Outlook WebMail Won't Setup

This might be a tricky one, as I've tried a lot of things, but who knows.
My school uses Microsoft Outlook Web Access for its email program. the URL is rockmail.sru.edu/exchange, I've tried setting it up trying all three types of mail (IMAP, POP, Exchange) and everytime it gives me the "Cannot connect using SSL".
Any ideas?

Try following settings:
Account = On
IMAP Acctount information:
Name = <your name>
Address = <your email address>
Description = <account description>
Incoming Mail Sever:
Host Name = rockmail.sru.edu
User Name = <your username>
Password = <your password>
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
Host Name = rockmail.sru.edu
User Name = <your username>
Password = <your password>
Click on Advanved...
Scroll down to Incoming Settings:
Use SSL = Off
(ignore authentication)
IMAP Path Prefix = Inbox
Server Port = 143
Outgoing Settings:
Use SSL = Off
(ignore authentication)
Server Port = 587

  • Safari unable to load Outlook webmail??

    I just upgraded to Tiger and now safari won't load whenever I try to log onto my Outlook webmail (working from home today). When I open internet explorer the page loads fine. Any suggestions?!? Is there a security modification I need to make?
    On a sidebar, I'm getting totally disenchanted with Tiger and apple right now. First, I find out Mail can't handle IMAP and now safari can't handle outlook webmail. What next??

    Safari ver 1.31 seems quite happy with OWA, but both of my systems running Tiger (Safari ver 2.01 and 2.02) are not working well. In 2.01 I got the inbox to load, and was asked for the username/password when trying to open a message (which never opened). In 2.02 I can't even get the inbox to load.
    OWA is working with IE 5.2. Strikes me that something has change in Safari that needs to be fixed.

  • How to add outlook webmail

    How do I add an outlook webmail acct to my Mac mail?

    Hello mushrea,
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities
    It sounds like you want to add an email account to your Mac Mail application.
    Here is an article that will help you get that setup.
    Configuring Mail for your email account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1277
    Manually configuring Mail
    Note: You should make note of your email settings--see the cheat sheet below. Contact your email service vendor and note all of the details needed to fill in your settings. During the setup process, you will need these details to complete the setup process. You can either print the sheet and write on it, or paste it into a text document and fill it in on your Mac. Keep the sheet for later reference in case you need it.
    Open Mail (click it on the Dock or open it from the Applications folder).
    If the "Welcome to Mail" assistant does not appear, choose Add Account from the File menu.
    Fill in the Full Name, Email address, and Password fields.
    Note: Your email account password will be stored in Keychain to allow you to automatically log in to your email account when you open Mail.
    Deselect "Automatically set up account" if it is enabled. Click Continue to proceed.
    Choose the proper Account Type.
    Give your account a useful description, such as "Anne's Gmail account" or "Juan's Yahoo! email account". It can be called whatever you want.
    Enter your Incoming Mail Server, User Name and Password. Click Continue to proceed.
    If prompted, enter your Incoming Mail Security settings. Click Continue to proceed.
    For Outgoing Mail Server, a useful description such as "Gmail Outgoing Mail Server" or "Yahoo! Outgoing Mail Server".
    Enter the Outgoing Mail Server details.
    If necessary, select "Use Authentication" and enter your User Name and Password. Click Continue to proceed.
    If prompted, enter your Outgoing Mail Security settings. Click Continue to proceed.
    Verify your settings in the Account Summary. Check "Take account online". Click "Create" to complete the process.
    After completing these steps you should be able to send and receive email via this account. If you can't send or receive email, contact your ISP for assistance (even if you don't use your ISP's email service), or visit any online help or support websites they offer. Have your email settings on hand to inform the ISP support of the needs of your email service provider.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Outlook webmail issues?

    Question 1 (main question): My wife uses Microsoft Outlook (webmail) at her job.  She says that it is completely different when she gets home and uses it on our imac.  Today she typed an email, went to add contacts and then the email was "gone", never to be found...and it was never sent.  Is outlook for a mac different than when she's on a pc at school?  Is there anything we can do to make it the same?
    Question 2:  I have purchased Parallels to run windows/OSX at the same time.  If I install Parallels and windows....will it be EXACTLY as if I have a PC?  Does it look the same? feel the same?  everything EXACTLY the same?
    thanks!

    We can answer questions on Apple products but because Outlook is a Windows  product unless someone really knows it well here we probably won't be able to assist.
    However on your question about Parallels, when you load MS Windows you are running MS Windows so it's exactly like it is on any PC which means you will also need to run Antivirus software, have issues with DLL's etc... Another solution (and far less expensive) is to get MS Office for Mac 2011 and your wife can run Outlook natively. It also gives her Word, Excel & PowerPoint too.

  • Microsoft Outlook Webmail.

    I access my work email through Microsoft Outlook Webmail using Safari.
    However, when composing emails I cannot format any text - change fonts, bold, underline etc.  Any fixes?
    My IT people say its a problem with Safari and I should use another brower like Firefox.
    Has anyone else come across this problem and is there a fix to Safari available so I dont need to use Firefox?
    Thanks

    Outlook Web App (OWA, a.k.a.: Outlook Web Access) only supported Internet Explorer on Windows for the full editor (a.k.a.: Premium) until recently.  On Exchange 2010, support was added for Safari 3.1 and later on OSX, as well as Firefox 3.0.1 and later on Windows, OSX and Linux.  Chrome 3.0 is also supported on Windows, but not on OSX.
    So only if your company is using Exchange 2010 will you be able to get the full editor while using OSX.  But if they are, then you wouldn't need Firefox since Safari on OSX is supported.  If the server is Exchange 2007 or earlier, then OSX browsers will never get the full editor.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outlook_Web_App
    (edit, BTW, if your company is using Exchange 2007 or 2010, you can also setup OSX's Mail to directly connect to Exchange rather than using OWA.  OSX's iCal as well.  I'm told that there are a few features that don't work as well like meeting invites, but it is an option.  If the more advanced features of Exchange are important to you, then you may want to consider Outlook 2011, which still requires Exchange 2007 or 2010.  I use Outlook 2011 to connect to Exchange 2010, although I don't have to deal with meeting invites and such so I don't know offhand about those limitations.)

  • Safari 5.0 using Outlook Webmail - mark message unread

    Is there any way I can view an email in Outlook Webmail, read a message and then mark it as being unread? A P.C. can do this, can a Mac?

  • Can't use Contacts in Outlook Webmail to send mail

    I can access my company's Outlook Webmail from home, using Safari 10.3.1. No log in problems.
    However, when I try to send mail to a contact, the name doesn't appear. My Contacts are all listed and I can review and add to them through Safari and my Options are set to check names against Contact list. Yet when I enter a last initial in the To field, only our staff names with that last initial appear. I enter the full last name and get "no entries are found" yet the person IS in my Contacts.
    I have to send to multiple people (a press list) and so entering the full e-mail address of all those people is just not an option.
    Thoughts?
    Thank you.

    Here is the explanation of how to use the Stylish extension to apply a style rule change to a web page. The other way to apply a custom style rule to a page is a userContent.css file. Since Stylish makes tweaking and previewing easy, I'll describe that method.
    (1) Install Stylish and restart Firefox. (If you already have Stylish, skip to step 2.)
    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/
    (2) Display the People page that has the problem.
    (3) Look for the "S" icon on the Add-ons bar (press Ctrl+/ to display the bar if necessary). Click the icon and choose
    Write new style > Blank style...
    (4) Copy the following and paste it into the new rule on the large blank area where there is a faded 1 in the left margin:
    @namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
    @-moz-document domain("mail.live.com") {
    .ContactsListScrollable, .DeletedContactsScrollable {width:325px!important;}
    (5) Click the Preview button and watch the effect on the page. Does it work?
    ''Note: I only tested this on the People page. If that same list appears on other pages, the resizing might actually make it smaller on that page. Let me know if you see that.''
    (6) Assuming it worked, go ahead and give your rule a name, such as Outlook Wider Contacts List and click Save.
    Stylish has many other uses, since it can modify Firefox's "chrome" (toolbars, menus, etc.) as well as web pages.
    Any luck?

  • Firefox errors when in outlook webmail

    When any of the users on my network open Outlook webmail through Firefox, they are experiencing the error below (randomly throughout the day). When you try to close the error, it does not go away. F5 will clear the error so they can continue to work, but it continues to be disruptive.

    Hi jwittlock,
    Does this also happen in another browser? The error that you gave is a warning that a function call is cancelling a completed script. Please check with outlook webmail if this happens in multiple browsers.

  • MacBook Pro and full outlook webmail

    I am not able to use the full outlook webmail app through Safari and IE does not work. Any other solutions?

    Depending on what mail provider you use and if they support IMAP or the Exchange and or Exchange Active sync (Or Google Mail acounts) and whether or not you can link your calendar and contacts through your mail provider or one of the other online services you can sync everything to all devices. I have 2 Macs, use a windows PC at work sometimes, and an Android phone and all of them have the exact same calendars and contacts on them. All done through both my Gmail account and my Work Office365 account. they are all linked up, Syned Up, together. If I make an appointment/event on one device and account it is synced to all devices and all accounts.

  • Z10 can't send email with ActiveSync from work Outlook webmail

    First off, love my Z10. It was able to connect to my work's Outlook webmail with no problem. I am able to get calendar and work emails.
    HOWEVER, I can't seem to be able to send email through my work account. When sending an email, I keep getting this red wrong way icon with the message:
    Message Status: Acknowledgement for send was not received from Server.
    What's wrong?
    I checked through my Outlook web account and it shows my phone within Mobile Phone Details:
    Access state: Access Granted
    Policy applied: Default - Applied in full
    ActiveSync version: 14.0
    Is there something I need to ask my IT staff for?
    Thanks.

    It appears as if your email is running on Exchange 2010, and if so then you can troubleshoot this issue yourself to see if your phone is even talking to your ActiveSync server when it is trying to send the emails. If something doesn't jump out at you during this process, this information should help your IT folks in troubleshooting the effort.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mstehle/archive/2013/04/29/howto-visual-guide-to-turn-on-exchange-activesync...
    You can also test the full functionality of ActiveSync on your account by using Microsoft's following testing tool, which should point out any major issues:
    https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/
    In regards to your question about what to ask your IT staff for, as an Exchange engineer myself I don't think there is anything on the server side that would let you connect and download email but not send it. So I would want to see the logs mentioned above to see what was going on with the device to server connectivity, in conjunction to the error message you already grabbed.
    There are some random "fixes" on the Internet such as this one which would be a server side configuration change, but again the more information you can supply your IT folks the better:

  • Outlook 2013 Auto Account Setup for Linked Mailbox Not working

    We've created a linked mailbox, in Exchange 2013 (in domain1), for a user in another AD forest, domain2. We have the AutoDiscover service configured in the other AD forest as well. Our only issue now is trying to find a way to get the Outlook Auto Account
    Setup to automagically configure a user's profile the first time Outlook 2013 is started. If we type in the user's email address and name and click Next, the profile is created successfully.
    I spoke to Microsoft support who helped me confirm that AutoDiscovery was configured correctly in the other forest. Reading this information (
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124251.aspx ) on AutoDiscover, I found what may be the issue. It notes that
    "If the Outlook client is joined to a domain, the user's domain account is used."
    Since the linked mailbox is associated with domain1, Outlook looks like it cannot use the domain account from domain2. I wonder if there might be a registry hack to bypass this and force Outlook clients in domain2 to look at email addresses in domain1?
    Orange County District Attorney

    Hi,
    According to your description, I noticed that “If we type in the user's email address and name and click Next, the profile is created successfully”. Do you mean the linked mailbox can be setup automatically when you fill in the Name and E-mail Address in
    the Auto Account Setup page? For example:
    If that is the case, the autodiscover service in Exchange side should be configured correctly and it is working for Outlook client automatically account setup.
    If the account can’t be setup automatically when using autodiscover service, please
    verify that the Master Account (Domain2\User1) has full access to the Linked Mailbox ([email protected]) as well as the smtp address using the cmdlets Get-Mailbox and Get-MailboxPermission in Exchange server:
    Get-Mailbox [email protected] | fl PrimarySmtpAddress,*Type*,*Link*
    Get-MailboxPermission [email protected] | fl

  • Outlook 2010 won't send/receive at startup or at scheduled intervals

    I've searched through some of the forums, but can't seem to find anything... I have a user who's Outlook 2010 won't do a send/receive at startup, nor at the scheduled intervals I have it set to.... It works in safe mode, so I have everything set right, but
    when I try to go in the regular way it won't work... I've unchecked all add-ins to make them inactive, one at a time until they all were, and it still wouldn't work properly.
    I've created a new profile... confirmed the send/received settings under File>Options>Advanced>Send/Receive....
    Any other suggestions?

    Hi,
    Do you have any kind of virus scanner integration? It may expose itself as an add-in in Outlook, try to disable it and check the result.
    Please also try if this issue persists after you create a new Send/Receive Group.
    Click File, and then click Options.
    Click the Advanced tab.
    In the Find Send and Recieve section, click Send/Recieve.
    Under Group Name, click the group, and then click Copy.
    Under Send/Receive Group Name, type the new group name, and then click OK.
    Under Group Name, click the old group name.
    Under both When Outlook is Online and When Outlook is Offline, click to clear the check box for Include this group in Send/Receive (F9).
    Click Close.
    Quit Outlook, and then restart Outlook.

    I hope this helps.

  • Outlook webmail attachments

    I'm try to view an attachment (word doc) from an email using outlook webmail to my corporate account. But it tells me I must first save the document - which obviously I can't do on the touch. (This is the save way it works with Safari on my Mac.) Has anyone figured out a way around this problem???
    Thanks!

    Unfortunatley, no. I too use the system your using, and attachements in e-mails, unless pictures, are not retreivable or viewable from iPod Touch.

  • Viewing Outlook Webmail on Safari

    I have been trying to access my company webmail from our company website. The Outlook Webmail page pops up but nothing will load. I have tried installing Foxfire but I am still not able to view OUtlook Webmail. Any suggestions?

    I have tried installing Foxfire
    It's Firefox, not Foxfire.
    Any suggestions?
    Did you check with your IT department to see what they might be doing to prevent access by non-Windoze browsers? Have you considered using the Develop > User Agent menu to choose an IE 6 or 7 User Agent to see if you can access the site that way?
    If that doesn't work, then it's probably your company that is browser- and platform-sniffing to block access to anything but Windoze systems and IE browsers.
