Order number, order type combination is unique.

Dear All,
I am getting the following error, while creating a Sales Order:
Order number, order type combination is unique. Order number generated by the sequence for this order type already exists. Please contact your System Administrator.
Is this a problem with the sequences.
How can I rectify this error..?
Please update...
Many thanks in advance.....

Hi santark,
It looks like the sequence for that order type is generating a value that has already been used by another sales order of the same type. You can check what is the current value of the sequence going to Setup > Documents > Define, and search for Order Management and your order type. You can verify which is the maximum value for the sales orders of that transaction type already in the system by executing a query similar to this:
SELECT max(order_number) FROM oe_order_headers_all WHERE order_type_id <your sales order type id>
You should change the sequence initial value to a number higher than the max order number returned in the previous query.
You can find the relationtship between order type names and order type ids in view oe_transaction_types_vl.
Hope it helps.
Regards.

  • Migrate Open items - Sales orders/ purchase orders and unbilled deliveries

    Hello All
Can you please tell me the best practice to migrate open sales orders, purchase orders and deliveries due for billing at Cutover to the new system?
Also how can the historical data be migrated? What all comes under historical data?
    Many Thanks
    CM

The way the sales order data is migrated is largely dependent on the number of orders you are intending to migrate. 'Best practice' would suggest you do the following:
    1) Do not migrate any completed orders (they should be kept as 'read only' in the legacy system)
    2) Get the business to close as many orders as possible before the cutover
    3) Stop entry of any new orders during the cutover the period - hold them back and enter them directly into SAP.
Once you have a manageable numebr of orders to migrate you really have two options:
Upload the basic order into SAP (we have usually done this from a spreadsheet using ALE or some similar tool). The basic data is confirmed to order type, order number, order date, customer number, material code and quantity. Any data in addition to this is then added manually to the system by the users e.g. pricing info (this is really important as pricing data is really difficult to map). To do this you will need to have sequenced this correctly e.g. ensuring that the data and config for both the materials and customers are all already in the system before you load the orders.
The second option would be to load them all completely manually - which is why I said at the beginning that really, the best approach is determined by the quantity of orders you need to migrate.
I am sure other people will have used other methods but these two are the ones we usually use.
(edit) P.S. you must remember that 'open' sales orders are any orders that are not yet billed so even if an order is delivered in your legacy system if it has not been invoiced you MAY need to migrate it. But as I metioned at the beginning - it would really be better to complete that order (i.e. bill it) before you close the legacy system so that it does not need to be migrated.
    ========
For deliveries - again, there is no simple fix for this. Because the migration of a delivery demands the migration of an open sales order, the best approach is probably to load the sales order basic data, get the users to complete the sales orders (as described above) and then run the delivery due lists or manually and individually deliver each sales order item.
You cannot migrate ONLY the deliveries, you need to migrate the preceeding order(s) as well. But, again, if you take the approach of closing as many as possible in the legacy system, it will be much easier than migrating them.

What should I do?

You can view and edit your orders without an Apple ID by logging in with your order number, along with the shipping zip code or email address.
I copied the text posted above from this website.
    http://store.apple.com/us/help/viewing_changing_orders
Click or tap on the Order Status link here and you should be able to type in the order number and your zip code.
To view or edit your Apple Online Store order, visit online Order Status and log in with your Apple ID and password.

  • No Order number in QMEL table for Q3 notification type

    Hi All,
I am new to QM part, and trying to understand concepts here.
a notifcation got created for a internal problem encountered in Production process. Notifcation type Q3, Order number, Operation Number and othere required data was maintained.
But when I look into QMEL table AUFNR field is blank. Is this a standard behaviour ?
Actually this information is required in Custom report-->The link between Notifcation number and Order number. Is there a different way of fetcheing this information.
**please note that no inspection lot is created here.
    Regards,
    Avinash

    Hello Avinash,
In QMEL; AUFNR is Maintenance Order number, Usually used in PM notifications.
You can use QMEL- FERTAUFNR : Prod. Order field to get link between Notification and Order.
    (CO_AUFNR = QM Order.)

  • Different Production order number ranges with same order type

    Dear Friends,
I am working on live project implementation.I am having four manufacturing plants.I am having one order type say PPLE, I am having two different versions say CM and CN.Now my requirement is can I maintain  two different number ranges for same order types within single plant .
    number ranges should be like,
    Plant          Version     Number ranges
    1210            CM           CM121008...
    1210            CN            CN121008
    1220            CM           CM121008
    1220             CN           CN121008
and so on.here first two digit should be version, then plant and year followed by order number .
    Regards,
    Manoj Jadhav

    Hi manoj,
You cant have two different number ranges for an order type in internal number range, but in external number range you can have two diffrent number ranges
for example for one order you can start with CM1210080001 and other starting from CN1210080001.
Just convince the client to have external number range

  • Fetch Sales Order number VBELN from Purchase requisition number BANFN

    Hi,
I'm not able to find a suitable method to fetch the sales order number(VBELN) from the purchase requisition number(BANFN).
I tried using VBEP table to fetch the data, but it is giving serious performance issues, as in for fetching one record it is taking approx 20 seconds!!!
Kindly suggest a suitable method for this.
I've used the query as folllows:
    select single vbeln banfn
    from vbep
    into (wa_vbep-vbeln, wa_vbep-banfn)
    where banfn eq wa_eban_zdd1_x-banfn.
where: wa_vbep is the workarea having two fields vbeln and banfn, and wa_eban_zdd1_x-banfn is the reference preq number.
    Scenario in brief described below:
Whenever a direct delivery sales order is created on a supply chain plant, a dummy purchase requisition without source of supply is created automatically at preferred supplying plant for the customer in the sales order. Direct Delivery Sales Orders which are still in Open status and for the associated dummy purchase requisitions with these sales order, the deletion flag set has to be unchecked.
in this case, only one sales order is created corresponding to a preq..
BAPI: BAPI_PR_GETDETAIL is not giving entries for the table as this is a special case of direct delivery from the production plant directly to the customer, bypassing the warehouse / distribution center...
selection screen has input fields preq, matnr(product) and plant. we fetch entries depending on the data filled in selection screen and also they should be of document type(BSART in EBAN table) ZDD1 and deletion indicator is set(LOEKZ in EBAN).
then we check if the sales order corresponding to the preq is in open status...
for this i need to programmatically fetch the sales order number corresponding to the preq...
this is causing a performance issue as i could find only one way -- fetching sales order number from VBEP table corresponding to BANFN... indexing for easier also didnt work...
no other way i could find to fetch sales order number corresponding to the preq number....
there is a bapi: BAPI_PR_GETDETAIL, but this is not fetching entries to the changing tables related to sales order...
also EBKN table doesnt have any entries as this is a special case of direct delivery preq..
Guess i couldnt find anyother way...
    Thanks.

I'm not sure as to why the select query was still throwing performance issues. I could see that the index had been created on only BANFN in the DB. Prior to creating the index, it was taking approx 20 seconds per entry, but after creating the index, it took 13seconds approx.
I used the select query as follows:
    select single vbeln banfn
    from vbep
    into (wa_vbep-vbeln, wa_vbep-banfn)
    where banfn eq wa_eban_zdd1_x-banfn.
where: wa_vbep is the workarea having two fields vbeln and banfn, and wa_eban_zdd1_x-banfn is the reference preq number.
I tried a few other combinations also, but  those also didnt work effectively:
    select vbeln banfn
    from vbep
    into (wa_vbep-vbeln, wa_vbep-banfn)
    where banfn eq wa_eban_zdd1_x-banfn.
without using SINGLE in the select query as the select query would implicitly pickup only a single record,
    select vbeln banfn
    from vbep
    into wa_vbep
    where banfn eq wa_eban_zdd1_x-banfn.
and another query where the INTO statement was directed directly to a workarea.
But unfortunately, nothing seemed to be working.
The index i had created was on BANFN alone in the VBEP table.

  • Sales order number in process order

    Hello gurus,
Is it not possible to have  a particular sales order consume a PIR  and have that sales order number reflected in the process order (The process ord which is converted from the plnd order which is a result of MRP run after sales order consumes PIR)...
    Thanks and regards

    Dear,
If your material has strategy type as MTS then its not possible to allocate the PIR to a particular Sales Order in the Process Order, Sales Order can be included in planning by combining strategies but having a link is quite difficult.
    Thanks & Regards,

Any ideas , if you think its a bug can u identify the bug id as I cannot find it .

    Hello
I can see that you use ascending , that why you hit 1st channel. You have to choose one of these commands ascending or descending
I have a question here , for your incoming calls which channel hits ?.FYI isdn bchan-number-order descending is enable by default , so if you need to change you have to type ascending. Can you just share incoming calls which channel hits?.This is because before you define your outgoing calls , you have to check your service provider channel used, and this to avoid error channel is not available.
    Command
    Router(config-if)# isdn bchan-number-order {ascending | descending}
    Purpose
Enables B channel selection for outgoing calls on a PRI interface (optional).

  • Sales order number in customer line item

    Hi All,
we have a requirement whereby we need to get the sales order number in the customer line item. Normally, the sales order number is populated in the GL line item (BSEG - VBEL2). We need to copy the sales order number to the customer line item.
Can anyone let me know if you have worked on such requirement.
    Thanks in advance!!
    Aman Goel

You can map Sales Order number to either 'Assignment' or 'Reference' fields in accounting document using Copy control function in SD. Please use transaction VTFA, this needs to be maintained for combinations of billing type and sales document type. Please ensure these fields are not currently used in your system for other information.
Following fields can be mapped to 'Assignment' or 'Reference'.
    A Purchase order number
    B Sales order number
    C Delivery number
    D External delivery number
    E Current billing document number
F External delivery no. if available, otherwise delivery no.
If you currently use 'Assignment' or 'Reference' fields for other details, you can use user exit EXIT_SAPLV60B_008.

  • Customer Sales Order number & Customer PO number

    Hi experts,
We are doing third party sales. So once we create Customer Sales Orders manually via VA01, users also manually create Purchase Req for it.
We do not automatically create PR from Sales Order, as this is not my clients requirement. So we don't use item category group BANS in the material master.
In the item level in the PR under the Contact Person tab, the creation indicator shows "V Sales & distribution document".  Once PR is created this updates the PR number under the item level Schedule lines in the Sales Order.
After PR creation, we run a job to create PO's.
But the new requirement from the client is to automate this PO creation thru EDI.
Our SAP is 4.6C & the Idoc type we use is ORDERS05 & Message Type is ORDERS. We are using EDIFACT std.
Once I get the idoc xml file for this PO, I find that my Customer PO number (from the Sales Order) & also the Customer Sales Order number is not copying to the xml output.
Please advise what needs to be done inorder to have it.
This will be great help & I will reward for the answers !
    Rgds,
    Pri

    Hi,
In VOV8 you can only Check whether the purchase order number already exists or not.
If you want to do any other check like you said based on customer & PO number combination then follow steps below:
    Ask your ABAPER to
1: Create a Z-table where you can store the required Customer No & PO No combinations.
2: Write a code to check the PO no & Customer No entered in Sales order with the entries in the Z-table & throw an error if there is no match.
This code needs to be written in the User exit Save_document_prepare by your ABAPER.
3: This will work at time of Save & not a point of entry. The result will be same "error msg will be thrown"
    regards
