Outlook 2013 Outgoing Mail Errors

I've been using Outlook 2013 on Win8 to send/receive Verizon.net email for some time. Lately, the outgoing has stopped working. I've gone through the fora and tried several options. Oddly, when I use the standard settings, the Account Test works fine. But I still get the following Send Error:
My account settings are:

BTW,.... this is an intermittant issue. Note that the test messages generated when configuring the account work fine. And typically, one message will go out.. Then, the pipe gets clogged (so to speak) and nothing else goes. If I quit Outlook, and reboot, then the message goes again.
Very frustrating.
You can't put up a screenshot with your personal information (username, password, etc) or they will delete it. Block/remove those parts from the screenshot and it should work.

  • Outlook 2013 'Not responding' errors

    Hi,
I'm looking for someone who can help me with an issue that's been the been of my existence for the last couple of weeks/months. I tried every suggestion the Internet has to offer and I'm kinda at the end of my rope here.
On a couple of our workstation we are experiencing serious problems with outlook 2013. The users who use outlook extensively (administrative and management) get 'not responding' messages at random intervals. This can occour when typing a mail, navigating
    in Outlook,...
Most problems occur when working in the calendar ans when planning appointments in calendars of other user.
They all use Windows 7 pro 64b laptops that are no older then a year. When they used outlook 2010 none of them experienced any problems.
Here's a summation of what i tried already
    - Reinstall office
    - Reinstall OS
    - Replace laptop
    - Latest Update
    - Disable all COM-addins (in outlook and in registry on all levels)
    - Disable hardware acceleration (in outlook and registry)
    - Ran the Outlook FIXIT tool
    - Ran OFFCAT
None of the diagnostic tools i used reveal any critical errors.
When i check the log, there is an error but it doesn't reveal any info as to what caused it.

    Hi,
Which account type are you using? If you are using Exchange server account, please swtich the online/cache Exchange mode to check the result
Please also check if the Outlook data file size exceed the limit? If so, it may cause some unexpected behavior. Please refer to the following KB article to change the data file size limit:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832925/en-us
In addition, please have a look at this KB article and try the troubleshooting steps regarding Outlook crash.

  • PSE10 Outlook 2013 - Photo Mail can't find email association

I have Win 8 64-Bit (upgraded from Win 7 64-bit), Outlook 2013 (preview installed over Ourlook 2010) and PSE 10.
When I try use the Share > Photo Mail I get an error message:
"There is no email program associated to perform requsted action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
After I hit ok on the windows looking message box, I get a message in PSE:
"Elements Organiser could not Finish creating your email Message.
Please make sure that Microsoft Outlook is selected as the default email program in the Windows Internet Control Panel, and that all dialog boxes in Outlook are closed. If  this is the first time you are using Microsoft Outlook, please run the Outlook applicaiton and complete its set-up process before sending mail through Elements Organiser.
Alternatively, you can use the Adobe Email Service via the Elements Organiser Preferences Dialog.
I have Elements preferences pointing to Outlook. When I switch the sharing preference to Windows mail, I get:
"Elements Organiser could not Finish creating your email Message.
Alternatively, you can use the Adobe Email Service via the Elements Organiser Preferences Dialog."
I have checked the default programs, and Outlook 2013 has all associated file type and protocols pointed to it. (an dre-booted PC after resetting defaults)
    So either:
      - I am mising a fix relating to upgrading Win 7 64-bit with PSE10 to Win 8 64-bit or
      - PSE is looking for a particular protocol in the program defaults like MAILTO (but not this one as this is pointed to outlook) that is missing.
Anyone o know of a fix or what protocol it is looking for?

Well, the problem seems to have been cured. Not really clear what changed.
But using the Photo Mail or Email Attachment (with Outlook 2013 open), and the email appears as Outlook new email, and good to send.
    Two mentionable things happened:
I have Outlook 2010 open and tried to open 2013. Error -another outlook already open. Cleared error, closed O2010 and opened 2013.
The first one that worked, I was actually busy compiling a separate email, so that new mail was open.
When I complile in PSE, I don't select a recipient. Do that in the outlook new email window. (tried with selecting, still works, bt worth a mention)
So the good news, PSE10 works with Outlook 2013.
But not sure how to get past the problem I had, but keep trying, it will work.

  • Outlook 2007 - Outgoing mail server from a 3rd party

I tried to set up the outgoing mail server for my Outlook 2007 with a 3rd party mail server. e.g. mail.xxxx.com, and I could not send the e-mail at all. If I set up the  outgoing mail server as outgoing.verizon.net, I can send the email to everyone else but not to this 3rd party mail server mail.xxxx.com. I received the undeliverable message from Verizon that the mail was rejected due to not being able to log on to this 3r party mail server. I am working for this company from home and it requires me to set up this for my outgoing mail server. Does anyone know how to fix this, including specifying what needs to be done at the 3rd party mail server to change to accept emails sent from outgoing.verizon.net? Thank you in advance. Andy

Port 25 is the standard for SMTP, although some now use a submission port, 587. I know port 25 off network is blocked for residential users, I don't know if 587 is blocked off network because I have never tried it. I suspect it is. Verizon is by no means the only ISP to do this.
Business accounts do not have blocked ports as far as I know, so if you have a business account, you are free to communicate using port 25 anywhere.
Verizon has recently gone to non-standard port assignments for SMTP and POP servers. see

  • Outlook 2013 new mail notification sounds can't be changed

I've got a weird issue with Outlook 2013 on Windows 8..  I've read several other posts that are kind of similar but they don't really apply.
So, Outlook 2013 uses the "Desktop Mail Notification" sound event..  unless I change the .wav file assigned to that event.  Then it instead uses the "New Mail Notification" event.  Then when I change the .wav file assigned
to THAT one, it changes again to instead use the "Notification" event.  Then when I change the .wav file assigned to "Notification," Outlook just won't play anything at all when receiving new mail.  It just flat refuses to use
anything but the default .wav files.
Has anyone run into this before?

    Hi,
To change the new mail notification sound, please try the following:
    1. Right click the sound icon at the right bottom to open the sound settings.
    2. Under the
Windows section, change both the Desktop Mail Notification and New Mail Notification
events to have the same .wav file for the sound you want played for them.
    3. Then click OK to test the result.

  • Outlook 2013 putting mail into Junk

We have a user (who unfortunatley is an MD) who recieves automated purchase orders when they are generated by their PO system.  on a windows 7 (ENT) PC with office 2010 these emails arrive in his inbox no problem,  they arrive in his inbox in outlook
web app as well.  On his Windows 8.1 PC with office 2013 the mail goes straight to Junk.  We have tried a new mail profile, disableing the junk filter.
The email that is created is very simple as can be seen from the example code below.
There is no reason we are aware of why emails would be delivered to one individuals junk folder.
    SMTP.CreateMessage(OriginatorName,OriginatorEmail, Vend."Accounts E-Mail Address"
    ,'Purchase Order ' + PONo, 'Dear Supplier'+'
    ',TRUE);
    IF FileName <> '' THEN
    SMTP.AddAttachment(FileName);
    SMTP.AppendBody('
    SMTP.AppendBody('Please find attached a purchase order from '+CompanyInfo.Name+'. '
+'If you require any further information please contact us.'+'
    SMTP.AppendBody('
SMTP.AppendBody('Please note that to ensure prompt payment of your invoice you must quote our '
+'Purchase Order number on your delivery note and invoice.'+'
    SMTP.AppendBody('
    SMTP.AppendBody('Thank you.');
    SMTP.AppendBody('
    ' + CompanyInfo."Home Page" + '');
    SMTP.Send;
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Duncan

    Hi Duncan,
When you check those messages in the Junk folder, on the Infobar, did you see the message that states Outlook junk filter moved the message or not.
"The message was marked as spam using the Outlook Junk E-mail filter"
If Outlook did it, then try to add the address to the Safe Senders list
(Home tab>Junk>Junk E-mail options>Safe Senders) to prevent future messages from being moved into the Junk E-mail folder.
If the message has been filtered out by another scanner, then the Infobar will contain the following text:
”This message was marked as spam using a junk filter other than the Outlook Junk E-mail filter.”
In this case, it could be a Outlook rule or a anti-spam filter installed by your antivirus. You should check these on the machine.

  • Outlook 2013 Deletes mail older than 30 days in deleted items folder

Environment: Outlook 2013 and Exchange 2007 (fully patched)
One user has an issue where only 30 days worth of email is maintained in the deleted items folder. Every day, any email sent to deleted the previous day, will be gone.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi,
Outlook itself doesn't auto-delete anything. It could be something that's automatically being done by the server.
Let's first check the behavior on Outlook Web App (OWA), and see if issue persists.
If issue repro's on OWA, then it's something on Exchange server side, I would suggest you post the question in
Exchange server forum for further assistance.
If issue doesn't repro on OWA side, it might be something on Outlook client side that deletes emails from the trash. For this scenario, I would suggest you first check if he/she has
AutoArchive configured for the deleted folder which might delete messages older than a certain period of time.
Please feel free to post back with any findings.

  • Outlook 2013, Exchange 2010 error with Rules and Alerts

    Hello,
I was recently informed by a user that when they open Outlook 2013 and click Manage Rules and Alerts, they get the following message:
By the way, NO Microsoft, this information is not helpful.  Anyways, I found that the same problem is happening in my Outlook as well.  I do not believe it is happening to all users' accounts, and I am able to set up Rules within Outlook Web Access,
so it seems to be some local setting.  I found a lot of forums suggest running the Outlook /cleanrules switch, and this did not fix the problem.  Other suggestions are to delete the profile on the computer and/or uninstall outlook and reinstall it.
I don't like these solutions, as they don't point to the true source of the problem and do nothing to help avoid this problem in the future.  Has anybody else had this problem and been able to fix it?  We are running Exchange 2010 in our environment,
although not sure if that makes a difference or not.  Any answers that do not suggest the things I have already mentioned would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
For this issue, I recommend you ask in Office forum which is staffed by more experts specializing in this kind of problems. You might get better help there.

  • Shared mailbox outlook 2013 sent mail sitting in outbox folder

    Hi guys,
I am hope you might be able to assist.
I have users who access a shared mailbox (primary mailbox) as delegates with full permissions and send as permissions. They also have a nested mailbox which is their own personal mailbox. Mail sends from both mailboxes and when it behaves mail gets delivered
to the sent item of the sender. But on a common recurrence mail sits in the Outbox of the delegate mailbox when sent from that mailbox. They can hit send/receive and it will force mail to send and also mail can delay for several minutes at times. This is also
    seen in OWA.
Removing the nested mailbox and adding it as a additional mailbox allows mail to flow without issue but mail sent from the additional mailbox gets placed in the sent items of the primary mailbox. Client would prefer the sent items to be kept separate (tried
    DelegateSentItemsStyle).
The exchange is a Exchange 2013 VM server and the client's use remote desktop services to access the platform. Also each Windows mail client is configured to use HTTP and cache mode is disabled for remote services. Last applied update was on the 08/2014.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    PJ

    Hi,
From your description, when you send a message from shared mailbox, the message is sitting in Outbox folder. I have seen some people have this issue, it is recommended to run Outlook using Cached mode as a workaround.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Outlook 2013 and Gmail error

I am using a contact list to send email. It has worked previously and about 2 months ago I started getting the emails kicked back by gmail
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
    Subject:    Men's Breakfast
    Sent: 7/5/2014 9:32 AM
The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:
          XXXXXX  on 7/5/2014 9:32 AM
    Server error: 'Invalid recipient'
          XXXXX  on 7/5/2014 9:32 AM
    Server error: 'Invalid recipient'
The email addresses are correct and have worked previously -- Any idea what is causing this
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
It might be that Outlook register the specific email address with an incorrect E-mail type which is a problem. So try to change the E-mail type to
SMTP on E-mail Properties dialog and verify result:
Open the email from your Sent Items folder, right click the recipients in To
field, and select Open Outlook Properties, change the E-mail type to
    SMTP.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why is Outgoing mail from my iPad not appearing in Outlook 2010?

I have set my iPad to synch with my gmail account.  In turn my gmail account downlaods and synchs with Outlook 2010 on my Windows 7 PS.
Everything works except that when I send mail from my iPad or reply to incoming mail from my iPad, my replies, whilst synchronising with my gmail account, and showing in the Sent folder in gmail, do not download to Outlook.
If I log into gmail (from my email or via Safari) and send mail direct from gmail these messagesshow in the Sent box and DO show in iPad gmail outbox and Outlook, though they show in the Outlook inbox!
So the only mail that gets stuck in gmail and won't download to Outlook is outgoing mail sent from gmail in my iPad.
I can work around this by sending a bcc to myself of every outgoing message I send from iPad.  In this case the Send copy shows up in the Sent folder in gmail and does not download to Outleook but the bcc copy arrives in nthe Inbox in gmail and does download to Outlook.  Its ugly but works.
A proper fix would be better - does anyone have any ideas?

For Exchange GMail there is a way to set your iOS device to use a different "Send As" name than when using a computer.  Unfortunately in your case, you can set your computer to send an alternate name but the iOS device can only send the default GMail name, which is the name associated with your account.  Ideally, you would like your iOS device to use the alternate and let your computer use the default.
But if you want to play around with this ...
1- On the iOS device itself, use Safari to navigate to m.google.com/sync.  You will have to log in at the prompt with your GMail account info.
2- Select the iOS device name (in case you have multiple iOS devices using Google sync).
3- Select "Enable 'Send Mail As' for this device" and Save the changes.
4- Using a computer, log into your GMail account and select Settings/ Accounts and Import, then at the "Send mail as" prompt select "edit info" (off to the right).
    5- Change your outgoing name.
The name you specify in #5 will be used by your computer, but the iOS device will continue using the original (default) outgoing name.  You can see why you need the opposite in your case, so unless you can change the default to be your wife's name and then set the alternate to be your name, I think you're out of luck.

  • Acrobat XI email attachment does not appear to work with Outlook 2013 64 bit

When attempting to send email from Acrobat, the following Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 64 bit error message is received:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.  Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default email client."
Naturally, Outlook was set as default client and then reset for good measure.  I did both Outlook and Acrobat repairs and have the latest 11.0.2 installed.  All other internal Office 2013 email applications work as well as seemingly all other embedded Acrobat funcitions with Office 2013 work well.  Office 2010 64 bit and Acrobat X worked fine.  I upgraded to Office 2013 64 bit and had the problem with Acrobat X.  I then upgraded to Acrobat XI and the issue remained.
Most importantly, I intalled Office 2013 64 bit on my laptop with Acrobat X.  An the email attachment function works perfectly.
So, is there some sort of corrupt MAPI file that I have to overwrite on my desktop that the Ofice and Acrobat repair functions do not fix?
    Thanks,
    Joe

I am sorry.  In my haste, not only did I attach the link the wrong way, but I also did not specify which solution worked.  My problem was a Click to Run issue.  The portion of the thread that deals with the problem is:
"HurdleRemove replied on May 16, 2013
I created a solution for this problem for 64 bit Windows 8 where Outlook 2013 was installed as Click-To-Run.......
......A  registry edit will fix the problem with Outlook 2013 click to run  installations and enable Outlook to be set as the default mail client.  This registry edit will for many third party programs eliminate the error "Either  there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot  fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it  as the default mail client." It  worked to resolve the problem where Adobe Acrobat was generating this  error.
The registry edit is here for Office  2013 64 bit click to run installations that will enable Outlook 2013 to  be recognized by third party applications:
    1. Create registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook
    2. Create String value:
    Bitness
    3. Set the String value for Bitness to:
    x64
This registry edit is an essential element  necessary to resolve the click to run problem that prevents Outlook 2013  from being set as the default mail client. Although it worked with  Adobe Acrobat, it will not completely resolve the  problem for some third party applications like Kerio Outlook Connecter  where the software developer has a web site that includes extra steps  necessary for a full resolution for the Kerio product. The Kerio web  site includes this registry edit in the context  of resolving the Office 365 problem. However, the registry edit works  with Office 2013 desktop as well. A similar register edit could likely  be made for 32 bit versions but the registry path would not include Wow6432Node. I do not have a 32 bit machine and cannot test a 32 bit solution."

    Hi Bill
    Thank you for your pos.
You can use the following command to check whether you have purchased the certificate of audiscovery.westmoreload-country.org in your organization:
    Get-ExchangeCertificate –server CASServerName | fl
For example: you want to return all certificates stored on the Client Access server named ClientAccess01, you will type the follow command in EMS.
    Get-ExchangeCertificate -Server ClientAccess01 | fl
If you didn’t purchased the certificate of audiscovery.westmoreload-country.org, you could contact your certificate supplier.

  • Outlook 2013 set as default mail client but still shows error box saying it isn't?

We have recently installed Office 2013 64-bit on 4 servers. We previously used Outlook 2007 64-bit.
We set Outlook 2013 as the default mail client and do not have another mail client installed on the servers. However when you first login you get an error message box that says you have no default mail client 'either there is no default mail client or the
current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request'.
I have checked all defaults to be for Outlook 2013.
How can I solve this issue? I am an administrator.

Try different Method to set Outlook 2013 as the default mail client to check the result. Thanks.
Method 1:Set as default within outlook.
-File > Options > General Tab >  select the "Make Outlook the default program for E-mail, Contacts, and Calendar"
    check box.
Method 2: Set as default from the internet explorer.
-Tool > Internet Options > Programs Tab > Set programs
Method 3: Set as default from control panel.
    1.Navigate to Control Panel\Default Programs\Set Default Programs
2.Click on the outlook icon on the left hand side.
    3.Set as default.
We may also try to create anther windows user profile in the same machine to check if the issue still persists. Thanks.
