Outbound mta only

I setup one outbound mta only and I connected it to our ldap server. For some reasons, I don't want email send thru this mta server to accept local email. I want it to follow mx record rule. How can I do that? I don't really want to made this server as a standalone server.

ok i'll just tell you the situation..
one domain configured on system. there are 10 users on the domain. all users are using this outbound mta. this domain mx record is pointing somewhere else because of anti-spam service. so all mails send to the domain suppose to go to the anti-service server first then forward the email to incoming server of the JES system.
but since all 10 users are using an mta which is part of the system, every time a users send email to another user on the same domain it takes the email as local email because it is.
my problem is the email is not going thru the anti spam server compare other emails send by a server not part of the system.
that is why I'm asking can I configure the mta to force the server follow the mx record rules or not have a "local.ugldaphost" entry.
My only option I can think of is to build this mta server as standalone server which I'm trying to avoid.

  • 485 Ambiguous - Outbound Calls Only

I'm having some issues with the 485 Ambigous Error, but on Outbound calls only.  I've read several blog posts and was able to solve this issue for incoming calls, but have yet to find a solution for outbound calls.
I have two phone numbers: XXX-XXX-5232 and XXX-XXX-3081.  All of my users are configured in Lync with +1XXXXXX5232;ext=XXXXX
XXX-XXX-5232 is set to normalize to +1XXXXXX5232;ext=53999 which is a Lync User that is setup with Team Call to ring multiple other extensions.  I'm not aware of any AutoAttendant or Response group that is configured with just +1XXXXXX5232.
Again, inbound calling is working just fine and outbound calls work as expected, they just report the 485 Ambiguous for each call.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Yes, the call is routed to the Gateway.  In fact, the call completes successfully.  Here is the trace.  Hopefully it will be readable:

  • Is there any specific docs for using iPlanet v5.1 as MTA only rather than as a MTA/IMAP server?

We currently use PMDF on a couple of dedicated boxes as MTA's for our site. Licensing for iPlanet v5 is a little more favorable and a number of the former PMDF developers now work for iPlanet/Sun and these folks were great to work with. I'm reading the admin guide right now but am curious if there is more out there? Or if anyone is doing what I'm looking at doing?
    al

There aren't any documents for installing the MTA portion of IMS only. In fact, out of the box, you can't install just the MTA in IMS 5.1. It may be possible in IMS 5.2.
Currently, you have to install the MTA and the store (which you can later disable). Then you have to configure your mapping and dirsync and so on for the MTA.
MTA configuration isn't drastically different in IMS (though I'm not familiar with SIMS or PMDF previous to IMS) so you will probably feel very comfortable with it after a read through the Admin Guide and the Reference Guide.
If you have a specific question about something in the process, someone could probably provide a little more detail.

This is a normal practice in business. VF04 is used and and a batch job is created which runs on specific date/time and creates Invoices for deliveries which are PGI'd already.
You can also set a batch job with a particular variant to run in background, and this will meet your clients needs.
SAPBILLDL is the program behind VF04. This program will first list down all the deliveries meeting the Variant conditions,  and which are PGI'd and are ready to bill. Invoices will be created in the background.

  • Multiple-MTA configuration

    Hello,
I'm developing a deployment plan using Messaging Server 6.2. I'm seeking some advice on the configuration of the MTA machines.
An analysis of our future traffic volume indicates that we need 2 inbound MTAs and 2 outbound MTAs.
What are the pros and cons for the following two options:
    a) 2 servers dedicated as inbound and 2 dedicated as outbound
    b) 4 servers as inbound and outbound.
For high-availability considerations, it seems that if you lost a single server in option a, you would lose 50% of the capacity on either the inbound or outbound direction. But if you lost a single server in option b, you would only lose 25% of the capacity but in both the in and out directions.
Are there other considerations that would influence the choice between a or b, such as difficulty (or impossibility) of configuring and administering?
Has anyone actually implemented option b and what is their opinion of the procedure?
    Regards,

Yes, thank you for your comments and I agree.
My question stems from the nature of our expected
mail traffic. In addition to the typical in/out
messages from users, we have a large mail list that
absolutely, positively must be sent out within a few
minutes. Most of the time, the limitation on outbound performance is not cpu, but is network bandwidth and disk i/o.
If your list is ldap-hosted, I would break it into several pieces. Use the "mailhost" attribute for each group to let Messaging Server know which MTA to "expand" the list. You can certainly use "inbound" relays to expand and send out your mailing lists, even if they're mostly set up to do inbound work that way, and you don't have to worry about load balancing, as you've done that already.
    >
The dilemma is how to have sufficient reserve
outbound capacity to handle the infrequent but
important mail list runs, but yet not have machines
sitting idle in between.Understood. See above. . .
    >
My idea was to configure each machine with two
instances of Messaging Server 6.2 on a Solaris 10Bad Idea
First, >1 instance of messaging 6.x isn't possible for any single instance of an OS, second, it doesn't buy you anything.
Proper tuning of one instance is all you really need.
platform, one instance for the inbound MTA and one
for the outbound. I hoped this would allow each MTA
to have its own .cnf files thereby maintaining
independent configuration of inbound and outbound. Really no need for this. and since going to the pkg format, that prevents more than one instance from being installed anyway.
    >
Further, I hoped I could assign the outbound MTA
instance to have a higher CPU priority than the
inbound instance. The idea being to get the highest
utilization of the CPU.Nope. Not needed. Don't go there......
Instead, check out Chad Stewart's tuning guide for a start on tuning your MTA's. The basic design of the MTA lends itself to quite a bit of adaptation to the load, based on your settings. If you typically have a lot of inbound load, and suddently hit it with 50,000 outbound messages, the MTA will shift resources to dequeue outbound.
    http://ims.balius.com/downloads.php#tuning_guide
    >
Does anyone see a problem in this approach?very much so. see above.
    >
This might also require separate network interfaces
and IP addresses for each MTA instance, but that
seems more of a financial obstacle rather than
technical. You can certainly do this, but it may not be needed.
    >
Would Solaris 10 zones be useful for keeping the two
instances distinct?hard to dynamically move resources around.
    >
Thanks to everyone for their helpful commentsHere's what I would do:
    1. Set up two boxes for "mostly" inbound. Do your scanning, vacation/autoreply and such. have your MX records point here.
    2. Set up two boxes for "mostly" outbound. Use a DNS round-robin internally, for your users to send to.
    3. Set up your lists as ldap lists. Make a "master list" that is simply a list of lists. Each sub-list should have a "mailhost" on one of the MTA's, so the two "mostly outbound" hosts transfer the message BEFORE address expansion to the correct box. That's one message, trivial expense of resources.
Messaging Server understands "urgent" flags, so you can tune the mta's to give such high priority.

  • Prevent Outbound delivery creation in sales orders with delivery block

    Hi gurus
We are facing the following issue:
Some sales orders have delivery block header and once they are saved an outbound delivery document is created; we want SAP system creates outbound deliveries only in those cases were sales orders have not a delivery block in header, is there any option or configuration we can use in order to prevent the creation of these documents?
    Regards,
    Edgar.

    Well Edgar,
    let's see then in spro
Logistics Execution->Shipping->Deliveries->Define Reasons for Blocking in Shipping
Check out the configuration of your delivery block reason and pay special attention to this instruction:
"In sales documents, you can either enter delivery blocks manually at header level (business data in the sales document header) or they can be proposed automatically by the system. In the latter case, the delivery block must be entered in the respective sales document type (see chapter
"Define sales document types"). In addition, the delivery block in the sales document header is only effective if the delivery block has been assigned to the respective delivery type."
It must be something in the configuration of the delivery block reason you're using.
    Regards,
    Edgar

  • Trigger GP process by giving  process URL in Interface View outbound plug

    Hi,
    My Requirement is,
I have 1 GP process implemented in webdynpro.
From 1 of my view I am calling the process completeion(executionContext.processingComplete();) code, written in interface controller.
After this code I need to start the same process once again, without clicking any link.
For this I have created 1 outbound plug in the interface view of my window(out blug for WebDynproCOInterfaceView with parameter "Url").
Then after calling executionContext.processingComplete();, I gave
wdThis.wdGetWebDynproCOInterfaceViewController().wdFirePlugGotoUrl("Process Instantiation URL"); in my view.
but it is giving error,"WDRuntimeException: Cannot navigate from view WebDynproCOInterfaceView via non-existent outbound "
Also I tried to start the gp process througn coding also
    what I tried is,
    IWDClientUser wdUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
    IUser user1 = wdUser.getSAPUser();
    IGPUserContext userContext = GPContextFactory.getContextManager().createUserContext(user1);
    IGPProcess process = GPProcessFactory.getDesigntimeManager().getActiveTemplate("EB0B28E08B6011DB0145EB416E0",userContext);
    EB0B28E08B6011DB0145EB416E0 is the process ID.
This code I have tried by giving before and after the completion of the previous process(process9executionContext.processingComplete();)
But this also didn't work..No error came. But process didn't start again after thecompleted once.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks
    smitha

    Hi Rupam,
    thanks for the reply
I have given EXIT type of  outbound plug only. But it won't work if the view is  in portal.
When I tried to create the process using GP API the process is creating in Background. For me , after the completion of one process , automatically next should trigger and the corresponding view should be visible for the user.
Process is triggering using GP API but, the view is not visible to user.
    Please help me
    Thanks

  • Can we create inbound delivery with refernce to outbound delivery?

    Dear all,
can we create inbound delivery with refernce to outbound delivery?
    Regards
    ahmad

    Dear Ahamed
I beleive it is a stock movement between 2 different plants
If so then the receiving plant will have to do GR against the outbound delivery only
The outbound delivery of the supplying plant
The  outbound delivery of the supplying plant will not become the inbound delivery of the receiving plant in SAP
    But logically yes
Your second post talks about outbound delivery only and that is correct
My point is your proces doesnot involve inbound delivery at all
In STO there is no inbound delivery at all
Inbound delivery in SAP means shipping notification that means the confirmation from the vendor about the despatches
That will not have  muck material details and it is just a confirmation
Meaning of inbound delivery from SCM 601 logistics execution
The goods receipt process using inbound deliveries realistically maps standard
processes in many companies. If the vendor announces the goods receipt with a
shipping notification, the inbound delivery can be created either manually or
automatically on the basis of the shipping notification. It contains information
transmitted by the vendor concerning the expected delivery times and quantities,
as well as any information about packaging. It is also the reference document for
the subsequent putaway using a transfer order. If you also use the transportation
function as part of Logistics Execution, you can summarize inbound deliveries
    into inbound shipments.

  • IDOC HRMD_A06 Missing Infotype When Outbound

    Hi All,
I'm using message type HRMD_A and basic type A06 for my HR outbound IDOC interface.
I did not put any filter for the distribution model, however, when I execute the outbound, it only outbound the IT 2 and IT50 for me. Other infotypes are missing (eg IT 1, 8, 9 etc).
Can you tell me what did I setup wrong? Hope someone can help me because it's urgent.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Hard to say... Are you using PFAL for distribution? Have you check the application log (SLG1 - Object HRALE)?
Have you tried to debug RHALEINI (PFAL)? Are you using an evaluation path to get your population? What transfer mode are you using? (insert? update?) Did it actually works once or you just never make it works?
    Kr,
    Manu.

  • Saving Drafts on IMAP account that's forced to use SMTP outbound server

    Hi!
Occasionally, I'll get messages from OSX Mail telling me that it can't save a copy of a draft on an IMAP address, and when I send said message, it never shows up in my sent items folder.
Due to limitations with my ISP, I cannot use the IMAP outbound server (they block 25, and my IMAP's outbound port only operates on 25.). Instead, I use an SMTP server that I have for another account.
Any thoughts as to why A.) It's not saving in the sent folder, B.) I cannot save drafts, and C.) This only happens occasionally?
    -Jonathan

    Jonathan,
Typically, the choice of SMTP used as Outgoing Server, does not have to match the account of the From address, and the SMTP provided by your ISP would not prevent Mail from saving the message from the IMAP account in the proper Sent mailbox. However, with IMAP accounts, it is normal and necessary to choose a folder on the IMAP server, and tell Mail to use that folder for the Sent message (via the aforementioned "Use This Mailbox For" command), if the selection in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Mailbox Behaviors is to save the Sent messages on the Server. Without this choice, Mail should create a Sent mailbox that will reside on your Mac's hard drive. There is a similar choice for the Drafts.
In the Sidebar to the Mail window, does your Inbox for the IMAP account have any small black triangle beside it, or at the bottom of the Sidebar, are there any folders you have not created, or perhaps an Icon in the form of a sphere with "@" in its center?

  • Resend Outbound IDOC

    Hi
I am trying to achieve a functionality wherein i want to RESEND  and not reprocess my Outbound Idoc ( only if the Out IDOC is in status 03 or 12 ) .
the aim is to copy the existing IDOC verbatim ( without allowing the user to modify any fields ) , generate a new number and  resend it .
This is same functionality as in we19 with the difference being for modification of fields in the newly generated IDOC and the other problem is i am not authorised to do a we19 in production environment.
Hence i need to replicate the we19 functionality inside we05.
so the user shud be able to run transaction similiar to we05 , see all idocs as per message type , select any IDOC he wants (with status 03 or 12 ),  press the " resend " button which we will add in the code  and then a copy is made and send to the receiver system .
Can someone help me with a FM which does the resending functionality as described above?.
    Regards
    Bhavana

Using RSEOUT00 seems like a good method.

  • Looking for a tiny MTA

    Hi guys.
I'am looking for a tiny MTA only to forward my user mails to my real mailbox.
Perhaps there is a smarter solution than using a MTA daemon. A script using msmtp/ssmtp or so...
    Thanks in advance

    man crond
You can send the output anywhere you want (-m), you can use a script (-M) so I guess you could just append it to the end of a file?

  • Create Outbound  extended IDOC for venodr create & change (XK01 & XK02)

    Dear all,
    My requirement is as below:
I have to populate an extended IDOC of the standard IDOC CREMAS in the following cases.
    1. When a new vendor is created from XK01 with classification characterstics value for supplier status as 'YES'.
    2. When a vendor is changed by adding a partner function OA in the partner function.
    3. We have to purposefully fail the IDOC when the partner function OA is deleted in XK02 transaction.
    4. We have to purposefully fail the IDOC when the main vendor is blocked or deleted(XK05 or XK06).
Since i am new to IDOC, i tried many things but its not working.
I tried by the change pointer method for the standard IDOC but it will create the IDOC in all cases which we don't want it should be created only when supplier status is 'YES' and new partner function OA is created.
    Regards,
    Manjunath

    hi,
I know how to extend an IDOC, but my question is after extending an IDOC i have to populate that outbound IDOC only in some cases.that is when a vendor is created with supplier status as YES, when a vendor is changed by adding an partner function.
I want these checks know where to make these checks before creating an outbound IDOC.i want to knaow a common point where i can make these checks like an exit.
i found 1 exit fo all the cases EXIT_SAPMF02K_001 but in this exit we will have the vendor number because it is exit before save.
Now  i am looking into the FM 'MASTERIDOC_CREATE_CREMAS' in which we have an exit 'EXIT_SAPLKD01_001'.

  • Delivery relevant only for TD shipment.

    Hello,
In an IS-OIL system, how to make the outbound delivery only relevant for TD shipment. i.e user should not be able to process it with VT01N transaction.
Is this possible in IS-OIL system. If yes,  please let me know the IMG settings required for this.
<b>Useful answers will be rewarded with points.</b>
    Regards,
    Stefan.

    Hi,
    Stefan,
You can check to create TD shipment through transaction
    O4F1...(Create a Shipment )
    O4H1(Create/Change Delivery Confirmation)
O4G1*(Create a Loading Confirmation is not used for STO)
However I am sure about the settings of this.
I wish I could help you more.
I will try to fetch some information.
    Hope it helps.
