Does Oracle Portal Support text/v-card content Type

I would like to display some text/v-card format information (generated by servlet) within the portlet. And I defined in the porvider.xml something like this:
<renderer class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.RenderManager">
<contentType>text/x-vcard</contentType>
<showPage>/servlet/VCard2</showPage>
</renderer>
I was always get the error messages as "Renderer improperly configured. It's missing a showPagefor type".
please give me some suggestions on how to render the vcard content within the portal page.

Can you let us know the config.cfg entry in your Environment for SearchIndexerEngineName.
Is it SearchIndexerEngineName= DATABASE.ORACLETEXTSEARCH ? It should be as below
SearchIndexerEngineName=ORACLETEXTSEARCH

Oracle Portal Support

hi all
i am working on oracle portal, where i made form based on in which, I had about 104 In parameters to be passed while running procedure,but the problem is oracle portal gives me error like =>
(Error: An unexpected error occurred: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error (WWV-16016)
and the same procedure runs through sql by passing all parameters values.
So can anyone tell is there any restriction on the number of parameters to be passed through oracle portal

Does Version 10.1.2.0.2 of oracle portal support WSDL

I was able to deploy my JSR 168 portlet through OEM and not through JDeveloper and
other issue is that when I try to Register a Provider I don't see an option for
WSDL in the Implementation Style when registering a provider. I have Version 10.1.2.0.2
of oracle application server

You cannot save to Dropbox from Pages natively, but there is a workaround that allows you to use the Copy to WebDAV to get things to Dropbox:

As to the "Send to iTunes" command "not playing ball", if you'll post specifics, perhaps someone can help you sort that out. It should be pretty straightforward.

Using Struts with Oracle Portal

Hello,
I am trying to run my applications developed using Struts Framework in Oracle Portal.Though Oracle Portal uses jpdk api's is there any way I can try to integrate Struts with Oracle Portal so that I can work test my application on any server and then develop portlet and run them on Oracle Portal as well?

here is my code that i want to use

Is it possible for oracle portal to support such a query in a form?
Oracle portal supports single tables or views...master-detal...and forms based on procedures.
Since the above query associates with moro then one table..how might one create a form based on that query? Is their a way in oracle portal to create a form and have its record source be based on such a complex query and be able to update and insert data? I know and have tested that it works in Ms Access and i can update and add data in that above query. Hopefully oracle supports this. (*cross fingers*)
If i cant do what i said above...what advice or suggestions you guys have for me? If i use master-detail it won't work right because i need to involve all 5 tables.

When i made the above query a view and created an oracle portal form. I get this error when I try to retrieve all the records in that view i made above.

Oracle WebLogic Portal 10.3.6 Vs. Oracle Portal 11g

I have a basic question on the latest release. We have BEA (now Oracle) WebLogic Portal 9.2 and need to upgrade. Should we upgrade to Oracle WebLogic Portal 10.3.6 OR Oracle Portal 11g? Am I comparing the two correctly?

WebLogic Portal 10.3.6 is the last version of WLP, you can upgrade your application from 9.2 to 10.3.6 with tools provided by Oracle.
Oracle Portal 11g is a complete different product.

BEA vs. Oracle Portal

Were a BEA shop using BEA application server 8.x and currently evaluating Portal solutions, for the most part we have settled on BEA but Corporate has asked us to consider Oracle. I already have some competitive info from our BEA sales guy but I was hoping to get some insight from some of you that have had the pleasure of working with both tool sets. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Document Management System created with Oracle Portal

I am currently reponsible for creating a DMS with Oracle Portal 10.1.4. I want to know, are folders usually represented as Portlets or Page Items?

One more question. Our Oracle Portal system will be the "window" into several other applications, including Oracle Discoverer and external applications. The plan is that the functionality for the DMS should only be for the DMS. Because the DMS will have basic and advanced search functionality that should only search the DMS repository, do you suggest creating a separate Page Group for the DMS or one overarching one for the overall Portal and the DMS piece will have subpages? I'm not sure if development will be more complicated or simplistic with a individual DMS Page Group.

Version and Configuration Management in Oracle Portal

How is version and configuration management applied to real-life, large Oracle Portal applications, where e. g. both development, test, and production environments are used?
The build-in version management in Oracle Portal is inadequate for such environments.
Any suggestions, opinions, ... on this matter would be highly appreciated.

In my opinion, Portal has a lot of work to do in terms of configuration and change management. If you are using Portal as an application platform, as opposed to KM, you are better of developing java portlets, so that you can use the SCM with JDeveloper and stay away from the application components. If you do want to use the components, then application export/import is the only way. You can setup your own procedures for handling the exported files (version etc).
You don't really version KM apps. Content is meant to be posted and otherwise administered by content area admins and users. It is not a "application", that must be change managed. There are versioning features available at the item level, which is adequate (but by no means a complete versioning system. Use iFS if you want that).
I have heard quite a few horror stories about exporting and importing content areas.
A 3-system Portal landscape, in my opinon, is overkill and trying to fit an existing approach to a new tool. A test/dev and a production Portal might be more palatable to the IT budget.

The CSS does not have any specific Oracle Internet Directory (OID) Mibs or Oracle Portal , or directory Mibs per say. It does however comply to standard MIB II Mibs vendor extinctions to configure with SNMP.

At present, i think the best thing to do is to look at the example provided with the struts-faces integration taglib. I don't know any documentation about it.
