Outlook 2013 : Mail Sercurity Alert
We are always getting this alert every time I open Outlook 2013. We are using Exchange 2010. Could you please help us on this?
Hi rueltags,
Thank you for your question.
Did outlook 2010 get this alert?
Did outlook get alert all the time when Exchange 2010 was installed?
If new Exchange 2010, we could refer to the following link to rebuild Exchange certificate for Exchange and make sure the same SAN name:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/danielkenyon-smith/archive/2010/05/13/the-name-on-the-certificate-is-invalid-or-does-not-match-the-name-of-the-site-part-1.aspx
If the alert occurred recently, are there any updates? if not, we could refer to Vasil’s advice to suppress the auto discover mismatch warning.
Notice: after we deploy the certificate, we must import certificate to client owing to the first error information which is in security alert window.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
Best Regard,
Jim

Outlook 2013 mail/cal item crash
Hello, hope someone can help.
We have recently updated our standard Outlook mail accounts to Exchange. With the change my outlook has been upgraded from 2010 to 2013.
Anyway, after a great deal of kafuffle in configuring exchange, downloading clients, uninstalling, installing and re-installing I finally have Outlooks 2013 booting up in to safe mode. I should point out that I'm running on a 64bit Windows 7 OS, with 32bit
office 2010 and now 32bit Outlook 2013 - I realise this to be far from perfect but it's all I've got!
Now I can boot into safe mode just fine, but opening up a mail item, creating new mail, opening or creating new calendar items all crash Outlook. After going through many help articles on the MS sites and forums, this lead me to believe it was a problem
with the reading pane and/or an add-on. I have since removed ALL add-ons with the exception of "Microsoft VBA for Outlook Add in" which isn't able to be disabled.
I have also noted that in the "Customise ribbon" menu there are no options in the drop-downs, and resetting all ribbon customisations gives the same crash.
Instead of posting a ream of error reports and the like, I thought I’d just post the highlights of my day so far:
This one is the most common: Faulting module name: MSVCR100.dll, version: 10.0.40219.325, time stamp: 0x4df2be1e
This is often paired with the following highlights in another log entry:

Some of the things I have attempted have been removing .pst and .ost files. Starting with blank files, starting with no files at all and spoofing a user account just to get an empty outlook. I've used MsConfig in safe mode, stopping system services and add
ins. I'm convinced it's something to do with the ribbon but seeing as I've ran out of ideas and solutions to try, I thought I would seek some help.
Many thanks for you time in looking at this.Hi,
You mentioned you have tried rebooting in Safe Mode. Please note there is a little difference between
Safe Mode and Clean Boot.
Basically, the purpose of Clean Boot is mainly to troubleshoot software compatibility issues. To perform clean-boot troubleshooting, you must take a number of actions, and then restart the computer after each action.
This article below explains more information about Clean Boot:
http://www.thewindowsclub.com/what-is-clean-boot-state-in-windows
So here I suggest we perform a clean boot to troubleshoot this issue. Hope this can find out the issue cause.

Outlook 2013 Mail Option buttons not working
Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 issue where in Outlook File>Options>Mail the "Spelling and Autocorrect", "Signatures", and "Stationary and Fonts" buttons will not respond. I have searched and searched but I cannot make these
buttons work.
Solutions I have tried with no results:
Running Outlook in Safe Mode
Disabling all Com-Addins
Reinstalled Outlook
Ran Office Repair
Re-created Mail Profiles
Disabled HIPS protection
Changed Registry values in:
HKCU>Software>Policies>Microsoft>Office>15.0>Common>MailSettings
HKCU>Software>Microsoft>Office>15.0>Common>MailSettings
HKLM>Software>Classes>Wow6432Node>CLSID>{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
(Default) Key and LocalServer32 Key
Tried to get to signature through MS Word
I am unable to navigate to the location of the signature block and I am able to place signatures there through adding .rtf, .htm, and .txt file. I am able to add them into the email, but when I choose "signatures" no window opens to add/edit current
signatures.
Please Help! I cannot think of anything else to try!
-ChrisHi Chris,
Are these three buttons grayed out?
What version of Windows and Outlook 2013 are you using? The registry value we need to modify is different according to the version of Windows and Outlook.
32-bit version of Windows
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
32-bit version of Office on a 64-bit version of Windows
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
64-bit version of Office
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
Please make sure you have modified the correct registry value.
In addition, please also make sure you have entered the correct path to Outlook.exe for the registry value. It's recommended to navigate to the path in Explorer first and then copy and paste the path to the data filed of the registry values.

Outlook 2013 mail stuck in Outbox
We just started using Outlook 2013 and Exchange 2013 (Fresh install) but we got a problem with additional mailboxes.
When you open additional mailboxes on your exchange account settings where you have send as permissions and full access and then send an e-mail from that mailbox it stays in the outbox. Sending an e-mail in owa works fine from the mailbox.
What can this be?We need to try basic steps for this mail stuck in outbox issue as below:
Work offline, move the stuck mail into another folder. Restart Outlook and Work online to send it again.
Temporarily uninstall or disable firewall and antivirus software.
Test in Outlook safe mode.
Create a new profile and re-setup your account.
Let me know the resualt. Thanks.

Can not open Word 2010 docx in Word 2013 from Outlook 2013 mail
Hello,
I got a mail on outlook with a word 2010 attachment in docx format.
Open this attachment with double click will show only the welcome screen with the text Open in protected mode.
With process monitor I could that word 2013 in an endless loop and tries to create the registry key
"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Options\Vprsu" in an loop.
The result is always ACCESS DENIED.
When I create this key manually there will be an loop to create the registry key
"HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\15.0\word\options\Assist".
The result is always ACCESS DENIED.
When I create this key manually. Word show the attachment immediatelly.
Closing Word and open the attachment again will delete this registry key and the cycle starts again.
Is there a hotfix available that will repair this?
I think this is an error in word 2013 protected view.
Disabling the protected view will help, but is not an good solution.
Is there any other workarround?
Screenshot from process monitor:
Best Regards,
DieterThis issue may occur if the default file associations for Word are damaged. You may repair Office 2013 to restore the file associations and check if that helps. Refer to the link below for more information. You may restart
the computer once the repair is done.

Outlook 2013 Mail Setup Add Account crashes or will not connect to Exchange in Windows 8.1
I've posted this in the answers.Microsoft.com forum, as well as the Office365 forum, and they sent me here, saying the Outlook engineers would be the best to help with this. I actually already posted this question a week ago, but nobody here replied.
Getting a bit frustrated at the lack of support, except for Richard over at the Office365 Forum.
I'm setting up a new laptop with Windows 8.1. Just installed Office Professional Plus 2013. I have an Office365 E1 subscription, but this Office 2013 is not associated with the subscription.
When I go to setup any email account using the automatic mode (primary will be Exchange Online with my 365 account, but I've tested POP email accounts with the same result), the Mail Setup crashes once the email address and password is entered and Next is
pressed. This error message is displayed:
"Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
The step displayed as in process when the crash occurs is the "Searching for [email address] settings". The first step "Establishing network connection" is checked complete.
I've run an Office Repair, and there's no change. I've run a clean boot, and no change. I uninstalled/reinstalled both from the Click to Run version, as well as reinstalling from a disk install, with the same error still appearing.
If I use the manual setup mode and input the server outlook.office365.com, both the Check Name function and the Next button result in the error message:
"The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
I've disabled the firewall and still get this Outlook error. I am able to start Outlook and it will run now, and I can connect POP and IMAP email using the manual setup, but still cannot connect to ExchangeOnline via the manual setup. I still
get the error "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
I deleted the Outlook data file and deleted the profile, and created a new profile, and I'm still getting the Add account setup crash Rundll32 error in the auto-setup mode.
Important to note: I tested my friend's Office365 E3 ExchangeOnline account and was able to get a successful setup test, so it doesn't appear that the problem is entirely just the Outlook2013 client, since it worked once with a 365 Exchange account.
I've been trying to get this working for 2 weeks now, and I am unable to completely switch off my old laptop using Outlook 2010 until I can get Outlook2013 setup on my new one, which is a huge hassle.
Can you offer any ideas or solutions? Please help ASAP.
Thanks,
JasonIMPORTANT: I found the solution. Another user figured it out and posted the answer on another thread.
Please spread this around to all other Outlook support techs so they know to point people in the direction of the quick (though very obscure) fix to this problem.

I got a new Acer laptop with Windows 8.1 over 3 weeks ago, and installed Office Professional Plus 2013. I have an Office365 E1 subscription, but this Office 2013 is not associated with the subscription.

"The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." The folks in the Office365 support community have told me that Office365 ExchangeOnline
servers have to be configured with the auto-setup and cannot be setup manually.
I've done both a system refresh and a system reset, and I'm still getting the Rundll32 error. I tried to run a reset from a disk, but the laptop does not want to run it from the external DVD drive (giving error messages), so that doesn't appear
to be an option.
I've searched extensively, and there doesn't seem to be any existing threads where anything like this problem is discussed.
Can you offer any ideas or solutions?
After THREE WEEKS of troubleshooting this, and some significant delays in getting help from support, I'm really close to returning this laptop.
I need an answer on this ASAP to see if you've got an insights before I return the laptop for a new one.

Issues with the color category in Outlook 2013 mail
We use Microsoft Outlook at work where we have the same email account on a few computers. The color categories have been very useful, especially when more than one person is working with the same email account, to indicate who is supposed to do what and
what have already been dealt with. So when we upgraded our computers to Windows 7 and installed Microsoft Office 2013 it was very frustrating to find out that the color categories dosen't sync between computers.
Does anybody have a solutions to fix this problem?Categories sync between computers but when you use a shared mailbox, colors aren't shared, except between owners. Each person has to maintain their own color category list for the shared mailbox. There are utilities you can use (or use macros) to
share colors.

About outlook 2013 mail account (TO/ CC) issue
Hi every expert:
I have a question about outlook development. Can I add custom-made icon in front of the mail account (TO/CC). As show below. No, there is no trivial way to get the job done. The Outlook extensibility model doesn't provide anything for that.
But you can try to subclass an Outlook window and replace the standard view. See
Adjucent windows in Outlook. As an alternative, you may try to use CompleteReplacement layout from Advanced Outlook Form regions (Add-in Express). -
A company is using O365, with Outlook 2013 on their clients. Two people added a general account to their accountlist in Outlook 2013, which is used for "sales". For example, customers can send questions to this "sales" mail account and
both employees can read the mail and answer the customer from that acoount.
My question is the following.
Both employees would like to have a different reading pane/lay-out. At this moment, if the first user change his view (in his Outlook client) to the view he likes, the second user see a change of his view too. The first person like to see the preview
pane, the second don't... If the second change the view again to the one he likes, the first person will lose his prefered view.
I can't see any options to personalize the views at this account in Outlook or elsewhere in O365 for both people seperately. Is it possible anyway? If yes, how?Hi,
I am not familiar with Office 365 account. But in Exchange On-premise server, the Outlook view would be synced to the Exchange mailbox.
If two users open the same Exchange mailbox in Outlook, the synced view for the mailbox would be also be updated to the local Cached Outlook profile. Therefore, two users can't always view the mailbox in their customized views respectively.

Multiple exchange e-mail accounts in outlook 2013
Hello. I'm trying to set-up two exchange e-mail accounts in outlook 2013 (Exchange server is synchronized with Active Directory).
Once I add second account and restart outlook I get password prompt from each of the accounts. And it keeps prompting all the time and one of the accounts do not work. Could you please assist me on how to set-up those multiple exchange e-mail accounts correctlySetup the second Exchange account in one profile would always keep prompting usernam/password. This is limitation of Outlook profile.
To work around this, I recommand that you may use the tool as below:

Problem using the e-mail button in Acrobat Pro 7.1.0 with Outlook 2013
I just switched my e-mail application from Mozilla Thunderbird to Outlook 2013.
I have always been able to click the e-mail button in Acrobat 7.1.0 to open a blank e-mail message with the PDF file attached.
I keep getting an error now that I have Outlook 2013.
It says "You need to create a Microsoft Outlook profile. In Microsoft Windows, go to the Control Panel and open Mail. Click Show Profiles, and then click Add"
Then, when I click on the OK button it says "Acrobat is unable to log in to your email application. Please check your account settings and try again."
I have checked and I have one profile in Control Panel called Outlook. Outlook is set as my default e-mail program.
I tried using a 3rd party PDF reader (Foxit Reader) and the e-mail button works as expected (opens a new message with the PDF attached).
I am running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit with Outlook 2013 32-bit (this was what was recommended by Microsoft on the Office download site).
I would appreciate help anyone can provide to fix this problem.
Thank you.It may be a similar issue, but not the same issue. This is not the Reader forum, but if you are worried about the compatibility it is a simple matter to upgrade your Reader to AR XI. The original post had to do with a cost product, not the free Reader.
For AA7, the PDF Maker of AA7 is not compatible with Outlook 2013 as suggested. You should still be able to open most PDFs, but to create a PDF from Outlook you will have to print to the Adobe PDF printer or upgrade to AA XI. -
GUI Bug Outlook 2013 while sorting E-Mail in the list view in the main window
Hello,
I found a bug in Outlook 2013 - following occures: in main window, when I sort the list view with e-mails by "sent to" or by "received from" and when I delete one mail from this list, the view is not correct, because after the deleted
E-Mail disapears when I go with my mouse Cursor over other e-mails in the list Outlook 2013 shows all mails from the top of the list (beginning in alphabetical or reverse alphabetical order) as I move with mouse over neighbour mails from the corrected view
instead of the same view with only that one item deleted. The scroll element right has the right Position, but after clicking on the arrow up or arrow down within this element it jumps to the start. This has worked in my Outlook 2010 well, and this is very
unpleasant because I can not work well everytime sorting my mails right again after I deleted one. This seems to be only the case if I sort my mails by Name, not if sorted by size or received/sent date, then list view works well. I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64
and Office 2013 x32, on HP6910 with ATI graphics Card. Whole System works fine since years. Is there any log file I can submit? Is my description clear? Please help , thanks.

Can send but not receive mail in outlook 2013
I just started to have the same issue. I have multiple PC's all running outlook 2013 and one of them just stopped receiving mail.
The others work fine, and yeah I check that it is set to receive mail in the options, along with many other typical tasks like dissabling the av.
This is on WIN 7 pro.
I have uninstalled office. Deleted my ost and pst. Reinstalled office and re-created my mail account. Same issue. There must be some other setting in my profile or registry that is persisting
I am about to go back to Office 2010, I have already gone back to Win 7 after a terrible experience with 8.1 and its media centre licence issue and lack of driver support (which worked under WIN 8!!).
Seriously Microsoft! Do you just hate people?Hi,
What is the account type? Exchange, IMAP or POP3? Is it working fine to receive emails on Webmail(OWA)? It is preferred if you could provide any error code/message.
The first thing that should be checked up is if the account has been setup properly, you may need to contact your ISP(Internet Service Provider) to get the information you need to setup the account.
If you press Send/Receive All Folders button, can you get new messages? Please go to
SEND/RECEIVE tab -> Send/Receive Groups ->
Define Send/Receive Groups -> For All Accounts, under
Setting for group "All Accounts", set Schedule an automatic send/receive every "X" minutes, we can set
X as you need.
Please create a new profile to test if the issue persists:
