that works abolutely not. The shop with scenario "B2B For Internal Users" is not displayed. I only see all the configurations of type "Internet Sales B2B".
Why?? both this scenarios are B2B scenarios. So both has to been displayed?
How to configure a shop for internal users?
One more point which i understand not... Why is this configuration for internal users a B2B scenario and not a BOB?
The internal user has to select the customer...so thats the same like a BOB shop??
Please explain me that things What im understanding wrong here?
    Thanks and best regards,

  • No principal configured for calendar user address

For several users on our server, free/busy info cannot be viewed. When a user goes to invite attendees to an event, and types in their email address, the following shows up in the log:
    2009-08-06 16:06:29-0500 [-] [caldav-8009] [AMP,client] POST /calendars/_uids_/E0BAF924-0610-47F9-A3DE-DF0D8E4A54F6/outbox/ HTTP/1.1
    2009-08-06 16:06:29-0500 [-] [caldav-8009] [-] "No principal for calendar user address: 'mailto:[email protected]'"
    2009-08-06 16:06:29-0500 [-] [caldav-8009] [-] 'No schedulable principal for calendar user address: mailto:[email protected]'
    2009-08-06 16:06:29-0500 [-] [caldav-8009] [-] 'Error during POST for mailto:[email protected]: None'
When I run *sudo kadmin.local -q list_principals* from the terminal I show the person's username listed in the results, however the output of this command is in the format [email protected] (in other words, the internal DNS hostname for the server), rather than [email protected] (the email address of the user).
Can anyone explain what I may be doing wrong here? I'm running OS X Server 10.5.7 with OpenDirectory and iCal services, and using Thunderbird 3.0b2 with Lightning 1.0pre plugin. I was able to see freebusy information until just recently, so I know it worked in the past, and nothing has changed on the client end, so something must have changed on the server.

I found the issue. The users that were having issues did not have an email address set up for them in the "Info" section for their user account in the Workgroup Manager.
    It makes sense:
    1) Calendar client submits query to iCal server for a particular email address.
    2) That email address isn't found on anyone's account.
    3) Since it can't be found, no freebusy information can be retrieved, and errors are thrown.

  • Display "light" that shows user in specifc CSQ for high call volumes

Hello - I am using UCCX 8.5 and have a design that if calls sits in their incoming queues too long (time varies with which CSQ), the call will go into the "Escalation" CSQ which will be serviced first before any other CSQ.
Currently I am using the workflow setup in the supervisor to send an e-mail if there are more than three calls in this queue.  The director of our customer service is wondering if a flashing light or something like that can be set up so it is more visible to staff members.  Does such a thing exist?
I know you set up a large monitor with the supervisor graphs and that is ok, but she is looking for something you can sight of out of the corner of your eye.
    Thanks!
    /alan

    Alan,
I don't believe there is anything specific in 8.5 that allows you do what you are asking.  However, there are many 'wallboard' products out there that can solve this issue.

  • ACE Load Balancing Configuration For NATed User Traffic

    Hello,
I am currently working on a requirement where the shared application services will be hosted in DC and these services will be accessed by multiple (thousands) users from different corporates/customers. The user traffic will be hidden behind customer's proxy servers or firewalls so the load balancer (ACE modules) services hosted in DC will not be able to see requests coming in from induvidual users IP addresses.
In this scenario what are options of load balancing are available in Lyer3/4 and Layer7 ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Sanjay

    Hi Sanjay,
In a set up where all users are coming from behind a proxy, all users will be loadbalanced to same server thus overloading it. This is when you are doing standard L3/L4 LB.
In the situation of proxies, for HTTP applications you shall use L7 LB and use information(cookie) in HTTP client request or server response. The ace will use this information to stick the user to same server for persistence. If a client comes with no cookie it will be loadbalanced according to the predictor method configured. Below is the link for L7 configuration example and other TS steps you can take while configuring L7 policies on ACE. For more informatin i would suggest reading ACE user guide too.

  • Is there any  ORACLE DB for MAC users ?

i had looking for Oracle express edition for MAC OS X platform
and it seems there is no one for it ( there is only for Linux / Windows )
any suggestion on how to get oracle and learn it on my MAC( Leopard) machine ?
actually its strange problem i thought Oracle will support MAC in any case while all other technologies ran on MAC ( Sun tech, PHP ,Apache , MySQL )
    any advise appreciated here

You might like the instructions on my blog for configuring the Oracle Client 10g on your Mac OS X after you install it in a VMWare Fusion virtual machine. Both Linux and Windows versions are available for Oracle Database 10g Express Edition. My students typically install it in a x64 XP Pro version. Allocate at least 1 GB to the VM.

  • Same oracle login for 200+user..issue if any?

I'm in the development work for an application which would be accessed by 200+ users.
If all the users have the same oracle login(same login name\password for connectivity to oracle server) ,would it cause any issue? If so what issue would it cause.
    Can someone throw light?
    Thanks,
    Bhagat

If all the users have the same oracle login ... would it cause any issue? It means you cannot meaningfully audit user activity in the database. Nor can you assign different security privileges to individuals or groups of individuals. Also it makes it difficult to figure the particular user responsible for an expensive session.
There are ways of associating a specific user identity with the a session but these are implementation specific.

  • Oracle connector for ebusiness user management

    Hi,
Do we have connector for Oracle applications 11.0.3?
can anybody point me to the OIM connector certification for ebusiness
    Thanks

You have 2 options. The simplest is create an oim group called like "EBS Default Responsibilities". Create an Access Policy that contains ONLY those responsibilities. When you're Create User task completes, trigger a second task called "Add User to Group" and in your task, create an adapter that adds the user to the OIM group. Then the access policy will trigger and add the responsibilities.
Otherwise you can add the values directly using the addProcessFormChildData API. To code using this API just search the forums and you should find plenty of samples.

  • Configuration for writing user exits

sir provide me the configuration of user exits, purpose how to write it
    thank u

    Hi Supraja,
User exits are the enhancements provided by SAP
you can use them in transactions. Each transaction will have user exits.
If you want to use your own requirements by making your coding while the transaction is run you can use user exits.
For example if you want to run the MRP in MD02 specific to MRP controller you can user exit.
Please also refer the document below.
    USEREXIT
Userxits allow us to add our own functionality to SAP standard program
without modifying it. These are implemented in the form of subroutines and hence are also known as FORM EXITs. The userexits are generally collected in includes and attached to the standard program by the SAP.
All Userexits start with the word USEREXIT_...
    FORM USEREXIT_..
    z..
    ENDFORM.
The problem lies in finding the correct userexit and how to find it if one exists for the purpose. Once the correct userexit is found the necessary customer code is inserted in the customer include starting with the z. in the form routine.
    e.g. USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE
Certain application like SD still provide this form of enhancement using userexit but this practice is no longer being followed for newer extensions instead they are using EXITs which come bundled in enhancement packages . Nevertheless existing USEREXITS will be supported by SAP an all the newer versions of SAP.
    HOW TO FIND USEREXITS
Userexits can be found in number of ways:
    1) To find userexits in SD module , goto object navigator(SE80) and select
development class from the list and enter VMOD in it. All of the userexits in SD are contained in the development class VMOD. Press enter and you will find all the includes which contain userexits in SD for different functions like PRICING, ORDER PROCESSING etc. Select the userexit according to the requirement and read the comment inserted in it and start coding.
Some examples of userexits in SD (SALES & DISTRIBUTION) are:
1)ADDING OF NEW FIELDS IN PRICING
In Pricing in SD the fields on the basis of which pricing is done are derived from the FIELD CATALOG which is a structure KOMG .This structure is used to transfer transaction data to the pricing procedure in SD and is also known as communication structure. This structure KOMG consists of two tables KOMK for Header related fields and KOMP for item related fields. The fields which are not in either of the two tables KOMK and KOMP cannot be used in pricing .Sometimes a need arises when the pricing is to be based on some other criteria which is not present in the form of fields in either of the two tables. This problem can be solved by using USEREXITS which are provided for pricing in SD. Pricing takes place both when the SALES ORDER ( Transaction VA01) is created as well as when INVOICING ( Transaction VF01) is done. Hence SAP provides 2 userexits ,one for sales order processing which is
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP or
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK
Depending upon which table (KOMK or KOMP) the new fields were inserted we use either of the above two userexits. These userexits are found in include MV45AFZZ of the standard SAP sales order creation program SAPMV45A.
In the case of userexit which will be called when invoicing is done ,these
are provided in the include RY60AFZZ which is in the standard SAP program SAPMV45A. The name of the userexits are same. i.e.
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP or
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK
These userexits are used for passing the data from the communication structure to the pricing procedure, for this we have to fill the newly created field in the communication structure KOMG for this we fill the code in the above userexit using the MOVE statement after the data that has to be passed is taken from the database table by using the SELECT statement. The actual structure which is visible in these userexits and which is to be filled for that particular field is TKOMP or TKOMK.
Before the coding for these userexits is done ,it is necessary to create a new field in either of the two tables KOMK or KOMP .For this purpose includes are provided in each of them .
To create the field in header data (KOMK) the include provided is KOMKAZ
and to create the field in item data (KOMP) the include provided is KOMPAZ.
One possible example for the need of creating new fields can be e.g. Freight to be based upon transportation zone, for this no field is available in field catalog and hence it can be created in KOMK and then above userexits can be used to fill the transportation data to it.
    2) The other method of finding userexit is to find the word USEREXIT in the
associated program of the transaction for which we want to determine userexit using SE38.
    3) The other method of finding userexits is to find the include in case of SD/MM applications where the userexits are located, this can be found in the SAP reference IMG generally in the subfolder under SYSTEM MODIFICATION.
Some other examples of userexits in SD are:
    USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE
This userexit is used to assign a different internal document number to the
sales order(VA01) when it is created depending on some criteria like a different SALES ORGANIZAION(VKORG) .
    USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE
This userexit is used to insert the ABAP code which will be called when
the document (sales order VA01) is just about to be saved. This userexit is used generally for custom checks on different fields , to display some information before the order will be saved or for making changes to certain fields before the sales order will be saved.
    Exits & Enhancements
There are mainly six types of EXITs in sap which have been collected in the form of enhancement packages and attached to standard code in SAP.
These are different from USEREXIT in the way that they are implemented
in the form of FUNCTIONs while in USEREXITS we use form routines for their implementation. These are also sometimes known as function exits.
These start from the word EXIT_ followed by the program name and then followed by a three digit number.
    e.g. EXIT_SAPMV45A_002
This exit is found in SD in enhancement V45A0002.
    TYPES OF EXITS
    1) MENU EXITS
    2) FUNCTION EXITS
    3) TABLE EXITS
    4) SCREEN EXITS
    5) KEYWORD EXITS
    6) FIELD EXITS
We use SAP transactions CMOD and SMOD to manage exits. Before implementing an exit, it is required to create the project by using CMOD
selecting the enhancement e.g. V45A0002 and selecting the component
(one which fulfills our need) i.e. the exit which will be implemented in SMOD and after coding has been done the project has to be activated.
An exit can be coded only once.
    FUNCTION EXITS
These are used to add functionality through ABAP code. These start from the word EXIT_programname_NNN ending in a 3 digit number. No access code is required to implement any type of exit including function exits.
The function exits are called from the standard SAP program in the form
    of ABAP statement
    CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION 'NNN'
This is in contrast to USEREXITs where PERFORM statement is used to call
    the required userexit.
To implement the FUNCTION EXITs first of all the project is created and a suitable enhancement package is selected and from its components the function exit to be implemented is selected and on double clicking it the exit code will appear in ABAP EDITOR(se38) where a Z include will be found and the customer code should be entered in this include.
    e.g.
ADDING A DEFAULT SOLD-TO-PARTY in Sales Order Creation
To show a default sold-to-party in this field when the user creates a sales order (VA01) we can use a function exit .This function exit is located in enhancement no V45A0002 . Before we can choose the exit we have to create a project in CMOD after that enter V45A0002 in the enhancement field and click on the components. In the components you will see the exit EXIT_SAPMV45A_002. This exit is used for our purpose.
Double clicking on this exit will takes us to function builder (SE37) . This
function exit has one exporting parameters and two importing parameters, we are interested in exporting parameter which is E_KUNNR of type KNA1-KUNNR i.e. if we move the desired customer name to this structure(E_KUNNR) it will be shown in the field as the default value when we create the sales order. This function also contains a customer include ZXVVA04. This include will be used to write our custom code.
Double clicking on this include and it will prompt us that this include does not exists do you want to create this object, select yes and the include will be created .In this include we can write our own code that will fill the field E_KUNNR.
    e.g. E_KUNNR = 301.
Activate the include and Activate the project. Now when ever the SALES ORDER will be created, sold-to-party field will come up with a predefined customer.
    FIELD EXITS
The field exits are managed, created, activated through program RSMODPRF. The field exit is associated with a data element existing in ABAP dictionary and hence to the screen field using that data element.
The format of field exit is:
    FIELD_EXIT_dataelement_A-Z or 0-9
If a particular screen and program name is not specified than the field exit will effect all the screens containing that data element.
The function module associated with field exit shows two parameters
INPUT and OUTPUT. Input parameter contains the data passed to the field exit when the field exit was invoked by the R/3, we can write our own code to change the output parameter depending upon our requirements.
Before the field exit can have any effect the system profile parameter
ABAP/FIELDEXIT in all the application servers should be set to YES
    ABAP/FIELDEXIT = YES.
    TYPES OF USER EXITS
User exits are basically 4 types,
    1. Field exit,
    2. Menu Exit,
    3. Function module and
    4. Screen exit.
These exits we can use according to a situation...
    Please Reward If Really Helpful,
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Transparent logon to Oracle Portal for Win2000 users with Active Directory

At a customer site, users log on to a Win2000 Domain based upon MicroSoft's Active Directory.
They want to transparently (i.e.: without giving their credentials again) log on to Oracle Portal, in the same way as they could do with mod_ntlm if they were on a NT domain.
Oracle 9iAS (not yet decided whether v.1 or v.2) will be installed on a AIX based server.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?

    Hi,
the user cannot save private workbooksUnfortunately this is true. The workbook is saved with the database user so any workbooks saved by one user would be visible and could be changed by any user who shared the same database username. You could implement your own security over the EUL5_DOCUMENTS table by having a trigger to put the SYS_CONTEXT('userenv','client_identifier') into the doc_user_prop1 column and then create a VPD policy on the table that ensured users could only see their own workbooks. This is of course a un-supported change to the EUL tables.
the user to manage a database password too in order to use Discoverer Plus and create/save workbooksThis is not necessary.

No - there are no missing data, because nothing will be copied. The profile - folder does not work.

  • Devices no longer sync mailbox for specific user

I have an Exchange 2010 environment running ActiveSync. We have started to enroll devices using Xenmobile which pushes out a mailbox configuration for the users to connect to their mailbox. Everything is working fine with the exception of one user so far.
This user's prior iPhone was working fine and then stopped connecting with no apparent reason. He decided to buy a new iPhone 6 thinking that it would work and he would just ignore the issue on the old iPhone. The new iPhone is unable to sync as well. The
iPhone meets our compliancy checks by Xenmobile and when he is prompted to enter in his password for his Exchange (Windows) account, it appears to accept it just fine. However, mail is never synced. We can see that his device and user credentials are
connecting to ActiveSync in the IIS logs. We have tried disabling/enabling ActiveSync on his mailbox multiple times. I can see that a device is not showing up under his domain account within the ExchangeActiveSyncDevices container. I tried deleting the
container altogether and it is not recreated when he tries to connect. We also have verified that another user can enroll with his iPhone and receive mail just fine, so that rules out any issues with the device itself. It really narrows it down to this particular
user. The permissions on his domain account looked to be the same as everyone else. We are running out of ideas. We do not want to resort to recreating his mailbox since that will take quite a bit of work to backup and restore all of his mail. Any ideas are
    appreciated. Thanks.
Update: Using the Test-ActiveSyncConnectivity powershell cmdlet, I verified that his account is able to create an ExchangeActiveSyncDevices object for the Test object.
Update 2: I was told that this particular user is unable to sync his mailbox from another device that was tested from. This seems to point the issue to his mailbox configuration, but we don't know what else to look for other than trying to disabling/enabling
ActiveSync. I updated the thread title to reflect that it is not just his iPhone.

So I spoke with the Exchange admin working on the issue. He did not setup a test as I previously requested. He took Xenmobile out of the mix but still had the connection going through a Citrix Netscaler appliance, which everyone is going through.
They performed a new test by setting up the device to connect directly to the mail server and it worked; mail was able to sync. This tells us that the problem is with something being caught at the Netscaler. In addition to Xenmobile, the Netscaler
as its own connection policies that permit a device from even getting to Xenmobile. It must be getting dropped by that policy, even though the device worked for another user and no one else has reported any problems.
At this point, it must be an issue with the Netscaler, so there is no need for further investigation on the Exchange side. Thanks.

  • Change configuration of a user with another user

    Hi gurus,
I would like to know if it is possible to change the configuration of users with an admin user.
For example. I don't have the pass of user A. Meanwhile, I nedd to change the layout of an appraisal document, a specif portal configuration for that user. Is it possible to change that configuration with my user.
I asking this becausa I'm doing maintenance of SAP portals and some users don't give access to their accounts for privacy reasons. Do you have any ideia if it is possible?
My specific case is HCM. I need to change add an entry to a layout of an user but I can not access to his account. It may look nonsense, but sometimes it happens.
    Thanks and best regards.

    HI,
It is possible to change the configuration of users with an admin user.,as such only if  you have administrator rights. If u wan tto change the appraisal document with the specified user if suppose you are saying that user a is not there ,admin user can be used for editing the particular document ,where in all the information can be there with administrator .
