I am working in an implementation project and Organisational Management is new for me.
I have received the om template like org unit,position & reporting structure from client.
can any body suggest me  how to proceed.

    Dear Friends,
    My client is going ahead for Training and Event Managment Implementation. They have a basic requirement to start with and that is :
    1) They have done competency mapping for all its employees and they want that the competencies of each employees(along with the skill levels) to be recorded in the system and that has to be the starting point of using Training and Event Management module.
    2) They want, if the competencies can flow based on Job/ Position.
    3) Some identifier to the competencies, whther it has flowed from Appraisal or any other sources in the Final Training Needs.
    Kindly provide me help, as to how I will be able to achieve that and in what Infotypes the data pertaining to Training and Event Managment will be stored.
    If u all can kindly share with me the User Manuals and Configuration Docs of Training and Event Management, it will be of great help.

    Competencies can be stored as qualifications in PD and then by activation of PD PA intergration can be seen from pa30 infotype 24.
    Qualifications can be stored against a Job/Position and are called as the Requirements. They are seen as a separate Tab and to which ever position the person is linked to the corresponding qualifications of the position will appear in the requirements tab.
    You can maintain the proficiency and a note along with the qualification when assigned to a person.
    Also Appraisals can have qualifications in the template rather than criteria and criteria groups.
    Also after training is completed during the follow up we can create an appraisal and transfer the qualifications or simply transfer the qualifications to the employee.

    As previously mentioned, there isn't any books about Strategy Management implementation. There are three areas that seem to get the most attention, but as SSM is changing in features, functionality and connectivity, it's moving faster than anything that could be published. The best documentation on implementation of SSM is the guides available on the Service Marketplace. These are regularly updated, so you always have access to the latest information.
    1) PAS - You build your multi-dimensional models in PAS. PAS has some amazing flexibility, especially how it handles time. Understanding how to use PAS seems to be a big challenge - as you can tell by the many questions on the Forum regarding models. There is no published book on PAS that I know of and even the PAS training in the SAP Education class is aimed as an overview. My suggestion here is at the very least try to take a SAP Education class on SSM that includes PAS training.
    2) Connectivity with SAP BW - Because of some fundamental differences between how PAS and BW deal with data, there is a tool - called the BICA - that SSM uses to harmonize BW and SSM data. There is a paper available on the EPM BPX on best practices with BICA.
    3) Wrangling KPIs - Strategy Management is about focusing on the essential areas of a business. Since this is YOUR business, your strategic objectives will be necessarily different - how else can you differentiate your products or services if you are doing everything the same as your competitors? This is not a situation of seeming how many more measures you can include, it's is trying to focus on doing those things that really are going to be game-changers for your organization.
    This business side aspect of Strategy Management is actually the area that will show the most success - and ROI - in the organization, although the typical focus is on the technical aspects of the application. Strategy Management continues to change the application to help address the different ways that people construct their organizational strategy and how they communicate it as well as monitor it. Do not underestimate the importance of the business side of this application.
    All three of these areas really strongly recommend Consulting Services. There are both SAP and 3rd Party consultants available for these areas. Why should you spend the money on a consultant?
    A) You will get implemented and running more quickly - less delays, less problems, more success. I have witnessed several projects where the organization wanted to DIY and faltered because there was no expertise on the team. Projects these days HAVE to be successful -right out of the gate - so get experienced help.
    B) Knowledge Transfer - There aren't any books and your boss isn't going to pay for a 5 day offsite training course. Bring in a consultant and work with them to learn what they do, how they do it, so you can become self-sufficient. It's much easier to build a consultant into a project budget than training. Although training is essential, I just never understand why executives neglect this important area.
    C) Personalized Help - The needs you have for your implementation and successful operation are going to be unique because it's going to revolve around your current technical architectural, your company's practices, as well as the structure of your organization. Having a consultant allows you to better use your time and the project's time by focusing on the needed areas and getting through the typical bumps that always accompany a new program's rollout.
    I am NOT a consultant, so I have no alterior motives. I DO want organizations to be successful with SSM implementations and from what I have witnessed the difference between success and merely muddling through is how willing the organization is to bring in either a SAP consultant or work with a knowledgable 3rd party consultant.

  • Org managament -Cost Center- Position

    Hi Experts,
    There is  a clarification required, I am creating Jobs,Positions from 01.01.1900 upto 31.12.9999 and the FI consultant has created his Cost centers mentioning the date as 01.04.2009. As se says that I need to mantain the cost center creation dates only 1 year prior to GO-LIVE date.
    Now the problem is when I am creating one of the Positions in the Account Assignment tab details and its Cost distribution tab in Org Managment with PPOCE transaction, by assigning the positions relevent Cost Center where he falls to....the system throws and error stating that Cost Center not maintained on 01.01.1900 as it is the matter of that cost centers have been created only from 01.04.2009.
    So, now can any of you let me know how myself and FI consultant need to resolve this issue?

    So, I would go ahead and create Jobs & Positions according to Cost Center dates. Can you please clarify me with one thing is
    Now If I create the Jobs & Position of the date from which Cost Centers have been created in my case 01.04.2009, will I be able to hire an employee with the created Jobs & Positions with previous date like for example an employee is working with Organization from 01.01.2003 till date as when I do hiringaction, system asks me for joining date, so mentioning his joinning date as 01.01.2003 and maintain all the Org data with Account Assignment, Cost Distribution as per the relevent dates.

  • Custom Infotype for Org Management

    Hi Experts,
    I Iam trying to create custom infotype to capture some infomation on an Org Management custom object and I am not sure if I can do this through PM01 because this is neither employee or applicant info but custom object info. Any idea on how to do this?

    Hi,
    For creating OM custom infotype you should start with transaction SE11.  PM01 is only for employee and applicant IT.
    Go to SE11Create structure Ex:HRI9009 Create all necessary datatypes. (fields for your IT).
    Then go to PPCI enter IT name and number. then maintain Table T77I here maintain time constraint for your IT.

    Hi All,
    Can you suggest me how to edit the Infotype screen of Org Management Infotype 1000.
    Requirement is to restrict the Org unit abbrevation without blank spaces.

    If you are talking about Org unit abbreviation, this can be done in any of the interfaces in Org Mgmt.
    For example, you can do it in Simple Maintenance, select the org unit and rename it whether abbreviation or name of the org unit.

    My first question is  regarding maintaing org management relation ships .How we maintain relation ships between persons(s) in development system coz there will be no data available  in development system.????
    My second question is ,For example I  created org unit A ,Org Unit B ,i assigned a position sr clerk to org unit A and sr Clerk to Org unit B. .Now my question is position  in org unit B should  reports to  position in  org unit  A..and .how their relation ships are  maintained????

    as per my requirement I created a role as Pharmacy by coping Hospital and I assigned the views in BUSD ( dataset,BP View -> Calling Applications,BP View ->Screen Sequences,BP View -> Views). Still when I m going to field grouping in spro,cac and field grouping it is throwing a message as System unable to determine any relevant views. Can any body suggest me where i did wrong.

  • Default Relationships in Org Management

    Hello All...
    I am having a big issue with the defaults of Org Management relationships.  For some reason, our installation does NOT allow me to automatically create positions dependent on other positions...like 'is supervised by' relationship between positions.  I have tried creating manually, and have checked the IMG for 'allowed relationships' and it shows that a position to position relationship of 'is supervisor of' is available.  Any and all help much appreciated...I can't figure out how to automatically do this.

    In the ECC6 system I am working with at the moment, it doesn't work that way either.  In PPOME I can create a new position from an Org Unit, but not from another position.
    Must admit, I have never tried to do that in this or older releases before though.  We tend to mostly use Chief positions, so any new positions are just created in the Org Unit and automatically report to the Chief.
    I did notice that if I created a new position in PPOME then added the "Reports To" relationship manually (via Go To > Detail object > Enhanced object description), any copies of the positon that I subsequently made in PPOME also got the same "Reports To" relationship created automatically.

  • CIC Profile and Org Management

    We are currently upgrading from R/3 4.7 to ECC 6.
    Since upgrading our test client, the cic profile does not appear to be called when going to transaction CIC0 - Customer Interaction Center.
    We are using Org Management and have cic profiles (infotype 1260) assigned to each position. We also have a person tied to each position and the employee's system username is tied to that person (personnel no.) in inftotype 0105 - subtype 0001.
    It seems like we are missing something between the personnel number and the position - as if it's not picking up the username when an employee goes to t-code CIC0. It is now using the defautl profile (000001) instead of the one we have specified on the position.
    Any feedback/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Firstly post ur queries in a separate thread.
    Now to answer ur query i.e. how do u come the context (created/updated/ transaction type etc). Whenver a BADI is called like for eg. CRM_ORDERADM_H_BADI, it will have an import parameter iv_guid, which holds the header guid of the transaction. Taking this header guid, call FM CRM_ORDER_READ, pass this guid. You can fetch all the information of the transaction which is opened or being edited or created, what is the transaction type.
    The complete information of the transaction can be fetched on just passing the header guid to the mentioned function module.

    PA infotype will create in PM01  everything we need fill from PM01.
    OM infotype
    :- 1. we need to create HRI9XXX  structure.
       2. PPCJ t-code  u can create from this t-code.
    PA INFOTYPE CREATION
    1) Go to Transaction PM01.
    2) Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create (Should be a 4 digit number, start with 9).
    3) Select the `Employee Infotype' radio button.
    4) Select the `PS Structure Infotype'.
    5) Click on Create. A separate table maintenance window appears.
    6) Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the Infotype
    7) Save and Activate the PS structure
    8) Go back to the initial screen of PM01.
    9) Click on `All' push button. It takes a few moments.
    10) Click on `Technical Characteristics' . Infotype list screen appears
    11) Click on `Change'(pencil) button
    12) Select your Infotype and click on `Detail' (magnifying glass) button
    13) Give `T591A' as subtype table
    14) Give `T591S' as subtype txt tab
    15) Give your subtype field as subtype field
    16) Save and come back to PM01 initial screen
    17) Click on `Infotype Characteristics' . Infotype list screen appears
    18) Click on `Change' (pencil) button
    19) Click on `New Entries'
    20) Enter your Infotype number and short text
    21) Here we have to set different Infotype Characteristics as per the requirement. (Better open another session with some standard Infotype's infotype characteristics screen and use as the reference to fill yours)
    22) Save your entries.
    23) Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
    24) If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your requirement.
    25) In the PM01 initial screen.Select `Screen' radio button and give 2000 as the screen name, then click on edit.
    26) In the next screen.. Select `Layout Editor' and click `Change'.
    27) Screen default layout appears.here you can design/modify the screen.. change the attributes of the fields. etc.
    28) Save and activate. (Don't forget to `Activate at every level)

    Im doing implementation of funds management implementation in 4.7 in middle of the fiscal year.
    I wanted to know if we implement FM in middle of the year what are the implications because as suggested by SAP ...its not recommended to implement FM in middle of the yr.
    How to treate the existing data in the system?In both the cases like if client want old data or not to use.
    I came to know some data conversion is required to be done but im new to Funds management so wanted to know that tequnique also.

    Hi Deepa,
    You can implement the funds management in the middle of the year, but many suggets that, if it implemented at the beginning year there is problem.
    Still you can implement as said by Eli.
    1. You need to activate the "public services"
    2. Make the required customizing settings like FM area, budget structure, tolerence profile and actual data settings
    3. Run the programs to convert the old data into funds management by using the programs FMCN and FMCH
    4. First it will take the PRs then POs and then accounting documents
    5. Then check the report for budget consumption and account assignment elements
    Finally I can say that, if you take some risk it is possible in the mid year and you will get very good knowledge once this process is completed successfully
