Overriding forms built-in functions

Hi, I have made pl/sql -triggers that control the data insert, update and delete functions. T
hen i have coded the ON-INSERT, ON-UPDATE, ON-DELETE -triggers and also ON-QUERY.
The problem is that when i calla the database trigger, i'm not able to set the default values to the block with when-new-data-item-instance trigger.
I think that the trigger executes after the ON-INSERT -trigger.
Where can i put the default values to the data block in case using the ON-INSERT trigger?
Then i also want to know the rules that tell what to put in those ON-XXX -triggers.
Has somebody any examples of using those triggers together with database triggers?

Hi,
I have coded database triggers to fill the gaps between day started and day ended for the records.
When a user updates a record, the database trigger inserts a new record in the database and sets the day started to the record, as the user wanted.
The other row is updated into history, so that the day ended is the new rows day started - 1 day.
So i want to have all the changes in the table, it is not possible to update the record, instead i insert a new record in the database.
Is this clear?

Field validation using distributed form's "Submit Form" built-in function

Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me out with a small problem I'm having. I have a hidden field on a form which is the total of other numeric values on the form with code in place so that if the number doesn't equal what it should, the alert box is displayed. The problem is that it's a distributed form and even though the message is displayed, if you hit submit (Built-in Submit Form) button form on a second attempt, it submits anyway. So the question is, how do I change the built-in API submit button code to catch the error? Because it's a distributed form, am I dealing with global variables vs. form level? I've tried using the "event.rc = false" at the form level to no avail. I can't seem to locate the built-in "submit form" code so that I can change that to make this APP work. Or is there a better way to do this. My validation code is below and I would greatly appreciate anyone's help.

Thanks for your reply. When you say to "remove the Submit action, and submit the form yourself inside your code" are you refering to the
distributed forms "Submit Form" button displayed on the purple tool bar of the distributed form? And if so, could you please let me know how I can do that? I've
looked into that and haven't found an answer. Doing that would solve my problem of having my own submit code acting correctly and the
distributed forms "Submit form" code not having any idea about my forms desired field value.

Built-in functions for Forms in Oracle AS 10g

Hi,
We have recently installed form and report services for AS10g.
Altough we have successfully converted and deployed static 6i forms to the server, the built in functions (like CALL FORM etc.) doesn't work.
For instance a form is diplayed and is able to retrieve data but it does actually nothing when a button is pressed with underlying CALL_FORM, SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY functions.
In our developer's devSuite these functions work fine, so I wonder if some service to be added to the server side.
Any help will be appreciated,

If your development and target systems are different make sure you regenerate the FMX files...also make sure you have the correct case....in windows CALL_FORM('FormA') is will call a form called FORMA or ForMA or FORma..if you are deployed on unix or linux this will fail .

Is it possible to override the built-in PDF format handler with a custom IFilter for PDF?

Hi,
SharePoint 2013 comes with a built-in "format handler" for PDF now, so it can index PDF files out of the box. This is great for most users, as it now no longer is necessary to install a third-party IFilter for crawling PDF documents.
My question is, is it possible to override the built-in format handler for PDF with a custom IFilter for PDF? I played with the Set-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormatState and Remove-SPEnterpriseSearchFileFormat cmdlets. While it is possible to deactivate
the built-in format handler, I was not able to remove it and to create a new one that activates a custom IFilter for PDF files.
Background of the question: While the new built-in format handler for PDF will probably be sufficient for many SharePoint users, some need additional capabilities regarding indexing if PDF documents, e.g. extraction of custom metadata from PDF's document
information dictionary and embedded XMP metadata. PDFlib GmbH, the company I work form, sells an IFilter for PDF, and of course we would like to continue to offer this for SharePoint 2013.

You should be able to replace it with any ifilter you want, this is the procedure for installing it:
Install PDF iFilter 9.0 (64 bit) from
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025 (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4025)
Download PDF icon picture from Adobe web site
http://www.adobe.com/misc/linking.html (http://www.adobe.com/misc/linking.html) and copy to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\IMAGES\
Add the following entry in docIcon.xml file, which can be found at: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\XML

Add pdf file type on the File Type page under Search Service Application
Open regedit
Navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office Server\15.0\Search\Setup\ContentIndexCommon\Filters\Extension
Right-click > Click New > Key to create a new key for .pdf
Add the following GUID in the default value
{E8978DA6-047F-4E3D-9C78-CDBE46041603}
•Restart the SharePoint Server Search 15
•Reboot the SharePoint servers in Farm
•Create a Test site (with any out-of-box site template) and create a document library upload any sample PDF document(s).
•Perform FULL Crawl to get search result.
Once the crawl is completed we will get search results.

Accessing built in functions through javascript

Hi everyone,
Is there a way to call one of the built-in functions using javascript? For example, I added a click_box, and the on-success events I can choose to continue, go to a different slide, open a file/url etc. I can also choose to execute a javascript.
My question is, can I choose to execute a javascript, and then within that javascript, call the "open a file/url" and pass it a variable (url)?
The reason I want to do this is when a user clicks on a link to open a URL, I want the movie to pause until they return and click on the next button to proceed.
Unless of course there is a much easier way to accomplish this.

With JavaScript option you generally create your own functions. And really, IMNSHO that's what the purpose of the JavaScript option is really for. Perhaps you want to open a link in a specifically sized and placed window with specific attributes such as no Toolbar, no Status bar or Menu bar. In this case you would create a function to do this, then call the function from JavaScript.
Then again, JavaScript is a whole other wiggly nest of wiener dogs! My simpleton opinion is to do as much as you possibly can in Captivate without resorting to Flash or JavaScript or any other "layer". Because when things go wrong (and trust me, they ALWAYS do) there is less to confuse issues.

How to use a mysql built-in function with dataprovider

hi.
I want to use a mysql built-in function, for example, MD5() on a column when updating a table with dataprovider.
Something like this doesn't work:
MyDataProviderOne.setValue("tablename.field_name", "MD5('some text')");
How should it be done?

Forms built in 6i is not showing up in Runtime in 10g

In Forns 10g developer I compiled a form built with Forms 6i but when I try to execute it, the internet explorer launches and show blank i.e form is not appearing in 10g runtime. status bar says Applet Started.

I am also trying to convert a 6i program to 10G. I was having problems and so I decided to start over. I took an existing 10G form and tried to save it to a new name so that I could modify it and save it as a new form. The problem is that when I open the existing form I get a warning message "FRM-10102: Cannot attach PL/SQL library sb_error. This library attachment will be lost if the module is saved." So I cannot save it to a new form name without loosing the library attachment. Without this library attachment, my form does not load properly when executed. Any thoughts?

How to call the built in functions from flex?

I want to use some of the Built in functions like the twelvesprints.getActivityOwnerId() in flex. From the java example i could make out that we needed to import some classes to do this but was unable to find them for flex.

Dreamweaver forms do not function in Firefox, cannot fill in...

Form built in Dreamweaver works when it wants in Firefox. Works fine in Safari & Explorer. Have reloaded original working version. Still does not work in Firefox.

Please provide a public URL or reduced test case that exhibits this issue.

in my system are already 77.197 transaction codes defined. OK, some are customer development, but on the other hand we are fare away from having all modules installed.
I'm not sure, if you are looking for all transactions, all function modules, all BAPIs, all interfaces...
...but be sure, no one can EVER go through a whole list.
You have to restrict your search: to a specific topic (e.g. only material master), specific technics (e.g. only IDOCs) - then you can successfully browse through the possibilities.

When we install Oracle Discoverer, it loads a table EUL functions which has some built in functions and its parameters, whcih in turn is used by the Report of Dicoverer.so in that line can we have something which loads the built in fiunctions into a table..

Form Built-in to display a static HTML doc

Hi. Is there a forms built-in to allow me to point to and display a static HTML document located on the same server as the form is running? Basically I want the user to click a button that will open an HTML help document.

Assuming you are on webforms >= 9i you could create an aliasmatch and use web.show_document with a relativepath to show your HTML file.
