Orange Render Line???

What's the orange render line mean? I recently changed a couple of my settings for a new project and now when a clip needs rendering I see an orange line instead of the usual red one.

What's the orange render line mean?
It means you can SORT OF play back in real time.
You will see an approximation of the final product.
Option-P plays back the real deal but only as fast as your Mac can handle.

Possibly a corrupted render file (s). Are you having trouble editing or exporting? If so, turn off Background Rendering and try deleying project render files.

  • Orange render bar on native DV or DVCPRO HD footage in matching timelines

Okay, I've searching and calling people to figure this one out. I've captured DV footage, removed the pulldowns correctly to make it 24p, and I've used easy setup and checked my timeline settings. All correct and matching. So, why are the raw clips dropped onto the timeline presenting me with an orange render bar. This is happening with DVCPRO HD footage too. I don't remember this being an issue until updating to 5.1.3. I upgraded, so I have to downgrade to test my theory.
I have 5.0.4 still installed, so I tried it. Used XML to reopen project in 5.0.4, I have no such problems, no orange render line. What's the deal? Is 5.1.3-5.1.4 have to use core video or something that my graphic card in my old G4 tower can't handle?
Please somebody tell me this is happening to them too. It doesn't occur on my MacBook Pro, just my tower.
    PPC G4 1.4Ghz, 1.5Gig RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Sorry, I didn't mention all that I tried. I did dump the prefs, still no use. I'm trying to find 5.1.2 right now, see if it did it. I don't remember an issue under 5.1.1 either.
This is very frustrating because it's supposed to be running natively on the media that FCP runs natively. Even the old versions work better at this. Not a problem if you're on an Intel box with the new stuff. Seems like it's purposely crippled.

  • Choppy playback, when render line showing gray (niether green or red).

    Hello,
Initially the render line shows red and gray in some parts. When I render the movie the red sections do turn green, but the gray portions remain gray. Playback is fine while in the green areas, but stalls and becomes extremely choppy when passing over the gray areas (I've posted a phicture to help make my explaination a little clearer). Does anyone know a fix for this?
    Thanks,
    Nadine.

    Vid_2011
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
Without further information, there is nothing to fix. See explanation to follow.
The area of the Timeline over which the green line appears tells me that you
    (a) edited original video which presented with no color line and the edit forced the red line which you "rendered" to green.
    (b) Or, you had content that imported originally to present with the red line over the content and you rendered to green.
A video properties and project preset mismatch.
What are the properties of the Timeline over which your "gray" no colored line situation exists? At face value, they could be imported media that imported with no colored line over their contents, and you have not edited yet. Please detail the situation so we know the real situation.
    Just in case recap....
no colored line over Timeline content (only seen on first drag before edit of content) when native format and project preset is set to match the properties of the source media. The program is telling you that you have the best possible preview. So, no rendering is needed or possible. If you edit this type, the indicator line turns red and rendering/edits/rendering thereafter involve only red green changes, no more no colored line.
green line over Timeline...you have the best possible preview, no rendering is needed or possible.
in versions earlier than 11, red line indicates need for Timeline rendering to get the best possible preview. After the Timeline rendering, the red line turns green with all the implications stated above.
In versions 11 and 12, the red Timeline render indicator is no longer and now is an orange line.
Please review and consider and please get back to us with more details as to what is in the tracks below the render indicator lines.
    Thank you.

  • Riddle me this-. Orange Render bar for some clips

I hope my system isn't getting tired and old but I have never had a project where all the clips needs to be rendered. No effects applied or anything. I converted these clips to Apple Pro Res(LT) and I still need to render. When I convert my RED footage, it works fine. But not the MVI files. See picture on this link. The files have same codec, one needs to render but the other doesn't!
    http://www.redmoonlight.com/PictsOnWeb/OrangeRender.png
Thanks for you time or any solution you can give.
Things I did: Trash prefs, restart, video scope closed

    The orange render bar-
"Indicates effects that exceed your computer’s real-time playback capabilities but are enabled anyway because Unlimited RT is selected in the RT pop-up menu in the Timeline. Unlimited real-time playback lets you play more effects but increases the chances that your sequence will drop frames during playback. This mode is useful for getting a real-time preview of complex effects compositions." - form the manual.
I interpet that it mean it will playback withourt requiring rendering until you apply an effect.
One of your clips is set to "maximum" quality with a higher bitirate than the one set to "Normal" quality. Not sure if that is causeing it.

  • Red Timeline box. Not render line entire timeline box turns red

I ran into an issue on Premiere Pro cs3 after updating my mac to Mountain Lion. No issues until update. The entire timeline box turns red when I insert a video. Not the render line but the entire box turns completely red. anyone have any ideas?
I realize I need to update, I am a college student, but I do freelance for a nonprofit so I need this up and running as fast as I can.

That SEEMS like a case where your graphics driver needs to be updated... but NO way for anyone to tell without hardware information

I am currently using premiere cc and my sequences are not showing the yellow render line or opacity filter, it is only showing the FX indicator. • Light orange vertical lines after work area preview

    Problem:
I got this funny problem. When I render the work area I get some strange light orange lines when I playback the rendered video (see the attached image).
    Things I tried:
                   - Imported this video to an AVCHD 1080i sequence where I edited my full HD video before. After I rendere the work area, no lines everything is clear.
                   - On the other hand, when I paste the full HD video on DV - PAL sequence and render it, I get same bloody light orange lines as mentioned above.
Video: Widescreen 16:9, 720h 576v, 25 frames, .mpg. (taken from DV camera before)
    Sequence: DV - PAL Widescreen 16:9, 720h 576v, 25 frames
PC: Quad Core, ... enogh for this ****** video, have edited full HD on it without any problems...

No image seen in your post.  I'll take a guess anyway.  Nvidia card?
If so, go to the Nvidia Control Panel and set the 3D application setting to "Let the 3D application decide".
    Jeff
EDIT: I see the images now.  My fix should solve it.

  • PE8 wont render, line stays red!

Sorry, got another problem. When I hit the Enter key (or go thru Timeline, Render work area) the little render box pops up, it has a think, but the % stays at 0%, and when the box dissapears the line in the timeline is still red.. not green! Aaaahhh!

Please tell us more about your Assets - your source video Clips. The full specs. would be useful, along with the process that you used to get these onto your computer and then to Import them into PrE. If needed, G-Spot can give you all the file info.
Next, please tell us about the Project Preset chosen at the time you did New Project. Does this match your Assets 100%?
Last, how much defragmented free space do you have on your HDD? How is your HDD formatted, FAT-32, or NTSF? Render files can be pretty large.
    Good luck,

  • Random Render Line Glitch in AE CS6

    Hey Adobe Community!
Although I have been quite happy with After Effects CS6, I have been running into some render glitches which are giving me real problems (whether CS6 is the culprit or not I don't know). On a number of jobs I am currently working on, the renders out of AE have strange bars that appear for about one frame at random times throughout the rendered clip. I can't find any pattern to the timecode or the screen location when they appear. Take a look below at the two pictures below for examples.
Quick note: This problem appears to be similar in some respects to the issue in this discussion (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4409423#4409423). Just thought I would post it for reference.
    #1
    #2
Here is some information about the two clips.
    Clip for picture #1
Time: 2:06 (two seconds and six frames)
    Output: Quicktime
    Compression: None
Composition: There is 1 mask and some motion tracking
    Clip for picture #2
    Time: 20:06
    Output: Quicktime
    Compression: None
Composition: Utilizing the "Warp Stabilizer" in order to smooth camera movement.
This is obviously a problem that cannot continue since AE is a huge part of my work. I really appreciate any insight you can provide on this problem.
I know I have probably left out information that you would like, so if there are any questions please feel free to ask.
    Thanks!
    -Barrett

Premiere and AE should be able to handle H.264 clips directly out of the 5D and 7D without transcoding, but if you're still working with the original aquisition codec after switching to another program in the pipeline then that might be the problem.  In that case, you might be forced to transcode your entire Premiere project to another lossless production codec using AME, which will give you the same quality as any other lossless codec.  This is actually a step that a lot of editors take before doing anything with their footage, if they know it's going to go through several programs down the line.  And if I understand correctly, Uncompressed QTs and high quality PNG QTs are both actually compressed.  However, they are compressed with lossless formats.  As Szalam said the QT PNG codec is the same quality as an Uncompressed QT, although I'd also suggest Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) if you have it.  Uncompressed 10 bit, Uncompressed 8 bit and Animation are lossless, but the file sizes will be huge.  If you have Black Magic you could also try that.

  • Everything pixelated after rendering + purple render line

    Hello,
Before I render, all my photos, video and Boris 3D slides look perfect. After I render, everything is pixelated in squares and there's a purple line at the top of my sequence. After I export the sequence as a Quicktime movie, everything is still pixelated in little squares. There are post-rendering screen shots below so you can see what I mean.
I've checked all my settings and everything appears to be correct. Here's what I've done so far:
    - All video footage shot on Canon 5D Mark II at 29.97 and converted to Apple XDCAM EX 1080p30 (35Mb/s VBR) clips
    - All photographs shot with same camera. Kept as JPGs.
    - Sequence settings are:
              Frame size - 1920 x 1080 HDTV1080i 16:9
              Pixel Aspect Ratio - Square
              Unchecked Anamorphic 16:9 box
              Field dominance - None
              Editing timebase - 29.97
              Compressor - XDCAM EX 1080p30 (35Mb/s VBR)
              Quality - 100%
              Audio rate - 48Khz
              Depth - 16 bit
              Config - Channel grouped
In this same project, I have a few sequences of video interviews synced with an external audio source, and those sequences look perfectly fine until I add Boris 3D text or regular text over them.
Does anyone know what's happening and how I can fix this? I've read other forum Q&As and can't find an answer.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello again.
I converted several clips to Pro Res 422 (LT) and changed all my FCP settings to match. I started a new project, opened a new sequence, and when I dragged a newly-converted clip onto the timeline, this message popped up:
For best performance your sequence and external video should be set to the format of the clip you are editing.
Whether I hit yes or no, the footage looks beautiful on the timeline. But as soon as I add text, in both situations (yes, change sequence settings; no, don't change sequence settings) the footage and the text are pixelated, per the images I posted above.
I'm no FCP newbie but now that I think about it, I get this message quite a bit when editing. So where am I going wrong? For this most recent batch of clips, I converted in MPEG streamclip with these settings:
              Apple Pro Res 422 (LT)
              100% Quality
              Sound: Uncompressed, stereo, auto
              Frame rate: Left blank
              Frame size 1920 x 1080 (unscaled)
Nothing checked under "Deselect for progressive movies:"
              Field dominance: Upper field first
              All other fields at presets
Now here are my FCP settings:
    Sequence settings:
              Frame size: 1920 x 1080 (HDTV 1080i 16:9)
              Pixel aspect ratio: Square
              Unchecked box for Anamorphic 16:9
              Field dominance: None
              Editing timebase: 29.97
Compressor: Apple Pro Res 422 (LT)
              Quality: 100%
              Audio: 48Khz, 16-bit, Channel grouped
    Easy Setup & Audio/Video Settings:
              Sequence preset - Apple Pro Res 422 (LT) 1920x1080 30p 48 Khz
              Capture preset - HDV
Where am I going wrong? I'm so confused.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Orange Enhanced Line 2 on 8320

I purchased an 8320 through Orange earlier this year with Enhanced Line 2, explicitly on the understanding that it supported Enhanced Line 2 and that, as the Orange website states "..You have separate numbers, ringtones and Answer phone messages for each line. So you'll know instantly whether it's a business or a personal call."
However there isn't anything I can find on the phone which helps differentiate whether the call is being received by one line or another. Am I answering a business or personal call? Getting Enhanced Line 2 was supposed to help. All I can do is toggle between Line 1 and Line 2 to make outgoing calls. I cannot set up different profiles with different ringtones to help. Has anyone had this problem, and is there a solution?
    Otherwise I have been sold a phone/service which doesn't do what I asked for : (

You're quoting the description of Orange Line 2:
    Service description
However, "Enhanced Line 2" (Service description) is an entirely
    different service.
As I mentioned earlier, it acts rather as two simcards in an dualsim
adapter with one card beeing forwarded to the other.
As you in fact only have one line active at a time, there is no way
to distinguish between Line 1 and Line 2 for incomming calls.
Furthermore, to switch phone lines, you will have to use a simtoolkit
menu (as for dualsim adapters). Its not possible to switch using the
    genuine phone menu.
The regular Orange Line 2 service is a GSM service which implents
a second line on the network, not on the sim. Therefore, given the phone
support ALS (Alternate Line Service), you can switch using the genuine
phone menus and choose different ringing tones for the lines. However,
as far as I know, using ALS while roaming is not possible, nor is it
possible to activate data or send SMS on the second line.
Personal, I would always choose Line2 to enhanced Line2, as for me
distinguishing incoming calls is most important, as it is for you.
You have to ask orange to switch your service.

  • Blue render lines won't disappear

    Hey guys,
The main issue is transitions, speed and filters refusing to render properly. They do 'render', however, once the footage is played back it is very pixelated at the points where i have added transitions or adjusted speed etc. I am working with .mov files. I have individually ticked all the boxes from the sequence menu and exported it to its final destination and it still looks the same.
    Hope someone can help,
    All the best,
    Des

You can't really use MPEG 4 in Final Cut Pro without loads of hassle. It is not a supported editing format.
Where does the source material come from?
If it is from a camera, you would typically use the Log and transfer window to bring in your footage and transcode to ProRes or Apple Intermediate codec.
If the files came from elsewhere, you would use Compressor to convert them to a format such as those listed in the FCP Easy Setup menu.

  • Reducing the red render lines?

Every time I move my still image on the timeline it wants to re-render the whole lot.
This is making my workflow very slow.
I apply a few filters and keyframes to it and I think thats why FC wants to completely re-render every time.
Is there a way of getting around the need to re-render the whole time (eg: some kind of low-quality playback or something?)
I know OPTION+P will take you frame by frame without the need to render but it knocks the sound off which is unhelpful for me.
Seems like everything still/video clip that has a filter needs to be re-rendered if it moves a feather anywhere. :s
    Help!

No setting within FCP will allow it to take advantage of more than 4GB of RAM. FCP is still a 32bit application and that's the limit (2.5GB for the program and 1.5GB for OSX and frameworks).
If you are looking to optimize FCP, use the extra ram to run Adobe Acrobat and spend some time reading the manual. It is well written and offers a good overview of the system and how to set it up.
    Good luck.
